Well Happy Birthday Severus Snape
a present for Snape? what can a Lupin give to a Snape? well so far the gifts have been great and amusing! well i would have said something such as a wish but as my sister (lol) has already said that i feel stuck as all the other ideas are great too!
well first of all i would buy him a new potion set or something lol with a load of ingrediants oh that is boring!! lol i need something more intresting...
i could give him Clara lol but then that would spark alot of confilct between most of the girls!
then again i could give him his daughter back... the one that "doesn't" even exist...
okay my gift... Felix Felicis, so he could finally have some good luck or an extra penisive for all those... bad memories

1: is Snape afraid of heights? I heard he was. As someone mentioned earlier, he flew a broom to referee at a Quid match, but he only did it once. Now I'm confused.
lol i don't know is he?

2: I don't know why I was wondering this, but what type of drunk would Snape be? Happy, sad, angry, sleepy, quiet, etc.?
i think i drunk Snape would sort-of be all over the place; stumbleing etc and i can imagine people laughing at him and then some people slowly coming to terms with the fact that he isn't with it. i think he would be sadder, i don't know why but i just think that. actually i had a dream about this once - it was staff party or something. Snape had been down and in more of a bad mood that day but the events of the day are not as intresting. well anyway... he got drunk and was stumbling all over the place in a sort-of Jack Spaorrow type way and he kept saying things about Voldermort and his family etc and then he fell over and grabbed on a table cloth on the way down so a load of glasses and such fell down with him. Some teachers were laughing and then Lupin turned around and helped him up... Snape sort-of shook him off and walked off in a mood. Lupin then said something like "You heard what he said didn't you?" to a slightly out of his head Dumbledore.
well happy birthday! that proably doesn't mean much coming from a Lupin...

Okay, I know this doesn't have to do with Snape's Birthday, but did Jo have a Happy Birthday Lord Voldemort thing on her website on Dec 31st? Does anyone know? I only ask, because if she didn't, and she does have one for Sevvie, maybe there is a clue there? I know I'm jumping the gun, and I should get the answer to my first question before speculating, but anyway there's my question for you all.

Woot! Severus! Happy birthday!
Hmm, for your birthday... Shelter from us. Perhaps a train ticket to visit Alan Rickman, so you two can have a chat. He's a smart man, I think you'll enjoy it. (Even though you would never admit it!)
ROFL!!! Laurette I loved this one! I personally think that Snape would have to admit that Alan Rickman is a pretty good looking guy
For his birthday, I'd like to give him a partner in crime. Someone in the order who understands and appreciates what he does for them, however could also be a spy and who Voldemort believes is on his side. It can go further if necessary into a romantic aspects- how many people would be volunteering for THAT position - however more just someone who is ultimately a 'friend'.
As to the drunkeness--- I reckon that Snape would be a pretty dangerous drunk. One of those who would be stumbling about a corridor muttering incoherantly under his breath, pointing his wand at whatever is in the way and ehh... removing it
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEVERUS!! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, I love you dear Sevvy, Happy Birthday to you! WooT!
Personally I don't know what i would get him for his birthday. Probably something personal, something that I know he would like. Perhaps a book or some extra buttons... As for Snape drunk...*laughs*I bet he would be really fun and giddy. Pixymajik~ LOVE your signature!!

in the nick of the time once again. Today, very very early, I was the first and now I'm the last to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Severus.
About birthday gift ...Severus isn't attached to materials things, he is even a very powerful wizard and doesn't need anything ... you can give him not-material things like love, respect, friendship or all our help to save himself.
dear baz I too have tought ha was afraid of heights and because of vertigo marauders called him coward (do it seems too ff?) ...
passerby But he has flown on a broomstick! He was the referee for a game where Gryffindor played against Hufflepuff!!
dear passerby I swear by the books (because I didn't see the movies) I never infered quiddich's referees have to fly, I always have imagined them on the ground, but confess: quiddich's matchs pages aren't my favourite
I have seen much of you aren't sure about if a quiddich's referee have to fly or haven't. Can someone of you say a final word on this subject?
dear baz n°2 I think Snape's hangover would be sad or (like mine) sleepy.
dear witchmom we two could register to a bellydance school and lose weight before 9 january 2008 ... snape's face in that fanart is WONDERFUL

