Ok, this worked pretty well in the Order of the Pheonix forum, so why not here. Obviously, since the script isn't even finished, there are no trailers yet for it.



However, why not throw out some theories anyway? What would you put in a trailer for Half Blood Prince? How about a teaser?



For those of you who don't know the difference, a trailer is a full introduction to the film. It's usually a minute or two long and tells basically what the movie is about. A teaser is shorter, and just "teases" you, thus the name. An example of a teaser that is out in theaters right now (in america at least) is the Transformers teaser. It really tells you very little about the film, but just gets you excited (GIANT ROBOTS! AWESOME!).



So tell me what you think!

ok so i have at least an idea for a teaser.
You start to hear the orginal music from harry potter playing.
then you see an owl flash across the screen then you hear:
N--The destiny of a young boy:
pictures of harry all stages of the movie with voices being heard saying his name like DD or mcgonagall snape voldemort
followed by the clip
Hagrid saying "Your a wizard harry"
HP--"Im not a wizard I'm just harry"
N--a hidden world in danger
scenes from all the movies showing the wizarding world diagon ally hogwarts, world quidditch cup, burrow, knight bus lots of secondary characters
N--the struggles of good vs evil
followed by clips from all the movies just harry the big high engery fight scenes (basilik, stone, the connecting wands from GoF)
N--Three young wizards bound by friendship
followed by brief clips of the trio all the movies
N--Friendships made...
clips of the beuxbatons and durmstrang students along with Order members we've met
Possibly some of the ships to form in HBP and the couples from GoF, and maybe if its in there snape, bellatrix, and narcissa together, scenes of the DA meeting
N--Friendships lost...
clips from Order of the phoinex sirius's death and possibly arguements between fudge and Dumbledore (assuming that they will be in OotP)
N--History has been made
clips playing from OotP and GoF (cedrics death, the duel between DD and Volde from OotP)
N--History will be found
clips from HBP showing harry and DD in the pensivel
N--Prophecy comes alive
clips of Trewlany in her trance conversations of DD and Harry from the end of OotP(again assuming it will be in the movie)
N--Traitors will rise and Hero's will fall
DD's voice"Dark and difficult times ly ahead soon we will choose between what is right and what is easy (or whatever the quote is)" over the following clips:music is really building:
Clips of the bad guys, wormtail lucius draco maybe a short cut to snape dumbledore lupin Harry umbridge mcgonall hermione serius, ron fudge belletrix moody tonkswill all need to be shown lots of the characters high energy clips.clips with with ther faces very expressive like one of them is going to do something bad or something bad is happening
then them music will go completely quiet
N--An adventure will begin
maybe brief clips from HBP showing the ocean and the duel at the end with the music building.

then the screen goes black and the orginal hedwig music plays
then the traditional
Harry potter and the Half Blood Prince shows on the screen
With Harry saying "are you scared sir?" and dumbledore replies "no harry I'm with YOU"
no pictures just their voices
Then the words come across the screen,
The story has only just begun......

N stands for that voice of the narrartor that has been on all the movies at least the first 2
HP stands for harrys voice itself

Oh wow Bethany That was really cool. I adore the ending with the Dumbledore/Harry moment - that was just so gut wrenching in the book, especially after DD took a tumble off the tower. Great effort. I'd love to make one of these up but my mind has been clogged with some ferocious virus and its temporarily turned it into a wet sponge. I'll come back when I'm feeling better.

thanks razzberry i spent alot of time on it and i even reedited it once. I wish i had the video editing software on my computer to play with an actual clip but i've just master avatars and love doing them i've yet to master moving ones but i have mastered still shots. but thanks it was fun!!
PS is easy enough to understand? and does it flow ok. I'm a visual person i type the pictures that i see in my head.

Amazing Bethany, you are truly a trailer master. I think thats what will happen. Or it will show clips of Harry fighting and Tom Riddles as a young boy. Also showing DD in pain when Harry has to make him drink that liquid in the basin.

Those trailors really are kind of amazing. I am kind of wondering how the actual trailors will top them. and they were only made by fans. I really cannot wait for HBP to come out. I'm practically dying.

Spencer and Harry_Ginny, it is not appropriate to carry on this conversation on the thread. That is what PM's are for. Harry_Ginny, the same goes for pointing out any 'helpful' tips about the rules - use the PM system. It is up to mods and prefects only to post any problems.

On topic. There are so many that I've only watched a few, but they were pretty good. The HBP trailer (short) was fantastic I hope the film can live up to the fan made trailers.

well i will put up more Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Trailers up and i will put the rest of the fan made videos in the other topic called "Van Mad Videos" in i think it is VTM Van Made Videos, and i hope everyone will still watch them there as well because i will tell you for sure that there will be more.

My mind is usually in high-gear, but at the moment it is not..(lack of sleep I surmise).

But if the HBP is set up like past trailers, I can picture something sorta like this:

You see Dumbledores' wand, pulling something from his memories into the pensieve, and as he stirs it, it forms the WB logo. It swirls around, and disappears. We then get to hear some fantastically eerie music as we are all whisked way into the pensieve.

