I Hey I made this topic to hear what's your opinion about who's going to die...I really think don't think that Neville will die... I think that J.K. Rowling put that to make us think that he's probably voldemort's... o sorry... he-who-must-not-be-named menace, probably it's just to make a turn in the end...but well, we now have to wait until read and confirm.
The character I really think it's going to die is Harry.
And I don't know what to write now ... I hate to be uninspire.... haha...

i dont know. it would be a cool turn in the end of the book. would it be where harry died and neville retailiated in anger and killed him?

I don't think that Neville is going to be murdered... I mean he's a very importante character in the book and so and, like aurorgirl said, it would be a turn in the end, but I think that another role waits Neville! Don't forget that the prophecy was interrupted before Trelawney could end it... So, let's wait and see!

P.S.: I love Neville and I trully hope that he won't die!

I think that Neville may be hurt in the battle but will survive and avenge his parents.

After the war he may become Herbology teacher at Hogwarts, and live to a ripe old age.
He'll probably marry a pretty witch and have a large group of children.

Yeah...it would be cool that Neville kills Bellatrix. Avenging his parents.

yeh i hope neville gets revenge on bellatrix for what she did to his parents and harry will get voldemort for what he did to harrys parents

And I'm not all that sure if I want Neville to die, but i kinda do. I mean, he dies byt the Dark Lord or even Bellatrix's hand, you know because he's so overcome with revenge, and then harry, who's like thuroughly really not happy (sorry, that got edited, and i posted before thinking cause I'm not too with it today)cthat one of his friends just died mercilessly, take on his killer, and from there, that goes into my Harry or the Dark Lord suceed thing. You know what, for the millionth time I'm going to say that I should go make a post about what the War should be called, and if it truely is a war, but I'll just do that right now. So, it can't be a nice pretty name for a les violent war, like the War of the Roses, and we've already got the War on Terrorism going on here (even though according to "The Art of War" terrorism is a part of war, but I won't get into that here), and, lets see, we basically have to come up with something cool that hasn't been used before. Well, the War for Middle Earth is out of the Question, the War to End All Wars is also out. My comp is working now, you can stop being on alert. So, I've come up with one, and its not pretty, but here we go. The War of the Worlds (wait, that's already been taken too!). These are the Dark Ages (again), so this war should be called, the War of... Ok, I don't know, anybody else got any ideas? So, Neville should like maybe die in the War thingy, and I'm having conflicting emotions about his death foretold. That basicaly summarizes everything I just said, doesn't it?

i really hope he doesnt he's one of my favorate characters, and i dont think he will he might get hurt and then get up and kill belaltrix(he might be able to kill because of his anger).

Don't get me wrong, I love Neville. But I could see him as being one of the two who Jo killed that she didn't think she would. It makes sense, becuase his death would definately hurt Harry, and I imagine it would tie in with the prophecy. Neville is what I like to call and upper middle charecter. He is not one of the main charecters, but he is definately important. Jo said that they wouldnt kill of extra's, and Neville isn't exactly an Extra. He will get involved in the war, for his parents, and also to prove to everyone that he really isn't as terrible at magic as everyone makes him out to be. In the fifth book, during the DA meetings, it said that the only person who mastered sheild charms faster than Hermione was Neville. He definately will play a big role in the final battle, and I can envision him, maybe not killing Bellatrix, because I think Neville is just too innocent to do something that evil, even for revenge, but helping in some way to put an end to Bellitrix, and also saving Harry's Life and dying in the process. As much as I would hate to see him die, I think it is definately a possibility.

I don't think Neville is gonna die.But he is definetly gonna prove himself to his granny.He is gonna fight Death Eaters and gonna become an Auror just like his parents.

It Doesnt seem likely to me that Neville will become an aurorer. That doesnt seem like something Jo would write. He may have been imporving, but not enough to become an aurorer. Neville is just to clumsy and although he is talented in some ways, it seems more likely to me that he would become the Herbology teacher, assuming he lives.

I dont want Neville to die. I think everyone has a soft spot for Neville.

He has to have the chance to prove himself.

i think that neville will die towards the end of the book. i assume it will be to save ginny or harry. i think he has a crush on ginny...HBP didnt say anything about neville after harry and ginny got together...anyways he will die a heroic death.

I hope to see Harry help Neville get revenge for his parents. I don't think he'll die, but like someone said earlier, I think he might get hurt during a battle. I've also thought what if Neville finds out what Harry, Ron and Hermione plan to do in the future and decides to tag along with them so he can get revenge? I don't think his gran would be too happy about him not going back to school to hunt down Dark Wizards I hope Neville doesn't die though, that would make for a sad, sad story

No i dont think Neville will die, not to be mean, but he isnt that important of a character and JK said only two people will die. And i dont beleve she would have Neville die just because it wouldnt be as much of a dramatic effect. The only way i can see Neville dying is if he is fighting Bella to revenge his parents, and he dies while fighting her.

Eh, somehow I don't see Neville dying. Like a couple others have said though, I would like to see him avenge Bellatrix for what she did to his parents. He may get injured, but I think he will survive. And Rowling says one of them will become a Hogwarts teacher - I think it'll be Neville, lol.

i think neville will die a heroic death. but before that happens he will kill bellatrix and then voldemort kills him to cause agony to harry. as a result, his grandma will be proud of him and so on.

Aww, it would really be so sad if Neville died. He has soo much to prove and he doesn't deserve it. If he does though, I hope he dies heroically with the defeat of Bellatrix to avenge his parents. I wonder, if his parents found out that he died, would it affect them?

I don't think that Neville will die. He is a huge character and all, but I don't think that it would have an over-whelming effect on the readers. I might be wrong, but personally, I don't think it's going to happen. If any of the main characters are going to die, it'll definatley be one or more members of the trio.

