It would be geat to find out audition news now! I'd have to get th train down to London too, there is no chance of my parents driving me down.

I don't have any idea when they will hold auditions, I'm not going on holiday this year and I'm not at school at the moment so I haven't got exams so I'm free all summer.

i dont think they would give as much as two weeks notice, for the luna ones i swear they only gave about 3 days notice!

but yer i really hope they tell us auditions information soon.

I think they proably will tell us before the film and book come out so that they can get it over and done with and have a rest after all the new stuff is out before having to go back to filming!

they will tell us a few days before i expect like with the Luna ones so that less people will go... otherwise people are able to cancel and perspone arrangements so they can go and there will be 100,000 going! and that will take so much time!

It'll probably be ages before we find something out, aslong as when we do find something out it will be that they are! having auditions because I will cry if they tell us there isn't going to be any auditions.

I was watching PoA yesterday (awful film, but it's HP so i still watch it ) and we're never actually told that the black is even Lavender, so it's probably likely that they are going to recast for HBP because she has such a big role in it, so fingers crossed the hold open auditions!! I was thinking about it earlier like what I would wear and say and do and stuff

well if they did hold open auditions for Lavender and did them like the luna auditions then you dont actually say anything apart from your name and where you are from. They then pick out people they probably think look the part which is about 10 people out of around 50 and then the rest are told thankyou for coming and your sent away basically and you no you have got no-where. So i wouldnt nother thinking about what you are going to say because unless you are one of the few lucky ones who will be told that they can have their photo taken (even though that means that you dont automatically get a call back!) and then you might have a chance to say something that would count. but i wouldnt htink to hard on it to be honest.

as for what to wear that probably would count for something. even though they tell you to go as yourself i very much they would pick some one like a goth (not that i have any problem with goths but there not exactly lavender are they!) so yer, mabey think a little bit about what you wanna wear but dont be like "omg 2 weeks to auditions, must decide what to wear now!! " lol

i wouldn't worry about what you would say, just try and look the part, though be yourself at the same time... and if you do get picked you, i saw in a Luna interview that you go into another room to say some lines (don't know if it's the same audition but i think it is) so even then you get given what to say, so there is no point preparing a speech, and if they ask you questions answer honestly and with confidence... we all want to be actresses here so if your nervous don't show it and be confident!

Though I haven't worn like loads of make up in ages cause I'm trying to get used to seeing myself without makeup so I don't feel ugly and gross but confident at the auditions, cause like you said you can't be nervous at all other wise you wont even get conisdered. Mind you I'll probably get too excited and faint or something.

I've just realised how sad I've become, well its not sad from my point of view, but all I really think about is HP, my friends have been pointing it out to me for years but they don't realise how much I want this, how much we all want this really!

I really want there to be auditions, but maybe they'll specify this time, I mean, with the Cho Chang auditions they specified white with dark hair, and with the Patil twins they had Asian/Indian with dark hair, but they didn't say anything for the Luna ones, if they do specify, I hope I meet their idea of Lavender! Well, I had my first Gcse today, science, but a year early! It went ok though, probably because I did about a zillion pages of revision notes. I get what you mean about thinking about HP a lot. My friends have noticed to, but most of them either don't really mind, or like HP loads aswell. Be careful though, I kept going on about Hp and one of my friends said something to me, which upset me, and everyone heard and didn't speak to her for ages, and she decided it was all my fault! But yeah, be careful how much you talk about it with your none Hp obsessed friends, 'cause they tend to get moody after a while! I can't wait for HPOOF film! and especailly can't wait for HPDH! How am I supposed to do 3 more GCSE's while waitng for that! Can't they bring it out early?!

I don't think they will specify much for Lav because there isn't a really clear description of her in the book, unless they have something in mind for what they think she should like I don't think it will really matter, except maybe skin colour because of the line 'couldn't tell who's hands were who's' that kind of suggests that Lav is white so they'll probably say that, plus it would be a bit of a push having two inter-racial relationships in the film, I don't mean to sound racist or anything by that but it's true.

