Laura, I have a sneaky suspicion that the blue-furred elf is more than he appears to be. I don't think he is a spy for Galbatorix, though. Why? Because he was handpicked by Islanzadi for the job of protecting Eragon. Could he dupe his own queen? I don't know.

The fact Eragon thinks he's seen the blue-furred elf before, and he tells Eragon that it was his sister (or cousin?) he must have seen during the Dragon Ceremony is a hint. Perhaps the blue-furred elf holds knowledge of the location of the Well of Souls? We never did get anymore information on that in book three.

I definitely think the blue-furred elf has a major roll to play in book four. Perhaps you are right in that he is a spy, but I just don't feel it.

My major reason for believing Saphira will mate with Galbatorix's black dragon is her time spent with Gladyr. She will need an older, wiser, and more experienced dragon to "be with." I don't think she'd have any patience for a hatchling. Unless we are given another dragon and rider in hiding, we have only the black dragon remaining that is older than Saphira.

I do have a burning curiosity as to the hoard of power Galbatorix is accessing through his stolen cache of Eldunari. They are not dragons of the flesh, but they are dragons. I wonder what they know that they've managed to keep secret from Galbatorix?

When I saw this, I got to excited to read all the other posts, so sorry if this was already mentioned, but did you know that Chris Paolini was rebelious against his editors, and that's why there is gonna' be four books instead of three? I personally don't mind all the rambling that Chris has put into his books, some of it is rather poetic, but it still does take away from the story. But I will always be a die hard fan. happy.gif

p.s. I voted Galby for the strongest, not because he's gonna win, but because he would, at the moment, kick everyones butt.

Garret Hedlund(Mertagh) is the cutest thing! Ok, not the cutest thing, but he's pretty darn cute. biggrin.gif

I haven't read the books, but my brother has and he said that the movie left out a lot or it didn't have the real facts(like Saphira flying away and coming back fully grown, really took like a week in the book). But, since I liked the movie and the book has more, I would LOVE to read the books at some point if I got the chance.

So since I don't know a whole lot about this, will there be a second movie?? I would like that. I hope there will be another one, that would be AWSOME!! biggrin.gif

May I just say that I am a big Eragon fan and I am in eager anticipation for the final book!!

I myself didn't like how they made the film at all. They DID leave out all the major parts. They didn't even have Solembum!! They've murdered a good book, basically. So yeah, a big thumbs down for that.

Anyway, snapesgirl, I seriously doubt they will make the other three films as it was basically a flop. That's my opinion anyway.

Blodgarm! I love him! He's wicked. His cousin is what Eragon saw at the Spring Ceremony when he first entered Du Welvelden. I agree, with you, I think he will become a stronger player in book 4, since he is a mysterious and intriguing character.

As for the Well of Souls, its actually the Vault of Souls xD Maybe good old Blodgarm does, since I don't think Paolini has developed his character enough. There is so much room for more to him! (Heh, I drew a picture of him, I'll try and post a link)

OH MY GOD I HAVE FOUND YOU AT LAST!!!!! I didn't know there was this thread!!!!!!!
Well yeah the film murder the book and Murtagh had an american accent!!!!!!! How dare they!!!!!! and so did Saphira!!!!! I love them!!!! ahhhh!

Well I have to say I think Arya is very powerfulk even though I hate her. I have actually been writing a fanfic about the Eragon books it is fused together with HP and several others. Its called Harry Potter and the Fictions and the link is in my siggy. Please read if you are up for what I hope is a luagh. happy.gif

Anyway, no offence but I hate Eragons character. Love Murtagh, and Thorn, and Saphira and .....to some extent....Roran...*cough* I mean you gotta love Roran. anyway book 4 better not take as long as book 3 did to come out or i will end up shrivelling up and dying somewhere.

I BET THEY MURDER MURTAGH!!!! I bet you the do!

I will eat theym if they do! he'll probably have some stupid soppy death like jumping infropnt of Galby just as he throws his sword at Eragon.

gotta go
I don't have my bag and i have lessons in like 2 minutes...gotta go...5th marauder is harassing me

bye.

