I've been really desperate for a topic thats *specifically* about the Marauders. (Them being my favorite characters and all ) And I've noticed that a lot of people are huge fan of them also. So here it is! Presenting: The Unofficial Marauder Fan Club!! You can talk about whatever you want here, as long as it's about the Marauders. And all you gotta do to join (like in SPELL) is love them! (Which i'm sure a lot of you do )

So lets have fun discussing the infamous and legendary Marauders!

Oh boy, where should I start??

I think I'll go over some points while I'm here:

Fanfiction - I would seriously love to see some fanfics about the Marauders. I mostly read L/J (Lily/James - a term you should get familiar with ) So if any of you have recently read a really awesome one, then feel free to post it up. (It doesn't matter which ship as long as it has an Marauder in it) Or if you're writing fanfiction, you can post it up and I'll DEFITINLY read it, as well as review it. I do recommend the one in my siggie (Lily Evans: A History) It's L/J, and it's *the best* fanfic I have ever read (in all categories, not just hp) so I highly, highly recommend you check it out. Not only does the author protray the Marauders perfectly (she's got a great Sirius qoute where he goes: "I'm Sirius Black. Didn't pick the name ) but she also doesn't rush into the romance (as in no Lily and James making out in the second chapter ) There's another one I should reccomend, but I want to get on with other things.

Fanart - Don't we all want to see Marauder fanart? I've been dying for good ones, but either they're too big, or they're not how I imagined the Marauders. So if you draw (and even if you don't ) then I'd LOVE for you to post some of it. Also, if you can make avatars and things for siggies, then PLEASE post it, because there aren't a lot of good sites. While we're on the topic, does anybody know of any good sites? I've spent hours on end looking for one, but most people are more into the trio than the Marauders! And if anyone could make anything for this particular club, that would be FANTASTIC! (avatar making isn't my specialty...)

Topics - You can talk about whatever you want on here as long as it has to do with the Marauders. And to get us going on topics (because it worked on SPELL) I'll start us off with a few good questions that I've been wondering...(and feel free to add in your own things, or get us started on good discussions)

3) I was thinking of asking this later on, but it's something I'm really interested in: Do you have any suggestions for people to play one of the Marauders in the 5 movie. If so, who is it, (which actor) who should they play, (which Marauder) and could you post a website with their picture (since you can't post pictures)

Good idea! Ever since Snape's memory, I've been really interested in knowing more about the Marauders and Lily during their "glory days".

I'd have to say my favorite is Lupin, followed very closely by Sirius.

And on the last topic, I have no idea who I'd like to play them in the movie. I'd have to think about that a little harder.

Hey, thats not fair! I was gonna go into a long detailed reasoning for my love of Sirius, and how I became a fan, etc, and I come on here and y'all are typing one sentence answers! Taking the easy way out, now? Lol, I'm just kidding.

You can type one setence answers all you want. Or even one word answers. I don't care.

As for my answers....

1) Who's your favorite Marauder and why? (You CAN say Peter, but he IS the reason one of our beloved Marauders isn't around any more )

Oh DEFINITLY Sirius. (As you read above) Why? Because he is just so awesome, and I have this picture of how he was. I imagine him and James as the troublemakers of Hogwarts. Much like the Weasley twins. I'll bet he was charming and really funny back then, and I bet they joked around a lot and liked to tease each other. Mostly my image of him was created from the fanfic I posted. And he's got grey eyes, which is BEYOND cool, and he's also somewhat "dark and mysterious" (as I like to believe) which is good for the "brooding, angsty" type guy, but still cheerful. And he's got longish hair (which I like on guys). Plus he's British and therefore has the accent, immediatly making him incredibly awesome. And he was probably really outgoing and loud and was getting into detention a lot and yet at the same time, he was BRILLIANT. He probably got almost all his OWLS and barely had to study...I mean, what's there NOT to like?

2) When'd you become a Marauder fan?

(I think my grammar was off there... ) Anyway...Oh, um probably after reading Snapes Worst Memory. There was something about the way JKR described them together. Like Sirius leaning back in his chair, seeming carefree and self confident, and how they gave each other thumbs up. And when they're talking to Remus about the wolf question....I could go on forever. I just loved them after that chapter. And I read it after I finished....over...and over....and over.... No, I'm just kidding, not THAT much heh...heh...heh... Well anyway, I've been a HUUUUGE fan since then. I'd have Marauder stuff plastered all over my siggies if only I could find them! *nudges siggie makers* come on! I'd love to see some avatar makers around here!

Before I was a fan: I have this memory...of after the fourth book came out (before I was such a huge hp fan. I became one after the fifth book, when I was older and appreciated better things ) We'd gone over to my moms friends place, and theres a girl there who LOVED hp and loved the marauders (good early taste, ya know? ) And we were playing cards, and she told us we were each one. Lets see...

