Is it just me or is Dan's hair waaaay to short for the movie? I think it needs to be longer!!! In the books it says his hair is long and messy and that's the way it needs to be!! They should have given him a wig or extensions or something!!!! Please give me your oppinion!!

Well its not where I would think it would be best but it is so much better than his girly do in gof. the best time he had his hair was in poa. but thats my opinion

i think its too short as well....he looks so much better with it long and messy. and besides thats the style these days hes getting older

I think Dan's hair is just the right length, it is all messy, it is all long and I really like it. I don't want it all straight and a shorter length. It is nice now. And hooobajube your signature knocks the parchment out of place.

Hey james pickles... his hair is short now... not long. he cut it after the 4th movie for december boys. he never grew it out again.

I agree with wizkid the long hair is pretty much the style these days.I dont like his hair that short.Its way to short now.I did think that his hair in poa was not bad.I think that it is not like in the books the way it is now.I dont really like it at all.

see i think the way it was in GoF was perfect. i think thats the way it should be because yes that is the style now but also because thats how i pictured it in he books. ya it was ok in PoA but i liked it in GoF the best.

I dont like it in GoF, makes his face look fat and it makes him look, well, like Hermiones hair, it was too long, I like it in the Prisoner of Azkaban the most.

I personally thought Dan's hair was at its best in Goblet of Fire because I liked that length and how messy it just could be naturally (Belive me I know it can naturally that messy). I tink he had to cut it for December Boys and it obviously didn't grow back fast enough. It'll do but I hope it is back to being long in Half-Blood Prince.

The first thing I thought when I saw the teaser poster was that the hair was too short. The book's describe it as messy and that makes you think its got to be somewhat long (it's hard to make short hair very messy). I agree that it was perfect in the GOF. The movies before that just had his hair too neat. But I guess you can't have everything by the book.

Actually, the common description in the books is that his hair won't stay flat, not that it is "messy." There is an important distinction. In fact, it is often short hair that will not stay flat, usually due to the way the hair grows (in Texas, we call it a "cow lick"). I always got the impression of his hair being about 2 or 3 inches long on top (I don't know if you call that short or not. My hair, which goes down to my shoulders in the back, is only 5 or so inches). I figure that Harry's "cow lick" comes from James, and is why he looks so much like him. I haven't ever seen Dan's hair styled right for how the book describes it, but it is pretty much the right length anyway, in my opinion.

my answer doesn't really fit any of those options... i wish it was a little longer, but i'm not too concerned about it... it's just a small detail we have to deal with and i'm more worried about the plot details than the people's hair

i guess the filmmakers thought the hair was too long in the last movie and decided to go back to the look from the first two movies

I actually really despise Dan's hair long. I think it looks really stupid. I'm glad it's shorter. It looked absolutely perfect in Prisoner of Azkaban, because it was shorter and also messy [ well sticking up ], like it's supposed to be. It was just long and...long in the Goblet of Fire, it had no Harry character to it.

I agree that they should make it look a lot more untidy, though.

I think I liked the hair the best in PoA; not too long but not too short. However, Dan's hair, or lack there of, isn't going to make or break the movie for me

I remember a similar topic being started when the first photos for GoF came out, and everyone started commenting on how Dan's hair was too long! And the twins, and Ron... Ah, you guys are never satisfied...poor Dan!!

I moaned about his hair before, I have to be honest, but it kind of grew on me after a while...pardon the pun...*ahem* Now, I have to say I prefered it long. Looks like the poor kid's been scalped! I'm sure they can fit him up with a decent wig...

i guess u are right he is being picked on an awful lot! but ya i guess his hair just does kind of grow on u after a while. its not an important factor for the movie but i would like to see the characters fit into thier character the way the books describe them. o well!

I think it is too short for movie 5 because it was long in movie 4. They should have jsut cut his hair a little bit for movie 5 rather than hacking it off!! But whatever haircut he has he still looks like Harry Potter!! :P

Like most of you, I also think Dan's hair was perfect in PoA, too long in GoF and too short in OotP. I was finally getting used to that longer haircut, and now it's short again. He hardly looks like the Harry we know, when I judge on the pics I've seen so far I'll get used to it eventually. Just need to take a look at those pictures some more untill the movie comes out.

for those of you who say that longer and messy is more in style now, well it is supposed to be set in the mid 90's so shorter hair was more in style back then. and i definately agree that his hair is not going to change my opinion about the movie

I agree with you, but I still think it looks ok. its not the best but he had to cut it for another movie. His hair has kinda grown on me now. he's still hott! even now!




I agree with you too about it not changing my opinion about the movie. Like i said before. It's not an important factor of the movie but I like to see the actors/actresses fit into their character from the books! Even if sometimes its just how i picture them!

well, i like Dan's hair in the 5th movie. it would be nice that Dan will have a new look. besides, he's also cute with a short hair.

in the third movie i think dans hair looked ok short, but when I saw a picture for OtP I nearly screamed!!! I guess they want him to look younger, because Dan is 17 and harry only 15 but It just doesnt fit. It looks too neat, and it really doesnt cover up his scar.

but I love, love , LOVE ruperts hair for OtP. idk why. I just do and I think it works really well for Ron.

i know the books take place in 90's, but I think its werid to go from long to really short and clean-cut that fast. The long hair did look much more present-day, and this new style not so much.

Personally, I think that it was too long in the 4th movie, but it is just a little too short for the fifth. They should have it somewhere inbetween like in the third movie. But I like it better than the 4th movie. Short will be nice for a change.

Gee, now Harry looks awfully alot like young Tom Riddle. Maybe they go to the same Wizard Barber or something. You’d think wizards would have some crazy dos ala 80’s Flock of Seagulls or something. Short-haired Harry looks too er, ‘wannabe taken seriously’ older.

i'm so glad that SOMEONE in their right mind posted something about this! it has been upsetting me the minute they started shooting. it seems to be some sort of weird pattern: with the odd numbered movies (like the 1st 3rd and now 5th movie) dans hair seems to be short. but in CoS and GoF his hair was fine. WHAT HAPPENED?! i loved that whole rugged, i-just-got-out-of-bed look. i might just wear black to school tomorrow in mourning of dans hair. (haha just playing.. i'm not THAT upset about it)

I have to say that this is going to show my age...

I think that Harry is maturing through these movies, so his looks should be maturing. I realize that he is only 15 in the next movie, but he is facing a man's battle. In GOF, I thought his hair was awful because it made him look so young and whimpy. Just my opinion -don't take offense, please.

He is now a young man standing alone and the shorter hair makes him look like he has matured. I like it much better now.

It was waaaaaaaaay to short!!!!!! It just doesn't look right!!!!!!! In the book they describe it as messy. It does so not look messy! In the first and second movie it was good. In the third it was the BEST! In the fourth it just annoyed me. And now it looks like..... like.... well just not right! ugh! Yeah that's the word I was looking for!

Dan is just a horrible Harry....... But putting my hate aside for Dan and Harry, his hair is too short to be Harry Potter.