Then silence and for a brief moment...darkness. In a suddenly startled motion, we see Harry and Dumbledore appear out of nowhere, then we hear some dialog from him. then we hear the music change pace and see images pass by the screen:a locket, Dumbledore hiding his injured hand, a scene from the Quidditch field, Harry running after Malfoy, flashes of wands everywhere, then finally, and on a happier note, Harry and Ginny moving in close...but we NEVER really see them kiss..hehe.

Then the words "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" show up on the screen.

The screen goes completely black..and a rather uneasy long silence...then, we hear Harry say: "Are you scared Sir?"


A quick flash of a death white hand reaches out at the audience, then Dumbledore says:

"No Harry, I'm with you!"

Then flashes the date on the screen.


(shrugs)..at least that is what my mind sees..lol

that is realy good but i think that would b for the last film ever and then have vd and hp on the screan and do a sort of big brother who goes coe and find out that would b cool like

good points but the reason i built it up this way because its the 6th movie. not that it wont have less followers its just i wanted to paint this awesome picture so when not so devoted potterfreaks see it they would say wow that looks intense. does that make sense? im working on a trailer right now. its not very good because i dont have video software but ive pieced together stills and now im working on the audio kinda to give you a visual to what i wrote. wont be very good but nice images. check out my poster in the poster section thanks for the feed back

Action Teaser Trailer á la Moi...

A scary low-key sound accompanies the WB Logo, we do not know it is a Potter Trailer. Short flashes from the first five Potters appear on screen: Prof. Quirrel's burned face, The Basilisk, Padfoot in the bushes, Cedric's corpse, (if in the movie) Grawp uprooting a tree, the Dementor's hand on the train, Voldemort Close-up from IV. This shouldn't take longer than 10-12 seconds.

With the bells from "Hedwig's Theme" that slowly fade in over the low-key (but not to loud!) we
close in on Harry's face who wakes up with a jolt on the window.

Fade to black to new scene: Dumbledore and Harry with wands at the ready. Off-screen we hear Dumbledore

Dumbledore: "I give you permission to use any counter-jinx or curse..."

the last word echoes a bit... New action scenes combined with old ones, also in short 2 to 3 second flashes: Voldemort vs Harry on the cemetary, the fight in the MoM, Dumbledore slashes his hand, the inferi and fire... slowly blending to Hogwarts seen from Hogsmeade with the Dark Mark... We see Rosmerta, Harry and Dumbledore; off-screen we hear Dumbledore again, this time weak

Dumbledore: "I am not worried, Harry. I am with you."

In the tower room they land, then again some quick flashes: Door bursts open, a hand with a wand (Draco's), Dumbledore expelliarmused, and then Snape's face, full of hatred. For the last time we hear Dumbledore, weak...

Dumbledore: "Severus... please..."

Fade to black, then Snape's voice off-screen

Snape: "Avada Kedavra!"

A green flash which reveals the title "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and fade to black. We think for a moment it's over, but we have a quick flash-in with Harry making the slashing motions to the Sectumsempra-Curse, accompanied by some whooshing noises and another flash to reveal the date... Fade to black.

love the end bit of bethany's trailer script, but i would say to include a bit of the massive duel at the ministry, though only a bit to keep the audience on their seats.

Lexpro, i loved the first bit, when you zoom up Harry's face, sleeping i the window-that would be very cool and i LOVED your one Bethany.

What ever the trailor is, it just has to have the origonal heddwigs theme in it-the one from the first movie. I don't care what else is in it, apart from that!

er..why did you write it twice in the same post? anyway, I loved the trailer (er, you know what I mean) The part in between was really good where the 16 yr old Tom's asking slughorn and the transitions from there, they were great!

Hmm I've just got up so this is completely off the top of my head:

Eerie music accompanies a misty reveeling of the WB logo. The camera moves over the lake and into Hogwarts. It enters the dungeons and we see Harry clutching a book...

Harry: This book is the property of the Half Blood Prince...

Then a voice says: Last year we bought you the Order.

A flash and the music turns to a more upbeat scary tune. We see a brief flash of the order.

The voice: This November...

Tom Riddle: Sir, what are the Horcruxes?

We see Slughorn turn, looking angry. Another flash and Lavender bursts into view.

Lavender: Why are you with HER?!

Then we see Romilda, Harry surrounded by inferi, the dark mark above Hogwarts, Draco covered in blood and Harry and Ginny getting closer.

We see Hermione looking scary and then a flash of a wand and we see Ron being attacked by birds. A burst of green light and then...

Snape looms into view and....

The voice: They're back.

Screen darkens and then we here a voice..

Harry: Are you scared, sir?

Dumbledore: I am not worried...I am with you.

The date of the movie comes onto the screen in green and then fades.

End.

