What do you think? Is Evanna a totally different match from what you imagined or is she picture perfect?







My opinion: I don't like her. Put yourself in a casting directors shoes!! You base these things on appearances--its buisness. I don't care if JK Rowling likes her- quite frankly her opinion on things has dimmed through the years (did you not forget who was responsible for killing off DUMBLEDORE and SIRIUS??!!) It's my opinion and please don't say that I'm 'jealous' or any of that stuff because its, once again, MY opinion. Ammendment numero uno baby.

She doesn't look like a Luna. Luna is suppossed to look kinda wierd and have a wierd look to her but Evanna doesn't have that "Luna" feel!! Over all I think she is not right for this part in Harry Potter movie!! Anyone agree???

Okay, well for you two that have posted before me I would just like to say, You haven't seen her act yet, so you don't know if she is "Luna" or not. You should wait until you see the movie before you go knocking her, you don't know how she acts. Maybe she is weird. You don't know...so just wait.

I don't get it - why are people so opposed to Evanna Lynch as Luna?
Now I've only ever seen her in interviews, but she seems really enthusiatic and a perfect choice. I'd imagined Luna as looking slightly different, but when you see Evanna it just somehow works. She has that kinda Luna look in here eyes.
But it's her personality that is the clincher in my eyes. She acts and sounds just like you'd imagine Luna Lovegood - it's uncanny!
Give her a chance - she'll do great.

Luna Lovegood has come straight out of her mind, she is her creation - she is the one person on the earth who knows exactly what Luna is like. The rest of us can only interperate it as we see fit. You say that 'her opinion on things has dimmed over the years' - but in her world, Harry Potter's world, her opinion is everything.

Actually, she doesn't it look much like of what I imagine, but I believe she's ok, although it is necessary to see firstly she acts, or not? ... but let's say that the casting directors doesn't do a very good job since the previous movie ... bad elections were:

Cedric, Fleur, Krum, Cho Chang...

i wouldnt say that she is perfect for the part, but she is pretty much what i imagined luna would look like. i guess we wont really know until we see how she acts. i always imagine the characters differently to the way they are portrayed in the movies.

Evanna sent the casting-directors a video of her acting a part in the book bits of it was showen on the irish news (im from ireland) and she seemed good she might not look like her but she acts like her.There for i like her

ok from what i have seen of her I really don't like her. She just doesn't ahve that Luna type look. But iguess that she will have to do.

I was really surpassed when she got the part. Shes a big harry potter fan though, which is a good thing because she will better understand the characters. I'm sure they will make her look a lot more like luna through. Maybe they will curl her hair and make it a bit darker or something.

But we cant pass judgements. The movie hasn't come out yet and neither has the trailer. We have only seen a few pictures of her and don't know if she has any good acting ability.

But I'm sure we don't have to worry about that. Evanna beat out so many other people who could have been cast as luna. Luna is a strong and important character, they need to make good choices so they probably thought her through very carefully.

She isn't exactly what i pictured in my head when i read the books but, i think that she is ok.I think she will do a good job at the part(hopefully).I agee with harry4me we really cant pass judgements yet we will just have to wait and see if she does a good job on OOTP.

I think she has the perfect look for Luna. But I also think there are more important things than how people look. Remember that Evanna is actually a HP fan, so she is likely to know about the character she is playing, unlike a certain Michael Gambon (who I happen to think LOOKS very close to how I had imagined Dumbledore, and look how he has butchered that role!)

I think we just shouldn't judge her on how she 'Looks' but how her personality put an impact on Luna's. Personaly i havn't even voted on this, but from what i've read in her interviews, Evanna has really suprised me all the same. She does seems to know a lot about Luna's personality and beliefs very well all that's left to see is how she "Portrays" her charecter in the films. I can only hope she succeed and wish her best of luck! So yeah i would advise others to keep their critism to themselves...

OMG! They picked the perfect match. I can't wait to see the kissing scene during Christmas. I bet it will be fun to watch. I wonder how Daniel Radcliffe will react.

I think Evanna is a good Luna, but I can't be sure until I see her playing the part in the movie. She fits the basic needs for Luna, but the personality she brings to the screen is another thing.

