Hobbies: Reading, addictively. I will read anything and everything and I don't stop until I finish the book I'm reading. My other hobby is cheerleading, which I have been doing since I was 12. This is the first year I am not on a team (yes, there are highly competitive teams for adults...I've only "retired" because I can't afford it anymore.) I've coached everything from 5 year olds to 18 year olds...this year its the 5-9 year-olds They're a lot of fun.

Favorite character: I'm a big fan of Tonks, Molly Weasley, and Hermione. Smart, strong, powerful females. There's something in each of them that I want to be like/hope that I am like. Tonks reminds me of myself... both a bit clumsy, goofy, and determined to be the best at what we do. I admire Hermione for her ability to use her brilliance far beyond books and tests, but to really help people. And Molly Weasley... I was always impressed with her ability to keep her family together through everything while also helping the OotP. But the final fight in DH truly sealed the deal for me. She's amazing.

Least favorite character: Snape. There is just no reason to treat children the way he treated Harry and Gang. I'm a teacher, and there are definitely children I do not like, but still treat them equally, kindly, and with respect that any human being deserves. It is never ok to embarrass or humiliate a child.

[font=Book Antiqua][size=2]My name in real life is Rachel, and I part time between Maine and Utah. I'm a 34 year (oldie) writer with NO life! At least outside of my home or computer... so I've decided to get myself an online life instead, which I'm pretty new at, so pardon me as I learn the ins and outs.

I'm a huge fantasy fan... love pretty much anything fantasy or Sci- Fi, whether books or movies, but I'm not such a geek that I remember loads of specific details... unless it's sometihng I've read or watched many times. Plus, there's just no room left in my brain at this point to remember lots of little details... especially since I've got my own little fantasy world going on up there 24/7 ...

As per Harry ... I think my favorite character would be two actually, the weasly parents; I just love the way they parent... I think anyone would be well off having them for parents. But also, I really think all the characters are wonderfully developed and you get a real sense of knowing them.

As for my least liked character ... would it be awful to stray a bit from the book, and say Michael Gambon as Dumbledore ... sorry to those that like him, but I just don't find him believable to the greatness of Dumbledore's character.

As for myself, I love to travel... I part time with an airline, so this makes that easier. I dabble in many "arts" like mosaic, bookmaking, playing violin, cooking Thai... and on the non artsy side I own two harry beasts who are my life outside of my computer... Farley and Maggie, along with my hubby of course.

As for other likes and dislikes .. let's see, as pertaining to books or movies, I absolutely despise predictable or typical hollywood endings ... I like to be surprised, even if its not the ending you desperately want.

At the moment, I very much dislike winter... there is so much snow in Maine right now that I have fled to Utah... where the air in the valley is so smoggy you can't leave your house(good for me since I rarely do). I think it's time for a new place to live.

As a child I grew up in a cult ... lived in a field(for a time), also lived in shacks with no electricity or running water, had a wolf for a pet, and am the eldest of 7 children.

I did graduate from college, from a University in Maine.
