will there be new marauders??

maybe there will be in book 7 but with a girl this time i think maybe harry,ron,hermione,neville (prongs,padfoot,moony or moona in this case,wormtail)
or maybe they change the nicknames.
afterall they still have lots of the marauder's things like the map,the invisibility cloak,the two way mirror and the only remaining good marauder lupin(so he may give them something else) i thought about it when i was reading (book 3) i mean why not?

That is a good idea, but I don't think that there will be any new marauders added. I think that was a thing for Sirius, James, Lupin, and Peter to persue, just something to give us insight on their past. I really think this whole idea of Neville being a new Wormtail is just stupid. Neville wouldn't ever join the "Darkside" after what Voldemort did to his parents. Just think about it. And Harry, Ron, and Hermione don't really have anything in common with the old Maruaders. But I think we will see something of Lupin's pop up in the 7th book.

Ya i highly doubt that there will be any new Mauders in book 7.That was something special with just James,Sirius,Lupin and wormtail.I think that they would make pretty good Mauders but, i still dont think we will ever get to see that happen.

While I doubt that they will take the name Marauders (or similar)--or that Neville will betray anyone--there are some definite connections between the two groups. However, there are enough differences that it's possible those connections are just coincidences, and thus I don't think it's a good idea to try to extrapolate the current group's actions on the basis of what the Marauders did -- unless JKR gives us a reason to suspect otherwise.

I agree again. Yes, they did have some smilarities, but nothing to make them go hand in hand. I think the the are just coincidences. JKR just wanted us to know of Sirius', Jame's, Lupin's, and Peter's past, to give insight on who they are now in the books.

well i would like there to be new marauders and i have the best 4 people to be the new marauders and they are. Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. because thye are the best four that has been through so much and they all love each other in a som way. so they should be the new marauders

i have to agree with the majority here and say that the marauders were unique in only being james, sirius, lupin, and wormtail, and that no one can replace them or start a new group.. i also think that, depending on how many people die in the 7th book, and i think its quite naive to think that one or more of the trio won't die, there will be more than 4 really good friends remaining, because right now there are harry, ron, hermione, neville, ginny, and luna (the people that went to the ministry in OotP and who i think will go to destroy the horcruxes)

and any thought about neville turning to the darkside is just completely ludicrous

Yeah, I cant see JKR bringing that into play.

And heaven forbid Neville turns to become a DE. I think JKR might just off herself he she did that to poor Neville.

Afterall, he's almost been through as much as Harry, except he's had to grow up knowing his parents were in pain and that he couldn't help them.

And plus, it doesnt seem to be all that important, the items help Harry along the way, but the Marauders held no true importance as of yet, other then the fact that they were all friends and that on eo fthem betrayed the others, while the others still remain loyal to one another and their family.

*sigh* no, i think that JKR won't make them the next marauders, but in a sense they kinda are, even if they are not called that. i mean, think about it and you might see my point... sure they are not CALLED the marauders, and they don't have nicknames (unless you count "wonwon" ) but they have a freindship like the marauders did, and they, too, get into mischief, i suppose... so in a sense they are the marauders, even though they are not, if that makes any sense at all without it sounding comletely mental!

i hope there wont be because then you wouldnt remember the original mauranders and it wouldnt be right. no i dont think so, i hope not anyway.

The trio is already the new Marauders. Just because they do not call themselves maruaders doesn't mean that they are not. Honestly, how many other people spent that much time wandering the corridors? As far as the naming, they do not need them. Besides, the link of unregistered animagus was something that no other band of students has ever replicated. It would be difficult to do so.

yeah, its a nice idea and i have thought about it on many occassions. the similarities are very clear and predominant. but JKR doesn't need to re-use parts of the story. if she were to do that it would just be repeating another story that has already been told by her. i think that she assumes that everyone has picked up on the similarities, and she guesses that there is no need for her to announce it.

i also do not think that neville will end up like wormtail, i dont think that he will betray harry, ron and hermione. he will probably be faced with the decision, as i imagine voldemort will offer him the opportunity and power that he probably offered wormtail, but i dont think that neville will accept.

no way can there be new maruaders...they were unique..also neville is not a part of the trio group he hasn't gone on all those wicked adventures..also the map has been set as prongs, padfoot and so on. i think that the trio will that the way is it and not bother with it.

Although i like the idea of having marauders i do not think that it will happen. Although harry might cause a little mischief if he comes back for his seventh year. But although they do have most of the marauders things i dont think that they will cause that much trouble.

The name Marauders was just a name for their group. They were a group of friends.

Which is exactly what Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny(yes, Ginny. or somebody else.) are.

They don't need a particular name to be this generation's group of friends.

I hope we don't lose the current remaining Marauder . But I don't think so. If anyone should be allowed the title of Marauder, it is Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, and George. Fred and George specifically. But I don't really see it happening .

I think it would be really nice if those three were new mauraders! But i don't think there would be. Harry may find it a bit of a um...whats the word...insult to his father and Sirius. So yea. But i think it wold be a nice touch.

while reading the books i was trying to compare Harry Hermione and Ron to the origanal marauders but there is no comparasim (sp?) i agree with After the Burial even though they may not call them selves Padfoot Wormtail Moony and Prongs dosent mean there not allreadt marauders but i seriously doubt that JKK will bring in new ones.

These friends will not be new maradurs They are too readicly differnt then the originals. However, JKR i think tries to make connections with the group to harry's friends. WEak nevile, smart Herminone, Serious ron James Harry with ron and Harry not breaking as many rules. She uses them to help get a better understanding of both Harry's friends and his dad;s friends by conparison.

I dont think there will be ner Mauraders added but maybe rom,harry,hermione, and ginny will ad don to it becasue they are pretty sneaky and in fact im surprised that fred and george hasnt added to it already.

Yes maybe she's comparing them, Packers, but I do not think she compares each individual.

first of all, Neviille is not weak, he is just not so talented. Wormtail (that's him you're comparing him to) however, is WEAK. he is a traitor, and Neville is almost the opposite of him. he is extremely loyal, and not a coward like Wormtail.

Second of all, as you said, hermoine being smart. well Lupin wasen't the smartest of them. nither did he have the courage to defend whoever james and sirius were picking on. If I understand Hermione right, she'd be much more like Lily.

And Ron and Harry are not very similar to Sirius and James. As you said, they son't break as many rules as them, and they are not arrogant, or superior towards the other students. And If you try to compare Sirius to Ron, you'll find out that they are very different. Sirius at Ron's age, was a really conceited guy. Now if there is one word I wouldn't describe Ron with, it's that (apart from the sequense with Lavender). Although nither of them do not pay too much respect to the rules.

But the thing you can compare with all of them, is their friendship. Especially you can find several similarities between Harry's and Ron's Friendship, and James' and Sirius'. like when Sirius moved away from home, he lived sometime with the Potters. As do Harry with the Weaslys.

Mmmmm.. that would be real fun to have new Marauders but i dont think that they will have time for it... the next book HPDH is gonna be very dark maybe they will have the nick names but not the actions.. the have so much on there minds.. but it woukd be fun after all.

Nope, sorry, I don't believe that. I mean, yes, the characters are similar...

Harry = James
Hermione = Moony
Ron = Padfoot
Neville = Wormtail (tho neville is way better)
Ginny = Lilly

...but I don't think they're gonna give each other nicknames like that or anything. I mean, Ginny (Lilly) is already Harry's (James') girlfriend. And Lilly and Ginny both have red hair and are stubborn and fiery-tempered, and James and Harry are completely the same. It doesn't get more similar than that. But I don't think Harry and the others are going to call themselves the marauders or anything.