So far (after seeing pictures and her interview) I think she's a perfect Luna. She's exactly what I imagined Luna would look like. But then again my opinion could totally change about her after I see the movie(since we've never seen her act before). but for now, to me, she's perfect.

I saw Evanna's picture on the internet. She is exactly what I expected for Luna to look like. I can't wait to see her in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phonix. It will be interesting to see what kind of actress she is.

i picked She's absolutely PERFECT!! There's not a better Luna out there! because i always thought luna would be pretty and a little bit out of there. and Evanna Lynch is pretty i love her, and it looks like she can be a little bit out there is she wants too be. but yeah she is awesome

Luna doesn't lok quite how I imagined her I thought she would look more like gretchen out of Recess you know the disney cartoon but then that was my warped mind.

I've only seen a couple of short interviews and of course the pictures that has been released.

Then of course it was Evanna saying about how she felt to be picked to play Luna. She wasn't in character.

I think everyone should give her a chance and wait until we have seen her in the film. In character dressed in spectre specks and wearing her raddish earings before she is judged.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

I agree, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Stan (the guy who plays Krum), thinking, that's who will be playing him! But I was pleasently surprised, I think the casting has been very good, I trust David and all those other guys to make a good chocie.

I was expecting a girl that was a little bit more nerdy, but I like her all the same. I hope that she turns out to be really good. But, whether she is good or not, she better be in HBP, because they already gave Dobby the axe, so it could happen. Grrr

strangely enough, Evanna kind of looks like how I imagined Luna would. I'm not going to vote in the poll until I see the movie, until I see how well she plays the part, because that's what's really important. Luna is my favourite character so I'm hoping she will play it well, and I hope we see her a lot in the film too

Actually no, the Luna I pictured was really different than what Evanna looks like. But I really can't fully answer your question until the movie comes out. Because I'm usually really bad at this "guess who is gonna be a good actor" thing. And I can't really tell by her picture, but I'm sure she'll be great!

I did picture Luna completely different. I thought of Luna as a girl who was pretty but VERY geeky. This chick is extremely cute, but does not have the Luna vibe that I thought would accompany the actress that would get the role.

I saw that interview with her and Emma and Dan both said that "she is Luna," I trust them to make that kind of statement and I know have high hopes that Evanna will do a good job.

Well, I imagined Luna a bit diferent, but everybody imagines each character in their own way. It's impossible to please everybody. I will just can tell you if Evanna is a good Luna when I see her acting!

I imagined her much more spacy and nerdy but Evanna works I guess, altough the true test will be in how she appears in the movie right?

Perfect. She's got amazing voice - almost like a ghost, very otherworldly. I love her hair, it's canon and beatiful. What else - I love that she's a huge HP fan, I love the was she calmly talks like she was somewhere else. Perfect, just perfect.

I think that Evanna is ok , but not really how I imagined Luna to be , but of course, lots of things wern't becuase our imaginations are all different when we read the books

Evanna Lynch is absolutely perfect. She is GREAT! They couldn't have found a better Luna. She's awesome.

She didn't look like what I pictured but we haven't seen the movie so maybe she mite bring something new to the table.

i think shes going to be great...i imagined luna to look something like that. no offense..but her look is like...a cross between "spooky/...i can't even describe it HAHAHAHHAH...i just think she'll do great. even JK said she was impressed by Evanna Lynch.

She doesn't look exactly like I imagined but she doesn't look bad. She's got a very high, sweet, kind of weird voice.
We'll just have to see how she acts. In the cut I saw of her I think she had her butterbeer necklace.
I've seen pictures of her with a scar drawn on her forehead at the Midnight Magic parties so I'm assuming she likes HP.

I believe Evanna Lynch is the best one for the part. She has that big round eyed stare about her. But no one can judge her until they have seen the movie. She looks just they way I imagined.

I voted only 'ok' on this one. When I first saw her I really thought...that's not Luna! But she's growing on me and I can't wait to see her in the movie, that's really the only time you can judge. I'm hoping once I've seen her on screen there will be no better Luna out there for me.

