I'm not saying they shouldn't do auditions in London, I just think they should do them in other places aswell. My suggestions would be:

*Manchester
*Edinburgh
*Dublin
*London
*Southampton
*Norwich
*Scarborough

THat way everyone in the country has a chance. Its not fair on people who live in Ireland and Scotland to have to pay so much money and time when people who live in London only have to go round the corner. It should be equal chances for everybody. Somewhere there is a girl who was born to play LAvender, but whats the likelyhood she lives in London, theres the whole rest of the country too. I mean, yeah its the capital city but shouldn't they make it fair and let everyone have the chance to do well? Sorry if this sounds argumentative, its not supposed to.

well for the luna castings they held them in 3 places i think. One of which i remember being London and another i remember being MAchester so they dont just do them in London.

I no what you mean though, i come from Wales and it is a lot to travel just to wait in a que for about 5 hours to have a 1 in 10000 chance of getting the part, but o well, i am definatly going no matter what!

& to be quite honest, I think Rupert could do better than that Katie Lewis, in my opinion I don't think she's that good lucking :/.

Well it may be a bit too much hassle for them to do loadsa auditions, because Lav isn't a huge part, so they probably don't have enough time to do auditions all over the country. ( which is a shame...but maybe that's why)

Yea if he's 19 then i don't think they will go as young as 14, just seems such a gap and at 14 you still don't look 19 even if you do look older. Its just to weird. It would be nice of them to do auditions up north (even though i'm a londoner), but they chose london because its the capital and everywhere has trains running right into the centre. Also if they have it where it was before then it's right next to parliment, which is near all the big train stations where everyone comes in from around the country. Just means you have to get up early. Also i guess they do it in london so they get less people going, takes less time and it just means that if they want northeners, it just means less of them will go so they have less to chose from. I don't know i guess it does makes sense if you really think about it

We'll i don't think he is worried about kissing a girl. He used to be, when he was younger because everyone was saying about him and Hemione and both of them were like ewww, but now they have come to terms with it and he's already had an on screen kiss i guess he doesn't mind. It's Emma that doesn't like the thought of it.

Auditions up north would be a great idea, (so if they do it in more then one place you can like follow them around and get more then one chance) it jus gives everyone a chance. It's annoying that they haven't told us anything yet, when they know people are going on holiday soon and GCSEs are going to be over. All exams are finished by 29th so it would be really good if they had them near that so it's kind of like a treat and a bit of fun right after our exams and all the hard work we've been doing. End of July, August it just seems so far away and everyone is going on holiday anyway.

yer i agree, i think they should hold them in June sometime, that way they will no that everyone will be here.

As for the where-abouts of the auditions they will probz hold them in:

London
Manchester
and some where like Newcastle

There were Luna auditions in Manchester!!! NOOOO! I lived in Cheshire at the time and we travelled all the way to London, and forgot my passport, and by the time we realised it was too late to turn back! If I'd forgot it in Manchester it's only a 1/2 an hour drive! sO NOT FAIR! I didn't hink they announced Manchester on newsround, but i ran to tell my paretns halfway through the announcement so i guess i missed it... ohh.

Yea Rupret is about 5'10" dear that's tall. I'm only about 5'3" 5'4" i just hope that they don't have a hieght limit because otherwise i probably won't get in.

But personally i don't think they'll have a height limit i mean at on point he's going to have to kiss Emma Watson and she's only 5'5" so i guess height won't matter. welll i hope is doesn't

hey, im new here...but i've actually been excited about the lavender brown casting for some time now!

unfortunately, im an american. which sucks.

haha but really, do you guys think that there is any chance for an american to get the part? i just think that if the person fits as the part, then it shouldn't matter what country they're from...especially with laveneder, seeing as she doesn't do a lot of talking!!

Sorry, but JKR is really determined that they only use British actors, I don't know why, but its her world, she invented it, so she should get a say in it. Now if Lavender were AMerican then it would be a different matter, but she is, so im really sorry but I don't think an american actress could get the part! They won't even use non-british actors for extras, so I guess that it would be even harder for an american to get a named part. They wouldn't even let non-british actors into the auditions, no matter how good their english accent is! I think its a bit tight, I mean, loads of AMerican girls flew in for the Luna auditions and got turned away, which is a bit harsh seeing as they spent all that time and money to get there, but thats how it is. I'm sure they'll be other roles though, not HP ones, but if you're determined I'm sure you'll make it yet!

i actually know someone who was an extra in GOF. given, her dad is a sceenplay writer, but none the less american. it was really cool...she saw dan, rupert, and emma in the great hall...

