okay u guys know that harry potter books are almost over there's two more left and 4 more movies left but what is going to happen to us when the books are finish and also the movies i'll still be a fan of course but then whats the whole point of seeing whats happening in the hp world if our questions will be already sloved? but i will pass the hp tradition which i'll start with my childeren when i grow up and get married and have some but thats the best i can do passing it on to other gernations and thats about it and also tell them about how i was a fans and that other stuff but life will be so different will be older and wiser and will probably have jobs that will give us no free time (okay this part goes to younger fans that are like 18 or younger) some will probably get tired of hp (which will probably never happen) but lets face it fanfics will have no use to some because the books will be finish and also the what is going to happen to the trio and the others.there will be fics about there life after hogwarts but thats about it will write what we wish did happen and what did happen and that other stuff but i have a guess of what iam going to do but it will probably change in time but in this topic u guys can talk about life after harry potter because i sure want to know how other people's life will be cause iam just a curious child lol

IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! *screams and hides* there will be no after HP!!! NOOO!!!
*ahem*
I dunno...I guess I can't really say it's my life or anything, just something I enjoy greatly, and I'll always enjoy reading the books over and over and *to a lesser extent, though* watching the movies...I don't suppose I'll really that mch be talking about it...but wow, by the time the last movie's done and dusted, my little baby will be in school...so it's a flippin' long way away anyway...
*sits firmly in denial* NEVER HAPPEN THOUGH!!!

no never!! *quivers in her seat*
I'm honestly not sure what I'll do... all the things I seem to really enjoy lately have stemmed from HP, so it'll suck once all that's gone....
though I suppose I'll feel somewhat happy if some of my theories turn out to be right... I definetely have a love/hate relationship with the end of the series. *hides*

AAAAH! THE END IS NEAR!
I'll be crying and crying lmao, and I dunno...It'll be very...wierd. I mean, knowing the end, knowing nearly all the secrets, and all that. It'll be quite frustrating too, though, wouldn't it?
I mean, I really want to read book 6 now, but...once I've finished it, I'll be like, "Oh no! Only one more book left!".
Ah well...I'm trying not to think about it, though it'd been nagging me since I finished the 5th book.

Aw, no! What a sad topic!

I don't even want to think about it!!!
You know, I visited an old X-Files forum that I used to post to the other day....they haven't had a new post since April and that was only from someone who was selling their collection....The place was like a ghost town, and I remember a time when they were receiving practically hundreds of posts a day on such topics as 'Will Mulder ever get it on with Scully' and 'Is Krycek hot' (of course he is!!) and 'Does the Cigarette-Smoking-Man really smoke?'...LOL.....
It's so sad to see something that was once so incredibly popular just lying there...broken, dusty and forgotten on the cyberspace-scrapheap.......
Then I got to thinking thay maybe one day this place will be like that too....**sniff**.....
It's up to us to ensure that Harry never suffers the same fate!!! Keep the home fires burning, guys!! Dont let HP go the way of the X-Files!!!! Long Live King Harry!!!! (And Lupin, of course....

Yeah but you have to admit that the X-Files was trickling away and sadly at that. HP is probably going to go out with a bang, and there'll be endless spinoffs because there's so much left unsaid. X-Files did practically everything

I honestly don't know how I would feel once HP is finished...probably seriously sad and disappointed that my favorite series is finished. It probably won't be as big of a hit as it is right now like 10 years from now, but hey, it's a really awesome series. It's not like absolutely no one is going to read it anymore. I'll pass it on to my cousin who's old enough to read the books in about 5 years, and I'll definatly pass it on to my kids.
But who knows? They might come up with a Harry Potter cartoon television series...

Oh, yeah, I agree....I think they were really struggling the last two seasons, although I think it's a shame they never really gave Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish more of a chance, because I really thought the dynamics between them were potentially excellent. I think what happened to the X-Files was more a result of a wider ranging move by society as a whole away from an interest in conspiracy, UFO's, crop circles etc because everything was beginning to find an explanation and the paranormal lost much of its mystery. Plus, of course, the majority of the audience just watched it for the unrequited tension between Mulder and Scully and as soon as they resolved that, the figures just plummeted...
But anyway....that's totally off topic.....sorry....
Books tend to live for far longer anyway....we're still reading 'Chronicles of Narnia', 'Black Beauty', 'The Railway Children', 'The Secret Garden' and so on...and they've all been around for years. I'm sure Harry will still be around for a very long time to come...and there's always fanfics!!!