She's OK when you look at the pictures... Although slightly too blonde. But anyway, her eyes and the whole look of her is fine according to me. I just hope she has the acting skills to add to that! Luna's one of my favourite characters , so lets hope Evanna brings her to life!

I'm wondering whether some of the people who think she isn't Luna-ish saw the pictures of her where she's acting Luna. I saw one picture where she's just herself, and there she definitely looks normal. However, I saw some where she was already acting, and there I think she was perfect. Her eyelids were lowered just a fraction of an inch more so that she looked more out-there, her hair was hanging out of her elastic, and she had a tiny smile like the ones you sometimes see in cartoons when a person is sleepy/daydreaming/spacey. Isn't that what she's supposed to be like? Also, I heard her voice in an interview, and it was also all daydreamy. Like, it was a lot softer than, say, Hermione's voice, and just a bit slower than most voices, as well as calmer. I think she's perfect.

i think she'll do ok, but in my imagination luna was MUCH more ecentric-looking and i think evanna lynch is too normal.

At first when i saw her, i didnt think she was a good fit. I was emagining someone totally different. But then i relized that the pictures i saw of her werent when she was acting. When shes acting she seems to have captured that lunaness, though i cant completly decide how i feel about her untill i see her the movie.

Well, I think Evanna's the perfect Luna they could find. I mean, her voice really is dreamy...kind of wierd (er, no offense). And she's even got a dreamy lost look in the trailers, she's actually Luna.

When i first saw the picture of Luna, i thought she wasn't right. I thought she might be a bit (err... sorry Evanna) prettier. And less..well pale. But she's okay, i guess. I thought she might be more quirky, but she does the dreamy really well. I'm sure she'll be great in the movie, though.

I happen to like Evanna. I think that she captures in my opinion what Luna would look like. She just has this quality about her that is weird and different, and in my mind this is exactly how I pictured Luna as I was reading.

The first time I saw Evanna.... I was a bit like, "Nah! She doesn't look like I imagined her one bit!" Her hair was too white blonde and she was a bit curvy, shall we say.Only in her face though.. SHE'S NOT FAT! OK??? DON'T GET ME WRONG. Anyhoo.. I thought her eyes were perfect.. Big, round, curious and wise... and the color blue of course... I wasn't really satisfied.. she reminded me of a blonde-bombshell. But I had this feeling she would act really well.

And then, when I saw the teaser-trailers of OOTP and the behind-the-scenes clips I knew she was THE ONE. The perfect Luna. She was more slender and her hair was long and scraggly... not as much the dirtier blonde look I would have liked, but it was better than before. With those huge magnificent eyes and her voice (has anyone heard how soft and girly and dreamy it is? quite sweet!) she just looked great!

She does have the luna look but her voice is VERY british. I know i know that the actors have to be british but only 2 actors have had a major british accent. 1 being luna and 2 being seamus. But ive seen a 30 second preveiw of her acting and it is pretty good though her voice is really calm

I think she is perfect for the role! It's her eyes I think they are big and dreamy lol I don't know she kinda has this thing about her. Her voice is really dreamy too. when I read the books I thought she'd look a bit odd but I think she'll do fine.... I just hope she can act !!

i dont like her as Luna at ALL......i expected her more frail looking and a less chubby face...............she doesnt at all have that dreamy quality stated in the books.

i think she's perfect for the job! she looks like i thought luna would! her eyes have a dreamy look about them and the voice well it's a bit to hight pitched but other than that she's perfect for the job!

Evanna has huge eyes, that they got right. But I never pictured Luna as a blonde. Never. i think that having blonde hair detracts from Luna's personality, but whatever. I hope they dye it or something.
But other than her hair, I think she could pull it off.

I've always pictured Luna blonde. Wasn't it described that way in the books? But anyways, I didn't exactly picture her to look like Evanna Lynch does, but I think that she can play the character alright. I expected Luna to look "weirder" and she just looked sort of normal. But after seeing her act, I see that looks are always deceiving. I never thought that the actors that played Sirius or Lupin would be good enough, but they turned out okay, and I believe that she will too.