Happy B-Day Severus. Thank-you for giving me an excuse to take this day off like last year! I was going to see your wannabe in the movie 'Perfume' this afternoon, but in a freak case of good/bad luck the hot water heater blew it’s pressure valve. What mega good luck I was still home to save the day the moment it happened and prevent an epic disaster. So I henceforth name my new $1,100 water tank Severus Snape. Woo-hoo!
I would've like to have seen him on the broomstick. I'm pretty sure the ref would see better in the air. The book also has him wearing green supporting the Slytherin team during a match.

Happy Birthday, Severus!
(I like to spread birthday wishes out throughout the day, just to keep things even. That, and I'm a procrastinator.)
What I would give Snape for his birthday: Wow, what a tricky question! Tricky because I can see that the Severus we know from the books would probably sneer down his nose at most of the conventional gifts we could think of. Flowers-in the fire. A Card- in the garbage. Clothes-in the back of the closet. . . I like the ideas that have come up thus far (even Clara's unofficial belly-dancing one which would be worth it just to see the look on his face!) The vacations are a splendid idea, of course, because he surely could use a little time away from everything and everyone! The Felix Felicis is a good idea, too, but of course he could probably brew that up better than we ever could! See! He's so hard to shop for!
So. . . I think I'd go with two things, if I had all the galleons: 1. A rare book. I'm not sure what subject it would cover because I know he has so many interests that we just have seen! Given my current mood, it would probably be an antiquated book of poetry. And 2. An original painting. I'd probably go with a Waterhouse because he's my favorite. Perhaps this one, because it, although the subject is feminine, it reminds me of him. (Circe Invidiosa, 1892). . .once I wrestled it away from Australia, that is.

This wasn't in the movie. As far as I know, Rickman-Snape has never been on a broomstick.
EDIT: Just having a bit of fun on our last day. . .Here are some amusing Snape-related links.
and last but not least, and no where near as nice as Clara's, but this one is just awesome! (All of this artist's workis really good. I mean, look at the pretty!) GAH! Having WAY too much fun at this site. . . check this one out. BEAUTEOUS! And this one of Bella is just so hillarious! (Wait for it . . .)

Yeah, leaveoneee, we love him and we have also strong reasons for it...it's not a matter of how he looks, because the guy is quite...unattractive at first, physically speaking (I'm not talking about Alan Rickman of course...).
We are all, more or less, fascinated by his personality. If you take a look in the thread you'll realize that we are not a group of squeeing fangirls (ok, ok, just a bit, I admit it!!!) - well, not ONLY a group of fangirls. We explore his behavior, his temper, his mind....his great talents.
I'm sure that you would learn to like him if you stay for a while!!

Can anyone explain (saving me some tedious searches...) why Snape, who in no way strikes me as an unclean person (quite the opposite) nonetheless always has, always has had totally greasy hair?
He actually strikes me as somewhat fastidious. So what is with the hair in the end?

Well,Ii found myself incredibly confused when the announcement reached veritaserum about our lovely Professor's birthday (whoot, I love being back), it was posted on the ninth and said it was a belated birthday wish, and as I am constantly unable to reach J.K. Rowling's site at the moment, I've had no clarification... as I completely ignore the Lexicon, which I just realized...
Oh wow, I feel silly. But that's just the effect Mr. Rickman has on me. I am determined to see Perfume by the way, whether I am allowed to r not by dear mother. Because I am simply rebellious and look convincingly older due to my height. Hint hint. Oh, dear, I am setting a bad example.
Must note my birthday is on the 19th, hopefully will turn out better than it's predecessors. I am turning 16 after all. (Young, I know, but I started the original at like 14... eww, never realized...)
And, wow, I'm expecting redemption from Snape in the 7th book (in spite of his evilness making him ever more sexy), even if there is none, I will convince myself that he ended up on the Light. It's the insanity caused by SOS, Snape Obsessed Syndrome.
Okay, done with rambling, congrats on starting Volume Two thread. You guys keep it alive, ignoring the fact that I never come anymore... blame homework...

