1984 - Chapter 11: An End to it all

Story:	Ok, one thing you have to realize about this chapter is, it was 3 in the morning, and I wanted it done. So it moves VERY fast and I'm sorry. But yes, this is the last chapter. I hope you enjoy. Love: Krystal~* It had been a fortnight ago since the encounter with Lupin in the toilets, and Harry still hadn’t felt any better since then. In fact, he felt as though he was getting worse. He tried visiting Madam Pswafield in the Hospital wing, but she had no answer to his strange sickness. He carried on like everything was normal. He had acquired a nickname, set by most of the school. Since Harry and James were with each other round the clock, they became known as, “The Twins”. It probably had something to do with the fact that they were rarely seen without each other, and looked uncannily alike. Harry and Lupin met regularly to discuss the plan that would be put into action. This was their last meeting for their scheme. Ginny, Lupin and Harry gathered around a small table hidden among the shelves of the library. They were speaking in rushed whispers. “Don’t forget; give slight signals through out the day, so they suspect something.” Lupin said, using his hands in forceful talk. Harry and Ginny nodded with understanding. “Nothing too obvious though, just subtle,” he continued. “Save the big stuff for later.” Randomly Harry reached over and grabbed hold of Ginny’s hand. Remus smiled at the two of them. “You know, I still find it weird that James and Lily get married and the result is sitting -my age- in front of me with his girlfriend.” “Tell me about it. Having my parents run around as ignorant teens is pretty weird.” Harry agreed. When the bell sounded, the trio made their way to first period. “Action,” whispered Lupin. As if on cue, James and Sirius waltzed up with Wormtail waddling and wheezing, following in their footsteps. Harry and Ginny had turned to each other at the sight of him and immersed themselves in deep conversation immediately. And to top it off, Harry tucked a fiery loose strand of hair behind Ginny’s ear. Ginny smiled with a flirty “thanks” escaping her lips. “Hey Ginny, Harry.” James said with a sliver of concern. “Hello James,” Ginny sang brightly. “Care to walk me to class? See you later Harry.” With that last statement, she gave a wink. Harry smiled and received a suspicious glare from James. Harry washed the smirk from his face. He raised his eyebrows and gave James a ‘‘what?’’ look. Harry’s books were hung low with both hands in front of him, when James stalked off with Ginny, Sirius and Peter. Harry turned to walk with Lupin. “Nice,” Remus said as they trudged down the way to Dumbledore’s office. “So, are you sure, you haven’t been getting any better?” Remus enquired as they went against traffic towards their destination. “Maybe it gets worse before better you know? Do you even know where we’re going?” “You’ve never been to Dumbledore’s office?” Harry asked sounding quite shocked, although he had no reason to be. Not many students had business to take to the Headmaster’s home. Harry stopped them just before the familiar gargoyle statue. Remus glanced over and Harry gave him a reassuring look. “Fizzlepops.” Harry said. Remus looked at him as though he were nuts. “Wha-?”” he didn’t get to finish his thought, for just at that moment the gargoyle jumped aside to reveal a hidden staircase. Remus obviously was not prepared for such an incident, because he leaped backwards away from the disguised door. “How in the world did you know that?” Lupin asked in awe as they boarded the revolving staircase. “Special bond,” Harry said as a joke, gesturing upwards to the office, but he knew it were true. When the staircase came to a halt, Harry rapped on the door a number of two times. There was no answer so Harry decided to go right in. “Are you sure you’re allowed to go right in?” Lupin asked in a shocked whisper. “Hello, Harry! I was wondering when you’d come to see me again. I’ve missed your company.” Dumbledore was seated at his desk, as was he stationed on the other side of the room. “Sorry I didn’t reply. I was just in a meeting.” He then made a hand motion towards his older self. Harry sighed; it was a mix between relief and the fact that his head started spinning again. Lupin was still stationed at the door with his jaw dropped. “Hello Remus,” Harry’s Headmaster said from the other side of the room. Lupin switched gazes between the two Dumbledore's positioned in the room. Harry sat down across from the youthful Dumbledore. “I need to talk about the way I feel.” Harry started. “This is normal for you? Two Dumbledore’s?” Lupin interjected. Harry nodded, and then continued. “I haven’t been getting better. I feel as though I’ve been getting worse.” “From the Animagus transformation,” the aged Dumbledore stated. “Yes, Harry I know.” He added, answering the questioning atmosphere of Harry’s face. “Yes we suspected it would happen.” He then spoke. “What? What’s happening?” This time the Dumbledore seated at the desk answered. “You’re starting to feel the effects of being erased.” Lupin looked horror struck. “Being erased?” Harry said fairly outraged caused by fright. “I thought we had more time!” he suddenly felt very nauseated. “Don’t worry Harry, we can figure this out.” Future Dumbledore said. “How?! How can we figure this out?” he nearly screamed. Lupin was now sinking into the shadows, clearly thinking everything through. The present day Dumbledore stood up and started circling around his desk towards Harry. “It is to my understanding that you already have a plan. Yes?” Harry nodded trying to hold back an outburst that he felt welling up in his throat. “Then that will do.” Harry’s Dumbledore said. “We trust you.” “Yeah, but it’s not your life on the line.” Harry said setting out the door, saying “Come on” to Lupin. Harry was walking furiously down the empty corridors. He couldn’t help but think of Ron and Hermione. He’d been so busy with his whole escapade, that he never had a moment to sit and ponder the thought of them. He missed them greatly at this point. He would love nothing more than to just laze in his favourite chair in the common room and talk about anything besides his parents. He didn’t want to wait until later that night. He wanted to get it over with. He quickly changed his direction and carried up the staircase on his right. “Hey, Harry, we have Binns,” Lupin said standing his ground at the base of the stairs. Harry ignored him and carried