I was wondering if anything ever happened in your life that made you think of Harry Potter? It sounds a little weird, I know.
Well I was thinking a week or so ago about my German class. We keep going through German teachers. I realized this is like DADA. We've had 4 German teachers in four years. I thought that was a little spooky.
My eighth grade math teacher was like Professor Snape. Just about everybody hated him. He scared everyone. He didn't seem to care if he embarassed you.
So does anyone have anything like this that has happened to them? If you do tell me. I like to hear it.

When I started high school almost a year ago, each student had a certain username and password when they logged on to the computers. Each grade has a certain domain they needed to log onto. The freshmen were "Gryffindor", while the seniors were "Slytherins" and one of the grades were "Hufflepuff". There was also a "Hogwarts" one which I think was for the teachers. Sadly, Ravenclaw were nowhere to be seen. I should complain to my principal Mr. Dumble- err i mean Cunningham. So I wonder where the other house of Hogwarts went?
Like zyra, I used to say random spells. Once I forgot my keys and well I said "Alohomora!". Waiting for the magic to happen took forever.
I used to have "duels" with my brother and the person would lose when we ran out of spells to say. Then we started making them up.

I have an Umbridge for Grammer and Lit., horrible teacher she is, just horrible, detentions (or marks off) if she disagrees with your opinion and of course she tries to make it seem that all the teachers are stupid and all we ever do is read and write from the book, how fun

I was in spanish conjugating the verb "proteger", which means to protect.
And trying to conjugate, proteger, I made it "protego". I said to myself, "that must be right because it sounds familiar". I was wrong with the answer and I remembered "protego" was a spell from Harry Ppotter.

My mom asked me to make a copy from the 'The Prisoner of Zenda' VCD she got from her friend. So, there I was, burning the CD and when it's completed I was writing down the title on the surface of the CD when I realize I had
almost write it as 'the Prisoner of Azkaban' instead of 'Zenda'. Duh!!

These are funny. I love reading these. Maybe I'll try some spells sometime. I want to go to the door right now and say Alohomora. lol Maybe when I turn a light on I'll say Lumos and when I turn it off I'll say nox. lol
My Biology teacher has a helper dude here this year. Well he teaches the class. I never hear from the actual teacher which I wish I did. I think he'd be nicer. This guy Mr. Nilits or something like that is my new Snape. He was in the army. He said he went to Iraq. Well he teaches us like we're in military school. He can be a jerk. Sometimes he's ok but usually not.

Lol, Dana. I don't even remember I said. haha. I have such a horrible memory.
I was Harry Potter for Halloween. Wow, Harry Potter is so universal! Almost everybody could tell who I wasand my wand (from Party City) was helpful too. I would take my wand and use it to ring the doorbells! Everyone knows who Harry Potter is. (Except that woman who thought I was an executive because she couldn't see my robe)
And the other day during class, someone had drawn Harry Potter on the desk and some girl had said next to me, "it's Harry Potter!". And I just asked, "Where?". Someone had drawn a pretty accurate face of Harry. It looked like one of those notes Malfoy drew and threw at Harry in the movie. You know, the one with Harry getting shocked or something.

My three year old grabbed our broom and hopped on it shouting, "I'm flying mommy! I Harry Potter!"
I've begun noticing character similarities in other books thinking, "Humm, she reminds me of Ginny."
I've noticed an increase in British slang in our home since the introduction of Harry Potter movies and books.
I can't help thinking of Madam Hooch whenever I hear the song, Everything.

There are some weird things going around me too:
My french teacher seems to be the perfect incarnation of Umbridge: the same impossible character(I wonder if J.K. had her as a model - impossible

)
My informatics classes bare the same atmosphere from Harry's Divination classes: the specific smell of fresh PCV in the lab, the warmth from the coolers that sends me into the land of dreams after freezing in the classroom in winter(though my informatics teacher resembles a lot to Dumbledore - she is just so loving and wise!), the computer which is a symbol of the future, just like the crystal ball, etc.
I too have a teacher resembling Binns - he doesn't keep on talking, but ge is boring and would never stop teaching (otherwise he's a cool person = philosophy teacher

)
We also have 4 classes to which I found HP houses characteristics: Informatics-Ravenclaw(because we just love to study and to be the best at it), Economy-Griffindor(because of the courage you need to want to study economy),Electronics-Slytherin(because there are 90% boys in these classes an they are kind of "mean" sometimes - usually prankers),Literature-Hufflepuff(because literature brings out the sensitive part in people)
...and I could go on, but I'm sleepy and can't remember now... maybe I'll tell you more later.
By the way, I too try to summom things or to warm up with a spell, or to obliviate people, and I just get irritated when I can't!

