To HP: first of all I was not intrested in HP at all. I didn't read one of the books and when the first movie came out friends took me to the cinema and I liked it. But I said to myselfe that I would not read the books. I thought they might be a little "off my age". Well, as the fourth movie was about to start - 3 or 4 month before the start of it when they started to show the trailer at cinema - I watched a movie in cinema with some colleagues from work and they said to me: should we go the 4th movie? And I said that I watched the first and didn't see one of the others so one of my colleagues offered me to lend me the DVDs and so I watched them. After that I desided to get me the books and I found that the english books came in a pakage of all 4 together as paperback (i like paperback most and they where cheaper than the german edition) so I orderd them. As we came nearer the days when the 4th movie was about to start and we made an appointment for the date I thought that I had to read the 4th book at least until the yule-ball because I was so excited to know what happend at the ball (and one of my thoughts that I have after one bad experience is never reading a book befor you go to the movie) that when we were in the movie I had read the 4th book complete. And know I have preorderd the 7th book and tell everybody who wants to listen or not that I can't wait to get that book

(Unless it's 'A time to kill', but that's for another forum). My husband bought me the first 3 books as a xmas gift and I've been hooked ever since! I'm Equusfixer. I'll just say I'm an adult, but I wish I was 19 again. I live in Eastern Oregon in the USA.

Aside from Harry Potter, I enjoy reading mysteries-especially The Cat Who... books and Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie Brown books. I also cook, sew, and garden. Outside the house, my husband and I raise show and race horses.

My favourite character is Professor Lupin, and my least favourite is Professor Snape. I came across this forum on a tip from one of my friends, I'm not sure if she posts here or not but I know she visits often.

My favourite group is Big & Rich (a country duo) but I like all types of music. My favourite artist of all time is Chris LeDoux (another country singer) I knew him when he wasn't famous for his singing, just his rodeo bareback riding.

I'm pretty easy going, so I like most anything, but I'm not too hot on eating vegetables though.

Welcome to VTM, everyone! I'm Darcy.

I've had the pleasure of sorting some of you.

It always blows me away how such a diverse group of people can be attracted to the Harry Potter stories and films. We're of all ages and countries here!

I'm a 45-year-old mom of 1 from South Dakota. My son is 20 now. When a new HP book would come out, we'd sit and read it together. My son likes to be read to. It was a terrific thing for us to find at a time when most parents and kids are growing apart. So please don't ever feel you're too old for HP!

We have a lot of neat forums here...some are for discussion of books, some the films, some are just for fun and games. The Lounge forum has lots of fun threads for fan clubs for characters, threads for your Hogwarts House, and even one for the over-20 years old crowd, and yep, it is a crowd, there's lots of us! Candy has already introduced herself there and joined in the discussions, a great new asset!

The Great Hall is for more serious discussions, both of HP theories and world events, which is why there are special restrictions on that one, but new members are always welcome there too.

I really hope all of you stick with us--2007 will be a very exciting year in the Potter-verse!

Hi, my name is Medea
I've read each Harry Potter's books three times (in English and Portuguese).
I'm really excited about the fifth film but I heard that Dobby will not appear. Who then will Harry about the Requirement Room?
In fact, I'm also anxious about the 6th film as we'll finally have the great Alan Rickman acting in most scenes (hopefully). Sometimes I get some disappointed at watching the films and seeing him so little. But at the sixth one, he'd better be in at least 60% of the scenes.
I read some comment that Imelda Staunton would not be good at playing the role of Dolores Umbridge because she can't look that evil. Well, I saw Imelda in some movies and I can assure that she can play any role she wants to. She's just amazing. Nobody will be disappointed by her acting.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm happy just going by RonsGirl. I chose that because I identify a lot with Hermione except that I would have long ago told Ron how I feel about him. I'm an adult living in the USA and have read all the HP books at least three times each.

I am a serious Potterhead and feel strongly that 100 years from now people will be enjoying the Harry Potter stories. I really enjoy Snape and can't wait to find out whether he is on the side of Good or Evil. I also love Neville because he is so full of untapped potential.
