I can't wait, I'm very excited. I love Will Turner because he's a bit of a loveable loser, Elizabeth because even though she's like this princess that's been kept up in her castle, she's still strong, and Jack because he's hirlaous and completely honest about everything.
It's going to be awsome.

Will Turner in my book is a very smooshy guy. everytime he speaks it's like you want to fall over. Kiera Knightly is good as Elizabeth Swan and i hope she has as much of a part as the others do in the film. For instance in the first film all of them had an equal share in their roles which was a good balance. Finally Johnny Depp is the one who makes the movie. he is by far the best in the movies and i will be glad to see him clashin swords again and making silly jokes. i hope it's alright to say this but i heard that Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will end on a cliffhanger. I guess that will work since they are making a third and final one. Pirates of the Caribbean is a fantastic movie and i can't wait to see the 2nd installment out in theaters!

Yes, I've heard that too. My mom heard it on her radio show, she said that and people will have to wait a long time for the thrid, November, I think she said. I said November isn't that long, because Harry Potter fans know how to wait it out .

I really don't like Kiera Knightley. I think I spelled her name wrong, but oh well. She's just one of those actresses I feel like I can see her acting. Johnny, on the other hand, looks like he woke up as Jack Sparrow and just came to pilfer and pillage. I Johnny. I think Orlando is growing on me, though I still don't like him.

I have read that Elizabeth makes out with both of the guys...Jack and Will. Ew. *shudders* I mean, really. Poor Johnny had to kiss her...blech. I hope Will dumps her! Yeah! I'm actually cheering for Will...what's wrong with me?

Really i hadn't heard that she makes out with both of them. that's just....well gross, especially because she is supossed to get married to will. yeah keira knightley is ok although since pirates her acting career has gone far. i have to agree 100% that johnny is definetely jack sparrow, hands down.

I don't mind Kiera Knightly at all. . .I think her acting skills have grown tremendously since "Star Wars," where all she had to do was look like Queen Amidala. . .<ahem> At any rate; besides being all-together too skinny, she seems quite personable and realistic in her expectations. Obviously, Johnny Depp is the key to these movies; without him they wouln't have even come close to as good as they are. Orlando. . .I just won't start on him; except that he is quite pretty.

I'm hoping that this movie will live up to its expectations. I'm a little worried, to be honest. I mean, the first movie was believable in that the villians were "human" so to speak. It was a plausible explanation for their monstronities. . .This one; well, I'm sorry if I think that creating characters with "sea creature" features is a tad. . .implausible and formulaic (which not the right word, but I'm sticking with it as I can't think of the other, more appropriate, word.) I understand the whole "suspend your belief" phenomenon that goes on with these movies; but that just is a little out there. I get the urge to laugh when I see that hammer-head guy in the trailers.

So, I'm looking foward to it; but I'm being skeptical.

I'm hoping the movie will be great. i'm sure everyone is. from the preveiws and reviews it's getting it looks great which is good because some sequels do worse than others but i have a feeling this will be a good sequel. hopefully. i am also hoping the third film will do well when that comes out. davy jones looks neat and the story line seems strong but i just hope it's good. the acting,action, adventure, and of course a little humor from jack sparrow is what i'm looking for. can't wait and i'm sure all you fans can't either!

Back to Pirates. . .I will vote "no" on the Jack and Will kiss. Ruins their friendship. Perhaps Jack's one dying wish is that Elizabeth kisses him; and so (before will rushes in to save Jack) she does it!! Okay, most likely not, but it's all I have.

The Krakken's a giant squid/octopus thingy in this version, right? Sigh. . .i still don't know about this particular plotline with the fish-type people.

yeah i guess kiera knightly is a bit stiff. she is still learning to act and all and hasn't been in the industry that long so hopefully she will loosen up and become a better actres. as for kieth richards i can't wait to see him in the next movie as jack's dad. i am sure he will be great since we know that johnny depp took his character and made it like kieth richards or something. i also saw a cast list for the final movie and it said that chow yun fat is supposed to be in it although i am not to sure which character he will play. they are saying that the last movie will be released next year around either march 15 or may 15 i am not to sure.

Johnny, Orlando and Keira are all great at acting esspecailly in the first Pirates of the Carribbean. I saw it yesterday! Oh my goodness it is really well done and I was really scared. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I cried at the end when something happened and was scared all the way through when some people were not...nice.
I watched the first one today with my family and kept going, I love that guy or that will happen to that and have annoyed them because I have seen it. Captain Jack is a great charactor with no rum!

