He looks much more fit with it long && all over the place . .

The way his hair looks now makes him look like a Pansy. It's far too well groomed. Harry Potter doesn't care about how his hair looks! He wouldn't comb it and buzz it and deal with all the yadda he's dealing with to keep it the way it is now...
Daniel Radcliffe should try not being so lazy about his hair. He's an actor, he ought to know he has to do things for each movie, not just sit with it the way it is.
...similar to the way he won't wear green contacts.

I like his hair, but it's not the way they describe it in the books. It's more for just the movie I guess. But I think his hair was too long in GoF but I loved it in PoA. I guess it's just because he's maturing and etc. The hair on hermione is a little too neat too. But that's a different topic.

Wow, you guys are fussing over something that really doesn't matter. No offence intended but honestly who cares whether he has short hair or hair down to his ankles? There are so many more topics to be thinking about when it comes to stuff about the OOtP movie - topics better than how short Dan's hair is.
And by the way, the reason that it is so short is because it was cut that way for his role in December Boys. At least, that's what I read in an interview somewhere a while back.

Feb 9 2007, 11:46 PM
yeah, its' true, he cut his hair, cause of December boys. And I agree with Madmoiselle Lilly; Why so much fuss over his hair? I mean ok, I agree it looks a bit weird and out of place, but srsly, thats' not the point, his acting is wht is important

I was suprised to see Dan with his hair that short as a result of December Boys, but to me it really doesn't matter. All that really concerns me is whether or not Dan can play the part, which I'm positive he can. In the books Harry's hair is a little longer and quite messy, like in Goblet of Fire, but what I manily focus on is his skill on playing the character, more than just looks.

Feb 13 2007, 03:29 AM
I'd prefer it a little longer, but, really, I'm indifferent to it. It's his hair, let him do what he wants to it. When I first saw the first OotP pictures I was like 'Woah! that's different!' But I don't really care. The only reason I had such a reaction was because I was used to his long hair. It's kind of like when a friend gets a haircut, at first your taken aback, but sooner or later it grows on you.

UGGGH! Don’t even get me started on Dan’s Hair! I think he was most realistic in movie 3. The hair was just how Rowling describes and Dan had the whole Potter look going on. Now he’s a “stupid nancy boy”

really? i thought they kind of went back to a 3rd movie cut. In the 5ht though...it is a little shorter on the sides. But when I first saw pictures from the movie, I thought "hey, his hair is back from the 3rd movie" His hair in 1-2 was just...not HP. So do I! I think a lot of people would agree as well...
I understand that his hair IS a bit short for the description, but does it really matter though? What matters to me more is how well he acts, not how his hair looks. Personally, i dont even think it looks that bad. PoA hair was better, but this is still alright.

i think it's too short! when i first saw him with his new hair cut, i was like
because his hair was so pretty and long at the 4th movie.. honestly, dan looks older with his hair like this, but that doesn't take off his hottness hhahaha.. let's face it, with long or short hair, Dan looks hotter than ever.. or am i wrong?

I wish it wasent so short since i liked his hair in POA since inGOF it got i little to long but i wish he dident cut it sooo short i want it to grow back really fast

but i think rupert should have left his hair alittle longer but at least its not as short as dan's!

Feb 22 2007, 11:29 PM
Oh yeah his hair is too short. It seems like in every film that his hair length changes. It gets longer from 2-3, and 3-4. It was really long in number 4, and now it seems shorter than any of them. Mine is the length Dan's was in number 3, and that looks good, but now it is too short. When I first saw the pictures I thought they were just promotional shots, but then the trailer came out and I knew it would be that length for the movie.

You see, when i first saw harry with his new hair do it looked as though he went for it on that one because when i saw him in the interview on The Jonathan Ross show last year i agreed that it scared me a bit.
Nevertheless, if you think about it his hair has actually grown slightely in making the movie and its starting to look a bit better now.
I think that by cutting his hair this length now wll guarantee a hairstyle like in prisoner of Askaban when it comes to the Half blood prince, and i definitely cant wait for that.
But i tell you something, has anyone yet seen the pictures of James and Sirius etc. because i did the other day. I must admit i was a bit taken aback when i saw them because, just look at Jame's hair in this one; it's not dark like harry's; its actually lighter than it should be. I hope this has urged you to look at these pics. i found them on this website called HPANA.com.
Have you heard of it?
They always have new pictures on it and news even if you don't see it on Veritaserum.
... but i do think it is acceptable because if you also take look at the order of the phoenix photo - i thought it looked like Gilderoy Lockhart at first, but - next to Sirius is, in fact, Harry's father (just look for the glasses!), James, also with lighter brown hair. I think in a way this is how its supposed to be because in reality some people do in fact start out with lighter hair when their young - and he is definitely younger in this, because of his lack of wrinkles compared to the first and the fourth film - and then they get darker and darker. However i must point out if whether this is the same actor or not because he looks chubbier and his face isn't as long.
...Anyway, back to the point of harry's hair, i believe that the hairstyle he has at the moment is just right for the 5th movie because i just cant imagine the story line fitting with a harry with longer hair - do you?; it just wouldn't look right with all the big scenes.
Sometimes, certain films only suit a certain style of the character and thats just whats happening. For example, you can never imagine harry fighting the dragon with short, clean, and out-of-the-way hair because with a storyline like that he needs to look rugged and messy and so his hair should be in a position that could get all out of place very easily, without it looking neat.
You get my point?
This goes the same with Order of the Phoenix; because harry's actions in this plot is meant to be clean and crisp to the point that he could look rather smart for a boy who is going to lead an army. If he had really messy hair like he did in GoF you just couldn't imagine anyone wanting to follow him and take notice of what he says because he just wouldn't give atall a great impression of 'this means business!'