Sad little topic line
HARRY POTTER WILL NEVER END, IT WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!!
okay, I guess I got a little too excited there
It never quite hit me until i read the 5th book, I had just finished crying because of (SPOILER) Sirius, when one of my friends said that she was amazed there was only 2 books left and that got me started all over again.
I was wondering about what was going to happen to the HP fansites and forums and things, I mean will i sign on one day and start to visit a ghost town or something?!
Creepy things I tell ya, very creepy, going to give me nightmares tonight

This is an EXTREMELY old topic, but it's been bothering me for a while...
What WILL we all do when HP comes to the sad end. We've got two more books (well really more like one, since one is coming so soon) and what it's going to be like? Will we still come on here when it's all over? Or is everyone going to abandon it? How is everyone going to cope with the ending of the books we pratically grew up with! I can't believe I'd just turned eight when I started reading Hp, and to think how old I'll be when it ends....

It's so sad....

well lets see of course it'll end, as all good things must at some point.
well i seem to have a history with um.., (im trying not to say obsessions, but..) things i find interesting (yes thatll work).
95-98;backstreet boys (and if they release another cd ill buy it
)
98-00;sailor moon (dont ask)
01-04;LotR
after LotR ended it was bitter sweat, cause that binge took up like what 4 years of my life. there went my highschool years (well almost all of them) and this whole harry potter thing seems like it might hold my attention just a little bit longer then that. because im accually read these books, well the 5th one on anyway. and when it ends ill move on like i do with everything eles.
and harry potter though i have to admit i really didnt pay much attention to it till this year, but still. i move from one thing to another. but before hp ends ill have my own lil one im sure, and force harry potter on him/her like my parents made me watch Star Wars. and hey i liked that when i relized that it was good.
there is a good chance thisll be my last 'obsession' casue i am getting a little to old for this im 21 now, and god knows how old ill be when this ends. accually i dont wanna think about that at the moment.
so thats my rambelings on the matter. i talk to much

here's what i'm going to do after HP!
i'm going to read and read the book series again!
and i'm going to watch and watch the movies!
and of course, i'll be proud of being an HP fan!
really very sad topic!
i just hope that JKR would continue the series!
i just hope that another set of series will be made
probably harry being an auror!
i just hope HP won't end!
but one great truth we know is........
we are proud being ultimate harry potter fans!
love yah guys!
take care!

i am in serious denial that it will ever end. i just kept telling myself that it's just going to keep going, and it will be ok... it's the only thing keeping me from histerics every time i think about it.

though deep down inside, i know it will. i'm definently going to get my kids hooked on HP too. and i'm going to make them wait as long as we did to get each new book. ok, maybe not
that long.

Life After Harry Potter.... *sigh* thats a little hard to believe. Life after Harry Potter will be incomplete. Thats for sure. There won't be anything more to look forward to. Nothing more to predict or wonder about no more excuses to daydream. But Harry Potter will never really be gone will it? We'll read it again and talk about it. Still, its not something I or any of you, I'm sure, will look forward to.

End...of...Harry....Potter???? No! It simply can not happen.
Well, in all reality I think I agree with some others here about passing it along to my kids. I will put them on the book shelf and look at them fondly for a long time When my daughter is older, I will pull them down and read them to her and experience them for the first time, agian, with her. She will be excited about the story and wonder and question. At that point I will be the one who knows the answers and I will laugh as I listen to her throw theory after theory at me. It will be great fun to have with her. I will be able to share my love of these wonderful stories with her and visit my favorite characters once more.

Wow I totally forgot I started this topic. I made this a long time ago hmmm well Harry Potter is going to end and we have to keep living our lifes with out Hp but it still going to be there it is not going anywhere at all it might be in your book case or dvd holders or in attic with posters and stuff and even in your computer! so it's not going anywhere just your not going to be into 24/7! and I know some of us are

I was thinking about this topic yesterday, and I got all sad and depressed. Every time I think about it, I just want to cry.