If he does die though, I agree with UnknownLocket, he should die heroically, fighting Bellatrix. That would be a good death for him.

It's really difficult to aswer. I'm sure about Neville isn't insignificant. I think he will have a totally important perform in the end, no metter dead or alive. Neville is more than a shy guy!

We all love Neville!! And none of us want him to die of course but someone has to pay the death toll...

you know i think that luna will die out of the two that are going to die. please don't dis this till you read my reasons! do you remember how harry and luna went to the slug club party and then malfoy was there ( now harry said they wore just friends!) and i beleive that he got the wrong inpresion of this and think that they like each other. and we all know that malfoy is a death eater so could he tell it to the dark lord?

that could be possible that Luna might die. but if she were to be killed out of the series i dont really think it would be because she's "in love" with Harry Potter.

Good question. I agree with slytherin_xo, if she does die it won't be for love. But I don't think she will die if she keeps the same importance to the story, which isn't all that much; so she will have to have a much greater roll in order for this to occur.

I dont think she will die, She came into the story fast and left it right away, kinda droll. But JK did that to Cedric so who knows what she is planning.

Well, if Draco would tell Voldemort about Luna, then surely he would tell him about Harry and Ginny. I mean, they were publically established as a "relationship" and Harry and luna were just friends. No emotonal attachment at all. So, if we are going by Harry's supposed girlfriends, between the two, Ginny has a greater risk of dying.

And Felix2090, you say that not many people are emotionally attched to Luna (though I am), but not many were emotionally attched to Cedric either, yet he died. So, JKR could pretty much kill off anyone she feels like, whether the readers love them or not.

I agree if Luna dies it wouldn't be because she likes Harry, but potter's_gurl didn't say that. I also agree with UnknownLocket that Ginny has a better chance of dieing because Harry likes her.
I'd like to point out I like Luna a lot and would be upset if she were to die.
I think if she were to die it would be because she was fighting a Death Eater or even Voldemort.
Luna is a cool character and I doubt she would die to early in the book, maybe toward the middle or end.

I agree with Felix2090, Luna doesn't have a big role in the book, plus she's just to weird to be killed off The only way I think she would die in the 7th would be in one of the huge duels, like in the 5th book in MoM.

I have to agree wtih UnknownLocket: Rowling doesn't kill people just because we are emotionally attached to people. I could name a whole load of people who died and nobody was emotionally attached to them: Quirell, Cedric, the whole Riddle family... I could go on for ages. And besides, I know lots of people who are emotionally attached to Luna. Like me. Her insaneness is catchy.
Anyway, I have a feeling she will die. The way she keeps her cool during a battle... it'll catch up with her someday. Or maybe she'll get mauled by a Crumple-Horned Snorkack. Who knows?

Ach! All these topics predicting my favorite character's s! But seriously, I don't know. It's possible I suppose. I think Malfoy would want more concrete evidence to tell Voldemort who Harry loves. Personally, I think Luna will either a) give Harry immense help/play a significant role in defeating Voldemort or die because she is rather flighty and carefree. I sincerely hope the former because I love Luna and don't want her to die!

I don't think it will have anything to do with the prophecy. However, I do think it is a possiblity for Neville to die. I hope he doesn't, but it would make sense. If he does die, it won't be in vein.

Neville and Lestrange are duelling and Lestrange is about to finish him off but then somehow Nevilles parents are 'awoken' and they both come and save Neville and kill Lestrange!

I think that Luna is a very good character and I like her and all. However, I don't think she's important enough to die. She did fight in the DoM, but even there, her part wasn't major. Not that many people would be sad if she died. Harry and Neville and Ron and maybe Hermione, a bit. But that's it. The reason JKR has people die is because she needs sacrifices. She can't just have Voldemort die with nobody else injured. Luna just wouldn't be a big enough sacrifice. I feel safe in saying that she will survive ( )!

I think that Luna will fight in the final battle. She was a member of the DA (Dumbledore's Army.) I think that some of the members of the DA will fight in the battle. So there is a huge chance that she could be killed, I think she wouldn't mind sacrificing herself either. She seems a very brave person.

I think if Luna does die it will be fighting but she actually seems quite good - if you remember she was the only one who was unharmed when her ron and ginny were seperated from Harry Nevil and Hermione in OOTP

Another thing i think its really stupid that Harry broke up with Ginny because Snape and Malfoy are going to tell LV about them anyway

I think it is very likely that Neville will want some sort of revenge. This could, however, occur in many different ways. Dumbledore says that there are all kinds of courage. I think Neville could try to gain revenge by doing anything from helping Harry and being a good, supporting friend, all the way up to killing a death eater; however, he doesn't seem like the killing type.

I hope he doesn't die, but it could be important to the plot, if he does. If he does die, it could be in a heroic way, as some other people have said. I think Neville will definitely be an important character.

Anyhow, I would like to say I think that Voldemort will die... obviously

I have a terrible feeling that Harry is going to die... but I have some theories about that, and I may feel better about it. Harry used to be really annoying to me, and still is, but seeing as the books are about him... one does get attached.

I hope Ginny dies.

A few more Order members are most definitely gonna die... I hope Minerva survives, but I think some of the lesser members will fall away.

I hope Dumbledore will come back... and then, if he does.. he can die again, perhaps walking Harry through the Veil... that would be touching.

No matter who dies, I am fully prepared to cry my eyes out. I am a male, yes, but I have no problem releasing the fact thats sad things make me upset. I cried a bit at the end of HBP, my lip quivered and a tear escaped during the GoF movie, not when Cedric died, but when his father broke down the way he did... as well as Dumbledore's speech.

So I am fully prepared to take off work for a few days, retreat to my room, read book 7 seven times, and go through a box of tissues... and post on VTM of course
