Full Version: The Rubbish Bin - General discussion and Clues
I like the new bin, but has anyone seen the marble ball near the F.A.Q.?????????????? What's up with that???
Yeah, I noticed that was new too. I've tried clicking on it or moving it, but I don't think, if it is going to be a link, that it's active yet. Maybe it's just something that means something personal to JKR for some reason...there's lots of little things like that all over the site - like her notes pinned to the corkboard, for example. **shrugs** Who knows? Maybe it's supposed to be a Gobstone...they're kind of like marbles, aren't they?
Wait for Peeves to come by, and when he does, the marble will glow. Click on the marble as it is glowing and you'll get another thing for your scrapbook. Be ready though, the marble starts to glow THEN you hear Peeves. You have approx. four or five seconds.
when exactly does peeves come. is it every once ina while. cause he hasnt come yet... 
If you're talking about the marble, then I think you might be out of luck there, I'm sorry. The marble doesn't appear to be on the desktop anymore.
Peeves still comes by, as far as I know, but it does take quite a while...a few minutes at least. I'm sure that the easter egg hidden with the marble has been listed somewhere on the mian Veritaserum site, if you want to take a look. I think it was a sketch from what I remember, but don't quote me on that.
As for the bin, that's working just fine - or at least it was the last time I visited the site. There's info listed on the main site about how to get at the other easter eggs.
Let me know if you can't find them.

On the front desk page Peeves comes by about every 6 minutes that you are idle but its different times for the other pages (I have no patientice to wait for Peeves, I only know about the 6 min. thing because someone told me that when we were talking abou thte easter eggs)
The marble is still there, but if you've already clicked it when the flying thing appears (is it Peeves I'd assumed it was a doxy or something) it won't glow blue anymore when they next appear.

Are you trying to say that you've never seen the marble on the front page before?(I'm sorry if you've stated otherwise on previous post, cause I haven't read them yet...
)Anyway, have you got all four easter eggs before they added the new three? Cause I think, if you haven't, maybe you have to find the previous four first before the marble comes out... I dunno, I think maybe it work that way...
After Peeves comes by and you click on the marble, it's gone...and you'll receive the easter award...

So, since I have quite some moments to spend now, I've just been to JKRowling.com and check it myself. I'm using soneone else's compy so the site did not recognised me and provide links to rewards in my scrapbook...so...Okay, I still see the marble there alright and I've waited (very impatiently
) for Peeves to comes out. He did, several minutes later and I've clicked on the marble and receive my rewards. So, I take back my words on having to find the first four easter in order to get the other new three...sorry again! It works just fine with the marble and all...hmm...so, not sure why you can't see it. Are you sure you haven't click it before? Someone else using your compy maybe, had clicked it before?? I dunno...sorry, I don't seems to help much!!
Ah, that explains it then....the marble is only there if you haven't already clicked on it. Once you've received the easter egg it was hiding, the marble disappears....

i was just wondering if anyone found any clues in the rubbish bin...do you think the letter blocks stand for something? how about the paper in the corner which i believe says harry and hermione - someone then sirus black then under that hagrid? i wonder what that means...if its a hint or just another red herring? or do you think that becuase its the 'rubbish' bin that it has no meaning?

Well, considering that one of them is purple, the color of royalty, and has an "F" on it, I'd say there's a chance that a certain magical bird could be connected to the HBP.
or maybe its Fred Weasley, Cornelious Fudge, Argus Filtch, Prof. Flitwick, Seamus Finigan, Justin Finch-Fletchly, or Fluer Delaclour. A Purple 'F' doesnt mean anything..and if it does - it could be any of them above...not just Fawkes...
The F could also stand for Felix Felices (sp?)

Ok, when you crack the pen open over the blank peice of paper, there are three things you need to collect. I can't tell what the first thing is. What is it?
i forget...i did ALL the things a long time ago so i cant remember..what shpae does it look like?
It is five lines of different size grouped together, kinda at a slant

yes I just checked and the things are in extra stuff...they and kind of under another picture so you may have to look for them...they are near the picture of the dog as Ash has said

What do you mean by that? What pen, there are three pens in there. I am so confused.
if you click on the pen in the rubbish room that is on the left hand side...(click near the middle of the pen) it will break and it will reveal some things you can look for on the site that will give you a special prize...I dont want to reveal too much because thats no fun
Thanks. It worked. I had tried clicking on it before but not in the middle. I found all the things and got the prize.

I'm aware that the phone number works... I just wanna know where he found it. I've been searching all over for a number to call.
Though also, it seems calls occasionally come in as well. Last night at around 3 or 4 in the morning, a call came in and I answered it to hear (who I would assume) is JK Rowling. Obviously not actually calling, but the recording was cool enough to listen to.

In the rubbish bin has anyone else been able to find the 3 clues to find a new easter egg i can only find 2 someone help me please i cant find the middle object on the paper when u break the pen. . .

I also have been trying to figure out what the words do, but I am having no such luck. I must have clicked on ever thing in the rubbishbin a thousand times and there is still nothing new popping up. If anyone knows what to do, please let us know.

The answer is "Here I am no ring within, tap five times and you get in". It refers to a box where the trophies are...its on the right side. Click it five times and you get a prize (another document of sorts).

Ugh, I clicked on that box like twice when I was trying to find something else in that room at moved. Hey, at least I was close with the translation. Only got a few words muddled.

I can't drag anything and everytime I click an ingredient, it never does anyhting. I know where everything is by finding out from other people but I can't do anything. I can do the cell phone thing and I found the potion recipe in the bin and I found the scrapbook entry in the fan sites or wherever it was in the that little box but other than that, I've tried to drag and I've tried to get the ingredients. I can't do it and it's [Mod Edit]! I don't know if it's my computer or something but please help me.Mod Edit: There is no need for that language. And typing in all Caps is considered yelling.
