Just thought I'd pop back into S.P.E.L.L. to have a little check on Ygraines baby, make sure you're all eating your greens and wotnot!!

To go back to the setting for Lupins ideal date, I, just like passerby took him back to the lake at Hogwarts. I guess it was influenced by those lazy summer days he would have spent lounging around with the marauders.

As for what I like about him,(I don't love anyone fictional, but I quite fancy David Thewlis!) The character of Lupin is thoughtful, kind, intelligent and even tempered. He would give you the shirt off his back and doesn't tell you what to do but advises in a kindly suggestive manner. There is nothing arrogant and forceful about him and he knows his limitations and boundaries as far as his furry little problem is concerned. He won't take risks, especially when it comes to the safety of others. Basically, I think he's quite a nice chap!

OObyMoose, you have posted in this thread and shown that you admire Lpin, that in itself makes you an official member of S.P.E.L.L. Welcome to you and have a great time with like minded fans.

Well, it has continued, I have been trailing toward the Lupin fiction once more (untintentionally, of course!), but honestly I cannot resist. The stories, the good ones anyhow, are sweet and tender and romantic, which is missing from almost all the other ships I have read (and I have read a lot). Just dropping by to show some love to Moony, haven't been here in ages again.

So Long,

Hi all, I am new to SPELL. I have loved the character of Lupin since the third book. I was just watching the third movie when I realized how much I like him. So I thought I'd talk to some other people about Lupin.

What I like about him, hmm... He is kind and caring, he is very responsible, and respectful. He was always concerned for others saftey, and was always nice to mostly everyone. He's not show-offy, and he deals with his 'furry little problem' very well. He is smart, and a very good friend. I just think Lupin is very great! smile.gif

Peace All,
Ginny happy.gif

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been around, I have been drowning in homework!!

QUOTE
how Lupin manages to keep calm around other werwolves including Grayback

Here's how I think about it. Lupin became a werewolf when he was a small child and so, as sad as it is, it became kind of inevitable that he was going to have to deal with pain and discrimination that a lot adults couldn't even handle. He has been going through this inner turmoil for a long time so I see it as he is such a strong person that after time he eventually came to accpet that he was a werewolf and there is, at the time, nothing he can do about it. Obviously he is going to be mad when he sees Greyback, but he knows that the Order needs him to be stronger then just going out and attacking him when he has a mission to complete. So yes it is hard, but he is a strong person who has more important things to worry about then revenge. happy.gif

And WELCOME Ginny_Hermione and OObyMoose!!!! Hope you have a FANTASTIC time here, welcome to the family!!!! happy.gif

WElcome to everyone who is new to S.P.E.L.L.

quidditch rocks, anything that is Remus Lupin related is not considered going off topic in our eyes. A fresh question is always welcome, and to answer yours.....how Lupin manages to keep calm around other werwolves including Grayback,

I have a feeling that Lupin may well be biding his time.I think he will do a kind of meditation, telling himself to be calm, don't get involved, don't show your hate.

Remember that in OotP he turned up at Grimmauld Place, in Harrys view, a lot thinner and shabbier than he had been previously, so that makes me think that he stays well out of the way of the normal werewolf goings on. I am sure that come the final battle, he will lose his patience and his calm exterior will fold and he will rip into Greyback with every bit of vengeance he can muster.

I quite fancy David Thewlis!

I'm ecstatic to learn that I'm not the only one, etphonehome...sorry for straying off the topic, but I have developed a sudden, deep and fierce liking for him...

But back to the point of this post:
Hello OObyMoose and Ginny_Hermione! Come to join the throngs of Lupin supporters? (Who woudln't...?)

K.Lupin_werewolf, I'm glad you understand me not understanding why I like Lupin...I wasn't sure if anyone would understand...*holds head in confusion*...what did i just say?

I am in a very good mood because I just watched a movie with David Thewlis in it...the fact that he was an evil (insert expletive) is irrelevant...

Now, for the actual discussion (sorry people!), Lupin keeping his head with Greyback and all those other werewolves: we can all agree that he's a very calm person, but, as people have mentioned, a calm persona can be shattered when the situation pushes.

QUOTE
he is a strong person who has more important things to worry about then revenge
I agree, but we have to consider that Lupin might...how can I put this...crack. I personally am hoping that he will. It might relieve some of the pressure we know he has and, besides, call me sadistic, but I want to see Lupin's more...angry or fierce or vengeful side. It would be very dramatic and eye opening to see a side of someone no one's seen. The only time we've seen Lupin's more vengeful side is in the Shrieking Shack...he might have better things to worry about than revenge now, but he certainly wanted to end Peter's life then! From that, we know that Lupin has that side to him.

