BOOK SEVEN SPOILERS WARNING

HGJL, I think that the Deathly Hallows could have something to do with the veil. Just and idea. Death=veil. I can see the relationship.

As for the elements. I think they must mean one of two things.

1) Either they are a ploy to get us thinking about something comletely not worth our time so that we get even more confused abot the 7th book.

or

2) They actually mean something. I hav a feeling it could do with Gryffindors abilities, like what the people sorted into those houses can do. Or maybe it's their strengths over weaknesses.

I have no idea, but this might be a thought. The elements can rule over others. Like water puts out fire. Fire burns earth. I don't know how air gets added into this. Anyone have any ideas? I'm kind of tired, so I don't really know it what I' saying makes any sense.

Any Ideas?

BOOK SEVEN SPOILER WARNINGS

Hey Gryffindors! So I had no idea what hallows meant, thanks to my rather limited voacbulary, so I looked it up on dictionary.com and there were two definitions.

[MOD EDITED] - defintions given in the official thread in the pre book seven forum.

I know these definitions don't really help much. It kind of seemed to me that she could have been referring to the horcruxes, they could probably be considered a scared object or something along those lines. Then of course they will have to lead to someones death so that is my take on it. happy.gif Hope that helped a bit!

BOOK SEVEN SPOILERS WARNING

I think that Hallows in this title is a noun, but the two definitions are an adjective and a verb..aren't they?
I mean...Deathly Hallows...holy is an adjective, right? And to respect is a verb...I tried to look it up yesterday too, but I just found holy..

Guys, before you take this any further, PLEASE read the spoiler policy. You are NOT supposed to be talking about this outside of the pre book seven discussion forum without putting spoiler warnings in your posts and using the spoiler tags.

I'm now going to have to take time out of my day to go edit your posts for you. I won't be happy if I have to do that again.

The Spoiler policy is in the rules forum. Please make the effort to read it before you make me cross, and I really don't want to be cross. Not this close to Christmas.

Thanks.

BOOK SEVEN SPOILER WARNING

I read the spoiler policy.
I also always thought that this refered to a noun. It just wouldn't make sense if it wasn't. I have a feeling JKR made up the word Hallows (or I have a limited vocabulary) to fit the title, because in every dictionary I looked, hallows is only a noun or adjective. I think that as a noun, it means a place that's holy or has something like that to do with it...which definitely brings me to the veil. After all, the veil is a port to the afterlife! What can be more holy than that? But that's just what I think.

BOOK SEVEN SPOILER WARNING

I think we should all go to the prebook 7 forms, and write our spoilers there. But first I must say that I agree with you that JK probably "made up" the word Hallow. Not making it up like a whole new word, but ceated a new meaning for it. I fnd it very interesting how JK just keeps confusing us and make us more and more pumped up to read book 7. Its all very exciting.

BOOK SEVEN SPOILER WARNING

Hallow....Godric HOLLOW. Maybe a little connection there! I don't know but I reckon that in the seventh book Harry finds something interesting about Godric Hollow.

Something about Godric Hollow has been creepy from the start! I just don't like it but I think something VERY important will happen there! I'm so intreged to know! I just can't wait another..six months or whatever it is. It's going to be kind of lonely once the series has finished sad.gif

*Spoiler Warning*

It is kind of foreboding, but its Hallow, not Hollow. Perhaps there is some sort of connection but it can't be from the terms. What do you think will happen if Harry returns there?

But Potter_Addict_713 is right, if you want to post more thoughts on the title, you can do it in the pre-book 7 discussion smile.gif

I hope there is nothing wrong with my computer. I am seeing a great deal of black. Were the posts edited? If so, does anyone have a new idea for a topic? My Slytherin brothers and I had a discussion about why Voldemort has not killed Wormtail. He is such an obvious security risk that it seems unquestionable to let him live. A lie about a betrayal would satisfy the curiosity of the Death Eaters quite nicely.

After The Burial, you don't have a problem with your computer. It is for the spoilers as they must put their text in black fill colour so people who don't want to read the information displayed, can't see it with out high lighting it. That's why you are seeing so much black. I know I'm not a Moderator but, It is important information that you wanted (and needed) to know. Although, they have already been told to put this information in the pre-book 7 discusion.

New Topic Idea... I say we should talk about... The greatest game on the planet.... Polo! So thata is the converstaion starter and If you don't like it, you can just wait untill we are finished talking about all the aspects of polo. laugh.gif

Polo? Polo?! POLO?!?!?!

What is Polo?!

I don't know, is it Water Polo? Is it that Polo with the stick, and you hit a ball?! Ahh, Polo-ness is overwhelming me! Please, explain what the hell the sport Polo is, because I am dying to know.

polo. hi-larious! laugh.gif

if hogwarts was to close down, would future students have to go to international schools? or would they be taught by their parents? because think about it....imagine all our schools being shut down. what would we do with an uneducated society? i assume the wizarding world would be in the same predicament! ohmy.gif

Merry Christmas!!!!! santa.gif

Anyway, I would think most students would be home-schooled because it would be too difficult and expensive to send them to another school in a different country.
