I wonder how much of Harry's stay at Grimmauld Place they will
put in the movie?
In the book they stayed there for a pretty long time, cleaning and
spying on the Order. Hopefully they will get back to Hogwarts a
little faster in the movie.
Also, how much of Kreacher are we going to see? He has a pretty
big part in the book, for a House Elf.
And hopefilly they will keep the part where Harry talks to Lupin and
Sirius (via fireplace) about how his Dad tortured Snape while at
Hogwarts.

as long as they show that pensieve scene I could care less about what they cut

I would love to see how they make number 12 appear, and i was looking forward to seeing what the set designers were going to put together. But, as we all know, some things must be cut, and i really hope that the house is in the movie for at least, 5 minutes. It would make more sense during the 6th movie then, when he inherits the house, if the audience has seen the house at least once before

i hope the scenes they do at grimmauld place do last longer than 5 minutes. Its quite abig part of the plot and so much time is spent there. I cant wait to see what it looks like. I'm so excitied i cant wait for the film.

i hope they put few scenes from grimmauld place... i don't really care that much about the cleaing scenes or stuff that aren't really important... but they should have them trying to listen into the meeting and where sirius tells them about what they know about voldemort
i'm really excited to see the set of grimmauld place... i hope it's very similiar to the book's description

well, i hope they do show grimmauld place! i never thought that they could cut it...but it's possible after all... i hope they do show it, as it is harry's in HBP and the order's headquarters... it would be interesting to see the headquarters! and after the meeting when everyont still talks about things... i think there you could just feel that there's a battle going on... not yet in the open, but it's rumbling somewhere below.

I don't think they'll do much at Grimmauld Place. You know how much they rush the beginning of every movie. They'll probobly only make a few scenes there, and make those scenes really small.
lita_bav
Jul 20 2006, 02:38 AM
I can see them cutting Kreatcher out completly.
Also I think they will only have 1 or two short order scenes.
It sucks but they do have a budget and time constraints.
Long live Sirius
Jul 21 2006, 05:04 AM
As long as they put in "Snape's worst memory" and where Harry yells at Dumbledore after Sirius dies (long live Sirius!). But I would like to see Grimmauld Place. So we will see what happens.

Well, they might not do Grimmauld Place at the beginning, but at Christmas they will, or atleast I hope they will because it will look fantastic. They will atleast do some part of Grimmauld Place. But I bet they won't show Mrs Blacks' portrait. I would love to see that too.

I would really like to see they way that 12 grimmauld place is displayed/portrayed. I think it would be really, very interesting to see it shown in a way that it captures how creepy the place is described as in the book. Because it plays such an important role in the book im pretty sure it will be included.

If they decide to go ahead with the Hearing at the Ministry, then they would have to show Grimmauld Place because that's the place from which Harry and Mr. Weasley depart, wouldn't they? I can see the film starting like this: the Dementor attack, then the owls back at Privet Drive (good movie humor, I think), then the advance guard showing up to get Harry, then a quick scene at Grimmauld Place where Harry sees Sirius, then the Hearing, and from there to the Hogwarts Express.
For those of you who haven't seen, check
this out. This is the confirmed cast of OotP. I don't see Moody or Firenze on there

, but then again, I don't see Dumbledore or Snape either

so don't be discouraged!
Personal note: I just hope they include the scene from St. Mungo's with Lockhart. I have reread that part so many times and it's still hilarious!

[size=7]may contain spoilers for book seven.
[size=1]i believe that they will show 12 grimmauld place because so many things happen there even the cleaning is important cause to my personal belife a horkrux is found.and the pixi scene is just so exciting as for ron and hermione getting the prefects badge that has to be done or there will be no party and that has vital information.

Aug 4 2006, 09:59 PM
Good call,
tincho! I totally forgot about the
Prefect Badges scene! That HAS to be included in the films. In my previous post in this thread I said there would be a brief scene at Grimmauld Place after the advance guard takes Harry from Privet Drive and before Harry goes to his hearing at the
Ministry of Malcontent. Given what you've just brought up, there probably will be a quick scene after the hearing at Grimmauld Place where Ron and Hermione get their badges. That will be good for the film, I think. Well spotted!

Thank you zopheal! But i belive it will actually be a good while in the movie because it is about five chapters. and if you remember for those who have read ootp on pg# 116 the last parragraph it talks abouta heave loket that no one could open and i beleve that that is the horcrux(i think that is how you spell it) so i think that that would have to be in the movie if it is the horcrux that way when harry remembers in book/movie7 we no what he is talking about
Spencer Potter
Aug 5 2006, 05:00 AM
YES!! Someone who thought that was a horcrux too, I just read over because I swore I rememberd hearing over a locket and then in the 6th book a locket horcrux, and finally I found it, Good, because I thought that was a horcrux too.
oldman_fan
Aug 5 2006, 06:33 AM
That would make sense, wouldn't it? If R.A.B is Regulus Black, and he stole the real Horcrux from the potion-filled basin in the cave, he may have just taken it home and put it in the case. Then Number 12 Grimmauld Place would figure strongly in the plot, so they would almost have to show a bit of it. I hope they do, because since I read OotP, I've been dying to see what the set designers come up with for it.

