Lupin will probably die....I mean Worntail, silver hand....A + B = C ( even though I am absolutley against it).
Dumbledore is a also a given...he can't be around forever to protect Harry.
If any Weasley is going to die...my vote is for Percy (sorry I know that is kinda evil)

Bellatrix Lestrange at the hand of Neville would be a nice addition. And I wouldn't mind Lucius being killed by Draco ( sounds like a bad soap)

Mad Eye Moody will be the next to go -- as a character, he has run his course. I voted for DD in this thread, because I believe he will be killed in a later book. Thisis a war, after all. Also dying:

then i think wormtail will die because he would save harry since harry let me live......

I don't think Lupin is going to die. Yes, he can be the next father figure that Harry looks up to (he does already sort of, but more this time), and that Voldemort has a thing of killing off almost anyone that tries to protect Harry and almost anyone who he loves. BUT not many people know about him. They know that he exists, but not where people actually acknowlegde his presense. This makes it seem like he wouldn't stick out for Voldemort to see him, and have a chance to kill him. Just a guess...I'm a proud SPELL member so I doubt Lupin will die for these reasons, lol.

Honestly if Ron died I'm not sure how muc of a fan I would be of JKR anymore. Since Ron is my favorite character and I couldn't imagine him not being there ever. I'm not sure if I'd ever read the books again.

Yeah, but that's where JKR is clever really, isn't it? She can kill off whomever she liked in the final book and it won't matter because we'll have bought all the books by then! I do think that would be something of a slap in the face to all her dedicated fans out there though, but I'm sure she won't kill off anyone just for the sake of it. As long as whoever it is dies heroically (and there will be more deaths, unfortunately...'cos this is a war...) then I guess I'll be okay with it....

Ok. Just so you know. Hermione is not my favourite character. But to view someone with a deathwish is sort of morbid.

Please remember that for some people Hermione is their favourite character. (For example - Steve Kloves. The person who writes the movie scripts)

I don't know, I never thought about Hagrid dying. He's so sweet that I couldn't imagine him dying at all. I'd be really sad, but if that was who JKR wanted to kill off then oh well.

Hmm. Well, I think all the deaths in the previous books helped move the plot forward, so it is likely that that will be the case in the next two.

Unfortunately I think this means the end of Dumbledore. If Rowling wants to make the situation in the wizarding world even worse than it is now, the best way to do it would be remove the only guy Voldemort was ever afraid of.

The Aurors' job has just become even more dangerous, so either Tonks or Shacklebolt dying would be my bet (more likely Tonks, which is too bad because I like her).

The most likely candidates from the Order are probably gonna be Mad-Eye, DD (I think this is really likely), Mundungus and possibly, right at the end, Snape. (Notice how I haven't mentioned a particular person... ...wonder how he could have slipped my mind?.. )

Ron's odds are a little lower than Hagrid's, I think.....he'll probably get it trying to save Hermione or something....

As for Harry.....50/50 at best, I reckon.....although whether or not the phoenix connections are a foreshadowing of his Robert Patrick, T-1000-like resurrection is a matter for debate....

I think Harry would live because him dying would be a great disappointment. But, then again it is the only way to make sure there can't be a sequel.

Hermione/Ron - they come under the same chances. I believe that if one of the trio goes then they all will. Too many loose strings if only one-two of them live.

The teachers -they have the same odds. Perhaps McGonnagall, Trelawney? and Dumbledore.

Snape won't die because he is too devious and evil.

Mr. and Mrs Weasley. I stumbled across something about them dying but I don't really believe it.

Kingsley and Tonks? Tonks won't die because she is too cool.

Kingsley is probably too clever.

Mad-Eye Moody? He is probably a chance -he's old and paraniod. If he stayed he is probably a hinderance.

I think there will be a lot of deaths in early book seven.

If they are too late specualtion on their deaths could spark a sequel and that is NOT where she wants to go. But some people to put it plainly have to die.

I agree that Dumbledore will die as well. Just 'cause the wise old wizard always dies just when the hero thinks he needs him most, but in reality the hero is ready and his last test must be done without the WOW. You know, like with Obi-Wan Kenobi?

I don'tt think she's goping to kill all the weasleys. I think she's going to kill ron. First, Ron and hermione are going steady, the he dies. and harry and hermione are alone...

I think the main characters (or well established ones) won't die. Yet. Perhaps Wormtail and Kreacher? They deserve to die. Don't they. The little snotrags. -Thats my new favourite term for them.

I think that it would be really weird if one of the trio to die. It is one or all of them.

For example, If Harry and Voldemort kill each other at the same time. (Pretty likely I think.) Perhaps Ron and Hermione will get murdered by death eaters.

I'm thinking along the same lines as most of you about a lot of Death Eaters and Order members dying. I also think that Dumbledore will die for the same reasons that BellatrixBlack said: It's always making references to how old and tired he looks. I think both Harry and Voldemort are going to die in the final battle (I know, I know, it's harsh, but I think it just has to happen). I'm thinking that maybe a Weasley will die (probably Bill, Percy, or Charlie), and probably Wormtail and Lupin too (I can't stand the thought of Lupin dying, but that way all of the Marauders would be dead). I think that it would be awsome if Harry and Neville sort of teamed up together to get Bellatrix.

