I did a search and nothing came up or was found. (Mod's if you want or need to close this because this has already been discused then feel free) anyway...

We know that when Harry or Ron look into the Mirror of Erised they of course see their hearts desire. But if Hermione were to look into the Mirror what do you think she would see? Is she the happiest person and see only herself or something else that she truly desires in her heart. please if you feel or want to discuss what other characters such as Sirius might see in the Mirror then feel free but this thread is mostly about hermione and the mirror. anyway please enjoy and discuss away!!
dr_pepper75p
i think hermione would see herself in a successful position in the ministry or something, the first femail minister of magic possibly lol, she seems the type.

sirrius would probably see himself a free man, living hapily with harry.
Knowitall88
I personaly think she would see herself and ron happily married i have always been a supporter of this idea
bluephoenix5
For some reason i've had a feeling that hermione may work at the minstry or perhpas at hogwarts. she is after all the brightest witch of her age and she would make a perfect teacher. or perhaps she might see herself with harry or ron depending on how she feels. for sirius though i thought he would see lily and james because they were loved ones and friends and he truly cared about. i think he might see harry as well because he is harry's godfather and harry is the only family he has left.

Dumbldore or snape might be interesting to figure out...

The freedom of all House Elves would be one of her fondest desires.
dumblemydoor
The freedom of house elves? Her and Ron? Top grades? I don't think its so simple, I honestley think that its something we don't know about. I believe her deepest desire is a secret to her and only her. I don't think we will find out what her deepest desire is in the last books because frankly...they are irrelovent dry.gif
Horace Slughorn
dumblemydoor, Hermiones boggart showed that her deepest fear was Professor McGonagall telling her she had failed all of her classes. Why wouldn't her deepest desire be the exact opposite?

I believe, of course, that Hermione would look into the mirror and see that she got all "Outstandings" on her N.e.w.t.s! This is the exact opposite of her failing, which is her deepest fear.

Well, if Hermione is anything like the girl I think she is, she would see herself as a succesful woman (perhaps a professor at Hogwarts or an Auror) with a handsome husband (not nessecarily Ron) and maybe living in some semi-fancy home.
I don't think that she would dream of becoming rich and famous.
She would just want to have family and friends and a good way to put her mind to work.

I don't think she would see a handsome husband, she is an intelligent girl and knows that it doesn't matter how good looking he might be...I agree that she would see herself as successful

I have to agree. I was scrolling through and noticed that noone until you thought also that she might become an Auror. I've always thought that it was a good idea for her to become one because she is so good at everything. And on the side she could help the house elves. It would also help that she was in the ministry because she would have some senority and could ask for rights for them.

If Hermione were to look into the Mirror...I kind of always wondered that. Well, since Hermione is the "smartest witch of her age" she would probably see herself somewhere in the Ministry, maybe the first Mistress of Magic. I dont know..What with her avid workings in S.P.E.W. she could get a lot more done with that if she worked there. If she looked in the Mirror maybe thats what she would see.

Or being a teacher at Hogwarts, happily married to Ron. Hermione never seemed like the type of girl who wanted material things, and thats what I always liked about her. So when she looks into the Mirror whatever she would have seen would have been something simple, but big at the same time.

Its a shame the Mirror was destroyed.... unsure.gif
HPFan792
It think she would see the house elves free and her SPEW going places and people actually joining it .And probably a good job, being sucessful in some career.
Harry_Ginny777
well the mirror was broken so there is know more mirror but if she did look in it when it wasn't broken then i guess she would see her as a Professor at Hogwarts and Happily Married to Ron Weasley and happy she is apart of the great Weasley Family. i know i would be happy to be married to Ginny and Apart of that family

Nina: I just wanted to know what Hermione would see if she looked into the Mirror of Erised?

J.K. Rowling: Well -- (crowd laughs and applauds) -- at the moment, as you know, Harry, Ron, and Hermione have just finished their penultimate year at Hogwarts and Hermione and Ron have told Harry that they're going to go with him wherever he goes next. So at the moment I think that Hermione would see most likely the three of them alive and unscathed and Voldemort finished.

But I think that Hermione would also see herself closely entwined with...another...person (crowd roars and applauds loudly). I think you can probably guess. Thank you, very good question. I've never been asked that before.

So now you know! biggrin.gif Nothing so insideous or complicated. As most of our hearts desires, it was something base. She wanted to be safe (and in the arms of Ron. wub.gif).

Oh, and the Mirror of Erised wasn't broken. The mirror that Sirius gave harry was. It was a little hand mirror. The mirror of erised was a full-length mirror on a stand.

