I really like Eragon, Shadeslayer... (Cristopher Paolini's world of Eragon) i mean i like them but i think i will stick with Harry Potter I am sorry Don't hate me. but i love the way Eragon shows so much magic to it and everything but i am going with Harry Potter here i really like Cristopher Paolini's work don't get me wrong. sorry

I really love Eragon, but Harry Potter is better in my opinion... Anyway, my favorite character is Arya, because she's not a wimp and she's smarter than everyone else put together. And Eragon is a total idiot, so he's not really my favorite, because all he can really do is swordfight and learn to ignore his pain. He's foolish. I think Christopher Paolini really based too many things on Lord of the Rings... (and i don't really like LOTR, but even so, Eragon is written so much better, and plus, it's not as gory.)

I only read the first Eragon book and about half of the second. I thought the ending to the first book was really well written and very exciting. The beginning to the first book was also really cool. I liked the way he had to take care of the Dragon and everything. I really did not like the second book as much though. I know the ending is really good to the second with a huge twist (that I accidentally found out before). But I really can't get there! Oh well. Once I finish reading the Da Vinci Code, I will probably move on back to Eragon!

I loved the twist at the end of book 2! I thought this book was just as good as the first one, but it was very different... his writing was better, and the story wasn't as predictable. But even so, it kind of bugged me how Eragon turned into a kind of elf. I can't wait until no. 3, though... I think it will be called Empire... And i heard that it will have a green dragon on the cover.

At least Eragon won't have anymore seizures! Yeah, I think the book's name will be Empire. Might get a little gory, but I'm not sure... green dragon? Hey, what about Murtagh and Thorn? Zar'roc, Eragon's sword?

Yeah, those seizures really disturbed me. And Murtagh's dragon was on the cover of Eldest. So i dunno who the green dragon is, but it's confirmed by Paolini that it'll have a green dragon. Each have a six-letter title that starts with E. So most likely it'll be Empire.

I read somewhere that the green dragon is the last unhatched dragon egg(which presumably hatches in teh last book)which sounded pretty reasonable to me.

I hate Eragon!(the character, not the book) He is stupid and...uggh. Arya's cool, but I really like Nasuada and Elva. I like Saphira, too.

Same here! Eragon is a total dunce. I adore Arya. But I don't really like Nasuada, because she doesn't really have a much of a distinctive character.

Hey ...Eragon :wub:Personally i love his character, i think he cool, i love Arya, but i have to say Eragon can be stupid at times Book 2 * painting of Arya * that was crazy, but i love these to books i think they equal to Harry Potter they are well written. i have to agree with PoodlePatronus it does remind of LOTR which i love, but i can't wait for the movie and Book 3 to come i am excited, something to keep me going until hp7 comes out and hp5 in cinemas . I do like Arya, and the other charcters they are cool. Book 3 will have a green dragon on it , I read on eragon fan site, but who would be its rider ? now that is a question, my hunch is Ronan or maybe Vanir

I don't think Eragon is nearly as good as Harry Potter, but I love it all the same... (I love Eragon, but i'm obsessed with HP. ) Eragon (the character), in my opinion, is just tactless. I mean, he has a good heart and all, but he acts so stupidly then wonders why Arya doesn't like him as much as he likes her.
What if Roran became the last dragon rider? I wonder if Murtagh is going to join Galbatorix against Eragon and the good guys. It didn't exactly say who Murtagh would be joining up with... I think that maybe the egg might hatch for Arya. I know that Saphira didn't hatch for her, but that might have been just because she sensed that it was a dangerous time... That would be interesting, because Arya would be a good dragon rider. Arya is so brilliant.

Ooooh! I have a qusetion. If scabs come off on their own, where did Eragon's leg scabs fall off, when, and how large? ATTENTION: Do not read if you have medical concerns. Might give fear of scabby nightmares.

I'm REALLY excited for the movie. I read the book as soon as it came out (HP style) and same for the Eldest. I hope they make a movie of the second book too, because I really want to see the part when the dragon comes out of the two elves bodies- I've reread that part way too many times. It just sounds so cool!!

OMG this will be so cool. I saw an interview with Edward Speleers (Eragon) and he sounds like he'll be good. Even though I think they used lots of hair dye.

My favoirte charcater has to be Saphira and remember when Eragon is a idoit in the 2nd book with Arya he is only 16 and I think this is the first time he ever really like a girl. just my thoughts.

DECEMBER 15TH can't come fast enough

I know that this probably is going to be a VERY, VERY stupid question but here it goes: When I was reading the book 1, Eragon, I knew where the title come from: ERAGON! But the second one, Eldest, I have no idea of who or what it is! Aand I've read the second book 3 times already to find out!! Am I really that dumb???
Can someone tell me who or what Eldest is or means?? I'm completely lost!!!

Magic Khrixx, The book title Eldest means Murtagh is Eragon's older brother. Eragon's mom, Selena, had 2 babies. Murtagh was born somewhere near Uru' baen, then Morzan, Murtagh and Eragon's dad, went beserk (giving Murtagh the scar), so Selena ran away to Palancar Valley to have Eragon, and then she ran away (again.).