I really hope they make some important scenes at Grimmauld-place, because I think it's an important place...I mean it's the headquarter of the phoenixorder!
But when I look at it realistically, I think they will only make one or two (maybe three) scenes there, if at all.
I could imagine them just mention it, or something.
I hope it isn't so!

i think the house has gr8 signifiganc seen as it is the headquaters of the order so i tink it shld at least show sirius telling harry n co about the order nd wt voldermrtds afta cz dat has loads of meaning cz it cums up loads of times nd i also realy wanna c Mrs Blacks portrait nd the black family tree wth bellatrix on cz i tink dats also quite important

No way! They cant! Kreacher is the one who 'confirms' to Harry that Sirius is in the Department of Mysteries(While he's really upstairs..)
I also hope they put in alot about Sirius, The Order(Particularly Tonks, Lupin,(for obvious book 6 reasons) and maybe Moody), the cleaning, and a tiny bit on the locker(Don't want to give too much away..)

i don't think they'll be there for a long time, I mean just look at GoF, how long did he stay at the Dursley's? And how long did he stay at the Burrow? Almost no time at all, I'll think they'll just show everyone how it lokks and have some short information, like the Quidditch cup scenes in GoF maybe...

Sep 3 2006, 06:12 AM
Well, I think that in the beginning, when Harry arrives to Grimmauld Place, we will watch a few things, I mean, Harry will argue with Hermione and Ron, he will learn the truth and then the Order will explain to him everything....then he will immediately go to the ministry(the same day...i mean!)and after the trial, he will meet Kreacher, he will learn that Ron and Hermione are prefects, he will have more discussion time and then he will have a dinner so as everyone would have a line to say...I mean that all these things would be around 20-25 minutes and Dursleys and Dementora at the beginning would be 5-7 minutes more....
The Phoenix Lament
Sep 3 2006, 09:11 PM
They will have to show the dementors at the start otherwise there is no need for a hearing and they are pretty important to be cut, so with the time they spend on that they will cut time from grimmauld place such as the party for ron and hermione and the cleaning, but as said earlier the locket they found, and im so glad to know im not the only one who thinks its the real horcrux, they need to show some parts to make other things in the film make sense, but i think they probably will cut kreacher because they didnt bother with winky in GOF and harry could find out some other random farfetched way that sirius isnt there [when he actually is] and runs off to the ministry, i just hope they make everything make sense because so many things in GOF didnt add up because of all the changes.

I really hope they show most of the parts in Grimmauld place, because it is pretty important. Athough, seeing as in the forth movie they didn't show Winky, or S.P.E.W. being started, I don't know if they'll include Kreacher... although he does play a very small part in the sixth book (deteriming whether Harry actually inherets(sp?) number 12 Grimmauld place), so maybe they'll show some parts with Kreacher.

Maybe a bit longer stayed a grimmauld place. Why ?

because maybe they're just skip it until the scene of Ron's dad get bit by the snake and I think Harry think that for the first time he just want to stay away from his school. Being under tortured of Umbridge makes him faster get back to the school you're kidding

We have a fan base that is dying to see Kreacher. He is an important character, but I still think his part will be played down. I am interested in seeing the set itself. I envision Grimmauld Place to be dark and spooky.
Of course the attack on Ron's dad and the DA will stay. Those are central to the plot. Minor things like visits to the kitchen get cut out. Plotlines that are too long get cut out. The trip to St. Mungos....I am waiting on that. Will we see Neville's parents? I don't think so.

It would be awesome
Read this plotline that may be in the film
1.Harry and Order arriving in GP
2.Harry upstairs learning the hidden truth and shouting
3.Order tells him everything downstairs in the kitchen
4.After the trial there is a special dinner
5.We see Kreacher
6.Harry and Sirius discussing Sirius' family tree and Voldemort's plans...some emotional things maybe
7.Harry and Hermione cleaning the house and learn that the silver locket has been dissapeared by Kreacher(confirmed)
8.Ron and Hermione learning that they are prefects
9.Ending scenes...children preparing to go to Hogwarts...emotional scene with Sirius
10.Harry,Ron,Hermie,Ginny,fRed,George and Sirius in GP's living room after the attack to Mr.Weasley
11.Panic in GP with Order
12.CHristmas in GP...special feastive dinner and the like
13.Harry full of nerves because he thinks that he is conquered by Voldy
14.Kreacher hidden and Bellatrix's photo
15.Emotional scenes with the family and Sirius
Eh????That would be cool...I think that all these Grimmauld Place scenes MAY be in the film...

