It is known that Viktor will come back in the 7th Harry potter book and it will be interesting to see who Hermione picks will it be Ron or will it be Viktor Krum.We Know that she is fond of both but i think Ron and Hermione were meant for eachother and Hermione and Viktor wouldnt last long as a couple.

I think that Hermione liked the fact that someone like Victor Krum liked her and asked her to the ball. I don't believe that she really liked him, more of just the fact of them. It was also a perfect opportunity to make Ron jelous which she did. If only they would get together already!

Part of me likes this whole idea of Hermione and Viktor being together cause it was a more adult relationship, it was also sorta this thing that really made Ron mad, which could be good or bad, and it was someone that didn't really know her, and yet was the complete opposite. I'm not that sure how happy they were together, and I have a feeling that we're going to find that out in the next book when Viktor comes back, but I do think that she has feelings for him. He's not like Harry or Ron, who no they are not muscular beasts, but Ron has his own ego problems, Harry's just not interested cause he has other things to deal with, like Cho and Ginny and since every guy just needs a girl who's his friend and that's it though we know that never lasts, and Viktor was just something different, and not a man of many words, though we know she has plenty for the both of them. Yeah, I guess it is kinda cute at that, but also the fact that Hermione sets her self some pretty high requirements, that's the cute part. Wow, Ron has to go through a lot to be as good in her eyes as Viktor.

In the general sense; yes. Viktor and Hermione work great.
Hermione needs someone more, to listen to her than to question her and talk back.
Viktor needs a pretty face (from all the information i've collected thus far...haha)
So what's wrong...?
EVERYTHING.
Everything doesn't have to be text book. I think Hermione likes telling ron stuff, and he listens because she's smarter. But Ron also challenges Hermione, which viktor doesnt. I think she likes the challenge. And I also think that all her intelligence gets to her sometimes, and underneath all the books and cleverness, she strives to be normal. And ron is normal.

I always liked Hermione/Viktor--when I first read GoF I remember being so excited at Hermione actually going out with someone, and a world famous Quidditch player they had seen at the QWC at that!

(I always wish I could pop in on the three of them in the box while they watrch Viktor play, and say "Well Hermione you'll go out with him!"--imagine the reactions!). I thought it was soooo cute and sweet and adorable how he was the first person to see poor insecure Hermione for the wonderful, beautiful girl she was, and appreciate how different and unique she is from most girls! And even cuter how he actually had to work up the courage to ask HER out--I mean, who can fail to squee and go awwwwwww! at that whole situation!

I love Hermione (or at least I did before she and the rest of the cast did a character down-grade in HBP), and identify (pre-HBP at least) most with her, and so I love what Viktor did, and how flattered and happy she was at his invitation, and how good it made her feel, and how much fun she was having--seriously, can you think of another time when we've seen Hermione having so much fun? She even forgot to think about elves' rights and her activism when she was with Viktor! That is until Ron ruined everything for her...poor Hermione, I'll never forgive Ron for that one! (Though at least it wasn't as awful in the book as in the movie).
I would much rather have Viktor with Hermione than Ron, though I know that won't happen at this point--still, I can't wait to see what happens in book 7 when Viktor returns! I think he's a great guy for Hermione, he's the one that makes her feel best about herself, listens to her, and she to him, she enjoys herself with him (without him putting her down or making her miserable--challenge, smallenge, that's not necessarily a good thing in the long run), he's probably the most mature of the boys she knows, which is good since she's the most mature around herself (well, pre-HBP anyway--let's see if she gets her maturity and brain back in book 7), they're fond of one another, etc. I love her (very long!) correspondance with him, it's good she's still keeping up the ties with him. And this time when he sees her the age difference won't be as creepy or as big of a deal! Oh, and how adorable is it that he's "never met anyone like Hermione" and that she's the thing he'd miss most? Again, awwww! too bad she was too busy paying attention to Harry to notice his cute water beetle gesture....
I'll always have a soft spot for H/V, I think it actually could be considered my first ship, since I liked it and thought he was the one for Hermione before people started blabbering about Ron--once I thought about the possibility of a trio-cest couple, I thought Harry was better suited than Ron to be with her, and went from there (but that's another story for another thread, lol). Viktor is actually kind of like Harry in many ways--dark-haired, good Quidditch seeker/flyer, reluctantly famous who avoids publicity as much as he can, kind of shy, very good wizard, champion, etc. (Another great thing about the ship, lol--it was almost like Hermione was interested in him as a substitute for Harry, lol. Almost). I was annoyed that they chose to portray Viktor as a total dunderhead with a head full of sawdust--I liked Viktor, and that really sells him short, as much as I enjoyed HHr's exhange about the matter afterwards.
On question: do you guys think that Hermione actually "snogged" Viktor, and told Ginny in a confidence (should have known not to trust her!), or that Ginny was being her usual "female dog" self in HBP and made it up just to antagonize Ron? i never thought of H/V really snogging in GoF, esp. with her beign so young and all, and that seems kind of fast for 1 date. At the most I would imagine maybe a chaste goodnight kiss--not full-frontal snogging. Ginny, female dog that she was, was probably just blowing things out of proportion to aggravate Ron more--in any case I really hope someone tells Hermione that Ginny said that so she knows never to tell the little witch anything private ever again! But what do you guys think about that?

