I thought the battle scene was AMAZING! Dumbledore was awesome and I loved how Yates did it I liked how Voldemort had the huge fire snake and then Dumbledore had him trapped in that water cocoon type thing and gosh just the whole thing was done brilliantly. Me and my sister agreed that the battle scene was only second to the one between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Star Wars III

I have to admit, for someone who though that movie was 'meh', that scene was pretty cool. I wish the book had been like that! Much less...I dunno...that scene in the book was weird.
Yates, I may not hate you entirely...

I don't think that scene was all that well done. I didn't like how Dumbledore was using water to trap Voldemort where did that come from, and that didn't even happen in the book. I also want to know where the part of Dumbledore being in one place, and vanishing into another place in the entrance hall at the MOM,and i didn't know that Voldemort could spit fire(WB that doesn't happen in the book at all). I also don't like the Magical fountain in the movie, it is not apart like that, but all together with the house elf looking up at the wizard in one fountain.

Dumbledore Vs Voldemort: The Most Amazing Battle Ever In The History Of The Harry Potter Films!Gahh, yes! Definitely! It was EPIC!! My favorite part in the whole movie! That with the Posession scene, I mean.

But it was epic epic epic. I loved it. I liked it better without music, I dunno I just think it made it so much more intense, hehe. I loved all the colorful lights and the really cool spells. Definitely the bestest (excuse the horrible english) scene in the whole movie! With the Posession scene, of course.

But it was great. I loved it. And also, if you look closely, you can see Dumbledore's shoes at some point. It's very amusing.

That scene is so wonderfully fantastic, it's made of so much win! Woot! I kinda love that scene muchly so, sense it's just that awesome, not to mention the fact that we totally see them doing magic like without wands. The whole hand thing to bend the magic, yeah, that's just awesome. Not to mention the glass to sand thing, whabam! Now that I'm done going on about how awesome it is, let's get to business.
It's twas not just like the book, that is true, but it was so good cause it showed just how powerful, and how well matched these two are. It also shows what I see most about these two, is that Dumbledore rarely actually attacks the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord does all the attacking, and Dumbledore defends. It makes it really obvious that this is not his favorite thing in the world. He doesn't want to do this, because a part of him still sees Riddle, which is just sad. I'm trying to remember, but I think there are only a few spells he ever casts against Riddle attacking (it's in this scene more than in the book), which really hightens this idea a lot.
Yes, the posession was weird to look at, but thinking back, it makes so much sense now. We were inside his mind in that scene, so obviously we have no idea what his body is doing. And the flashing of the scenes, that was cool. It shows his beating the Dark Lord out of his mind again, his winning.
So, all in all, I really like this scene, like tons. So awesome, not to mention the fact that battles are always awesome. If Gandalf had battles Sauron, it would have been like this. That's what it makes me think of, cause those two were awesomely stupendous, but totally never battled. Anways, enough comparissons.

I was definitely not impressed with the battle scene, there was too much special effects and too little substance in there. truly believed that the makers missed the bus there. They could have made it much more emotive as in the book especially when Riddle was forced to conjure a shield to block Dumbledore's spell. But then the makers have not impressed me much with their wisdom in the other movies so far, though much of the casting has been top rate I admit.
The battle at the ministry was a lot about the characters and less about spellwork. The confrontation between the two most powerful wizards of all time was supposed bring out their true character. Dumbledore's calm demeanour against Voldemort's seething rage, the dialogue between them is what makes that scene great and the makers messed it up in my opinion. They decided to go in for star wars lotr like glamour perhaps keeping in mind the wider audience. Don't blame them but doesn't impress me much. If this is any indicators of things to come, I feel sorry for the fate of the final confrontation between Harry and Riddle in Hogwarts. I get a feeling it would be sparks and glitterati flying around instead of the powerful dialogues between them. But then most movie fans are not interested in seeing two people talk are they?
