I can't wait to see both! I'm really anxious for both. I've seen a couple of clips for Driving Lessons, and I'm impressed by Rupert's performance. They need to release clips for December Boys before I lose my mind! blink.gif wacko.gif

Well, I don't know the exact dates for either, but I know Driving Lessons is suposed to come out real soon. They did all that Tribeca stuff over here, so I bet it should coming out in the UK anytime now. And I am so jealous. I want to see that movie!!!

And I heard December Boys wasn't coming out until December 2006, so it won't be a while for that one. I guess it was appropriate for it to be released then though since it was December...December Boys...

And I'm not sure if this is really the right place for this...I'll ask the Mods/Wizengamot. smile.gif
Caitlin in Australia
December Boys was filmed in November/December last year and I know this because my parents wouldn't take me to Adelaide for it. mad.gif It really should come out soon because they would only have needed to edit it.

Driving Lessons should be out soon since they have shown it already in Ireland, I think, and now they just have to release it to the public. This shouldn't take too long.

Hiya!!
All excited for the release of December boys and Driving lessons??It'll really be great to watch our dear actors getting rid of wands!
December boys is releasing soooooon.
I think it will take time for it to reach UK and even later in US.
It'll be first released in Australia. So "Yay!Yay!" for you Caity!!
About Driving Lessons...I have no idea!

Hope that's good enough!

Yeah, I've been trying to find a release date for Driving Lessons for ages, but I can't get anything more specific than 2006... sad.gif

I saw a clip though... the one where Rup's reading a poem to the girl and she calls him weird and walks away... poor Rupert!

Ooh, completely off topic, but I like your username, Chelsey_princess... I'm a Chelsey too, same spelling and all. Made me smile biggrin.gif

I am also very impatiently waiting for December Boys and Driving Lessons!!! I can't wait!!!I really hope that they come out in the USA. That would really stink for us Americans if it didn't!!
Fawkes09
Yes, I hope the two movies come out in the USA too.

Is there any info anywhere that would tell you if they'll be released in America? I may have to do some searching on that.

But I would love to see Dan and Rupert in other characters, to see how they can act with varying roles. It's definitely exciting!
Just the Droobles
Did anyone else read the thing on the front page of VTM that said Sony clasic had gotten the rights for Driving Lessons? Doesn't that give us Americans a little more hope for it being released here? Has anyone heard anything else about it? Does anyone care anymore? *knocks on screen* Hello? ....kidding, but if anyone learns any new stuff, please post your findings. smile.gif
Amyrat151
IMBD is all I know that would info on when it comes to any threaters other than the boys offical web sites. But I can't wait for both, I'm sure at least December boys will come here for sure. Dan is frickin Harry Potter, that means something in America. I supose the ones like me across the pound will just have to wait. Sigh. And I've heard about sony buying the rights to Driving Lessons, and that means it will come to America.
ladyweasley
yeah, im always glad to see them venture into another movie. I just pray that they'll want to fininsh 2 more movies.

Jason Issacs (Lucius Malfoy) said, "Ruperts going to have kids of his own by the time the series is over."

I hope they dont get pressured....Im starting to panic. Think about it, every movie takes 2 years in essence. SO, movie 5's release is out in 2007, movie 6 will be released in 2009, then....(drum roll) movie 7 will be out in 2011.

Thats five more years people.....they'll be in their 20's. Arrrrrrrgggghhhhh! shutup.gif ohmy.gif sad.gif blink.gif

David said HBP will come out in 2008, so the last will probally come out in 2010. And don't worry ladyweasley, none of them has expressed feeling about leaving. And the boys have worn normal clothes in the movies, since PoA. tongue.gif , I kid, I kid.

none of them can leave. it would be too different for everybody. i don't care how old they are by the time the series is over they have to keep them. beside there are ways to make the characters look younger. well at least the last one will probably come out 2010. i sure hope so. i'm so impatient! happy.gif
Fawkes09
Oh goodness...if any of the actors leave, I think I'll cry. Because then they'll have to have replacements, and that's completely unheard of for me. Ugh. I really really hope that doesn't happen. If the actors will just hold on for a few more years, we can get it done, but if they don't...-shudder-
missmugglebethany
yah know with OotP coming out in 2007 and HBP slated(but not confirmed) to come out in 2008 why shouldnt Year seven come out in 2009 but this is off topic. I would really like to se december boys and driving lessons looks really good so i hope we can get them fairly soon. sony has rights to december boys(it is this one right) well i cant see them spending money on rights to show it and then not show it. i hope its just sooner than later for us USA'ers to see the films.
mayfair
This could just eb me, but I feel that one of the reasons the producers of the said movies signed on Rupert and Dan was to cash in on their popularity as Harry Potter characters outside the UK film trade. I have seen Driving lessons and must admit that the only reason why I saw that one was to have a look at Rupert and Julie Walters together outside the HP universe.

Rupert was good, though kind of unidimensional in the movie. He looks very similar to how he comes across in the interviews, shy and guarded (that's what Ben Marshall's character is supposed to be like). But looking at him in Harry Potter movies, I must admit he's quite a good artist to play someone so unlike him (apparently) on screen. Julie was a revelation, I have seen her movies before such as "She'll be wearing Pink Pyjamas", but that was a long time ago and I must admit I had this image of Molly Weasley imprinted somewhere. So hearing her swear and rant was kinda unsettling till you get used to it, and then she was so good. But I believe (I admitI could be wrong here) that many who saw Driving Lessons, to look for Ron Weasley rather than Ben Marshall there may come across disappointed. The movie is quite good and should be seen for what it is, and not for what we want to see.

Haven't seen December boys yet, but would love to see it primarily for how Dan comes across there

So...Driving Lessons has hit theatres where I live...and it is amazing. Has anyone else seen it yet? I thought it was a really brilliant movie and it got really good reviews around here and on other sites and stuff. Has anyone seen it?? I want to share my euphoria!!
HPFan792
I havent seen it yet. sad.gif I am dying to see it though. I hear that it is really good. I also cant wait to see December Boys!
Marieke
I haven't even heard of Driving Lessons coming out here... nor December Boys. The big hit this Christmas will be Eragon (or so Pathé makes us think).
I have been to the "for-premieres" of Perfume and I think I liked it. It's a good story, and very well acted (the actor of prof. Snape is in it as well!), but it's just weird. I don't know how to say it.

Well, if anyone knows the release dates of any of those movies (Driving Lessons and December Boys) in Holland, please state it! biggrin.gif
mizz*J
YAY! Driving Lessons will be on ITV (UK). biggrin.gif ..::click::..
Spencer Potter
This is pathetic, they are not showing any of those in Canada.. I was hoping to sometime see December Boys, but maybe they will come out on Video over here. huh.gif I was really looking forward to it, if it comes around here, someone let me know.
Mistress of Magic
Hang on, whoa.

Driving Lessons came out in the States already? So early? There haven't even been previews for it in Canada. What gives? Like Spencer Potter, I'm pretty angry over that. The release dates for the U.S.A. and Canada are usually the same. Seems like the Canucks are getting the rogu hend of the stick here.

I want to see it, I really do. It looks really good.
etphonehome
The luck of the British eh? It was on TV just before Christmas (or was that just after, I can't remember now) anyhow, it was definately worth watching. Ruperts character was a reall dull quiet boy and he played it well. The highlight of the movie for me was the wonderful Julie Walters. She was magnificent, but I won't say anymore or I'll spoil it for those who haven't been licky enough to see it yet.

As for December Boys, we get lucky there too. It is due to be aired on UK TV in the late summer early autumn.
