Green Day is the best! The are soooo cool... Then, it's Simple Plan, thant, well, I don't know (but it's not Kane West, Usher, Eminem, Jessica Simposon, 50 Cent, The Killers, Hedley or Black Eyed Peas).

I voted other because I think Delta Goodrem, The Veronicas, ABBA and The Corrs are the best bands/singers. They heve the best songs like 'Out of the Blue' '4eva' 'Mumma Mia' and 'Forgiven Not Forgotten'.
I voted for other as I'm a die-hard fan of Rush. Not the trediest of bands I'll admit, but to keep going for over 30 years and still come up with the goods must stand for something.
Wow, that has to be the greatest mainstream list I've ever seen. If I were to look on itunes' top 100 song list, I'm sure all those bands would be on it.
So I voted other and by my avatar, you could guess my band is Live. They are just amazing, please listen to some of their songs if you haven't. However, their are so many other bands that I could've picked. Second would probably be the RX Bandits (a great ska band.)
I do agree with you though Slain; that Rush is a great band as well. Their drummer (his name escapes me) is definitely the greatest drummer of all time. His solo's in 2112 are incredible.

Whoot for R30 coming out on DVD! I don't think I'd vote Geddy Lee (bassist/singer for Rush for the poor saps that don't know what I'm blathering about right now) up for best voice, unfortunately. He's very much an acquired taste. The drummer's name is Neil Peart...I have so much love for him.
I voted other because I don't really care for any of the listed bands. There are a lot of great voices out there, so it's pretty hard to pick just one. Bjork's good if you like Icelandic voices...they have such a weird purity. I can never describe what they sound like, they're so beautiful and enigmatic. Peter Gabriel's got a killer, killer voice. It's expressive, pure, and unique. Freddy Mercury, of course, had one of the very best voices in rock: maluable and powerful but still very controllable. Bruce Dickinson (from Iron Maiden, one of many frontmen) has a great voice for metal: powerful, fierce, but exciting. I'd second the vote for Kate Bush: very dramatic and powerful. Andy Partridge (from XTC) for pure uniqueness. I've never heard a voice like Andy's...it has a tone to it I've never heard and can't begin to describe. If you've ever heard "No Language In Our Lungs" you'd probably know what I was talking about. For sheer unqiueness again, I'd probably vote for Dicky Barret (from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones)...edgy, powerful, and, well, just a little weird. His voice leaps out and bites you. Jon Anderson (from Yes) has an amazing voice as well. He's sixty-one and I heard him two years ago in concert and his voice still is really pure. He's got a very unique voice as well; it glimmers and has a tone almost similar to Andy Partridge's, except higher and clearer. I'm going to quit now or I'll over take the forum.

I voted 'other' because the Backstreet Boys are my absolute favorite group ever. I mean it might be given by my signature, but thought I would reply about it anyways.
I voted other because I think U2, Witness UK, Switchfoot, Coldplay, Bond, Josh Grobin, and Remy Zero have the best music! Witness UK rocks, U2 has such great music, Switchfoot have such tallented band members, Bond cause they have such a different and great sound, Josh Grobin because his voice is so amazing, Coldplay because their song 'Clocks' is so good, and Remy Zero for their song 'Save Me', which is the theme song for my favorite show 'Smallville'!
Who's your favorite character, ile_ramone? Mine's Lex Luther and Clark Kent, of course. It is the best show! Anyway I also like Green Day's 'Wake Me When September Ends'!

Okay guys, as much as I like Smallville, you need to stay on topic. There's already a thread on Smallville in the TV and Media section.

I like the Bosstones as well, Dick does have a pretty unique voice, which is what makes them stand out mostly.
I like a lot of ska bands of which RX Bandits are among my favorites. Matt Embree's lyrics are superb and they are complemented by a great horn section. Their music flows very well and is always very powerful.
On Live, their best song (and my all-time favorite) has got to be "Lightning Crashes". A pure rock ballad that starts out very soft and works its way up to a loud and breath-taking finish.
