Wow!! What a big list of new members we have gotten. What an exciting time we are in right now. Between the new OotP movie and the final book both being released in July, there is a lot going on in the world of Harry Potter.

I am sorry but with such a huge back log of new members I will not be able to greet each of you but I do have some general things I would like to pass on.

Several of you have commented about being older Harry Potter fans. No problem, you have found the perfect fan site. We have quite a few older fans here, myself included. For those "older" members, we have a thread here to discuss Harry Potter and us senior citizens.

For everyone, we have many different clubs located in our Lounge area to discuss your favorite characters. This thread here has a list of all the clubs we offer. Also, for those of you who have not done so, please stop by our Sorting area and get Sorted into your house and take any of the other quizzes we offer. Please remember though that members may only be Sorted once.

For those of you who enjoy a good in depth debate, we offer the Duelling Club. After you have been with Veritaserum for a month, you may apply to join the Duelling Club. Instructions for this can he found here. All of our posts are in the Great Hall. The rules are more strict in there and members are expected to post well thought out points of discussion. It is not for the casual poster. For those of us who love a good debate, the Duelling Club is an ideal place to go head to head with your fellow Duelling Club members.

I have been visiting the site for some time, but I haven't posted in here and thought it might be time. I drive my family nuts talking about Harry Potter. I have to admit to you though; when the first book came out, I wasn't sure about it. I was hearing a lot of negative press not just from TV, but also from others who had read it. My mother bought the book for my daughter, who was 10 at the time, and I wasn't sure about her reading it. So, I read it for myself and made my own decision. Hi all Hp addicts!! Just joined the forum!!! Hp is my alternate reality to escape to when life gets a bit much. Have now re-read all the books for the sixth time, and still discovering snippets of information that my brain ignored before, that give a whole new angle to the storyline!! Any Other Random Info You'd Like To Give!: My kids have been reading the books from the beginning and, like the dutiful mother I am, I took them to see all the movies (and really enjoyed them, myself). But I didn't read the books until this last Christmas time when I found myself without a new book to read. So I asked my daughter for her HP book. Then I read the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth all within the 10 days I had off between Christmas and New Years. That was all it took. I've been hooked ever since (although at my age, I remain a closet fan). I liked the movies, but I loved the books. There's so much more detail and stuff going on in the books. I've been visiting Veritaserum since then as a guest and just decided to join, so here I am!

My name is Vicky, and I'm 17..Been reading HP since I was eleven! hehe. I love anything and everything that has to do with creating art. I live in Toronto, and go to an art oriented school..hoping to write children's books, and study psychology at university, or animation..I'm sort of torn between the two fields right now =\

I can't wait for the final book to come out; I pre-ordered it from Chapters last month I'm not too fond of the movies...but as we all know, generally books are a lot better then their films. And besides, those books were just way too amazing ;D

How you came across Veritaserum: I spend my evenings , days, life on the MN/SS/TLC/Veritaserum wheel...it was just a case of getting off my lazy bum and joining. There's a lot of stuff discussed in here that isn't on the other HP forums, which attracted me.

I love Queen, Bill Joel, ELO, the Lighthouse Family, Sting/The Police, U2 (not as much as the rest, though), Slade (Yay!), REM, Lordi and Mika. But basically I like anything except rap - especially heavy metal and rock! Not that there's much on that list!

Erm...See hobbies. I also like cheese (I really do!), hats, mountains, coats (llike trenchcoats and greatcoats - not anoraks and stuff) and weapons of all shapes and sizes - my frineds reckon I'm slightly psycho!