I just hope we find out something about the auditions soon, and I really hope I'm not away for the auditions because I will be so devastated that I didn't get a chance!!

i think you can ring leavesden if you feel you need to confirm what they are saying, but everyone else who called were told to ring back in June. As for specifying, I doubt they will, although they may decide to specify white. I think though, because there may be an uproar about racism considering there is no real description of Lavender, so i think Leavesden will not specify, but will choose mainly white girls for the callbacks then go on to choose a white girl for the part. I still think she should have either goldeny or brown hair, with big eyes and long lashes etc. she should have curves but be thin, in other words be the popular, flirty type to show ron is shallow and she is the opposite of Hermione. I hope everyone followed that lol, sorry if I'm a bit confusing.
Anyway, I hope they give us more than a few days notice because I need to get down there! I have somewhere to stay and someone to go with, but i will need to book tickets etc. and that can take a while. Also, my parents aren't sure if they'll let me go so they might say no if it's last minute.
Yet another issue, I'm only 15 in August, so although I look about 18 ( I honestly do, I can always pass in the cinema etc. ) they might not let me in! but then, if I look older do you think they just won't ask my age and let me in? Because surely its too much hassle to ask every single girl for proof of their age unless they look young.
Because, if i get called back it's likely I will be 15 and I would be for filming anyway.
But what if they put an age-ban of 16 or 17 on??
I would be totally devastated because I really feel I could act the part ( dont we all? )

The Casting directors will know what they're looking for. They will ask jk rowling and she'll tell them what to look for in the girl they want to play Lav. As for calling the studios you could try, cos a got through not long ago there, but jst as sumone answered my moible battery ran out lolz. I forgot to charge it. Damit! And my parents won't let me use the house phone. I hope the auditions are not any time next week cause i'm going on holiday then. If the age ban is 16 - 17 and they don't ask for proof of age i could easyly pass cause i've been told i look 16 lmao!

I don't think the auditions would be next week I personally think they're more likely to be in summer but I dunno really, but it would be cool if they were with it being half term and everything so they wouldn't have to work around peoples exams or anything like that.

I think the lowest the age will go down to is 16, they might not even go down to that but they probably will seeing as she's meant to be 16 anyway (so maybe they could even go down to 15 - but it would probably be weird for Rupert kissing a 15 year old when he's like 19?)

They check passports though to check nationality to make sure you're British so they would check your age on that as well so I don't think you could pretend like you're older to get in.

I don't think it will be during half term it would be too soon, during the summer i think aswell because everything is out the way before they can start thinking about open auditions!

lolz i don't need to pretend to be older cause i'm 18, and i don't think they'll go any older than 19. I was talking about trying to pass off for younger. But if they do check then oh well just hope i'm the right age to audition.

I think if they have an age band which they probably will that'll it'll go up to 18/19 but i'm not sure how low they'll go, thy might go down to 15 but it's more likely that it'll be 16.

hey guys sorry i havnt posted in a while but i have been really busy revsin for this stupid science GCSE i have randomly this year and not with the rest of my exams nest year!

but anyways moving on to the actual subect! lol

In terms of auditions, i think we will be lucky to get about a weeks notcie if and when they give out information for them. I don't think they would give information much more than two weeks ahead anyways because it would probably give people more time to come from abroad as well even though they should no that they wont have a chance of even audtioning, let alone getting the part. I no that a few americans came to try for the luna auditions anyways which to be honest i think is silly as they should no by now that they wouldnt have a chance!
But yer if they do hold auditions, i wouldnt think to much into what you should say and what you should wear because the casting directors should be able to picture you wearing the clothes they picture lavender wearing and what you wear i dont think would make a hole lot of difference. Of course, i wouldnt exactly (if you are a goth or moshure) expect them to look at you loads. No affence at all its just as we all picture lavender being really girly and such, i dont think that is exactly the right look for her.
As for age restrictions, obviously i would hope that they would let it be a minimum age of 15 as i am 15 ( ) but in real terms i think the lowest age they would go to would be 16 because it would just be weird for rupert i expect coz he is what, 19?! yer i think 16 would probably be the minimum age. (not great for me )

But anyways, i have babbled on for too long now so i will be off

I'm pretty sure i tick most of the boxes, age (16), general looks, height, acting ability. I just need to know if i can make it to the auditions or not!

Because im doing exams and revision, i keep organising things to do over summer, so i have lots to look forward to and to motivate myself for exams. But im scared that i'll organise something at the same time as the auditions that i wont be able to get out of and that would be AWFUL!!!

I wish they'd tell us now, so we could know, but i think you're all right, they won't tell us untill the last minute...