The thing is i don't think its harsh that the AMerican girls got sent away.. not because i'm mean, but because they were told it's for British girls only, so then if they tried out they should have known that they were going to get turned away becuase they're not British. And the thing about accents you may think that you have a great british accent but when someone from britian hears it they can tell your not, so i know it may be good but a british person watching it will be able to tell that its not real

Well i don't think there would be a problem with having American girls acting, if they could do a good british accent. but an american girl with ana american accent wouldn't really fit in as, yes, Hogwarts is british and so are all the actors. But if they could do a good accent then i don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to try out

As i said before british people will be able to tell that it's not real and then it won't seem right. To an american it may seem real, but as the school is for British witches and wizards only it would seem weird for a british person to hear a fake british accent trying to sound real. I know it may seem real to other countries, but we can tell. I am e.g. wit Leonardo with his south african accent, at first i thought it was good, but then my south african friend told me it was rubbish. we can just tell when it's your accent people are trying to take on, like if an english person tries an american one americans can tell its not real

As for the matter of americans auditioning, to be honest i dont think they should be allowed as JKR only wants a british cast. I think this kind of makes the movie a bit more special in some ways as it is all british people to do with it - if that makes sense And i no americans etc may think they can do a really good accent but no matter how good it is, true britains, (that sounds so cheesy!:P) can still tell when your accent is a fake.... Sorry

well i haven't got a reply from audition letters, but i got replies from other letters i sent to directors and stuff, but it was all the sorry but i can't kind of thing...

I hope the auditions are soon. I was thinking at my school the last day of exams is the 22nd of june, which means that all exams finish then because there public and you can't have the same exam on different days... so the auditions could be on the 23rd of june becuase no one will have exams then! just a thought... what do you guys think

I think they'll definitely have to be pretty soon after the exams because they've already started designing the set and so they'll need to get all the characters cast. How long do you think it'll take after the initial audition (if there is one!) to cast Lavender x

i think a week or so after the first initial auditions will be to early to find out who will be playing lavender to be honest, i would give it about 2 to 3 weeks probz, but we better find out about them soon!!

hey, what do you guys think Lavender is like? i mean her looks and personality... and do you think she's muggle born or from a pure bllod family?

from me:

i think she'll be dark blonde/ light brown hair. Green or blue eyes, average height. her build will be curvy, but still slim at the same time. She has too be pretty for ron to go with her and for hermione to get jealous and for ginny to get annoyed with ron. i know hermione would probably get jealous whatever she looked like, but if she wasn't that pretty ginny would probably laugh at his taste more then think he's a little hipocrite.

her peronality i think would be quite loud and sort of in a girly way sly, because in OotP she tries to get hermione jealous, though it doesn't work and then she steals her man... to be honest i think she knows all along that Ron likes hermione, because throughout the books you see Lavender not liking herminone for one thing or another. Like with the rabbit hermione is sort of rude about it and with the cenature and because hermione does nto have the all seeing eye (lol) she's definatly girly because of the way she calls ron won won and squeals and giggles all the time.

I think that Lavender would be from a pure blood family. I think this way it makes the contrast between Hermione and Lavender bigger and makes it even more unbelievable that Ron chooses her over Hermione.

I imagine her to be quite tall with long straight/wavy light brown hair. I agree that she does have to be pretty for Hermione to get jelous and for Ginny to feel how she does and also she has to be quite pretty so that Ron would go for her lol. I think she should be curvy in obvious ways but also quite slim but not as much as other characters so it makes a big difference. I can see her with brown or hazel eyes as well to kind of go with her hair.

As for her personality, i think she would be quite girly and ditzy in the way she calls Ron "won won" and such but also quite clever in school and the way she thinks and stuff, like the way she does things to deliberatly make Hermione jelous. She would also have to have quite a lot of confidence in the way she walks and acts that would make Ron notice her and want to be with her. She also seems like the kind of girl that, what she wants, she gets!

interesting, but with the pureblood, i'm not quite sure because in PoA she doesn't know what the grim is which makes me think that she might be muggle born because all the pureblood and half blood would know what the grim was. I think that having her muggle born would be interesting to see how she dresses compared to hermione, showing the contrast of similar back grounds and how they are so different. I don't really know, but because of the grim thing i would say she is probably muggle born