I loved this ship in the GoF, but only in that book. I think that this relationship was only a stepping stone into seeing a Ron/Hermione Ship. I feel the same way with Ron/Lavender. I see that Hermione and Ron are meant for each other, but needed to date a few other people before they finally see how much they care for them.

HPChic, JK has made that point as well in what is now called "the interview". Anyway, did they kiss, I think that they did, and Ginny didn't say it was at the Yule Ball, it could of been later in the year.
Victor was really sweet, particually prefect, but it doesn't matter, Hermione's heart was with someone else.

I think that it was cute, because it was funny how the athletic guy falls for the smart/nerdy one is really romantic-yet, I am a loyal fan of Ron and can't let the nice and wonderful Krum to get in the way

. I like Krum too though, he seems nice and semi-good for her, but...I'll stick with Ron.

Aww I thought this ship was cute, while it lasted. I kinda wondered what happened to Krum, but it seems like they still keep in touch, since Hermione did write to him.
I quite enjoyed the jealousy that came from Ron when Hermione and Krum showed up at the dance. I usually don't like it when Ron gets in a sour mood, but this one was pretty funny.
Anyway. I thought Krum was a little too dull for Hermione. I think she'd want someone who could talk to her, and keep her entertained for hours and hours of just... chatter, you know?

But that's just it--the real, CANON Krum can do just that--just look at Krum (or look at HARRY watching them, lol) chatting--more than Harry's every heard him say before--about back home at Durmstrang, etc, Hermione hooked on his words and paying so much attention to him she doesn't even notice, as Harry observes, the extra work the house-elves had b/c of the ordering arrangements! So as seen in CANON, Krum COULD keep Hermione entertained for hours--and her correspeondence with him further indicates that they certainly have plenty to talk about--so in no way is that a con of the ship, it's just that in the MOVIE Krum is dull and completely reticent, and I think many people have begun assimilating movie!Krum with canon!Krum as far as the extent to which he interacts with Hermione!

I loved Krum and Hermonie, but I like the idea of Ron and Herminoe better. Relationships usually last longer when you know your lover as a friend first, which I think will blossom these 2 into a very comical and loving relationship.

If everyone could please be a bit more careful this is for Hermione/Viktor SUPPORTERS only if you want to discuss another ship then please take your comments to the appropriate one...all ships are for suporters only unless they are venom threads in that case then they are for those opposed to the ship...if you need any other clarifications on the rules there is a ship rules section on the main page or you can contact a moderator or auror for additional help

I quite liked how Hermione and Viktor got together. The idea of him falling for her, seeing something in her that no-one else did, just seems romantic to me. Sure, Ron has made hints in the past about his feelings for Hermione, but has never had the guts to act upon it. Whereas Krum, who is internationally famous and probably has girls throwing themselves at him all the time, chose to fall for someone who wasn't like that. Someone who didn't like him just for his fame.
The fact that Viktor even feels threatened by Harry makes this even cuter. It shows a degree of personal insecurity that Krum has, but not a sense of arrogance or pride as when Harry assure him nothing is going on, he turns much more pleasent and tells Harry how well he flies.
While I have nothing against the Hermione/Ron ship, I have to say that I prefer this one. With Viktor Krum's support, S.P.E.W could really get some much-needed publicity!

I think they were pretty sweet, even if it was to make Ron jealous. So what if they were 4 years apart? They were cute i reakon. They are more of a fanfic ship for me, but they are still cute.
The Yuel ball thing was neat, and i was pretty shocked when i realised Hermione was going with Krum, (Me and my mum were reading GoF at the same time and she was a little ahead of me and knew but i didn't and she kept going haha, so i read for ages just to find out) but when the shock wore off i realised that they were pretty sweet.

Are you saying that Hermione went out with Viktor to make Ron jealous, or that JKR created the relationship for that purpose. If the latter, I would hope that JK might also want to give Hermione some happiness and recongition for her amazing personality, and not just make Ron jealous. And if it's the former--

please give Hermione more credit for her GoF self--she hadn't yet then descended into the immature, often pathetic character we see in HBP. V/Hr had NOTHING to do with Ron--Viktor asked Hermione out, and obviously she was flattered and happy and accepted, especially as no one else had asked her--unlike with McClaggan in HBP, she was NOT deliberately trying to find a date that would make Ron jealous, but rather going with the nice young man who asked her first. She probably would have gone with Neville if he had asked her before Krum (which would have made Ron laugh more than jealous in all probability). It was bad enough that Hermione stooped so low in HBP--I hate to see people projecting this action backwards in time to sully previous events in which nothing of the sort was occurring. If GoF!Hermione deliberately wanted to make Ron jealous, she would have said out right who she was going with, and not been shy about it. or she would have accepted Viktor's invitation openly to go to his place over the summer.

