After a lot of debating, deciding and editing, we've finally arrived at a brand new member ranking system for the forums. We know that the old system drew a lot of questions about the number of posts needed to move up a year and that there were quite a few suggestions for changes to be made, so we listened, and we hope you like what we've come up with.
So here it is. Of course, the first thing you'll notice is that I haven't listed the number of posts you need to "graduate" - that's on purpose
Please don't nag us - we will never reveal how many posts you need because this ranking system is purely for fun. As we always say, we value quality of posts far more than quantity. Not to put a dampener on things, but we can remove posts from your counts if you spam or post a load of one liners to try and boost your ratings
So, warnings out of the way....here's the ranking system.

When you reach Hogwarts Graduate, you may then apply via PM to me to have your rank changed to any one of the following professions -

Joke shop owner

Daily Prophet Reporter / Daily Prophet Editor
Unspeakable
International seeker/beater/keeper/captain/chaser
Teacher (of whatever subject you like)
Weird sister (band member)
Magical shop merchant.
Librarian
Spell creator
Hit Wizard
Obliviator
Watchwizard
Broom maker
Conductor of the Knight Bus
Curse-Breaker for Gringotts
Dishwasher at the Leaky Cauldron
Dragon feeder at Gringotts

Or any other profession that is deemed reasonable.
The Admin are Wizengamot Elders (aside from Matthew, who is Chief Warlock), the Moderators are members of the Wizengamot, the Prefects are Head Aurors, the Inquisitorial Squad are Magical Law Enforcement and the retired moderators are all Order of Merlin, First Class.
The new system was designed to reflect Harry's progress through the books and, just like Harry, as you move up, it gets harder to get to the next stage. But all levels are attainable - don't worry
Post regularly and you'll get there.
When you apply to have your rank changed once you've graduated, your posting record will be checked. If you've received more than two official warnings or if you've boosted your post count in threads like trivia duelling, quizzes or by making one-liner posts, this will be considered before your rank is changed.
Anyway, we hope you find the new system a bit more interesting than the last one - it certainly makes it a lot harder for you guys to work out how many posts you need

This makes me quite sad....I think i still prefer the old system, it was less complicated, and gave you more of a goal to work towards, but alas it dosn't really matter...