on. He marched with purpose straight to the class which James had. He still didn’t know quite what he was going to do, but to his luck standing outside was James accompanied with Ginny. “Harry . . .” Ginny was cut off by Harry grabbing her and pulling her into a forced -but full of love-kiss. He didn’t break off for what seemed to be ages. He was getting his parents together and going back home. When he did brake off, he peered over and saw to his great surprise and appreciation, that James and Lily stood stock still completely shocked at the previous incident. James switched gazes between Harry, Ginny and a shameful Lupin. “What is this?” he looked fairly angry and hurt at the same time. Lily looked close to tears. She was staring at Harry as though it were the ghost of her dead grandmother. “Can’t you see? You guys are meant for each other.” Ginny said. She indicated Lily and James. “Evans and me?” he looked quite shocked. Lupin now stepped up. “Come on, the only reason you even took a second glance at Ginny is because Lily would never give a second glace to you.” “You just did it to get over her.” Harry said in a mellifluous tone. “You only have one first love. Why not make it your only?” Lily seemed small and confused. She was biting her thumbnails nervously. “Come on, you know as well as I do that Evans and I would never work out. I’ve asked her out every day since the second year.” Without notice, without any warning, James was cut off by a startling action made by Lily. She had pounced on him. She wrapped herself completely around him, and thrust her lips towards his. Both Harry and Ginny looked taken aback, while Lupin looked thrilled and yet a little disgusted. When James and Lily broke apart, Lily looked shocked at her own actions. She then turned shyly and started to briskly drift off. James stopped her by throwing his hand out and clasping hers. He yanked back and grabbed her face to steal another kiss. When he released, he looked at her with pure and utter love. The plan worked. It was simple, but did the job. Harry and Ginny, now a free couple, grabbed each other closely and jumped into an immediate hug. They then carried down the corridor hand in hand. * “Come on Harry, seriously it’s time to get up.” Harry fluttered his eyes open to the stern face of Hermione. “How are you so awake when you got the same amount of sleep as me? What was it . . . like ten minutes?” Harry asked shutting his eyes once again. “Very funny,” Hermione sternly laughed. “But let’s go we have to meet Ron.” Harry slowly but surely awoke and got ready. Within 45 minutes they were walking down the enchanted streets of Diagon Alley. Hermione dragged Harry all around helping him buy all his supplies. “Hermione I honestly think that I have enough quills now. You’ve bought me six!” Harry said trudging along with the weight of everything holding him down. “Hey,” Harry swished around to see his tall, gangly, fire-haired best friend Ron. “Ron,” Harry was so excited that he almost dropped his books. “And Ginny,” he added as the gorgeous younger sister of Ron came up, at which point he did drop his books. “‘No Harry, like you don’t have a soul’ . . . ‘Sleep with girls and swears, boy, you’re a charmer.’ ‘Harry, the reason you are the chosen one, is because you were born.’ ‘You’re not only taking away the life I have, you’re taking away my life completely.’ ‘If we do not get them back together in time, you will be erased from existence.’ ‘It’s a Phoenix feather!’ ‘Only someone with such a strong soul could have a Phoenix as an Animagus form. It was your father’s blood wasn’t it?’ ‘From the Animagus, yes, Harry I know.’ ‘You’re starting to feel the effects of being erased.’ ‘You only have one first love. Why not make it your only’” Harry froze as the images ran through his head, overlapping, flashing in and out. He was half way through picking up his possessions as he stood immobile, watching a far off screen in his head, play different photos of a life else where. Ginny bent down to help him with his belongings. As her hand touched his, one last burst of memory flooded in. Harry hadn’t felt more comfortable since he was a baby. Staring into Ginny’s eyes he slowly leant closer. His lips touched hers and sent a surge of energy throughout his body. There was such a connection. He started out slowly and gave her a passionate kiss. When they broke apart they examined each other with pure love. He broke from his trance, and studied the figure before him. “I remember too Harry,” she whispered to him. He was hesitant for a moment, before he quickly moved in for a kiss. He let go and gave her a hug that could only mean, “I love you” After that incident, they had to explain the whole story, so Hermione and Ron could wipe the confused expressions off their faces. When they arrived back at the Granger’s they got an unexpected visit from Remus Lupin. He sat Harry and Ginny down. “Well it worked.” He said in an obvious tone. Ginny and Harry sat hand in hand, and had a chuckle at the statement made by “Captain obvious.” “I still can’t believe that you were pushed through time. And when did this happen?” he moved his hand back and forth between the two. He rubbed his face that was plastered with a great grin. “Well, I best be off, oh and Harry, use the Phoenix carefully.” He winked and exited the building. Harry made a “heh-heh” look, for the “you’d-better-explain-boy” look Ginny was giving him. The ride back to Hogwarts on the train was played out differently than before. Harry kissed Ginny knowing what was to happen. “Oh, sorry, was I interrupting something?” Harry resurfaced from Ginny and without even turning his head, said, “As a matter of fact you are.” He then turned to Cho, “But don’t worry, you’re still my friend.” He smiled at her, with a warm smile that said he still wanted to be friends. She returned a weak smile that said the same only with pain. * The luggage was packed into the entrance hall, and the school hustled in and clambered into the Great Hall. The first years came shortly after and began the sorting ceremony, which only led closer to the dinner. With stomachs aching, and the sorting done, the feast began. The room rang with every student catching up on the latest news, and how summers had gone. It was a welcoming feeling. With everyone greatly satisfied, the headmaster stood up, to welcome everyone. “And so, we begin our new year at Hogwarts,” Harry looked around the hall, into every face of his peers. This was his home. The End