You know... I never thought of that. Cannon Krum WOULD keep her entertained. Stupidly I thought back to the line from the movie, where Hermione says - "He's more of a physical being... He... He likes to watch me study." - Or something along those lines.

Well, Sherrilina, that's just how i saw it. It's ok if you don't feel the same, but that's how i saw it.
But i think even if i was to make Ron jealous, she still had a good time, and that's what counts, isn't it?
Even though we know she can stopp really low to get Ron's attention (MacLaggan in HBP) i think the Yul ball was just a way to get her mind off everything and to have fun really.
As i said-they're sweet.

I think Viktor is a real sweetheart. However, I always got the feeling that he liked Hermione a lot more than she liked him. I mean, she still liked Ron even then, and Victor was always like "oh I've never felt this way about any other girl before." I think the age difference and the whole long distance thing will keep their relationship from being anything more than friendship. They'll probably still be close friends and penpals, and Ron will probably still always be jealous of that (haha its cute when Ron gets jealous), and Victor may always harbor some feelings for Hermione, but it wont amount to anything. V/Hr is not my fav ship, but it is cute.

Although it would be sweet if they dated im not sure if there will be any future relationship.
I do believe that Ron and Hermione are a better couple. When Hermione dated Viktor he hated him and was obviously jealous of him.
Also when Hermione went with McLaggen to the SlugClub party, Ron didnt openly admit he was jealous cos he had Lavender. I dont think Ron ever fancied Lavender. It was just because Ginny said he was in-experienced.
Also when Ron started going out with Lavender Hermione was jealous and made the birds attack Ron. Also there is alot of childish and subtle flirting between them.
So Ron and Hermione FOR EVA!!!

they are totally my fav couple of all. i just loved how nice and kind viktor was to hermoine. viktor has to come back so Hermoine will have her man. i loved at the Yule ball her and him were dancing together and ron was mad. the very end when viktor asked to write to him that was cute (i wonder if hermoine ever went to see him over the summer)

My view on this subject is that JKR placed Krum in the picture in Book 4 to get Ron's jealousy boiling and to make their possible relationship kick into gear. At the Yule Ball, Ron saw Hermione not only as a booksmart friend who helped him at homework, but as a very pretty girl whom he liked very much in the arms of another student. That's just my thoughts, however.

i'm a Hermione/Harry supporter and so i hope nothing serious will go on between hermione and krum....as hermione said in GoF film "he just sits and watches me while i'm studying, its a bit annoying actually." But when rons there and they're not arguing, she seems to like it.

i never really thought about this ship much and its definitely not my OTP but since i heard that Krum was coming back for DH i thought, WHY NOT!! Hermione and Krum. We know that he felt very strongly about her in GOF and they are still good friends because she writes him LONG letters so when he comes back who's to say that it won't be Ron or Harry who win Hermione but Krum.

I thought they were adorable together, like how Hermione didn't care about quidditch at all, but she was the one that ended up with him.

And then he always hangs out in the library, trying to get his courage up to talk to her. Too bad he's not the one for Hermione, Ron is. But if Ron dies, then Krum will do. Krum is really awesome, I'd probably like him if I were in Hermione's place, but I don't really like quidditch either, so yeah.

A bit of an oxymoron. Krum isn't egotistical in the slightest.
If ego was the problem then Hermione wouldn't have given Ron the time of day.

cristipotter you're right, some boy had to like Hermione just so Ron would realize he liked her and we would know for sure Ron liked her.

Yes! This is what should have happened! Hermione would have been perfect for Krum (Not being obsessed with quidditch) and Krum was really sweet in the fourth book, although he didn't seem that overly disapointed about Ron?Hermione in the seventh.
I also agree with cristpotter and X-Girl in the idea that Ron needed a good hard kick before he knew that he liked Hermione. Seirously though, this is a really good idea, and was the one I was hoping for.

Guys, you're right. Poor Hermione was lonely, and maybe thinking she wasn't pretty, because I know she's been always the non-girlish kind of girl, but any girl likes if boys notice us, and nobody noticed Hermione. And then comes Krum and says a lot of lovely things... who would say him not? And that shook Ron and made him realise that you haven't to be half Veela and French to be a pretty girl ... and made him jealous! And we all realised the way it all was coming ...
I've never had anything against poor Krum. I think he's a sweet guy and he deserved a good girl, and he made Hermione feel good ... for a while.

Victor and Hermione was such a great couple, but what happened to them? In the fifth book, there is no further mention of Victor, he only crops up in the 7th because Fleur invites him along 0_o. I feel a bit sorry for him, dumped pretty much by Hermione as she goes off with Ron.