Since Dobby has been cut, I think Kreacher must be included. Harry needs someone to tale Draco in HBP. Kreacher could fill that role. I could see a way in which he could be cut, but so much depends on him in book 7 (as I believe).

I was really dissapointed at how little time was spent at the Burrow. If they cut out all of Grimmauld Place, I will be downright heartbroken. So much of the story is infused with the house and even if the movie is a little long, I hope they keep it. We sat through LOTR and Dune, right?....go ahead make it longer. Besides, why waste the talent of such an awesome Sirius Black (Gary Oldman?) If they must discard so much footage why don't they start releasing full-uncut length versions in DVD format? I would pay a few quid for that...
And, off topic; I really hope the kids aren't all dressed like muggles the whole time either....

The director or the producer...i don't know which is which but he was interviewed the other day and he admitted that since the book was so long he tried to cover as much as he could. he says that after filming he's produced a movie over 3 hours long. the sad part is...he says he's going to have to edit at least 30-45 minutes of it.
on another note. kreacher is in the movie don't know how much but he's in it, dobby isn't. haven't seen ANY behind the scene photos of grimmauld place yet..but i'm looking. the pensive scene is being filmed cuz they casted the actors for young sirius, lily, james, peter, lupin and severus. the thing i think they might cut out is ALLLL the cleaning they did except of course when sirius and harry are discussing the tapestry. and seeing the locket they find ^.^ hehehe i hope those assumptions are correct.

They have shot beginning scenes and christmas scenes at Grimmauld Place. I'm not 100% sure if they've shot any cleaning scenes though.
I have seen an artist impression of what Kretcher looks like, and seen some storyboards with him included, but only briefly and being very grumpy so he
is in the film as far as I know
As for the First Order...Photo, I know that they shot what was needed for the photo. But whether or not it will be in the final cut, I'm unsure!

I can't remember where i read i know i just read it recently too, but Jo INSISTED that Kreacher NOT be cut out for very important reasons, and it DOES have to do with things that will happen in Book 7. I've seen the drawings and such of Kreacher too, he's in the movie I know that for sure. I just can't wait for the bloody movie to come out darnit. *sighs* i hate this.....
Heard this in a forum on a different site, so this may be a rumor:
The Order OF ThE Pheonix is 3 hours long. Yet, WB only allows the maximum of 2 hours for adults. You know that harry potter is triggered to children on the movies, and the adults are not going to want to sit in there for 3 hours trying to keep a five year old quiet. So The director of Harry Potter is having to take 45 minutes off of it.
Bumblebee
Nov 16 2006, 08:36 PM
Well, I hope that if 45 minutes are cut off for the cinema version, they are put back on to the DVD.
It's so stupid to say that it can't be three hours. OotP is a complex book, and cutting out things hurts the story. To my knowledge, nobody minded that "the Lord of The Rings" films were long.
SlytherinHeadGirl05
Nov 16 2006, 08:45 PM
Bumblebee you are absolutely right! In the forum i was in, the person who made that comment i posted above, well she said the same thing. If that's the rule with WB for adults, HOW did they get LotRs to be so LONG?!?!?! And I made comment about the DVD special features. On the GoF dvd or on any of the dvds of HP there is cut scenes section of course. I have to point this out...i found promo shots of scenes that weren't even in THAT section of the special featurea. For a GoF promo picture...they have Harry (who's all beat up looking, obviously after the maze), Ron and Hermion sitting all together and they're by the back of the school hell there's suppose to be even more to the scene of Harry in the bathtub but i was actually glad they didn't have they scene up TOO long...god i was a movie fan first and my mouth fell open LITERALLY when all of a sudden dan's sittng in a bathtub!!
everyone, mainly girls, started giggling and snickering when cedric was talking to harry about his egg, anyways lol,
yeah...see what i mean so there might not even be ALL the scenes they cut out. *sighs* i hate this....
scene i was talking about, i found it:

I think there will be enough scenes in Grimmauld place. Though it will probably cut quicker to different things. Then anticapated. I hope they include Krecher because he's got importance i think for Book 7. Though they can't cut to much of it. Because a lot of the films based there.

I just hope they put the screaming portrait of mrs. Black in the movie... I think that is so funny, the way she keeps on screaming and Molly is yelling as well...
if they don't put 12 Grimmauld Place in the movie I would be disappointed, but it would still be a good movie