The friendship between me and my best friend Joe is a lot like Harry and Hermione's friendship. I love him like a brother, and he loves me like a sister. I give him advice about stuff, but he tends to do whatever he wants anyway. And also people have thought we where together, which is really annoying. Or that I liked Joe and that I was going to take him anyway from someone who will remain nameless, Cho anyone?

I have a Weasley connection.
There are 7 Weasley's 6 boys one girl. We are 6 girls one boy. Our house was crowded and a bit ramshackle. My mum was a great cook and.....her name is Molly!
My Physics teacher in school back in the 70's, a man called Mr Good, sat behind a desk not unlike Snapes. He also had a sarcastic tone to his voice and would say things like 'You, what colour is a red bus'?
i am the ultimate prankster

OMG i thought i was the only one that shouted out random spells when i can't find my keys or open my locker, ect. but yah i have a trelawney at my school, she's my english/leadership teac.
snape-would have to be my american history teach from last yr.
binns-my principle has to have the most monotone voice ever i always fall asleep at assemblies when he speaks
McGonagall-would definitley have to be my spanish teach she is sooooooo strict when it comes to the rules.
i can't think of all my teachers right now so i'll get back to you on the teach relations to HP
yah when i got mad at one of my friends when they turned their back i murmured "petrificus totalus" she looked at me like i was crazy or something.
when my mom and i forget our keys inside i will, before i let anyone climb through the window,
shout alohamora and my neighbors generally tease me now!!!
also in my friends there are the dracos, the olivers, the rons and hermiones, the hermiones and harrys, the freds and georges, and everything in between.

I have the BEST thing that relates to Harry Potter in my life! Seriously none of you can top this!
Ever since my class came in seventh grade no band teacher has lasted longer than a year. It's the band curse! Just like the DADA teachers it's so cool. The best part is we have a really mean teacher right now so he won't be here next year. At least we hope the curse comtinues. Nobody thinks our current eacher is going to last.
It's so cool! I love it!

hmm.. lots to say for this one.
firstly, one time i was walking home from the library, and it was really dark, and i got freaked out, so, without realizing what i was doing, i pulled my pencil out of my pocket, and held it up in front of me like a wand! then i laughed when i realized what i had done, and then got angry when i said "lumos" and nothing happened
also, whenever i turn on a light i say lumos, and it annoys the heck outta my family, even if i whisper it.
at one of my old schools, we had four "houses" and it was funny, because i always felt special at that school, because i was in a "house!" at my current school, i freaked out the first time i came to it, because we had a greenhouse in the back, and i remember calling up my freind, because i thought that i was going to take herbology!
um... also, my two best freinds, shannon and jessica, are called padfoot and moony! i was prongs! and with my sister, my cousin, and i, my sis was prongs, my cousin was padfoot, and i was moony!
and then one time, in class, we were discussing a book, and the teacher was summerizing about how the main character of the book, had a 'big head' and that he was superior because he was a bigshot (american) fottball player, and how he had a crush on this girl, but she thought he was arrogant and concieted, and needed to deflate his head, even though everyone else liked him, and i remember thinking 'that sounds EXACTLY like James and Lily!' it was SO weird!
and then, another time... okay, you all get the point, i have a lot of things in my life that remind me of HP. sad things, happy things, events, people, pretty much anything almost!i could list more, but that would take a LONG time!

OK, I know people say this often, but my science teacher is a replica of Binns!
1. She has a monotone voice.
2. She has never smiled and frowns so much that she has two really deep lines pointing down from the edges of her mouth.
3. She doesn't want to talk about anything but whatever is written in the books, like Binns, because he just wants to read from that History book and that's it!
4. She makes classes even more boring than they should be, since the stuff we're learning isn't as bad as she makes it.
5. Hers is the only class people ever fall asleep during.
6. It's also the only class during which people start building eraser pyramids and paper clip chains or whatever to keep themselves entertained.
7. Sometimes, she even says, "Listen, I don't want to be here either, so just let us get this chapter over with!"
How awful for a teacher to admit that her class is awful!