I think Hermione would see any/all of the following:
1. Herself as Head Girl
2. Graduating from Hogwarts with the highest marks ever achieved by any student
3. Head of the Ministry of Magic
4. Even if she didn't see ANY of the above she would DEFINITELY see herself married to Ron!
MIKOH
i think she might see thousands of people walking with spew badges on their robes or she can see herself kissing ron.
HermioneClone
I think she would see herself in a position of success. That could mean at the top of the ministry, the headmaster of Hogwarts, top grades, maybe achieving freedom or paying, sic leave, etc., for the house elves.
crookshankskitty
I think she'd see herself as Head Girl with all outstandings on her N.E.W.T.'s. Or maybe becoming Minister of Magic. Or maybe being Headmistress of Hogwarts.
laudine
What Jo Rowling said about Hermione and the mirror made me think. I think you don't always see the same throughout all your life. Like now Hermione would propably see what Jo said, everyone safe and kissing Ron. But maybe at the age of 11 or 12 it was being a successful witch. You don't always yearn for the same things in your life. And I also think that this counts for Ron and Harry too. In ten years time it wouldn't be so important fro Ron anymore to be alone in that mirror.
Desires change. So giving an answer to this question is difficult.
Phoenix92
Hermione would see herself getting Outstanding in all her N.E.W.T.S. smartass.gif If she doesn't see this then it would be marrying Ron!! wub.gif
After the Burial
Well said Phoenix. Well said indeed. When she was young, I have no doubts she would see herself with perfect exam scores and the adulation by teachers that would naturally follow. As she has grown older, she would see herself with Ron. This wish would be stronger because she has never had an 'official' relationship with Ron. After so many years, she should be rather impatient for him to make a move.

As you grow up, your dreams change. When I was eleven, I wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer, now I'm sixteen and I just want to be healthy again.

I think Hermione would see everybody united after Voldemort's downfall, her and Ron, Harry and Ginny, Remus and Tonks all together, happy and healthy.

Hermione is a very loyal character, even though occasionally Harry and Ron treat her badly, she sticks by them, they must be very close to her heart. So logically, she would only wish for everyone's safety and once that desire is met. Then she would be the next Headmistress of Hogwarts (or Arithmancy Professor)
Desperatly Waiting 4 Book 7
i think she'd see herself at desk, re-writing all those little spell books ( and potion books, and history of magic books and...)she'd be using lots of big words and giving many people headaches that way.
Nawal
I think that she would probably see her S.P.E.W plan being successful or she would see herself as the headmistress of hogwarts. And I agree with laudine, and now at this age she would see herself with ron wub.gif ,and everyone safe and sound at hogwarts.
HPfan#1
I think she would see her O.W.L.S. and N.E.W.T.S results and she would have got top marks, then she would see herself married to Ron and holding the Brain of the Year award!! laugh.gif
Moon(I luv you Luna)
I've always wondered ... the always find out things about Rona nd Harry-but never Hermione. We know Ron's desires and fears-but not Hermione.

I imagine her standing there getting top awards in everything, becoming mister for magic and married to Ron.

But then, maybe she'd see Voldemort dead and all her friends happy?

Or maybe her parents understanding the wizarding world?

I just don't know with Hermione. happy.gif

I agree. I think she isn't everything she appears to be. it would be hard to predict what she would see in the Mirror of Erised but I imagine it's something very deep and something Hermione herself only knows (or maybe not even her). Of course that is what the Mirror of Erised does so if I had to I would say something to do with school but also being a girl like maybe a boyfriend or something similar.

Well, you are right about the boyfriend part. It's actually nothing sinister or personal at all.

I think sometimes we think that our greatest desire (mirror) or our greatest fear (boggart) are something grand or dangerous. But so often it is something commonplace. We want safety and harmony. whatever thing in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs that we lack. our greatest fear: losing whatever is closest to us. It's as simple as that.

i think she would see herself geting top marks in all exams
or
her and ron happily married
or
as some others have said in a highly important position in the wizarding world
PotterPlotter
I think she would see herself as a very successful person with S.P.E.W. doing well. Or She would have gotten all m Outstandings on her N.E.W.T.S. in the mirror.
annesches
hmmm. . . i think she would see herself with ron and having both of her family and ron's, and harry with ginny waving happily. this i think is after the deathly hallows though. hermione treasured family and friendship above all, even grades.
lemonadenoi
I bet she will see herself as the best witch in centuries...
She loves to be with Ron, but I don't think its her deepest desire. Considering Hermione as want-to-be-the-best sort of girl, seeing herself as a successful witch is possible.

I am not (regretably) Hermione, and I'm not sure if even she could tell us what she desires most, but at the very begining of book one I am pretty sure it would have been exceling at school, making friends, ect. But later on, say after book four, I think it would have been her, Ron and Harry, along with all their friends and family, old and happy.

After Voldemorts return, I think school was realy important to her because she realised that school and knowledge could help protect her friends and herself. Their life became a struggle for survival, and what she wanted most was for them to survive.
lissakitty
It would probably be that she would have the top grades in Hogwarts and has the title of being the smartest witch of the century. She loves her studying...
FawkesWings
haha

I see her graduating from Hogwarts with Exceeded Expectations
her marrying some guy from Slytherin or something..
freeing all of the house elves somehow
and being happily married and have curly haired little kids running around her making her insane