I went to see it yesterday and I know what you mean about the ending Caitlin, it a really good cliffhanger. Although I think the movie was excellent, I don't think it was as good as the first. I don't know about anyone else but it has a definate wait for the next installment air about it. All the way through I felt that things were going to be left up in the air at the end.I think this movie is a absolute must see for Johnny Depp fans (me) Captain Jack Sparrow is an icon!!

And it was funny when my cousin leaned over and whisped to me "here comes the cliff hanger." You know it's coming when you see the boots, I think it's cool. Geoffry Rush is really awsome.

All and all I think Gore did a trully amasing job. Like when the East India Company guy said "every man has his price," or something like that, and the next shot was dice falling. Brillant, just amasing. And when they kept zooming in on Jack, Lizzie , and Norrington, that was very cool as well. The acting was better all around as well, Jonny really bested himself, and Kirea was very funny when she yelled at all the boys for fighting. And also little things, like how they played up Elizabeth's virginaty in a Shakespear-like way. And I thought that bit with Will asking all the people if they've seen Jack was very clever as well. My only problem was the spinning cage, and then 30 mintues later the spinning wheel. I thought "I just saw this a little while ago."
Techinally, a better movie, but the story of the first was much better. I think the first is the best so far, but I have a feeling the thrid will be better.

Just one thing , Karsh, there was no need to be so... a 'vocal' (although i know why, such a good movie) In future could you not have so many characters vocalising your excitement Ahhhh! would have been fine, Cheers,

I dunno... when he 'died' was mumbling.. No.. no.. no!! But we know he's coming back for the third one so, that's cool. He's the only thing in thhe films that make it great! Otherwise it'd just be an ok film. I was so shocked at the cliffhanger, and so 'eee!!' I love it when good and bad guys have to work together for a greater good. It makes me smile. I also loved the fighting sence on the island and Keira Knightly screaming at them and faking passing out. Lol.

Although this movie had a lot of great one-liners my favorite is still, "A wedding! I love weddings, drinks all around! I know, 'clap him in irons' right?" I always, always laugh. I was jealous of Kirea back in the first one, Orlando is a beautiful man, and he has really great lips . I love your icons Ygraine, espically the one with the compass, and the almost innconet bistandard, very cool. When he was shaking the compass, I thought of someone with a magic 8 ball, and it kept saying "ask again later," "ask again later."

I was supposed to see it today but something else happened that postphone it till next weekend. i guess it will be ok because of the crowds and all but i was really looking forward to seeing it this weekend. it's funny because it know alot of what happens in the movie and what happens at the end to. i won't say either because if people read this and they haven't seen the movie. did you know that it grossed already in just 2 days 132 million. that's a record and it has beat out spider-man. it's number one on the record charts. must be a great movie and ohhhhhh......sorry, but i can't wait......

Hmm... I thought the movie was pretty good and entertaining, but I just have one question for you guys. Were you just as confused as me? Was it just me, or was this movie a lot more confusing then the first? Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a good movie, but I was lost most of the time. I am not sure if it was just me, because I saw it at Shankweiler's Drive In and there was a lot of distractions... maybe that was the problem.

I didn't sit through the credits, it was to frickin' hot in the theater, the air was shut off for some reason. What did the 4th HP movie open at? I thought it was like 102 million or something, I'm just wondering, and was that the first Spider Man or the second?bluephoenix5, that's to bad, but I hope you enjoy it when you get to see it.
Horace Slughorn, I didn't think it was to confuding, it was probally being at the drive-in. I'm not a fan of drive-ins, people are so annoying, just because they're out doors they forget that they're wacthing a movie with other people who actually want to pay attention.

The film was brilliant as I expected and yes it is anoying to have to wait another year till we find out what's happening but think how good the next one will be when all is revealed.

Johnny Depp just steals the show though-no one can top his performance.It's amazing how he came up with such a unique and entertaining character.Keira and Orlando are a lot better this time round and I think it will be interesting to see how their relationship changes after what happened with Jack.

I think the film at the very least equals the first and,in my opinion,may be slightly better.

One of my favourite bits has to be when Jack offers the monkey as payment to Tia Dalma
"Look" *shoots* "an undead monkey" I thought that was really funny.

Okay, I just got back from watching it at the theater, and...it was brilliant!! Well..maybe not deserving that much praise..but I loved it! The acting was great, but there wasn't as much fighting as I would've liked. They still made Elizabeth into a girl at the end (when she was yelling at their swordfighting), and I didn't really like that. Loved the Jack/Elizabeth romance, but it was a bit confusing at points.

To me, the scariest parts of that movie were when Will had gotten on the island to find Jack, and then it showed that green man, which made me jump in my seat!
Another time was when it showed the monster's teeth, and they opened up, which wasn't as startling as the first one though.

