I was just thinking do you think they will include lavender brown in HbP? she isn't physically described in any of the books so what do you all think she looks like? who do you think should play the part of lavender or will they completely cut her out?

well they kinda cant cut her, I mean she is the subplot that makes hr and r come closer.

Oh they have to include her. It's compulsery. And I think that she's going to be quite pretty, because it sorta fits her. You know, she's Rons first, and he's shallow, so she's basically going to be pretty. And brown haired, I mean, her names Brown, so I imagine her as a naturally tanned person with brown hair.

Lavender brown should be in the movie because she is what causes the huge jealousy with hermione. it effects ron and hermiones friendship and "relationship" and it would also be a shame if they cut out the part of hermione throwing the birds at ron. that is a great part in the book. lavender is also important as to ron because she is his frist kiss and first girlfriend.

yay! i agree with you all! lavender has to be in the movie! i mean -she's really important in book 6 and all r/h fans moaned when ron went out with her, i think they just can't cut her! she'd just make the movie more enjoyable!

Hi! Sorry about lack of signature pic etc., I just registered. But yeah, I've wanted to play Lavender since I read book six. There better be auditions, 'cos I've been psyching myself up for them since God knows when! I just think she's a great character with loads of hidden depth that an amateur actress like me could really get her teeth into. I think I'm right for the part. Quite tall, Ok, but I'm not too ugly and I have thick brown hair and green eyes. So I stand a chance in the appearence department, but in the end, it all comes down to skill. Since you can do virtually anything with makeup, I reckon anyone who is good at acting stands a chance. So good luck, all you Lavender wannabes, and may the best actress win!

lol this is so random.. I've thought about it too because I've got brown hair.. haha and that just seems to be the only requirment for lavender brown in my head. but im not sure if im vey good at acting and also... getting off with "ron"... on a film.... my parents would see that. seems a bit wrong lol... hahaha oh well... we shall see!!

i think that she has long straight brown hair, a bit ditzy brown eyes, fair skin, because ron has fair skin and quoted from the books j.k describes (when ron and lavender are kissing)
you could hardly tell whos hands where whos!!. so they must have simillar colouerd skin right. and brown is her surname so i kinda imagined her with brown hair.
also i think she should be quite pretty natural pretty not made up with loads of make up.

i'm pretty sure they are going to include her... the general public (especially girls) like romance, so if they include more romance, more people are probably going to see the film, which is better for the filmmakers... plus ron's and lavender's relationship and hermione getting jealous is a big subplot in the book...

I agree that lavender should be included. She does play a major part in one of the main, if not the main subplot in the book. Fighting between the main characters have always been included in any of the movies, and this should be no different. The story might not be quite as long, but it will make an appearance. Plus, it makes for a good movie.



On the casting, I can't see the young lady who played lavender previously making it again. She just doesn't seem to look the part to me. Also, I cannot see the movie studio going for two interracial relationships in one film (of course, they may cut out the Ginny/Dean relationship. Though, I hope not, because I love the part about harry splitting them up while on felix in the invisibility coat). I just think that, sorry to say, interracial relationships still have a certain stigma (at least in american culture anyway), and I can't see WB going for the interracial card twice in one film. Plus, I would hope someone over there at WB would realize that having the "wrong" person (lavender/dean) be of african descent while the "right" person (hermione/harry) be "suitably" caucasian (sarcasm intended) twice in one film might be offensive to someone.



I always pictured lavender as a blond. I know her name is brown, but I picture as being the anti-hermione (well, Phelm is the anti-hermione, but that's beside the point), so I picture her has blond, popular, well dressed, and pretty. Hermione is supposed to be dark, unpopular, and poor in appearance (remember Harry and Ron didn't recognize her when she actually took time to make herself up). Hermione is pretty, but she is too much of a bookworm to put so much time in something as trivial as her hair.

Lavander should be included in the movie because she is what sets the plot for Hermione's jealousy. I fLavander Brown and Ron didn't get together then Hermione would not have realized how she really feels about Ron. If they cut Lavander out of the movies then Hermione doesn't really have a good reason to be upset wiht Ron. But like hermione said in the GoF, Ron shouold have asked her right away and not have waited as a last resort. Well Hermione probanly shouoold have practiced what she preeched. I still think Ron and Hermione will be together for the rest of their lives! They go really good together!

I think JKR will make them include her. She knows how important Lavender is to book six and she knows what is going to happen with her and more importantly what won't happen without her. So JKR will make sure they include her.

All I hope for is that she'll be good at squealing, "Won-Won."

Well Umm, they kind of have to include her being she snogs Ron half the movie, Hermiones jealous, Ginnys mad and I guess Harry is discusted (sp?).. So they do have to include her.

I think Lavender would be played well by Sarah Bolger pr Liesel Matthews. However, since they are only casting british actresses. . .i have no idea. But i really hope they don't pull a "mary-kate and ashley type person" on us.

they will really need Lavender in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Movie because Lavender is a big part Ron needs to Snog Her so that Hermione Will get Jelous so they need a real pretty girl to make Hermione Jelous.

I don't think Hermione was exactly jealous of Lavender because she was pretty and Ron liked Lavender instead of her... Ron purposely started going out with Lavender just to prove Ginny wrong, not because he liked her better than Hermy. and the reason she was going out of her way to annoy Ron wasn't because she was just jealous of lavender; she was angry at Ron for treating her badly. Maybe Hermione could have realized that ron liked her and just tried to get him to realize it by going out with Mclaggen. You have a point but I think that if lavender was that pretty in the movie, then people might get the wrong message about why hermione was jealous.