It sounds quite long but it all goes very fast. Hope you liked it! It was really quick so don't be too harsh!

it's good I like it. I can imagine it in my head, and when harry says, are you scared? maybe the music stops, then after dumbledore says something, there's like the drum beat then that huge thunder effect at the end. I don't know how you describe it. OH this just popped into my mind, after every trailer, after all the speaking parts, the screen wanders off the the sky and then the music comes, the Harry Potter theme and the title shows up so maybe it says Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, then suddenly the screen turns black with the date on it with the drums at the end.

Just some suggestions

MissmuggleBethany, That would be amazing i could like pretty much see it in my mind WOW like the whole thing but i think there might be too much of the old movies in there and i m really glad that you wouldent see DD dieing like it makes you want to see more. WOW again nicely done

romilda_girl yours sounded really good. I can imagine it inside my head. I loved the "they're back" thing, with flashes of everyone. Sounds awesome. They should take your idea!

Okay so i've just been reading through this and a few ideas were popping into my head so i decided "hey give it a try" and here it is

*Heart Beats* *First beat - WB sign* *2nd beat - each beat will then show up a green light, this will last about 4 beats, each time getting closer to the light* *beats suddenly stop to reveal an Inferi jumping out of the water*

*Fast pace music shows a couple of very short clips of the trio, Harry looking scared, Harry & Ginny, Lavender and Ron, Hermione with McLaggen at Slughorns party, Death eaters & Dark Mark*

*Music goes into HP theme tune*

DD: It is time...

Narration: This November...

Harry: You said at the end of last term that you were going to tell me everything

It says are you scared a bit too many times for my liking, i see what your trying to do but if that was a trailer i would have them more spaced out and not that close together

i think it should have as little as possible in it instead of the pervious which have practically the whole film in it!

i think it should start with a dark figure walking along privat drive towards the dursleys in silence... and slowly the music comes on, we have a flash on DD coming into the house... the view fomr the prime ministers office of the misty outdoors! then we hear fugde explaing some of the things that have happened: 'it is he who most not be named, he is back!' then a clip of the trio ron asking harry if he is scared... the joke shop and harry and DD in the office going into the pensive! a clip of lavender and ron.. hermione getting jealous!

then is goes black the worlds Harry potter and the half blood prince come up with with fugde sayin 'the only problem is the other side have magic too, prime minister!'

it's rubbish... i just like the tagline.. i can imagine it, i'm just not good at explaining my mind!

Mod Edit: Hello! Posts on VTM are supposed to be at a minimum of 3 lines. Unfortunately, quotes do not count and they just take up space. You should be receiving a PM soon.

I think it will have the Harry/Ginny kiss, somewhat like the Harry/Cho kiss in the OotP trailer. They should have a brief scene in the cave, Slughorn's party, and a scene showing the Felix Felicis. Then maybe the Ron/Lavender kiss (their first), and Snape yelling Avada Kadavra with the scene stopping JUST before the curse hits Dumbledore.

Considering they will most definitely do what they did before and have a countless number of trailers, i think it would be difficult to assume that the first one will include everything from the Snape curse to the kisses.
I don't know about anyone else, but i believe that in the trailers they wont emphasise the kiss between harry and ginny as much as they did with him and cho. First off they've got to explain to the audience that they actually become an item, otherwise it will be a bit overwhelming to see the kiss before you see the infatuation. Do you know what i mean?

I have a preminition that the first load of trailers will include like the bit about slughorn being introduced as Potions master and snape as Defense against the dark arts. I don't think they will have the scene where harry encourages slughorn to become teacher as it isn't atall important; they only have to introduce him like all the others, in the great hall. I have this funny image that in one part of the trailer they will have harry staring at something, and enchanting music will crop up in the background as we get a close up of ginny, and then someone will say 'Harry!' and his mind will jump and come back to life. That would look really funny in a trailer and i could just imagine the audience laughing at that bit. And also, perhaps - after harry returns from his day dream - ginny could look all flustered or something; maybe it could be her who says 'harry!'. Also i foresee that they could include lots of little snippets of Ron vs Hermione and funny little quotes. Perhaps they will have something like ron looking towards lavender and him saying something to make hermione jealous like fainting that he may fancy/go out with Lavender Brown, and hermione looks shocked at this.

Oooh, i hope they include Quidditch this time. They might not but they should have plenty of room for it in this movie.

I can definitely see one of the main trailers having a close up shot of the Half Blood Prince's book with harry looking curiously at it.

It depend on what the main theme are. For me this book is about:

-the potion book(Snape aka. half-Blood Prince)
-Malfoy
-Voldy history
-Relationship


So we would probably see the trailer somekind of timeline themed then having Dumbledore say something about the lesson and then probably having some of the relationship(especially Ron and Hermione) and maybe the sound of crying from the bathroom and so on.

I think the first few trailers won't have to many details. I could see them including a scene of Dumbledore and Harry going into the pensieve, and some scenes of the slug club. They might give a hint to the relationships. Also, I don't think that they would show Snape AK Dumbledore, because that was on of the surprises of the book, and they wouldn't want to give that away.
