As for my favorite title, I'd go for PoA. It has something mysterious about it, for someone who hasn't read the books it's not so obvious that the prisoner is a good guy, instead of a bad guy... You actually get the feeling that someone wants to harm Harry by only reading the title itself.

My favorite Harry Potter book title has to be Order of the Phoenix because it shows a rebellion to both the government and the evil of the Death Eaters and Voldemort, well at least the book does. But I also really liked Sorcerer's Stone because it got the reader interested in the book, then probably in the entire Harry Potter series.

I was not very sure whether to chose OotP or HBP, but I finally took OotP. Maybe I did this because I like the (German) cover of OotP more than the HBP-cover...
Another influence may have been the lentgh of the book, because I love to read and since I read very fast, I'm happy when I have got a long book to keep me occupied for more than one day...
Last, but not least, the title OotP reminds me of my favourite character: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore!!!

Personally, I am a fan of all of them. I've always the found the titles to be extremely well chosen, and they definitely left me confused when I first heard of them. However, as I finished reading each book, I found myself nodding in comprehension; the way she chose the titles just made so much sense after a while! I actually find it amazing how she comes up with them.
But when I had to pick a favourite.. I think it'd be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. What is an Order? Why a Pheonix? What? Whaaaaat? That is what I was thinking as I was standing in line with the book. I didn't even want to start reading it in fear of spoiling it for myself.

i like half-blood prince. it really doesnt tell you anything about what is going to be in the book because none of us knew who the half blood prince is/was.

I like HBP because the title doesn't give anything away, like a couple of the others could possibly if you analyze them well enough, and J.K. Rowling teases us the most with the question of who was/is the bleeding half-blood prince who is so important that he/(she, for Hermione's arguement

) is the subject of the sixth book's title?

And that's why i like it.

I personally like the Order of the Pheonix. I have a bit of a soft spot for the Order... but the name is so powerful. It is so noble and chivalrous... I think it is appropriate for the book as well... It tells us that there is indeed a anit-voldemort movement and that Harry will interact with them... it was very exciting when it was first released

title.

Liked the title of book 6 Harry potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Right from the begining I was trying to work out who it could be.
Was it a new character or someone we already knew.
Also liked the title Harry potter and the prisoner of Azkaban

I chose Goblet of Fire, because the first time I picked up that book, not having read it, the title made me really curious and I also think that it sounds really nice. I mean, all of the titles caused some curiousity, like, who's the Half-Blood Prince, or, what is the Order of the Phoenix? But Goblet of Fire did especially for me.

I chose order of the phoenix. Its my least favorite of the books but I think theres something magical about the title. My second favorite title was Chamber of Secrets and its my second least favorite. Funny how those things work isn't it. I think I like the word chamber a lot i don't know why. I also think just the idea of secrets is enticing.

Definately [deffo] HBP. this may be becuase i loooooove this book, possibly my favorite out of all of them, and also (as some people have already said) becuase you just can't wait to find out who the Half-Blood Prince actually is.
Mod Edit: Minor Netspeak in brackets. Please write out the entire word as not everyone here has English as their first language, so to help them please don't use any abbreviations.

My favourite is HBP. It's a really cool title and it really makes you think, like who's the prince? And is he a new character. And it's just brilliant what it turns out to be
the only one he'll ever want
Mar 24 2007, 08:33 AM
Wow, this is another poll question that makes me have to stop and think!
The last three (of the six given) were all very good... although in the end I must say that I like the Half-Blood Prince. I like the words "Blood" and "Prince", and that is my favorite book overall. Plus I love the fact that it is referring to Snape, so... maybe I'm a bit biased, but that's my favorite.
Order of the Phoenix is nice and I love Fawkes (first thing that comes to mind when I think of phoenix, which is the word that strikes me as most dominant in that title) and the Order itself, but the overall ring and feel of the title doesn't make me as excited or intrigued as Half-Blood Prince. It doesn't suggest any violence, gore, surprise, or royalty... the title of the fifth book was almost misleading when I first heard it, although naturally, after reading it, the reason it was chosen was really quite simple.

I really liked Half0Blood Prince.....kept me guessing on who the "Prince" was.....This atest one is really good though too.....I have a million theories about it

I would have to say Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is my favourtie title. lol I don't why but I think it's because it sounds more ummm I guess exciting to me because an order means an organisation which means more people which means bigger things which means bigger excitement

I like the Order of the Pheonix, it's my favorite. However, it was tough between OotP and Goblet of Fire. I like Goblet of Fire as well. GoF is really descriptive while OotP is just like, . . .what? Haha like that makes any sense! OotP sounds really exciting and at the same time. . .what's the word i am looking for. . .important kind of? Maybe.

i think the books have improved as theyv gone on, with the exception of OotP. i think that one could have been better, though it was still excellent. HBP is by far my favourite.

I picked HBP because all the other titles, you knew what/who they were early to middle in the books. In HBP, you knew it was someone, but you would never guess it's Snape until you finally read the part where he acknowledges that it's him.

I agree with Crucio20.
the title, HBP is my favorite. For a couple reasons. First, as Crucio 20 said, you dn't actually know the importance of it until the end and you don't know who the HalfBlood Prince is untill the end either. Also, when the title was first released, i just Liked it alot. it was different, it obviously had Magical stuff in it --half blood-- but then it had something we'd never heard of in harry potter before too --prince-- I hope that makes sense.
With DH, I was like uhhh whaaat?? Actually I really liked the title harry potter and the order of the pheonix, but HBP i like better

Half Blood Prince. The title really leaves you guessing who exactly it's referring to, and there's no indication on the cover either. That to me was the most mysterious title, and the more mysterious the better!

Favorite title is Order of the Phoenix. It just sounds cool and its very mysterious. There is no way of knowing exactly what is meant by the title. It could be any number of things. Deathly Hallows comes in second even though its not on the list.

My favorite is Goblet of Fire... Not only I loved that book, but the goblet itself is such a magical object... Because of that goblet, so many things happen: the Triwizard Tournament, Harry being elected and a confrontation with Voldemort. I think it's highly underestimated, that's why I love the name! It gives the goblet a little more recognition... Hahaha!

I'm going to have to say HBP with OotP coming in second. I just feel like HBP, when I first heard it, created the most question and mystery out of all the HP titles. It called a lot into question and just made my head spin when I first saw it

HBP. Yay Snape! It does sound mysterious, as someone pointed out, and before reading the book, I'm like, Who would that be? I guessed Seamus. He is half blood (I think) after all. How silly of me.

I think HBP is the best because I couldn't remember ever seeing Royalty in the wizarding world in any of the books and all the way through the sixth book I was like...wha??? Who is this Half Blood person? Do we know him? and then at the end I was like...

WHA????? IT WAS SNAPE!?