Actually, I don't seriously think any of the trio would be killed, neither in HBP or Book 7. And if Harry dies, imagine what would happen. After all, he's Voldermort's equal, and only he can kill Voldermort. So Harry would not die. (And hasn't JKR said anything about him living till Book 7?)

No! Lupin can't die. I hope Wormtail dies. He is such a rotten dirty little rat. I think Harry will live. Voldemort can't obviously live unless there is an 8th book. Which is highly unlikely But that's ok. I still have two books of pure enjoyment.

Think about this pragmatically. Losing Lupin would mean Harry loses the last link to his father. So less ways to find out stuff that went on in the past.
--Neither Ron, Hermione, or Harry are going to die. JK Rowling's smart enuf to know that killing off any of them would turn away fans.
--Hagrid's also impossible b/c he hasn't been huge (not in the literal sense).
--Dumbledore can't die in the sixth book. Maybe in seventh. W/out him, the wizarding world=havoc.
--Wormtail won't die yet b/c of the debt he has to repay to Harry. Bellatrix will die, but in the seventh by Neville.
------So who will? My bet is one of the older Weasleys. Probably not Percy; he's too problematic and interesting. McGonagall can't die; she's one of my faves. It's probably an adult and not a student.

Well, we could all that stuff out either before Lupin died or from Snape or DD. So, it doesn't really rule out Lupin's death.

i read this theory that all the marauders will die in the end. lupin will die in book six, and wormtail in book seven. i kind off believe that theory. but dont get me wrong, i like lupin a lot, it just i believe that he might die next, or soon.

Meh. All this speculating makes us get too anxious.

The marauders could die eventually. It makes sense. Luna won't die. She hasn't made that much of a connection w/ the characters yet, so her death may not be too monumental. I think Umbridge will turn up like Lockhart - in a hospital (we may wish she was dead).

You know, one of us has to be right. We've named all of the characters in the books.

Hello all. Here is how I see life and death the rest of the way. People not listed are still undecided in my mind. If any of these don't happen this way they are here I would be shocked.

Dumbledore (lives): Honestly there is no reason for him to die. He is already an elderly character, so letting him die of old age is a better thing to do. Also think this: He is 'all powerful' in a way. Having him live til he dies of old age lets him live with his failures (which will come) and make him more human.

McGonagall (lives): I would not be surprised if the story goes full circle and McGonagall and Dumbledore are standing on Privot Drive at the very end.

Hagrid (dies): Unfortunatly, he does dumb stuff. His affinity for danger will get him killed.

Mad-Eye (dies): Only fitting for him to fall in battle towards the very end.

Trelawney (dies): In an effort not to spoil see the end of the Order.

Fleur (lives): She comes back and plays a major role in the rest of the saga. Informant role more than likly.

Fred / George (One lives one dies): Splitting up twins is a tragic thing, but it will be nessessary for the completeness of the story.

Dobby (dies): He will die at the hand of his former master after he interferes with Harry's affairs one too many times.

Aunt Petunia (dies): In an effort not to spoil see the end of the Order.

Cornelius Fudge (lives): He is nothing more than a figure head, no need for him to die. Actaully it would be more poetic for a politition to live and not get involved.

Ron / Hermione (lives): They, of course, will be together and live long lives (even though they will struggle to keep the 'dark side' from reigning). They are parallel to Arthur and Molly.

Arthur / Molly (lives): As Ron and Hermione live they should too.

Draco (lives): He is a bad charcter only in his actions. I can forsee him not being as evil as his father, and eventually helping Harry because he knows in his heart what the right thing is to do.

Lucious (dies): He will be the last death before Voldemort goes down. He is like the boss before the final boss in an RPG.

Harry / Voldemort (dies): They must BOTH die to be poetic. They are in fact the same person as far as thier character. They are connected in more ways than one. For one to die, they other must also. Or of course they both live.

Wormtail (lives): He is the rat, he has cheated death before he will cheat it again. He is like the Thenardier (see Les Miserables) for the Harry Potter Series.

And, I am pretty sure that someone will 'return' and will be bad and will eventually be 're-killed' by Harry. I'd expain more, but i don't like spoiling.

Other Predictions:
One of the big four (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville) will turn evil, per the parallel of the Mauraders. Seeing as I think Ron and Hermione will end up together I will have to guess on Neville seeing as i'm out of options there.

Here's what I think. Lupin will be killed by Wormtail when he gets close to Harry, a bunch of order members will die, (ones we know and don't know) Ron, (that chess thing in SS was symbolism I believe. Sirius being the black knight that was killed by the white queen.(Bellatrix)) another Weasley before Ron, and just maybe Dumbledore. Voldy hates him too much to let him live for 2 more books.

Ok. ic0n67 we get the point about your opinion on Hermione and Ron! Please move it over to the ships threads... Apart from that you made a few good points. Typically because of my adoration for the characters I am reluctant to agree. But it will most likely happen..

I really don't think Ron will die. Honestly I don't. And if he did I swear I would be throwing that book on the floor, and that's saying something because I treat those books like glass or a baby; with great care. I love them, but if Ron died, I wouldn't be able to control myself, I'd throw the book as far from me as I could, so I really hope Ron doesn't die. lol.

But yeah I think most of the DE will die.