However, I do not know how Murtagh knew Eragon was his brother.

Plus, if the 3rd book's title is Empire, then that would stand for an Empire, Alagaesia, or ruling an Empire.

I think I like Eldest better than Eragon; I thought Eragon alluded too much to LOTR, but I think Eldest had its own original plot and the characters were developed better than they were in Eragon. My sister didn't read Eldest because she thought it was too violent, but I thought it was better by far.

PoodlePatronus I'm going to agree with you on that one- I also enjoyed Eldest more than Eragon. Some of my friends who are MAJOR Lord of the Rings fans read Eragon and didn't really want to read Eldest because Eragon was too much like their favorite books... I eventually convinced them to read it, and they feel the same... oh well...

But still, Eldest had a pretty unique plot. Kudos to Christopher Paolini!

I think Eldest had to much in common with Star Wars. I really do. I also think that the third dragon will go to either Elva,Arya, or Roran. They seem most likely. I am personaly leaning towards Arya because we need a girl rider. I also think they are screwing up the movie. In 2 of the pre review things they said "Evil King Brom" no joke. Me and Prodfoot got mad at it.

I heard that the movie wasnt going to be all that great. some people were saying that they changed some of the storyline and took some of the best parts out. is that true? And as for the game, i thought it was a horrible idea from the start. It would turn into one of those Harry Potter game type things and noone would play it. (wich would totally ruin this awesome saga

I love Inheritance . I am currently reading Eldest, but I loved Eragon, the book, it was fantastic! The Ra'zak really are scary beings, aren't they. Doing what they did to that villager.

Wow. For a long time after reading Eragon and Eldest I thought nobody else knew about the triolgy but I found a couple other people.. and now I have heard about a movie, and I saw the game! I PLAYED it. I was offered to reserve it at EB games. It is ridiculous, it makes me so depressed that they are ruining it lol. The movie looks awful lol.

I think Jarn is right. The movie looks bad, but then again its hard to make a movie like that.

I like Eragon but Saphira is my favorite. I took a quiz and I'm most like Brom. I sawa preview for the movie and I havea felling I'm goingto be disappointed. I think Saphira looked bad but i didn't hear the evil King Brom bit! OMG if they got rid of him as a rider I'd be really mad .
I hope the next Rider is a girl but not Arya, Elva would be neat.
Hopefully Eragon will get a new sword.

What do you mean by the tailbone of the Spine? You mean spine as in assosciated with the human body, or Spine as in associated with Eragon?

Id just like to say that the Inheritence Triogy is way too much like Star Wars. If you want a good solid explanation then just go www.anti-shurtugal.com and just browse through it and you'll find it eventually. I am i major fan of the Inheritence Trilogy and cant wait for Empire and the movie which looks amazing from the trailers ive seen (if you want to see the trailer go to www.shurtugal.com and scrol down the central bit until you see the headline 'new eragon trailer') but i honestly dont think that Christopher Paolini is original in any way. He does steal a lot of stuff from other greats like JRR Tolkein and Ursula Le Guin. Sorry if ive angered any one

Yes, I agree. He did take to much from Star Wars and LOTR. It's sad, really. I mean, if your going to write a book atleast try to make it origanal. But give him a bit of credit, He was 15 when he wrote Eragon. 15 PEOPLE!! How many 15 year olds do you know who can write a book like the Inheritance books? Ok, sorry. I was just frustrated.

I agree it is a bit like Lord of the Rings but if you like a story you're going to use some of the ideas on purpose or my accident. The first idea I came up with (mind you I was 7 at the time) was just like Lord of the Rings but without rings.
Christopher Paolini was homeschooled that's why he had time to write a book I guess. I write all the time.
I heard the next dragon is green, don't know how true this is though.

I love The Inhertance thrilogy so much though I don't know if I prefare the first ir second (can't wait for the third though ) There not better than GoF, OotP or HBP but probly better than the first 3(dunno about PoA though )

I absolutely LOVE Eragon and Eldest. Christopher Paolini has inspired me so much, I'm writing a book myself1 It's just for my friends, but we'll see where it goes.

I love the movie trailor, and they made another one a little while ago, but do we hear Saphira "talk"? I would be sorely dissapointed if Saphira doesn't talk.

I love Eragon because it is a cross between Harry Potter(magic), LOTR(fighting), and Star Wars(whole father thing). It may seem like he took alot of things from those stories, but he did a good job of turning it into his own. It's amazing that he wrote this at such a young age also! I can't wait for the movie! I want to hear Saphira's voice soooooo bad!!!! By they way, Eragon and Arya are totally going to get toghether!!

sorry, but you got it wrong! on page 559 of Eldest, towards the bottom of the page, you see three mountains that Jode calls Edur Carthungave with two dots above the e in Carthungave, and what one of the sailers calls the tailbone of the spine. sorry!!

speaking of rumors, they also say that it will be a green male dragon and it will be called Empire, fitting with the starting with e and six letters long tradition. any thoughts on these?