Ooh, yay, I discovered an Eragon thread. I love anything magical or with magical creatures. Christopher Paolini also showed me (and indeed, JK Rowling) that it is acceptable to make up your own creatures in your novels.
Arya is by far my favourite character, so was Oromis and Saphira! Why, because of the magical capabilities they posses.
And am I the only one that is amazed with the creation of languages?

Yessssssssssssssssss!! Eragon thread.... sweetness. I really need to check out some more of this site..... hmmm..... anyway, I was wondering: does anyone know anything about what the fourth book is going to be called? I am seriously annoyed with Christopher Paolini (just kidding)..... for one, there isn't any room on my bookshelf for another humongous (and amazing) Eragon book ( wink.gif ) AND he's insanely amazing author, and he got published at what? Was it 19?
I'm also thinking..... are Eragon and Arya EVER going to realize they kinda belong together? Hello? I mean, really. And if there are any of you who don't think they should be together, sorry.... but I do, and that's how my romantic mind works. ALSO, if there was something about that kind of thing in one of the books, ignore this half of my post. tongue.gif
Well.... if I can think of any other pointless comments/questions about this series.... I will post them here.

PS: if anyone has already asked these questions, sorry, I just don't want to go through 21 pages of crazy Eragon fan talk. happy.gif

I absolutely love the Eragon books, perhaps more than HP (forgive me). The characters are so well developed and the plot twists are great. I really like the limitation on magic idea, it's better with it that way rather than people running around pointing their wands at something and it blowing up numerous times without strain on the user. The plot twist at the end of book 2 was brilliant but I don't like the word, dare I say it, Cycle. Trilogy sounds much more streamlined and purposeful. And Joey, I have to agree with you, I really admire somebody that creates their own language or land, Paolini did both really well.

I am sorry to say I have no idea althouog I do have a few ideas you might want to hear.

-Empire
-(Ancient Lang's true name cause it can't stay as Ancient Lang)
-(Name of the green dragon)
-(Eragon's true name)
-The Fall

my ideas. Does anyone else actually know the name...or the release date for that matter...
or have any cool names that it might be called.

I love the AL too Joey! It shows how much care and dedication CP puts into his work just having to makes up an entirely new lingo for Magic. I also think the idea of the magic taking just as much energy as completing the task normally is a really great idea, better than pointing wands and blowing stuff up I agree, but I prefer it when stuff blows up and evil snake Lords take over the world and want to rid the world of muggles *sniff* and rip up their souls to stay alive and stuff....I find it more interesting happy.gif

Anyone have any plot ideas? or are you trying not to look too far into it so its a suprise. To be honest I guessed the outcome of Brisingr but nothing couold prepare me for the completly amazing twist in Eldest. So amazing.
harry potter super fan
Christopher Paolini has stated that he decided to split Brisingr because the book was growing too big.And also that many plot elements that were originally intended for Brisingr will be moved to the fourth book...

but he hasn't yet given a name or official release date for the book...I think it'll be published pretty soon...because he wanted to put the whole thing in one book...but now he is just moving it to another book so it'll be sooner than book 3.....probably....
I think I'll just wait and not think too much abot the 4th book because i don't want to ruin the surprise....

I argee with Happy Dementor(sorry...I don't know your name!!):

Eragon's real name or name of the Ancient language'd be pretty cool..
And as for the magic...HP and Eragon have different ideas of magic and I like both of them..!!!

Yeah, when it comes to the names for the third one, a lot of fan-sites were thinking Empire because it was 6 letters, began with E and really fitted in. But now that Paolinni has creatded 4 not 3 books, the name might carry on. Of course there are way more possibilities .

I'd personally like a book that ended with Roran taking the place of the next dragon-rider as we see him becoming a great warrior in Brisingr. It would also suit that his lust for power would bring him over to Galbatorix but not for long. When he realises that he must fight Eragon, he flees before he must make a bond with Galbatorix. Of course these are just my wild ramblings but you never know. tongue.gif
