Yes the computer pretty much controls my spare time...just like the elves at the factory control my mind . yup i need to get some new hobbies. so i want to know what you all do when you have spare time. i hope you all have good things to do! haha and i also think of weird things like what colors i should dye my hair and what my friends are doing right now and all these weird things...like elves at my brain factory. haha i know, weird!

Hey there! I like going online a lot! I also like reading. Some books that you might seemed interested in is some books writen by dave petzler (sp?). I also like spending time with my friends, and going to movies. Hmm... ohh... i think i told you once that i was emailing "weird" pictures with my friends. yeah... those were weird fall out Boy pictures.... I really don't have a life..... lol...

My life revolves two things: music, and bbq.

I get on myspace to promote myslef and my music, I scream and sing... (like a beast, baby...) cruch out schweet riffs in my spare time, write lyrics, eat bbq, cruisin with friends to get food for bbq while listening to Norma Jean, etc...

If you're finding yourself glued to your computer screen all summer, I LUV FALL OUT BOY (I apologize for sounding a bit formal there; I don't believe I yet know your first name ), my solution to any boredom/apathy-related problem is to take a course. You could try something online or at a local university depending on where you live, or if it's too late to register for something like that, you ought to create your own intellectual experience. Museums are a good place to start, for example, because if you listen to the audio guides, you learn not only about art but also a ton about history, cultural tradition, etc.

I know it sounds like a dull plan, or at best, very cheesy, but it really does work-- I've studied in some form or another over the past four summers, and it's been great. If you don't like the idea of an academically-oriented break from school, try to get a job. IMO, it's really important to do stuff with your head, even during "down time." If thinking is one of your hobbies, it's pretty difficult to get bored.

I also would recommend trying to do some outdoors activities in the nice weather-- I like going on long walks, hiking, photography, that sort of thing. During the school year (throughout high school, at least), I didn't have a TON of free time, but I was involved in music (albeit I did not make a huge commitment to practicing my instrument ) and I was a mathlete (adding to the nerdy personal image, I know ).

All that being said, I'm guilty of spending a fair amount of time online myself (*shakes head and glares at post count*). Throughout the back half of junior year in particular, I hung around VTM a LOT-- definitely an hour to two hours a day on weekdays, and even more on weekends. I've been trying to break the checking emails fifty times a day habit lately, but personally, I think that if you're going to spend your time on the Internet, a fan site for a book is a great place to be. Don't get too sucked into MySpace and those blog-type thingies though... I've never been a member of one of those sites myself, but some of my friends have gotten verrrrrry obsessed.

Thanks for the advice, Allie! By the way, my name's hannah . I've tried to go to this college program thingy for kids during the summer, but hehe i signed up late and there weren't many courses left that i wanted to take, so yeah.

Don't worry those plans were certainly not cheezy. i'm not a sucker for history, but it would be cool to go to an art mueseum or something.

I spend at least half an hour here on VTM, so i guess that's an improvement to my free-time schedule...and it's a pretty great site here. I spend like an hour on MySpace...haha yay, i cut down my time on myspace! i used to spend like three hours on there, so now this is an improvement because it is very addicting. and now i spend half an hour or so playing some card games, like hearts or solitare on my laptop, so i am not so bored and i don't go on the internet as often. so yeah.

Well in my spare time I find myself pretty leveled out. I do spend time on the computer and internet though some of that is a neccisity. Years ago I got my degree in Computer Science but have started back to school. I was bored a year ago and decided to take in a lecture on Forensic Science. I found myself truly fascinated in the subject and after several inquries decided to take the classes needed to take a career in that field. So in your spare time if you get out and do some things even just something minor...i.e. taking in a lecture you never know what doors they will open.
This isn't to say that I still don't use my computer science knowledge. As a hobby I help maintain and run a Sci-Fi community chat though of course I can't give that URL here . I also read just about anything I can get my hands on. I try and stay away from the TV with the exception of mabye 3 or 4 good shows. I think that Allie is absolutely right and am the same way. I like to do things that engage my mind. With your mind always engaged in something you can rarely be bored

Well, I use to be REALLY obsessed with HP forums for like 6 months & I would spend all my time there, but recently, I've broken the habit. [And thank God for it! ] It really took over my life for a while there, cos I tend to get ... 'obsessed'.

Now that it's summer, I spend my time online, reading [hardly], and that's really it. But I'm trying to become more productive, if that's ever going to happen.

Ohhh yeah, I also eat tons of junk food, watch movies, and hang out with my friends sometimes. I'm currently volunteering at the library [but that's only once a week...], and I ride my bike alot.

I just joined a gym, so I hope to work out & get into shape this summer...