Me - Lily Evans
My brother - James Potter (lol, our characters weren't together yet, so it wouldn't have seemed wrong )
Hannah (the girl) - Sirius (of course)
Her friend - Remus

And then she made her little brother Wormtail, which was evil. But hilarious at the same time (now that I remember. I wasn't really sure who Wormtail was at the time.) I was so confused though! We were like...

hannah - hey Wormtail, how're things?
me - whos Wormtail?
Hannah - *nudges her brother* him
me - Wait a minute...I thought he was Peter
her friend - he is Peter
me - but how can he be...?
her friend - Thats his nickname, he's an animigus.
her brother - What's an animigus?
Hannah - Its an....ugh, nevermind...

ha ha, good times, good times I'm gonna go on forever if I don't stop now...

My favorite Marauder? Oh, totally Sirius. All the way Sirius. He's just that snazzy. Second would be Lupin, and then James, because he was such a pompous brat in "Snape's Memory" he lost a few points in my book.

I've been a Marauders fan ever since Sirius entered the series. He was one of the greatest characters I have ever seen. I miss him dearly.

Oh, and I know an authoress who writes AMAZING L/J fiction, I'll try to find her for you all!

I had a HUGE beef with who were chosen to play Lupin and Sirius, and I never really figured out who was playing James and Pettigrew. I was kind of like, "Oh, god, I'm in the Twilight Zone." Who I think should have been chosen for the roles...

Sirius Black: Johnny Depp

Why, you may ask? Well, despite the fact that Johnny Depp has more charisma than any actor in ANY of these films, he's what I imagined Sirius to look like. Dirty, worn-in, but still good-looking. And what I got was Gary-freaking-Oldman, who is in no way, shape, or form slightly attractive. Come on, people. Gary OLDman? I was very upset with this bit.

Remus Lupin: Paul Bettany

This may not be as clear as the above choice, but here it goes: I always thought that Lupin would ALSO be fairly attractive. I thought he'd have more of a suttle appearance, though, which Paul Bettany has offered numerous times. I was dissappointed with the casting for this role, too.

James Potter: Erm...I didn't mind the dude in the films...

Peter Pettigrew: anyone other than the guy they picked

I really hope I wasn't the only one annoyed with that guy...whoever he was...that played Wormtail. A note to the casting director: When Jo says he was "RAT-LIKE," she doesn't mean he looks exactly like a rat.

good point 'bout oldman. it think it was a good look for a post-azzie(azkaban), but like you said, what are they going to have to work with for once he get's cleaned up and all?! the guy who played lupin was ok, but that got'eish mustaush thing was freaky. and as you said, they took Jo a little to literaly on wortail's decripition. on james though, that's a whole different story. oh....dear....lord....the 'james' in harry's photo on his bedsidetable was just another way arfonso ripped...the whole....freaking...thing....into...shreads!!!!(gets steadily more violent at every ...) i mean, in the 'photo' he as friggin red hair!!!!! Seriously, is that supposed to be JAMES???!!!! ok. i'll stop now. just needed to get that out of my system. whew! lol well, i did think the actors they used in SS for the mirror of erised were really good. they should've stuck with them.

Okay firstly, kipsy, you really should have contacted a mod first before opening a club (refer to rule #11).

There is incidentally already a Marauders club in the forums but because of lack of response/activity it died a natural death. Anyways, that club was catering more towards female forums members so lucky save there, otherwise I'd have locked this.

Secondly, us mods will be keeping a close watch on the posts in here for a bit - take it as this club is under "probation" for the moment. The reason behind this is because this club seems almost a shadow of SPELL, we were honestly very hesitant at allowing this club to continue.

BUT we've decided to give y'all a fair go. However, take heed that if the discussions in here turn into something that could easily have been carried out at SPELL, then this club is pretty much redundant giving us mods no choice but to close it.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'll let youse all get back to it then...

oh boy, probation is it? I was afraid of this....I'll try and keep topics off things that you can talk about in SPELL. The problem is that I'm not entirely sure what consists of SPELL topics. I haven't gotten time to read through all the seven pages let alone, the 30 other pages that you have, so I'll need a little help here. This is for talking about Marauders and thier lives, does that count as SPELL discussion?

Anyway, I'm at school and i'm not really supposed to be on here, but I thought it'd be importnat to address that...

Who is your favourite Marauder and Why?

I don't really have a favourite marauder because I like them all. If i had to pick I would pick Lupin because he is kind of like the good and sneaky one of them. that and i just really like him. I also think that he has a secret that he is keeping from people. I also think that he is a great character.


When did you become a marauder fan?

I became a marauder fan when i first read the third book. I was really interested (and still am) about how they made the marauders map and how they got all of the information. They are some of my favourite character.



Do you have suggestions on who should play the marauders in movie number 5?

I really like who they have playing them right now. i think that David Thewlis is great fo rLupin because he is what i pictured Lupin to be. Gary Oldman is great for Sirius because he brings something to the movie that makes it interesting. Also when Sirius is cleaned up in movie 5 i think that he will look great. The only on i don't like is Timothy Spall as Pettigrew. i don't like him because he looks to much like a rat.