Yeah, my printer!!!lol. My printer is HP laserjet and HP is the initial of my craze!! lol.
There is my whole school to remind me bout HP. I have matched all off my teachers and subjects with those of Hogwarts.
Firstly, there was my Middle School principal. She is very, very strict but if you ask for help she is really, really polite and kind. she just hates rule-breakers. So she's like McGonagall.
Then there is my current teacher of French who stutters. She's Quirell.
Another middle school teacher who is very nice and everone's fav. She's Lupin.
My Middle School Science teacher who has a very sweet voice but is very mean and cruel in handing out marks, she doesn't even explain the text to us, just keeps reading and reading. She's Umbridge.
And my Bio teacher. She is really sleepy and slow and makes us sleep too. She is Binns
There are other teachers too, but these are the ones which really match.

I am a lot like Hermione. Smarter than average (not trying to be conceited), thick hair (though mine's not frizzy), a veracious reader, interested in many things, and I relate to her in many ways.
I also find myself saying spells in my head when I want something to happen. For example when I wake up in the middle of the night and I don't want to get up to turn a light on in my head I say "Lumos!"

interesting topic!!!
hmz...
From time to time I've thought of HP when reading books with a flashlight under my bedsheets... think PoA chapter 1
I've had a few Trelawneyish teachers... honestly, an English teacher for Grade 8 academic challenge program shouldn't be asking her class how to spell "schedule"! And then there was a very memorable Grade 10 IB math teacher... all show, no real teaching skills. She had a terrible Chinese accent and was difficult to understand, but she could only speak English. She wore tattoed on eye-shadow, fake eyelashes, stilletos, and miniskirts; even a corsette one Christmas. She would write frilly stuff on report cards like "I just love so and so's adorable smile!" Didn't learn a thing all year... and she'd often mess up when doing examples on the board.

I had a teacher for American History last year named Mrs. Stella, and she reminded me a lot of DD.
I know that its wierd to compare a guy to a girl, but i mean personality wise.
she LOVED me and still does...
lol i told her this and she had no idea wat i was talking about.
she doesnt really read HP, so ya, but she reminds me a lot of DD.
shes protective of her students and always tries to be their friends.

I make at least one reference to harry potter daily and bring my wand to school every day. If my friends hair messes up i have a habit of touching it with my wand and saying reparo. I also tend to hex people who laugh at my wand and seeing as i cant actually hex them they get poked.
PurpleForge
Jan 29 2007, 05:19 AM
Ok so I'll be honest, I own a wand and I carry it with me everywhere. My friends and I cast spells at each other during class.
One time my friend cast silencio and I couldn't answer when my spanish teacher called on me so I shook my head but she wouldn't get the hint and was questioning me about why I wasn't talking but I had to wait till my friend had finito-ed the spell so I could explain.
Everyone in the class though we were nut jobs.
To be honest, I don't think my life really relates but I find instances that just remind me of harry potter like when I'm in bio and its just a slow day and I make a comment like, "this is worse than lockhart acting out scenes from his book," or "i'd rather be bored to death feeding a flobberworm"...
People in my school just know my friends and I as the Harry potter nerds so we make our lives about harry potter whether it is administring a mass sorting or creating a harry potter crossword instead of doing math homework...

Well ... in year 9, there was this guy in my class who looked like a Asian version of Harry. It was quite funny and we teased him a lot. (We're mean-i know. And no offence to Asian HP fans out there. I love you really.)
Also, My English teacher is soooooooo Lunaish. She's so random and will say anything. Like we'll be working all silent then she'll suddenly go "Oh! I so totaly get that now!" and one time she screamed!
Also, she sings to herself a lot which is funny, and syays the randomist things, just like Luna. She's the best teacher though.
Also, again in year 9, my Maths teacher was so boring, he put us to sleep. In a litteral sense. Such a Binns.
Again in year 9, my science teacher was so horrible, she remined me so so much of Umbridge (Grrr ... Umbridge)
In ... when else? Year 9, There was a girl obbssessed with sports-such a Oliver Wood.
Last year in year 10, there were a group of girls who reminded me of Lavender and Parvarti.
And also in year 9, there was a girl so full of herself, it wasn't even funny-such a lockheart.
Looking back on it, year 9 was a good year ... lol.