Hello, S.O.S.S. members. Have you recovered from the hangover after Snape's birthday party?
Anyway, the Snapeweek has successfully come to an end. I want to collect some posts and quotes and put them on S.O.S.S. site... I am a bit sad because we had so much fun, and I felt Snape very close...his presence was almost tangible.
The Fanfic Challenge is still on, so please feel free to contribute again if you've already posted your part of the story.
I am looking forward to Alan Rickman's Week, the RICKMANIA . It will take place from January 27 to February 2 (Alan's bday). I'm making an official announcement: I need a close coworker, because I admit I'm not an Alan expert, and I really need help for it. So, candidates PM me please!!!
Now let's answer to the last questions:
1: is Snape afraid of heights?
I think that we imagine him more at ease with Apparating than flying, and that's why he doesn't need to fly. We don't actually see many of the Professors on a broom. I don't remember seeing Minerva, or Albus on a broom. Maybe it's part of a wizard education but it's not surely an obligation. Anyway, if the book says that he's been a referee in a Quidditch match, he is able to fly, and well I'd say, because to arbitrate a match you must follow the game closely.
2: I don't know why I was wondering this, but what type of drunk would Snape be? Happy, sad, angry, sleepy, quiet, etc.?
I think that drinking would relax him a bit. I mean, maybe his wits would be more pungent and ironic than ever, but at least he would become more friendly. A drunk Snape...the first thing I have in mind is to take advantage of him (wicked! wicked woman!! ). What do you think? just to let him sign my contract as a Potions Lab assistant.

Pumpkinjuice, his hair is NOT greasy . No, really. I think that his hair are only apparently greasy. Maybe potions and fumes have this effect on his hair, or maybe he washes it too often!! But, you wouldn't expect a boy to see shiny, thin hair as pretty; and we see Snape, at least at first, through Harry's eyes.

Wednesday, you know that having you here is always a honour. You started the whole thing a lot of time ago and the thread is still very active! So please, try to drop in a bit more often, having you here is great !
I think that we all here are hoping and crossing fingers for Snape being good. I have developed my own attitude towards the whole matter...I am going to ignore the seventh book if Snape is going to die or to turn out to be evil. There's always fanfiction, there's our world to continue Snape's dream... I won't let JKR ruin my image of Snape that SHE contributed to create through her writings. She can't simply build a character, making him interesting and complex, brave and mysterious, talented and smart, then say "Ta-dahhhh!!! your hero is a true criminal who has cheated on the Good long ago, and has betrayed all those who trusted him for at least 20 years!!" No, I'm not going to accept it.

Yes, denial is quite easy to master, especially with fanfiction at our sides. I am a constant believer in it, and I will continue it after the dreadful end of Harry Potter mania (consisting of expecting movies and books, in that sense). But I do dreadfully look forward to the 7th book, and there will be quite a bit of nostalgia when I have finished, and after I see the 7th movie. But that won't end my unhealthy obsession.
As for the questions (boy, do I love questions), I must answer them with my views:
1: is Snape afraid of heights? I doubt it, being referee in the first book consisted of flying in the air amnd avoiding bludgers from the Weasley twins (who probably had knocking him off his broom lingering in the back of their minds), which is quite a feat. But I doubt he played Quidditch during school, a good deal of playing for your House is popularity, which he did not have.
2: I don't know why I was wondering this, but what type of drunk would Snape be? Happy, sad, angry, sleepy, quiet, etc.? I figured at first he would be bitter and snarky (lovely qualities in my opinion), but that's not much of a difference to his usual demeanor, and doesn't alcohol change a person. Certainly makes them honest... Well, I wouldn't know as I am 15 and knowing would be illegal... Anyhow, I could also see him as calm, like witchmom said, and perhaps more witty. I like that idea, I shall stick to it in my next story.
I hope to drop by more often, but no promises, due to the upcoming exams and my less than desirable grade in Biology (I'd probably be doing better in Chemistry *twitchy winking*). Haha, so keep doing what you're doing gals, I never expected this much progress coming out of another one of my selfish posts.
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