	hp obsessed i thought that was splendid. you really should become an author. mrs rowling said that she wouldnt write past a 7th book,maybe u could get permission from her to write more harry potter books. i especially liked the writing. it was very very author like. everything was really good about it, the story, the writing, everything. the only problem i had was that i dont know what the history was, because harry and ginny were together,but dumbledore was alive, and like a read from someone before, harry and his friends were born in 1980, and the story took place in 1984, so they would be 4. thats wat i didnt get, but it didnt effect the story at all. a very good piece of writing. bravo,bravo

I just Love Harry and Ginny together, and I love Dumbledore and I needed him. Why it has this title, is [censored] somewhere it was said he was born in 1984...But it doesn't take place IN 1984. I entered this story into the FanFic competition on this site, and they gave us titles we had to work from. So, I picked it and related it to Harry's Birth. But I'm glad you liked it. 	Stephanie Monkey I have to say that I have NEVER READ anytype of FanFiction stuff- but that was soo good. A great idea. I realy think that it should be edited and worked on alittle more! 	The Prophecy Smasher I really liked this story and its plot very much. But try and put in more descriptions, more details. It will make the story flow better because it's just slightly choppy right now. You seemed to be relating to Ginny a lot more, with James. How was Harry feeling during Binns's class? Oh, and who the figtree is Carter? Good story, great plot, well written. Just...spiff it up a bit. :) Good Luck.

Why in hell do you ruin, a what a thought could be a eccelent action packed story, with all that crap of love and kissing?? If Rowling writes about love so many freakin times and the seventh book I will be deeply disapointed. And last. I think you should practice your writing tempo. Sometimes I felt it went way to slow, other times it rushed away, with hardly any detail. But a decent 3 stars from me. Keep writing;)

	Mads Terney Just a thought.. If Dumbledore could go back in time, why not just go back and kill He-Who-Must-Not-be-Named when he was a child? I Think Dumbledore would prefer that, instead of "killing" Harry. Oh, and Dumbledore believe Love is the strongest magic of all, when why would he ruin it for James and Lily? Ehm, as I said before an okay story, but your definition of Dumbledore is in my opion, really bad.

	Sirius Black Rules I have read all 11 chapters, so this is a review for them all. It is a fantastic plot. Very funny and very creative. I love you style of writing.