Good points! dry.gif Also i was thinking maby he's just waiting, as a couple of you put it, byding his time, till he can get grey back. I mean he has shown that he can deal with presser and i think that that might be what he is doing it, lots of practise.
Onother point, why are other were wolfs listening to grey back when he bit so many of them! huh.gif I mean are you going to follow someone who ruined your life!!!!! seems a bit thick to me to follow some one who bit you in the first place!. Think about it like this, Yu get bit and you go live with other were wolves, You find out who bit and thier for annialated you from your friends, he starts talking about how you deserve better and that it'a the whole wizerding comunities fault.. blahblah.. And are you going to follow said person or hit them in the face with a rotten tomato?!!!? dry.gif

I agree that he will keep his cool, but sometime, it seems to me it would be the last battle, he will snap. He will be fighting death eater after death eater, and he will come across Greyback. mad.gif We all know how he wanted to kill Peter, and that was for betraying James and Lily. Now he comes into battle with the guy who bit him, causing him misery every full moon. A person can only keep his cool for so long. I think Lupin would snap during that last battle all the anger inside of him merging, and releasing, giving him the power to perform a very strong killing curse. Seeking revenge for the person who put him into so much pain, and agony, and seclusion. But until that final battle, he will keep calm. cool.gif

Peace,
Ginny happy.gif

Imean for some one who has no love or pitty or really just emotion that isn't the oppisit of love what can be worse then death? Do you guys have any ideas?
also i like the snapping idea!
But one has to say Poor Lupin. ~sighs~..

erm well this is what i think...
Lupin isn't fully calm... i mean he is very calm and much calmer then anybody else but when faced with his friend's killer he wanted revenge. So deep down i think that he would have wanted revenge. he cares more about others so his desire for revenge would proabably be burn more for his friends... did anyone get that? lol well i think that he would be thinking of others... he would be thinking that if he did get revenge he could possiably danger others as the word of him would be out and he could no longer track Greyback's movements. so i think in the back of his mind... somewhere... he would think rarely about it and in Greyback's presence for the first time he proabably have a burning hatred but he would be able to contain it... unsure.gif damn i forgot what i was meant to say...

Well I think that Lupin would be stupid to take on Greyback, we've seen just how poweful he is and I know that Lupin has too many people around him he loves and cares about him and I think unless it was a perfect moment, for eg. the final showdown when all is at stake and everyone is willing to sacrifice themselves.
I feel to try and attack and get his revenge on grey back before this time would be foolish, and Lupin in his logical thinking and level headedness I think would have used this reasoning. Also someone asked why the other werewolves haven't taken revenge on him, the same reason, he's too strong and I'm sure he could show them some benefits of being werewolves such as quenching their thirst for human blood so to speak when they were in that difficult state. And who else could you turn to if you felt like an outcast but those who are most like you and suffer the same problem.

It would be appropriate for him to try and kill him when the final war begins but not before then.

And I love Lupin because he just seems like a great guy, as a friend, father, boyfriend or husband, with the slight exception of the fury little problem he's just an all round level headed guy, who needs a hug, but I've already discussed this before so I'll stop now.

I know it's easy to think of Lupin as being 'above revenge', but he's just a man at the end. We really don't have any evidence to suggest that Lupin wants revenge, either. (But we do know he's scared of Greyback: when Harry asked about him, Lupin's hands closed "convulsively" in his lap.)

I personally want to find out more about the whole 'my father had insulted him' story. I remember reading that part and going 'Yes? Would you like to elaborate on that?!' dry.gif

i don't that is beyond Lupin... ,

he is just a man. i think that he may very have wanted revenge at the begining ... maybe not so uch now as he feels he could be the cause of people getting hurt.
QUOTE

lol well who wouldn't be scared? i know i would. well i think we all know that Lupin has courage... "working" for the very beast that turned him into what he is... still Lupin's great! and he would be different if Grey back never bit him.. anyways off that subject...

QUOTE

lol i feel the same... i mean what happened with Greyback and Lupin's dad that caused the beast to want revenge or to teach Lupin's dad a lesson. Anyways i think that if we ever find out we will find out in the last book.. der it's the only book left lol... but Lupin is meant to have quite a big part in it. maybe the secrets of his past will finally be unveiled!
i am still stuck on the fact that Greyback MUST know the name Lupin. Greyback wanted to teach Lupin's dad a lesson so i am pretty sure Greyback would have known the name of the person he wanted to sort-out!
