If you noticed, which I am sure you did, then Neville had no big role in this book. Possibly explained as 'the silence before the storm', because I think that it might be even possible Harry-Ron-Hermione will not be the only ones who won't return to Hogwarts. Neville has his own revenge to do. Pay back for HIS parents to Bellatrix. I think revenge will be one important bit in the book 7...

So, do you think that Neville will go after Bellatrix and what is the BIG importance of Neville?

I don't know if I entirely agree that nevile hasn't had much exposure in this book. He had a lot in the Hogwwarts Express, also he is mentioned frequently by his relationship with his grandmother (on the train, in the newspaper and also when talking to McG about doing Transiguration).

As I've said before though, I don't think that we've seen the last of characters like Luna and Neville...

hmmm....Neville going all crazy on Bellatrix like Anakin did to those Sand People in Episode II after discovering his mom....I can actually see him going after her. Maybe not alone, like the thrio may become a foresome (for some odd reason). Like maybe Harry discoveres anotehr Horcrux so the four of them go, and meet Bellatrix along the way. They all fight her, but Neville does the final blow?

I really don't feel that Neville has the pure strength of hatred to kill anyone. We've seen what happened when he was confronted with his parents torturer, but he has always seemed to be more depressed than vengeful about their condition.

I don't think that it is in Neville's nature to kill

He's always seem good to me and I doubt that he'll go ballistic and kill the Lestranges. Though I would understand it

By revenge I most certainly don't mean "kill". I mean "send to Azkaban". Or something. None of them has murder blood.

And to come to think of it...even Harry is not able to kill. Maybe. If there is this big importance for Pettigrew then maybe...there are other ways to kill Voldemort.

yeah, Azkaban, then Neville would try everything to get them there.

Somehow I think that Neville and Harry will "take care" of the Lestranges. They did cause great tragedies for them both.

Somewhere along Harry's "trip", Neville will meet with the trio and help them

Oh don't underestimate neville's anger. Go a reread OotP, the part where Neville is face to face with Bellatrix. He is livid. He has a STRONG desire to fight. Also when he made the off the hand comment about how people should know what the death eaters are capable of, after Harry did the interview for the Quibbler.

I see Neville as someone who will be a force to be reckoned with in 7. He has the desire, the abililty (seen in DA meetings) and the motive. No, I don't see him as a killer. I se him as one who would use his knowledge to his gain. Neville is good at herbology, right? Well, they have some intersting plants in the wizarding world. I see him using that strength to the Order's advantage. Not sure how really...but he could step one heck of a trap for anyone who thought they could sneek up on them! It's just fun imagining Bellatrix and a few others writhing around after being caught up in a nasty Devil's snare or some other wicked plant that holds them tightly. While Neville steps back and watches them struggle. His grandmother would be so very proud!

Neville has a lot more to him, since the beginning of theseries he has played a role in the books, more than other characters. He also liked the DA meetings because he had something there that gave him confidence. I have a feeling he will take revenge, even though he is the quiet sort of person. blink.gif

NONE of the kids will KILL anybody. It just wouldn't be right. It would put them in the same position the Death Eaters are. Even revenge is no reasonfor killing people. That's not what Dumbledore has taught them...

I am fine with everybody who thinks Neville will send Bellatrix to Askaban. I am fine with everybody who thinks Harry will _accidently_ kill Voldemort, like making a spell rebounce or falling into him making him fall trough the veil or whatever.

But those kids are no killers! There is so much moral in the books - I seriously doubt that JK would go that far making Harry even to Voldemort in the end...

Neville is and has been of utmost importance when it comes to life and death situations. he was at the DoM and fighting the DE's in the HBP. If theres anyone who thinks Neville hasn't proved himself in battle then you need to read the last few chapters of the last 2 books.

I would say that after seeing all these "kids" grow up in the 6 books, we would have thought they had grown up. They have become adults now. These past 6 years, they have lived in fear of the Death Eaters and Voldemart. They have decieved them on countless ocassions, learned how to defeat them. Agreed that some of them might not have it in them to kill. like Ron and Hermione, maybe even Neville, but Harry certainly does. His parents were murdered. His godfather, the closest thing he had to a parent was killed. And now his protector, Albus Dumbledore, was backstabbed and killed. I can just imagine the rage he has inside him. even im boiling lol. We have seen Harry attempt the "crucio" curse many times, and that was just against Snape and Bella. Imagine what he wants to do to, Voldemart, the cause for Harry's miserable life. No, im sure he will attempt the curse at Voldemart, maybe even Bella and Snape. As for Neville, im sure we have yet to see something out of him. He is very much like Harry, the prophecy could have even meant Neville. He is sure to serve a crucial purpose.

I believe Neville will become a really important character in book 7. Look how much he grew in book 5, specially taking on Death Eaters. I honestly believe that Neville will most likely go along with Harry, Ron, and Hermoine in finding the Horcruxes. No I don't believe Neville has it in him to kill Bellatrix, but he doesn't have to; he could just torture he into insanity as well. Remember the old saying, never trust the silent ones.

Don't get me wrong I like Neville, but since I know Wormtail I started recognizing lots of things they have in common. Like Neville isn't really a part of the group he is and always has been an outsider.........he admires Harry for his bravness and Hermione for her cleverness, but what does he have? Do you think that Neville might turn bad? Do you think that's the reason that he was hardly mentioned in book 6?

NEVER!!!!! Never, Never!!!!!!

I think that Neville was not mentioned much this book to allow him to get stronger without us noticing.

He did come immediately when the DA was called to help.

I think that Neville will be the one to kill Bellatrix, and he will need lots of strength and ability to do so.