I didn't know it was possible to write that much about hair. You guys are obsessing about this WAY to much. You guys should be alot more worried about all the other things that will be changed. I can just see them now changing the whole fight seen so Voldemort kills Sirius and Harry then goes and chases Voldemort. I'm alittle more worried about the plot than Harry's hair.

I must admit, i don't particularly like Dan's hair the way it is now because it looks horrible; personally, i hope he lets it grow a bit more for Half blood prince and not keep cutting it so its the same length; there is no doubt it will look longer in the next movie.
Nevertheless - so far it seems that all of Dan's hairstyles have matched the films perfectly (i.e. you can't see how GoF would have worked if harry had neat hair because the storyline needs it to be completely messy like it was in order to portray harry's rough side throughout the three tasks; and OotP would not be the same if he had messy/too much hair because he needs to look influencing enough towards the DA, and not to mention he needs to be able to pull off a good impression for the Hearing)

I think it's a bit smaller than I expected but i'ts normal because Daniel had had to cut his long hair from the Globet of fire to act in December boys and his hair can't grow up very fast.
The best size for me for Daniel's hair size is the first one when he appeared in the Philosopher's stone or the Chamber of Secrets.

AIIIIEEEEEE! That is SO not the same gorgeous guy from GoF! Still gorgeous, but his hair! It's really short! After I saw some pics from the movie, I was shocked!! He looks really different from in any of them. In the Goblet of Fire, his hair was just the teeniest bit long, but I thought that was cute. And in The Prisoner of Azkaban, it was just so. . . . perfect! But, I don't know, maybe his short hair might really suit him when he's not playing Harry
Sorry 'bout that. . . Anyway. He just looks, so, different! But I think the glasses and short hair kind of go together, but I really preferred it long, it just, hmmmm, how can I say it, went with him, if anyone knows what I mean. It's just, in the pictures, when you see his eyes looking at you from under that fringe, don't you just want to FAINT!? I certainly do. But when you see them with NO fringe, it's like, your legs go to jelly, but you don't Faint!

I couldn't agree with you more, potter0789. Dan is gorgeous no matter what and his hair being short really isn't all that important. He had to have it like that for December Boys and yeah ... it still isn't the neatest hair so it still works for Harry Potter. I don't see why everyone's getting all worked up about it. I agree with Nimbus, PoA/GoF was deffo the best time for dan's hair, but wont ruin the movie just because he has short hair. I'm slightly worried though as ive read reviews which say it was a bit of a let down. His hair in the 1st 2 movies fell into place too much, its supposed to be messy dam it MESSY!

Fascinating. Maybe he got a hair cut or something. When I first saw the trailer for OotP I almost threw up (maybe a slight over-exaggeration). I never liked Daniel Radcliffe to begin with, but he looks awful with that hair! His face looks so much wider and he looks dreadful!!! Why can't they keep his hair the same in the movies?? First a horrible bowl cut, then in the third a style I thought was much more suiting to Daniel Radcliffe and much closer to Harry's real hair, then super long and weird in the fourth and now this horrible short hair in the fifth!! I mean, the start of this movie is only a few weeks after the end of the last (if they do it correctly). So he obviously went out and got a major hair cut, Harry did! Drastic changes in appearances always tend to happen in the few weeks between where each story picks up

I know the movies are made ages after each other, but honestly...

Mar 25 2007, 10:38 AM
You know...i think Dan's hair is beginning to grow on me. At first i thought

OMG! WHAT HAS HE DONE TO HIS HAIR!!! but i believe that it doesn't matter in the end because if you think about it all of the hairstyles he has had so far have contributed to the films in some way. For instance, in GoF, I bet no one can imagine harry with short hair - wot with the way he has to battle the dragon...its essential for harry to have longer hair in this movie because he has to get all physical and the only way to portay that roughness in the three tasks is for his hair to get uncontrollable and messy in the meantime. If you know what i mean?...If you dont then here's another example: in OotP, it actually suits the film best if harry had shorter hair because during his hearing he must make a good impression so it would be thing easier for him to portray that at his best. Not only that but he has to make a good FirstTeacher impression towards the DA, and to do this he can't have a messy/all-over-the-place hairstyle because he just wouldn't look the part.
Nevertheless, i am guaranteeing that Dan's hair will grow a satisfactory enough length for HalfBloodPrince because there is no way he can cut it or do anything with his hair at the moment. And i certainly agree that, knowing Dan, he will probably leave his hair until it grows out of control again...i hope.
I don't know about you guise but i wishing upon wishes that the Rupert Grint - the one who plays Ron - will begin cutting his hair alot more, coz if you ask me i'm getting bored with his mop at the moment. Although i am really really pleased with his hairdo in OotP (MAKES HIM LOOK SOOO HOT), i am planning that in HalfBloodPrince he will shorten his hair around the side - so that you can see his ears clearly - because i think it would suit him with the sort of part he has to play in the film. I don't know i just can't imagine him, when i read the book, with longer hair. I was chekin out his interviews between the makings of the two films Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, and i saw that his fringe was sort of sticking up slightely. This i think would work well on him in HalfBloodPrince as we will get to see a whole new side of Ron.
Plus...i'm thinking, also, that Harry should have wispier hair in HalfBloodPrince (but still short like it was in Prisoner of Askaban) because i think it would look soo cool and sexy

I think his hair is way to short! Harry's hair is supposed to be long and constantly messy, and Dan's hair is to short for it to be like that now. I don't think it should matter to much though, although in GoF (movie) I thought the hair looked really good then.
His hair's probably shorter for Equus (sp?), so if anyones that obsessed, blame that!