I also loved the fact that the guy with one eye, and his friend always managed to survive, even in the swordfights, when it seems as though they know nothing.
Hm..now how the heck did Barbossa live? Though Jack (the monkey) was one of my favorites.

Well, I had no idea that the ending was going to end with Barbossa (though I had read before on this thread that The-Other-You-Know-Who parished...
Heh, but still, a really great film.

Ok, the film was great, but there was one silly little thing that kept sticking in my head for the whole rest of the night. In the last scene when she goes, "Would you sail ta da end of the ert and beyond?" Ugh... I dont know why! Wow, this post was almost entirely pointless! YES!

Don't feel bad, HS, I didn't get who it was till they showed him, and I don't get why he's not dead either, like I said people die in this series like the X-files, as in, no one really does. And it's ok to be pointless.
I'm actaully not big on the whole Jack/Elizabeth thing, I get why it happened but ::shurg:: I just think the reason she did that thing after she kissed Jack is because she was sick of running around, always being in danger, and kind of wanted to go back home. That's just what I think. But, anyway, to add, I forsee a pretty big fight between Will and Elizabeth, but of course it has to happy, so I'm not worried and am really looking forward to it.
Hermione_Resilda, the green guy, made me jump to, which I think lead up to one of the funniest part, Will trying to sword fight in midair, it's so funny , because he just trys way to hard, but that's his charm.

I'm sure it comes together as you sit on what you've seen for a while. . . I think the reason it may have seemed more confusing was because they left all of the plot-lines completely unresolved; whereas in the first film-the plot was taken care of and wrapped up. With this one, there's assuredly another film coming; so they were able to leave us hanging quite a bit more. And boy did they ever!

My offical response: Not as good as the first one; but good nonetheless. Lots of potential for the last film regarding character redemption/deprivation and such. I can't wait to see how Elizabeth deals with all of her guilt (guilt for being the cause of jack's "death" and the guilt of her feelings for him while she's supposed to be wildly in love with Will. . .) She had her moments, but her vascillation bugged me a bit.

And I am SO glad Barbosa is back!! Iknew it was him in the boots!! Let me just say that I have a special affinity towards a well-developed villain, and I cannot wait to see what they do with him!!

I thought this one was more graphic and violent than the first and faster-paced as well. It was pretty much go-go-go from the moment you sat down.

I did stay through the credits (but it's not abnormal, I usually do). Poor puppy!

I think Elizabeth has become my favorite character. She's so intersesting now. I think there's two sides of her, she wants to be the woman she thinks she's suppose to be and doesn't at the same time. She wants to be married to Will, safe at home with her father, and do all that women of her stature is suppose to do. But she also wants to be free. Becuase I don't think it's just Jack her heart desires, acroding to the compass, it's what he repersents, in word, freedom.

Very astute observation on Elizabeth's character, Ellen. She is more interesting in this movie than the first, that's true. Her inner turmoil should be interesting to see as she chooses where her destiny lies: or if she has to choose at all. Poor Will, though. . .You know; I just want to sit the Pirates and the characters of HP down and do a little communication exercise! Save them a lot of trouble if they knew how to communicate effectively with eachother!!

Will: "Why'd you kiss Jack. That made me quite angry. And i know how to use a sword."
Liz: "Oh, you know, using my feminine wiles to secure us a hope of a future, dear. Can't have me lusting after the pirate's life if we're to be married."
Will: "True enough, darling. Let's go to England to escape the rath of the East India Trading Company."

I think it was unfair to all of them when Barbrosa came down. I mean, they worked realy hard to kill him. But I think he is alive because in the first movie they shot him and then they droped the coin in. So he could have lived through it. Also his monkey couldn't die so why should he?

however, i daresay, i was furiously jealous of the stealthy pirate-y girl, Elizabeth, when she got to kiss Depp (CAPTAIN jack sparrow)...i would give anything to be face to face with Johnny Depp ...*sigh sigh*...anywho, since it was the second movie, it was wilder, funnier, nastier and pirate-ier than the first! i swear, the ending got me screaming! Wow!!! sounds like this movie is great! well at least i am getting good news out of this movie instead of bad. i am going to see it this weekend to perhaps beat the major crowd. the action, acting, and adventure must be pure pirates of the caribbean. this movie sure did make enough money so let's just hope they put enough money from pirates2 profits and also enough time in it as well. i am sure though that they will do the best that they can with the third one. ohhh...man...!!!!

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2 on opening night and it was crowded! My friends saved me a seat since they got there first and I almost fell on them on the way to my seat! I'm still wondering why Barbosa is still alive. I'm guessing that will be revealed in the third movie(which they already started to film).

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was pure brilliance! I had to wait until the morning after it had opened, but it was totally worth waking up really early for ^__^
