Yesterday in a news release, Warner Bros. announced details pertaining to the new Harry Potter: Wizarding World DVD game. Here is what they had to say about it:
Based on two Harry Potter films – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire™, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ – and Harry Potter: Wizarding World™, the DVD game enables fans to extend the movie experience with activities that include escaping Death Eaters at the Quidditch World Cup, learning defensive magic in Dumbledore's Army, potion-mixing in Advanced Potions class and much more. Harry Potter: Wizarding World™ hits stores on December 1, 2009 for $24.98 SRP. Order due date is October 27, 2009.

Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch have both laucnhed the upcoming release of the Half-Blood Prince DVD by releasing 1000 balloons over London today. This kicks off the contest that is open to anyone in the UK that is over 18, anyone who finds one of these balloons will have to simply follow the instructions on the card attached to the balloon and be entered into a prize draw which could see them winning a trip to the Deathly Hallows set!

First Piece of HP Exhibition arrives in Boston

The Potter Exhibition started out in Chicago and it getting ready to move onto Boston where it will open on October 25th at the Museum of Science. Just a couple days ago the first piece from the exhibition arrived: Ron's horse from the chess set in SS.

Its been reported that a week and a half ago Brendan Gleeson wrapped up filming on Deathly Hallows. His time as playing Mad-Eye Moody has ended and he has said goodbye to his character. Gleeson was quoted saying "I waved goodbye to him a week and a half ago. It was great fun, playing Mad-Eye was a hoot."

A few days ago it was mentioned that SS and CoS will be released as Ultimate Edition DVDs in December. I have come across a trailer that talks about those two as well as saying that all eight Harry Potter movies will be releases as Ultimate Edition DVDs at some point. There are no set dates for any of them except SS and CoS.

As it's already September 19 in the UK, JKRowling.com has been updated to wish Hermione Granger a happy birthday. She's celebrating the 30th birthday today.
As you all know, after completing her studies, Hermione worked for the Ministry of Magic, in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. She also married Ron Weasley and had two children, Hugo and Rose!

Along with the announcement of the release of Half-Blood Prince to DVD came the announcement that the Ultimate Editions of Sorceror's Stone and Chamber of Secrets will hit shelves the same day as Half-Blood Prince. Video Business had this to say:
The new Ultimate Editions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, priced at $39.92 on DVD and $49.99 on Blu-ray, will each include five hours of special features, theatrical and extended versions of the film, a 48-page photo book and other collectibles.
Among the special features will be screen tests, new featurettes with the cast and filmmakers and the first two one-hour installments of a new comprehensive documentary about the making of the movie franchise. Called Creating the World of Harry Potter, the eight-hour documentary will have one hour on each Ultimate Edition.

Today, Warner Brothers announced the official release date of Half-Blood Prince to DVD. As previously thought, it will be coming to DVD in December, December 8th to be exact. All fans in the US can look forward to getting a copy on that day.

Tom Felton was at Universal Studios checking out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and participating in the live webcast that took place on Tuesday. We saw that Tom announced the opening of the theme park, and now we have a 5 minute long interview that took place after her made the anouncement.

The Nintendo Wii made it semi-realistic to use a wand. Now engineers at the Wand Company will be offering a universal Kymera Magic Wand remote control.
This is just another way that the wizarding world is coming to be in our own Muggle world. Check it out when it comes out Oct. 1 for $80?

We don't have a set date for when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open, but today from Orlando, Florida, Universal Studios confirmed that the park would be opening in Spring of 2010. The three main rides that will be found there are Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge. On Flight of the Hippogriff you can interact with Hagrid as you learn to fly a Hippogriff. Dragon Challenge will recreate the first task of the Triwizard tournament and you can fly either a Hungarian Horntail or a Chinese Fireball Dragon.
Some other places that will be found at the park are: Ollivander's Wand Shop, Owl Post, Dervish and Banges, Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, Zonko's and Filch Emporium.

Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have now been added to the Guiness Book of World Records 2010. They have won in the categories of "Highest-Grossing Actor of the Decade" and "Highest Average Box-Office Gross for an Actress." These two join actors/actresses like Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie who have been in the Guiness Book of World Records before. The Guiness Book of World Records 2010 will be available on September 15th.

Over the last few weeks, there have been many different reports as to when HBP will be released to DVD. Home Media Magazine is saying that this confusion of release dates is because WB feels that by keeping the release date unknown (but later on in the year) it will increases sales because they think that holiday shoppers will be doing a lot of last minute shopping. Possibly around Christmas then for a release? We'll keep you posted as to when HBP will be released on DVD.

The New York Daily News website has confirmed that Emma Watson has arrived at Brown University. Emma Watson arrived almost two weeks ago looking just like every other college student and joined in on the orientation activites which included a yoga class, a midnight organ concert and a game of kickball. Watson is doing her best to not stand out and has previously stated "I do hope that it will be only a short time before I am known as 'Emma Watson the student from the UK' rather than 'Emma Watson who starred in the "Harry Potter" films.'" Harry Potter Encyclopedia in the Works?

There have been rumors swirling around for a while that JKR is planning on releasing an ecyclopedia of all things Harry Potter. The Sunday Mail posted an article about the encyclopedia today. Neil Blair, a lawyer for Rowling's agents Christopher Little has given no actual release date and has said "The encyclopaedia simply remains something Ms. Rowling would like to complete sometime in the future." We can only hope that this encycolpedia will be published and released sooner rather than later.

For those of you haven't heard about A Very Potter Musical, it is a hilarious parody that contains events from all the Harry Potter books and is set to music. It can be seen here.

Actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who will be playing Gellert Grindelwald in Deathly Hollows (he is also set to play Caius in New Moon) recently spoke about the differences between the two projects. Jamie talked about how like co-star Robert Pattinson, he is appearing in both franchises. Jamie also gives his views on the types of fans who watch each film series. Tom Felton posted to his twitter recently that he will be in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, September 15. What is he going to be there for you might ask. He will be there for a live webcast from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. At this time it is unknown what Tom's role in the event is. Authentic Hogwarts Lamps To Be Used for Rides

The County Times recently reported that The Limehouse Lamp Company is making lights for one of the Harry Potter rides that will be at The Wizarding World at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida (due to open next year).
The managing director at The Limehouse Lamp Company, Elliott Maurice, has said that the lamps are similar to those seen in and around Hogwarts Castle. Universal wanted the rides and the park to be as authentic as possible, as the look and feel of these rides, and the whole park itself, is important to creating the ultimate Potter experience.
"Fine, I'll try and teach him again!" Snape snarled at Professor Dumbledore.
"Severus, please, for me, don't take all those old wounds that you gained from James out on Harry. Harry is not James - do not blame him for what happened." Dumbledore spoke quietly, but his blue eyes held a warning. Snape sighed in frustration...
