Ok- just tried on two different computers and refreshed this one and you're right- it is back to the third page

Maybe some of the other sites got wind of what's happening---- or else VTM people are clicking on.... *gasp* OTHER sites!!!!

Wow. This is a great cause, because I found VTM on google a long time ago, because all the other sites didn't apeal to me. I think more members would see how much better this site is then any other site if it was # 1.

Currently we are #7 on page two in the USA.

I clicked at least 10-15 times yesterday. I will do like 20 today.

I might come up with a new siggy or something, tell you guys if/when I do!

Matthew did say it would take a concerted effort from many people over a number of weeks to achieve our goal. So I guess it just means we need to click click click as often as possible.

I think the biggest help to our campaigne will be to open up this new forum section and make up loads of banners so that when we're posting around the site we are clearly seen. So people - start posting in the books forums especially!!

I'll put up some sigs everyone can use too soon in the poll topic.

I think deleting the cookies is prolly a good idea. It might trick google into thinking that different computers are checkingn out VTM.

Hi! Razz, the way you delete cookies on Firefox is go to tools then press "clear private data", then check off cookies as one of the things you want to delete, and then press the button that say, "clear private data". Hope that helps!

I haven't been at home, so haven't had time or chance to click! But I'll do it when I can...

*gasp* Oh, no! In Norway we're now on the fifth page, number 4! How can that be? We were on the second page when I left!

I just been on Google Uk and VTM was at the top of the fifth page..that's no way good enough, I was sure we were higher up the rankings when I first did a search for HP!

Just been back to Google Uk and serach Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. VTM is page 1 number 3!!

OMG!!!!!! In the US we are on the first page! it is the bottom though, but the first page! Yay!!

I'm betting our clicking paid off!

p.s The polling has stopped for the names! I think they decided on I.N.V.A.I.D for the "club" and F.A.W.K.E.S for the mission. At least that's my belief. I'm so glad this is going along smoothly!

Nah, in the UK, we are on the fourth page seventh down. Very sad. Oh well. We will have to keep clicking. And how do I get the google toolbar so I can click on that smiley face too?

The way you get the google toolbar is to go to google, press more, and then scroll down to extras. If this is different for the UK version, just search google toolbar and you'll probably find it

ps. I wouldn't really use it because it can trace everything you do, which I find an invasion of privacy. Plus, it gets really annoying after a while.

OMG. We have moved up two places on google, but we are still on the fourth page in the UK. Looks like all my clicking payed off.

Okay well on Google New Zealand VTM is 9th on the second page. That's quite good but not good enough! Haha. I'm trying to remember to do it whenever I'm on the computer. Must... do it... more!

It's still the third page for me ... but it has moved up a space and it's now at the top.

Does anyone know what is the most effective clicking strategy? As often as you can, obviously, but ... with the same search parameters, or different ones? Do multiple clicks in between cookie cleanup operations count as one, or are they counted individually? What exactly does G..gl register?

We'll begin discussing effective clicking strategies once we get the Operation: GO PEEVES thread going in the next few days, Annie. In the meantime, everyone make sure to click at least once daily on the Google search until we break out the big guns!

Just a quick update on how it is going on Australian Google-we have moved up one place and now are top of the third page. Almost on the second page!
Australian's keep clicking, we need you!

On Google in the Uk Vtm has moved up from 1st on the 4th page to 8th on the 3rd page and thats since yesterday evening...keep clicking guys!!!

We have moved up since I last posted here in Australia. We are now last/or 10th for an optimist, on the third page, so we are getting there!
I am glad about UK google because you are two up from Australia.

I thought I would let everyone know that Operation: GO PEEVES is up and running, which is the thread to discuss strategies and successes of our efforts to raise VTM on Google.

Wow- the Aussie forum members must have been really working hard on this- I went through google to get here this morning and VTM is up to 6th on the second page- it jumped three spaces from when I last checked yesterday morning

I just checked Norwegian Google now, and we've moved one spot! That's great, now we're 2.6, instead of 2.7.. and the best thing is, it's not so much to do, just clicking once or twice a day Way to go!

Well we still got alot of work to do on the UK google cause we have only moved up one spot this week and we are still on the third page, oh well, atleast we are moving up though.

Hello all! I joined this site just a few days ago, and I've got to tell you, it is extremely addictive. My computer hasn't had such a workout in quite a while, and my eyes are getting bleary from trying to catch up... I love VTM! I'd like to help. I've added the Google search link to my favorites, and I went there and clicked on VTM. Is that all I have to do to join I.N.V.A.I.D.? It just takes a moment to click, and I'll be doing it every day...

Laura, by all means, use your Germany Google! We want to get as many people from as many different places as possible so it's at good ranks worldwide. You may be one of the few people from Germany clicking for Germany. So Germany needs to be INVAIDed!!!!

Oh guys, I always go to google.de first now, and THEN click on the vtm link, but it's only getting worse! We were on page 19 at first, together with all the other international sites...and then suddenly, we were on page 20, and NOW, all alone, we're on page 26!! That's quite annoying!!

I will help too! I just clicked, and the American google is 6th on the 2nd page...its sad...but i will keep clicking!

In Germany it's changing all the time, and the last time I searched the VTM link I couldn't even find it..it just took too long, it seems to be far behind..I don't know how that can happen from one day to another, really So I guess now I'll really try and help out from the English google...because with mine it really doesn't make any sense, I tried..and it's always getting worse and worse, I have no idea why

I don't know what is happening on the UK google cause it is at the top or second to the top one minute and then it is like seventh. Very very confuzzling. Oh well, I will keep clicking, all I can do really.

Yeah, that's a problem in Norway, too! I think it's happening everywhere.. some times it's on the second page, other times on the seventh.. *sigh* But I think we'll just have to keep clicking

Whaat? 4.1? What's happened? We were 2.4! And now we're on the fourth page.. And now Solo's helping as well, we really should have gone closer to 1.1, not further away from it.. so annoying!

I've been posting weekly reports of changes to five Google sites (.nl, .com, .de, .fr and .uk) in the G.O. P.E.E.V.E.S. thread, in the hope of amassing enough statistics to be able to see how clicking affects these sites.

So far, I've not been able to deduce anything. This is my last report, the previous reports can be found in the same thread. If anyone feels inclined to do the same for other sites, it might help to make us understand a bit better why the up-and-down seems to be so random...

well SOMETHING is happening. Because on my browser, we're currently number two on page two. Thats quite the big step from what we started at originaly, a few weeks ago.

And I'm slightly confused with some things people are saying in this thread. Just a reminder guys, if we're on second page then go to third page, then its a bad thing. If we're on second page and go to first, then... party!

Im glad we are all taking an active effort in trying to make VTM a better place and giving it the LONG overdue recognition it deserves but please dont post short posts telling us that the site went up two spots on google..if there is a significant change then GREAT! let us know (within limits of course ) but please dont post one liners it takes up bandwidth and it gets the mods upset when we see many one liners in a row!

Please continue supporting VTM and clicking away but if you have some great news to tell us make sure you elaborate a bit on it..tell us what worked and how you got us to move up!

Hey guys, I have a great idea. Since you can only have a 5 live sig, just go to google, search for Harry potter, then right click on VTM. Then click "Copy Link". Put that link as many times in you signature as u can without breaking rules. I did!(Its a little over 5 lines...)

when i looked up harry potter on google (the uk version) veritaserum came up on the third page - the seventh one down, keep trying folks we can do much better than this!