But I'm not in denial...so after all the books are out, I'll probably cry
a lot and look forward to the movies. And after the movies are all out, I'll probably still cry, even though I'll be in my twenties. It's very depressing to think about. But of course I'll still read my books and watch my movies over and over and over again. And if I have kids, I'll pass my love for Harry Potter on to them. I'll never stop being a Harry Potter fan. Hopefully there will still be plenty of fan sites and forums out there, so 40-year-old HP fans can talk about the good old days.

Haha,

too true...
I really am going to hate seeing all the fun end, I guess you could mark us fortuate to be here and lovin' Hp while they're still coming out. Some people are really going to regret not jumping on sooner...
But we'll always have the books, and that's the only comforting thought at the moment.

Let's look at it this way. People are STILL discussing Lord of the Rings. I am a member of a site that chats about hobbits and such. And those books are old.
But Harry Potter isn't a deep as Lord of the Rings...
So I don't think the discussion will last, sorry to say. I think after the 7th book things will die down. Maybe if they make more movies it will open new discussion.
But I don't think it will last, sadly.

After withdrawal symptoms have gone, I'll probably move on to the next big thing. There was Lord of the Rings, then Harry Potter... I think the next popular thing will be the Chronicles of Narnia (the books rocked, and the movie is coming up and it looks promising).

Harry Potter die?! I don't think so...not while there's still billions of us fans out there. I mean Wizard of Oz hasn't died completely out yet, my Dad still sings the lollipop kid song, much to my displeasure... Potter also appeals to a wider range of audience. My little bro can read Hp, but if I handed him something with Tolkien stamped across the top, he'd give up after the first page, it's too in-depth for younger readers.
Just my two cents

If Harry potter dies.... then it will die... but if he lives after the duel... he is always with me...MOD EDIT : I don't think there's any need to use such large font....it kind of looks as though you're shouting...

(And other people too..) Anyway, I'll always love Harry Potter, no doubt. Of course, I'll have read more books and be interested in them (HP still my favorite)and I will tell my children about the series...HP's a classic and so it'll still be around when I grow up.

I guess I'll go back to being occupied with men and dating and stuff again

I've been on a much needed sabatical since September last year, and I feel so...FREEee
I find it a dismal prospect, the anti-climax of resolution. It has occupied so much of my time not knowing how things are going to turn out with each book, *sobbs* and all that's going to be taken away

After the book no 7 (another 2 years?) we probably have another 2-3 years for the movies to finish, I think. So 4-5 years more of Harry Potter is assured. May in we will give it a break for another five years, and then start campaiging for that TV series based on the original books?.. any one else interested in the idea?

You people are thinking negatively (no offense). I believe there will be more because everyone loves the books and J.K.R. will make more money. She shouldn't stop at 7 because of the love of Harry Potter, you can't possibly fit all of this missing information in 1 book no matter how long, and we should have the right as readers to find out what happens after Hogwarts. Don't you agree.....?
†Hermione♪Granger†
Nov 30 2005, 12:49 AM
hey i belive that J.K.R has to write more on Harry Potter it can't and hopefully won't end at 7 it just can't and anyway she has to write about what he does after school, whether he does what he wants to or whether he settles down or goes looking for Voldermort. but it seriously can't end at 7 for one its an uneven number so it can't end on an unevn number
(but thats my excuse) LOL

I'll probably be a little sad after the series ends...I think I actually cried during the showing of "Return of the King" because I knew it was all over (for the "Lord of the Rings" films), so my likelihood of getting kind of teary over the end of the Potter books is pretty good. I've been reading them for going on six years now, so it'll be a little weird not to have them around anymore. I probably will quit going to Potter forums in a few years because I'm twenty right now and by the time the series is really over (with the filming of the last book)...well, I'll be pretty old. I've enjoyed it, it's been a lot of fun going to the releases of the books and going to see the films, but I've managed to learn that there's always something good coming down the line to take the thing that you're losing's place. Got me through the end of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "The X-Files', "The Lord of the Rings" triology of films, and a lof of other stuff I was pretty sad to let go of.
We'll all find something after Potter to love.

After HP? Hello, the books won't all self destruct when book 7 comes out! Do any of you reread? And, JKR will write an encyclopedia about the wizarding world, so we'll have that to keep us busy! And we can watch the movies as many times as we want, and we can do random things like, I dunno, making plays or writing fanfics too! There will never be an end to HP! ANd JKR will write more after Harry, so....
I'm just looking forward to reading book 7.