Arghh! I know revising is so stressy and stuff I just want to know when they auditions are so that I have something to look forward to beside my holiday, which will probably end up being when the auditions are I will cry so much if they are!!

For anyone who wants info (or info about no info), I asked my mum to ring Leavesden the other day and they wouldn't tell her anything about auditions so I doubt that if they have them they'll be too soon.

Hopefully if I can go to the auditions I'm kind of what they're looking for, like Muggle_Born_Girl said, I'm kind of what we all seem to be looking for in Lav, I'm 16 (hopefully in the age ban) I can act and I'm not exactly unfortunate looking, I mean I've been told I'm pretty so I kind of came to the conclusion that I am.

Hopefully height won't matter to the casting directors as much as it does to us because I'm like 5'6"/5'7" ish which is kind of tall compared to what we all imagined her as being.

I know what you guys mean! The wait is agonising, it's so annoying that they always only give about a weeks notice on auditions, it's stupid really. I mean, fiona weir said the Luna auditions were to check they hadn't missed anyone. Well they probably missed a million people, beccause the notice was so short! It's ok if you live in London, but if you live anywhere else it's really difficult to get there at such short notice! Yeah, I know most people don't agree, but I imagined Lavender to be about 5'6''. with goldeny hair and big blue eyes.

Yeah I know what you mean about having to get into London fo the auditions, I live in Wales so to get up there will take me atleast 2 and half hours on a train, and then getting to the actual place will be a nightmare, plus some people live further away than I do, the casting directors really should take this into consideration.

And plus people have had holidays booked and stuff or want to book holidays but can't because they're waiting for information, so it would be better if htey told us stuff about auditions likes now!! I really really want to know whats happening

As ma friend has an agent and she has got a callback next week sometime. I'm well jealouse of her but all i can do at the moment is be a supportive friend , i guess lolz . And i know this because i know her agent as i've meet her. And i went along 2 the audition with my friend and her aunt. I woz aloud to go to them because, well my friends aunt is friends with David Hayman. You's all don't need to believe me as alot of people don't. But i know i'm tellin the truth. Arghhh! I have an agent, shes been looking out for stuff for me for months! I can't believe she hasn't found anything. Especially when everyone says they've started closed auditions!!!!! I'm going to speak to her, but then again she has been sorting out other stuff for me, but she knows I want this role more than anything! I'm going to speak to her and ask her to phone up Leavesden and have a word with them. Maybe they'll listen to her? They won't listen to any Lavender wannabes but they might listen to her.

I don't have an agent and quite frankly at the moment have no time to go looking for one what with my GCSEs and all but i'm just hoping that they hold open auditions after doing closed ones, they've done with practically every other character that has a fairly big part, and i think Lav will have a fairly big part she can't not!

As for looks I always imagined Lavender with dark hair because she's Lavender Brown. Kind of stupid but i always just made that connection. Plus i have dark hair and i really want to be Lavender !

My friend said her agent contacted the studio. But end of march early may and got told when the auditions were and were they were being held. And as for Lavs appearance well ma friend has long curly brown hair and kind of greenish brownish eyes and is really tall and curvy. Don't give up hope yet though, the casting agents will want to c everyone who they missed like the Luna auditions.

well that is how i imagined Lavender; tall, curvy, brown hair (although i didnt see if curly but i doubt it matters)

Angela_7- I got my agent through a drama group. I joined 'vale royal amatuer operatic society' and the woman said I showed really promising talent, especially with my acting and got in touch with a friend of hers who got in touch with a friend, etc. It took a while but I'm all sorted now! She's managed to find some great stuff for me, unfortunately its a nono with hp at the mo, she can't find anything! I don't get it, there has to be some information on auditions somewhere! I'm sure that you'll manage to find an agent though, it might take a while, but believe me, it's worth it! I hope she find something on hp auditions soon, or I might explode! I'll let you know if she discovers anything useful though, you all want this just as much as I do, so it's only fair I share with you guys! I know you lot would do the same for me! I don't think it really matters about hair colour and eyecolour, I mean, Emma Watsons blonde and hermiones brunette, and daniel radcliffes got blue eyes and harrys got green, so they can change all that easy, although if anyone has any idea what the directors are looking for it would help you, if you turn up looking how they want Lavender to look, it would obviously be easier to not have to be sorting out contacts and hair dying etc. but generally they are interested in what your physical features are, eg. build, height, weight, prettiness. Just stuff that would be extremely difficult to sort out with make up or computor stuff or lughting or, well you know, stuff they can't change with movie magic.