I hope they include Lavender because she plays a huge role in Ron's development, and in his and Hermione's friendship. As for what she looks like, Jo has never really said anything, but if WB chooses to include her, I bet Jo would tell them what to look for while casting. I hope Lavender is in the movie!

I think they will definitely have the story line in there of ron going out with someone else and "thrashing around like eels" etc because everyone wants to see the romantic drama and it will be lots of fun. But with the way the movies are going so far they may replace her with another character completely. They've never mentioned her at all in the movies and she's always supposed to be hanging around with parvati. In the movies parvati is always with padma. Maybe it will be padma or someone else?? I don't know but I definitely can't wait

I think that in the movie, they will at least include Lavender, because she is a major part of the plot; if anything, I think that they'll exaggerate the thing with Lavender and Ron (even though they didn't put her in the previous movies). But I don't think it will be at all the same as it was in the book; everything that they put in the movie is always turned into something shallow... meaning I don't think that they will go into great detail about why Ron started going out with her, they'll just go into the fact that Hermione was jealous of him.

I soo much wanna see her in the movie!! I mean I just loved how this shrewd triangle between ron, hermy and lavender formed... Ron loving Hermione, but making think his sister was wrong about him with girls, so he makes as he loves Lavender, and Hermione jealous, oooh so jealous... I just NEED to see that in the movie. It must be there. Don't you think it was, like, a CENTRAL thing in the book? Without it, the book would be half the length it is now. If they don't include it... I'm gonna hate that movie, because it will become kinda boring.

They have to include Lavender in the movie because it will show how much Ron is changing and it goes on to show his feelings toward Hermionie. Even though she isn't a real big character in the book, she is a really important bit. If they cut her out of the movie it's a big mistake!

i think lavander will deffenitly be in the movie but the casting idk... they suprised me with the casting of pavarti and padama they looked completly different from what i expected and without even a description of lavander we cant really tell but i have always pictured her as brown hair, shorter then pavarti but with a very beautiful figure

I wreckon Lavender Brown will be cast becuase I think ( I havent read the boook for a while) that is the main source of humour.

On her appearance I think she should be pretty, white withe medium brown hair. I also think she should obviously attractive but the opposite to emma so busty and curvy. I think that would make more reasons for Emma not to like her and for Ron to seem more shallow. (no offence to curvy people). I think they will recast her because there will be a new director who probably want as much control over what lavender looks like, and as the "other" Lavender was not named in the film (i dont think at least) theres nothing to stop them recasting her.

lavender should be in that movie just look at the part she plays in the whole ron and hermione realising that they like each other e.g. in HBP ron hides behind hermione when he thinks lavender is walking past hermione says its not her ron replys i love u hermione.

Hermione goes all red in the face and from then on acts different around ron as you can see lavender plays a big part in ron and hermione realising what they both mean to each other.

they can't cut out lavender, she's a minor role but she plays such a big part in the story line. She helps bring out the tension between Ron and Hermione. She'd be a good character to play - she's girly, [MOD EDIT] and extremely clingy and overly-sensitive. oooooh, it's be fun. Plus you'd get to kiss Rupert - what an added bonus!
I hope they'll do an open cast call, i wasn't allowed to go to the Luna one (i don't actually look the part of Luna anyway) so my parents pomised to let me go to the Lavender one. If they hold it. They may just cast one of the extras, you never know.

i think that she should bare a resemblence to hermione like bushy/ wavy hair so that ron would find himself more attracted to her then he should. i agree that she should look different aswell (like someone said, busty/curvy) so she looks individual but also hermione-ish aswell. I always imagined her to be white with light to medium brown hair that's slightly busy and she was always quit pretty. She should be obviously attractive to show that Ron would like her. I read on another website that someone was saying that they could cast padma/parvati (can't remember which) as avender. That wouldn't work! Parvati is lavender's best friend and padma is parvati's sister!
Thought just sprung to mind. In GOF they were pronouncing paRvati as pavaRti. where did they get that from?

hey i remember Jennifer Smith played Lavender in POA, but she might not come back for 5 and 6 and 7. SO everybody is open to try to play her.

I have heard that her contract hasnt been renewed.

Also i think she was an extra that got lucky if you get me lol.

I have some questions regarding Lavender:

(1) isn't the character of African descent (i.e. black) in the books?

(2) do the 'power's that be' want to have a Caucasian girl play the role of Lavender in the next films?

(3) will the 'power's that be' hold a casting call for the new (white and improved?) Lavender, like they did for Luna's character?

(4) who in their right mind would want to play the role? Hello! They get to snog and then be rejected by Ron of all people! The girl who portrays Lavender in film #6 will come across as "boy-crazy", "being easy", repugnant and a bit of a tramp.
I suppose the girl will do it for the money, and for the fact that she will star in a Harry Potter film! Forget the pride.

I do think Lavender Brown should be included in the movie. She is important for the story of Ron and Hermione. I mean, is because of Lavender that Hermione almost dies of jeaulousy. 1) In the books we have neva had a real appearence from jk. But in the 6th book JK implies that Lavender is white. She says when Ron and Lavender are kissing. There arms were so wrapped round each other it was hard to tell whose arms were whos.

2)I believe the CDs are after a Caucasian girl to play the part. But I have not heard any news yet.

3)I think that the CDs will b casting Lavender for the #6 movie.

4)I am in my right mind lol. I really wanna play Lavender she seems an amazing character. You would be able to show a range of your acting ability if you played her, because she goes through alot of emotions. Love, anger, jealousy, and a bit of ****iness. She doesnt get rejected by ron she dumps Ron. Although Ron was happy about it. Also it is a 1 in a life time opportunity to act in an amazing film that is Harry Potter.
