Emma to take three-year break from acting

Posted By Rares on 06-27-09 @ 3:59 PM - 11 comments | Link
The Telegraph reports that Watson is planning to put the brakes on her acting career after she wraps up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and its sequel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II.

The 19-year-old is due to start an English and Art course at university in September and wants to enjoy her time as a normal student, away from the pressures of fame.

"I want to forget about hair and makeup, sometimes on a publicity tour I can't remember what time it is, what country I'm in."

"Now it's coming to an end I'm trying to hold on to it. So I have a book, and everyone I've met has a page. I want to remember them and not just be left with the media version of what happened to me," she added.

At least in the meantime they have the Deathly Hallows films to look forward to—and the much-anticipated kissing scene between herself and co-star Rupert Grint, which she has also revealed some details about.

"We did it two weeks ago," she said. "Four takes one way and two takes with the camera in the other direction. Six takes altogether," she added.

Evil Harry Potter Malware is Spreading

Posted By Rares on 06-27-09 @ 4:37 AM - 0 comments | Link
Can’t wait to see the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?

In a e-mail release by Ireland-based PC Tools, an anti-virus software company company, they stated that cybercriminals are targeting peer-to-peer (P2P) search engines that share illegal downloads of the movies in advance of its screening.

The text description will be Watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Online for Free. It redirects the downloader to a web site, which will prompt to install an additional “streamviewer.” The streamviewer, however, is a malware software.

Malware software is designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner’s informed consent.

So wait and watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in theaters on July 15 this summer. You won't have any regrets watching it on the big screen and your computer may thank you. Thanks Iesb for the tip!

Rupert : kissing Emma was a 'strange' experience

Posted By Rares on 06-27-09 @ 4:29 AM - 7 comments | Link
Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, has described his long-awaited screen kiss with Emma Watson as a "strange" experience – and admitted that he has never had a girlfriend.

"We've known each other for 10 years so it was a bit like kissing my sister," he told the Mail on Sunday. "We were determined to get it right the first time, but our first try was a disaster because we both felt so self-conscious and we couldn't stop laughing."

While Grint's film love life may be hotting up, the actor says he is in no rush to throw himself into off-screen romances. Despite the attentions of Harry Potter fans the young millionaire says he is "quite insecure" around girls and has yet to find anyone to suit his "weird" tastes.

"I've never been seriously involved with anyone. I've certainly never been in love. I've always preferred to keep things casual," he said. "It's not that I find it hard to meet girls – they do come up and chat me up from time to time. Sometimes I'm interested, I tend not to go for the prettier ones. I prefer the quirkier types."

Evanna Lynch talks Luna in Half-Blood Prince

Posted By Rares on 06-12-09 @ 2:06 PM - 3 comments | Link
Evanna Lynch, Luna Lovegood in the Potter series, talked with IrishCentral about her character and her role in the upcoming movie, Half-Blood Prince.

“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is without doubt the darkest chapter of the whole J.K. Rowling series, and in it Luna remains steadfast as both a defender of the wizarding world and as a comfort to Harry in his darkest hour. Lynch says the new film remains faithful to the book and her character.

“Luna seems small and young and not noted for being brave, and yet she is. She’s really calm though, she doesn’t get surprised by anything, and she accepts people’s differences,” Lynch says.

“In fact J.K. Rowling told me as a character she’s the most adjusted to the idea of death in the whole series. That cuts out a lot of fear for her. She tries to impress it on Harry. She’ll take it as it comes.”

Evanna also talked about her aspirations for performing in London's West End, the lessons she has learned and about a potential Dumbledore-Luna relationship. Check the entire interview here

Emma Watson turns Burberry's new face

Posted By Rares on 06-12-09 @ 1:47 PM - 3 comments | Link
Emma Watson has been busy lately. In just the past month or so, she's fronted a beautiful ad campaign for Burberry, posed for Karl Lagerfeld, been photographed for W Magazine, and apparently, been photographed by Arved Colvin-Smith.

Emma Watson, who has been known as a fashionista and is often seen attending fashion shows, will surely do the brand proud. Emma's campaign will appear in various print publications starting in August and will be for Burberry's Fall 2009 line.

Check out some photos from the campaign for Burberry here and a slideshow with the Colvin-Smith shots here.

Thanks to our reader Rachel for the tip and thanks to Examiner.com for the links!

Obama daughters party on Harry Potter set

Michelle Obama took her daughters to meet the stars of Harry Pottter today and enjoy a party on the set of the final instalments of the boy-wizard series.

The trip was an eighth birthday treat for the Obamas' younger daughter, Sasha, although Malia, 10, also went along for the ride.

The First Family, who spent last night in the West End watching the stage musical version of Lion King, were expected to meet Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and other stars of the blockbusting film series.

Sources close to the Leavesden studios, in an old Rolls-Royce factory near Watford, said that the author JK Rowling - who sat next to Mrs Obama during the G20 banquet in Downing Street - was also attending today's party.

JK Rowling leads a charity gala

Looking stunning in a sky blue gown, Harry Potter author JK Rowling arrived hand in hand with former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev last night at the star-studded annual Raisa Gorbachev Foundation charity gala dinner [check out a photo with JKR here].

The dinner, which Mr Gorbachev hosted at the Stud House of Hampton Court Palace in Surrey, has become one of the most successful fundraisers of the social calendar.

The foundation was established in memory of Mr Gorbachev's late wife and raises millions of pounds a year to help find a cure for cancer in children.

This year's event was especially poignant as it marks the tenth anniversary of Mrs Gorbachev's death from leukaemia in 1999.

Emma asked by producers to tone it down

Posted By Rares on 06-07-09 @ 3:57 AM - 23 comments | Link
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in Harry Potter movies, has been advised to stick with her pristine school girl image till the series is over.

The 19-year-old was recently in the US for a W magazine cover shoot. The magazine wanted Watson to do something risqué and she was game but the Harry Potter producers asked her to tone it down.

“They wanted Emma to do something raunchy but the Harry Potter producers told her it was too risqué and the shoot was softened,” a source tells UK’s Daily Mail.

“As far as they are concerned, until the Potter series has finished she is still schoolgirl Hermione Granger.”

Harry Potter stars 'should have rebelled'

Posted By Rares on 06-07-09 @ 3:53 AM - 1 comments | Link
In a new interview with The Telegraph, Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs praises how well Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have dealt with fame.

Jason Isaacs, who plays Lucius Malfoy, jokes that the films would have benefitted if their young stars had been more rebellious. "The problem with Harry Potter is that there is so little controversy," he complained at the first night of Sister Act, the West End musical. "It would be so great for the press if one of them would go off the rails and end up in rehab, but they are, actually, just really sweet guys."

"They can fall backwards on their mountains of cash," he said. "It doesn't matter. They're really talented and they've got each other as close friends, which is all that matters because no one else has been through the same thing.

"What is amazing about them is that they are still respectful and have humility and work ethic. I have met and sometimes worked with their American equivalents and they have none of those things.

"Fine, I'll try and teach him again!" Snape snarled at Professor Dumbledore.

"Severus, please, for me, don't take all those old wounds that you gained from James out on Harry. Harry is not James - do not blame him for what happened." Dumbledore spoke quietly, but his blue eyes held a warning. Snape sighed in frustration...