My image of lavender is short abuot 5'3" or 5'4" blonde hair bright blue eyes hour glass figure, but petite to give her the cute look though mayb give her a bit of a chest to give her the sex appeal!

Also with the height thing having her being 5'3" or 5'4" isn't going to be to hard to make them kiss i mean yeah he's 5'9" 5'10", but seriously i know it's not difficuilt.. i've kissed someone a lot taller and i'm only 5'3" and i didn't find it awkward!

I agree about the cute thing. i think she should be small to give her the cute innocent look... but she should still be able to pull off those dark and devious looks (ya know, with the eyebrow raised!)

depends on what size she is... because you want them in proportion (lol) and if she say a size 10 you wouldn't want her to be wondering around with jordon boobs because she'll just look to in your face! i would say that if shes say 8/10 more of a C cup and if she's a 12 a D/DD cup becuase if shes going to be small and petite i really don't think she'll be THAT big, i just see it more obvious because she's so small.. say like kylie

I get what you mean about playing Lavender. I love playing new characters, how you can develop them and make them your own. However, a lot of characters already have an indepth character, with Lavender we know very little about her! I mean, there's s much scope for her personality and reactions! You could take her anywhere! Ohhhh, I really want to play Laavender now. I am going to play Lavender, even if it's only in my dreams...

Yeah I know what you mean, I haven't been to the gym in ages and I used to go like 3 times a week (can't wait til GCSEs finish and go back!!) Mind you I started this exercise class that my mum goes to because she said it focused more on toning muscles rather than CVE (which is what I mainly do at the gym....love the treadmill !)

As for Lav I want her to be a 6/8 because I want to be her, but i think she should be about an 8/10 to give her a curvy-ish but not too curvy, also if she's a bit slimmer then that will show off her boobs, which should be about a C no more than a D, and like Lav said, she should definatley have an hourglass figure! This will give Hermione more reason to be jealous

Eleon I agree with you, because we know so little about Lavs character we really can do what ever we want with her (that sounds eww) But yeah! We could just explore her character so much and use what we do know from JKR to shape and mould her into what we think Lav should be.
DOubtful, but if i got the part I would be straight on here to ask for how you lot think she should be played because then at least I could use your ideas and my ideas to make the perfect Lav, like I would know what I shouldn't do that would make the audience go 'oh mi gosh why did they pick her?!'...hey, not gonna happen but I can dream

I totally get what you mean about exams, I haven't slept properly in forever, and I was off today 'cause I fell asleep in my lesson! OOPS! I think I went a bit OTT with all the revision. MAths wasn't that bad on Monday, I had loads of spare time, I finished in about an hour, so I sat and thought about auditions, and dancing and skating! It was quite fun actually!

Yeah, Lavender is such a great character, it will be so interesting to find out what direction the girl who does get the part takes her in, I hope it fits in with my image of her, it might ruin the film if it's not.

Oh yeah, I got an audition! Not for Lavender, but it's getting somewhere, I'm going to audition for Casualty on BBc 1, I don't know how long it'll take to be on TV, if I get on it, but I'll let you guys now. I also have a ballet thing and a skating audition! I'm going to be exhausted, I can't wait for the summer! I especially can't wait for Lavender auditions!!!!!!! We had 2 and a half hours for Maths! I finished so early, I hate Maths, But English (2 hours) today was really good, my story was so cool (One of my characters was called Lavender, the other James)

Anyway, I agree with Lav, I don't want this part to become famous or anything I just so desperatley want to act, I love acting soo much and theatre (not musical) or film is what I want to do when I'm older. I think theatre would actually be better because you'd be in work longer, not out of work all the time, and i love performing to an audience it's so cool and is such a rush!

I hope we find out something soon, I mean GCSEs will be finished after the 18th (for me anyway i dont know about any other exams...) and i just hope we find out something, though with the wait and everything and all the hype about the film and book, if they do do open auditions, which they better, I think its most likley to be after that, I mean if they're only doing closed auditions now they might not be done with call backs and things for a few weeks, which will be too close to the film release to do open auditions straight away. If Luna was only chosen a few weeks before casting then it's likely if the have open auditions it would be the same, which means they would probably be late July or sometime in August, which is good for me