Because i just got a guitar, im begining to learn how to play. i can basically play this beginner song, and im getting really good (consindering that i got it 2 weeks ago). I should learn most of "Dance, dance" by my next class!

oh wow, you get to play the guitar! i was thinking of taking guitar lessons, either that or bass lessons so that i don't feel so extremely bored. but i don't know how much guitars/basses cost and my mom has spent waaaayyyy too much money on me and my "lessons" that i wanted to take but have quited on most of them after 1 year. but i have sooo much time on my hands that some music lessons sound good, so i'm considering taking lessons like by the start of 2007...

......i spend a lot of my time on youtube, hehe i'm such a dork i actually made myself an account when i don't even need it. well i watch tons of fall out boy videos, i think i watched like 25 this week. and well yeah i am a computer freak.

I used to be in "self-defese" classes, but i quit after 2 years. I used to play flute also, but i quit after 1 year. My guitar cost around $200, but that was with an amp, and everything (i know im cheap!). The basses were more expensive though. Learning is fun though...

hehe, i have some sort of little booklet that i write in...i sometimes write in it when im bored, about all kinds of personal stuff. its not a diary though, it doesnt have a lock and anyone (who can find it , sh*t i hope my mom doesnt find it...) can read it, yet no one knows i have it.

haha writing "i love fall out boy" on a whole page of paper? hehe you must have been really bored! sometimes i IM my friend (just one, shes the only one who IMs me anyways) and we talk for like half an hour...and then when i have nothing to say, she writes "i love pink floyd/led zeppelin/etc." and i write "i luv fall out boy" and then we have nothing else to say so we leave, haha.

and now i worry about school in my spare time...oh my gosh it starts monday july 17! i keep worrying that ill be late and get a detention on the first day and forget something or break the rules in some way or another and have to go to saturday school/summer school. i need to keep my mind of those things.

What Do I Do In My Spare Time? Well, ladies & gents, brace yourself, for you are about to enter dorkland. I am quite the boring person. In my spare time I write. I write all the time. My dad says I spend too much time with my notebook. (it kind of hurt when he said it) I like writing poetry, narrative works, short stories, books, I'm trying to create a comic, but I've never really read them, so thats being difficult with me. But I also like to read. I've posted on a lot of other threads about what I like to read. Basically anything, includes shampoo bottles. When I was little I was such a book worm. I kind of still am, but I'm really into reading about morticians and funeral directors, thier line of work, etc. I listen to music too much for it to be legal. Actually Im listening to music right now, its sort of a sickness I just recently bought a keyboard, some $10 toy, but me being the wicked kid I am, I was so excited over it. It's pretty nifty. I dont watch a whole bunch of TV, but when I do its Rescue Me (FX) or Gilmore Girls (abc family, WB) and Its Always Sunny In Philadelpihia (FX) So basically I'm normal...I dont do anything out of the ordinary. I barely leave my house...I'm boring and my hobbies are boring.

Okay well in my spare time I like to go running,um draw and paint,go on msn,go to the movies,go to the shops ,read,paint my nails,listen to music...um thats all I can think of at the moment.

I love writing music! My minor is Music Theory and Compisition, and writing, singing, or playing helps me get unstressed. I sing opera, and have ever since i was like 2. I taught myself how to play piano when i was 13, and i love writing music to play on it.

I also like to compete in pageants, and my talent for the talent part of the compitition is singing. Last year my song was "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera, and i sang along to an instrumental. This year it will be "No Good Deed" From Wicked, and i want to learn to how to play it on the piano and sing at the same time

I can play "Broken" by Seether ft. Amy Lee, and sing at the same time, but it is a relativly easy song to play, so i hope i can learn teh No Good Deed Song

I love to read! I read the whole HP series in two days! I also love to play soccer in the front yard with my little brother and at the soccer field with my team! I love to play basketball for my school and hang out with friends! I like to watch movies and spend the night at my friend's house. I love to go on the computer to Veritaserum

I love playing the piano and singing. I've recently taken a liking to composing, though none of my songs are completed or that great. I also like reading, writing and sketching. Basically, anything creative. I also play the violin and cello, but I'm not too good at them! But oh well!

Well I'm on VTM a lot. I write all the time, I read a lot. I play sports. I play Pokemon on my Game Boy. I watch TV. I play with my siblings. Lol we played ninjas last night after watching Naruto. We were rough, kept pulling hair and throwing each other on the couch.

I'm such a nerd I have beaten all of the pokemon and I spend a fair amount of time on here. Let's see what else...oh yeah, I am seriously into anime. I make up for my nerdiness by doing cool things, like sing in a rock band (not in a band anymore but I am trying to make another one), play bass, and I used to play waterpolo. So I even out ok.
