it is confirmed that Quidditch will be totally cut out from the film!
It isn't necessary that show the brooms being put in Umbridge's office!!!
They will just take them and leave!!!No change, like nothing happened!

I guess that liberating scene will be cut completely. This is going to be one depressing film without any uplifting moments. But I suppose if it’s not focused on Harry, then it probably won’t exist in the movie.

Well I have to say I am terribly dissapointed with this decision! I mean there is only one Quidditch Match that needs to be shown (When Harry gets suspended)! The whole Grawp thing can be shown a different way entirely. Maybe Ron has to go to the game, and they separate before. No fan would be dissapointed with that I think. And you just know that there going to Hollywood the whole thing! I don't see the whole reason why it had to be cut out for other "things". I'm looking forward to the fight scene at the ministry, yet I have a weird feeling that its going to last a half and hour long! What a waste! I'd like to just send them how I'd want it! Or write it myself. Maybe I'll try to be the writer for Half Blood Prince!!! Then I'd get the job done! Doesn't Rowling have an idea whats needed and not needed? Why doesn't she stand up to these people.

But really to end this post, this is the one movie where Quidditch really really matters (other than the first one)! And to exclude would be horrible!

I"m really depressed that they cut out quidditch, those were some of my favorite scenes in the previous movies. I really wanted to see the fight between Malfoy, Harry, and the Weasleys; also when Harry was banned from playing. I just hope that when the twins leave it is just as exciting as it was in the books.

this is just a right out slap in the face. i mean malfoy getting beat up for running his mouth? who doesn't want to see that, and there is so much witty diolauge about this topic througout the book that is going to obviously be ommited due to quittich being removed, it isnt that i dont understand, but i am a huge quittich fan, i wish it was longer ago, we could have pulled a snakes on a plane, and petitioned for quittich to be put back in.

I personally think that Malfoy is going to get beat up while insulting the Weasley family on school grounds. Perhaps in the same spot that he got turned into a ferret in the last movie, that would be funny. Anyway, no quidditch is going to be a bummer. I mean, what's Hogwarts without Quidditch? However, there was no Quidditch in the last movie so I suppose that won't be too much of a setback...
Anyway, I think that they're going to minimize F&G's parts in this movie. I don't think they're going to make a big deal out of the scene where they take their brooms and fly off. However, I do hope they will include the fireworks, but they can leave out the swamp.

I dont think they will cut it. But JK is cutting it from the 7th book. My friend made her version of the Daily Prophet and found from an offical website that she is cutting it out, but we dont know why yet. Everybody was SO sad when we all found out....

Why she's going to cut out Quidditch? Can you imagine ANYONE playing quidditch while there's a war going on? Think of yourself at hogwarts, knowing harry and his position. would you want to be playing quidditch? could you even concetrate on the sport? jk hasn't said that hogwarts wont be in the 7th book, but their time there if they do go to the school will be very limited.

rupert was a bit diappointed when he found out they were cutting quidditch but he said that in the 6th movie they might HINT at the whole Weasley is Our King thing. so yeah....we might not even see it at all. malfoy can be beat up people just in a different place. i mean when malfoy got turned into a ferret in GoF he was in the school corridor/hallway not outside...i think. and guys....i think fred and george's inventions won't be in the movie. how are they going to explain their inventions when in the past movies the stuff leading up to them making their inventions never showed. I can't stand Quidditch, so I'm really happy, but F&G can still fight with Malfoy, and hate Umbridge, and cause mischief, and fly away without it. They can just summon their brooms, and go when the time comes. Quidditch is boring, and it's not at all important to the main plot. Jo isn't even putting it in the last book, unless it's just mentioned by someone. She already said she wrote her last Quidditch game in HBP

Yes, that's the point! The film makers must know it's not important to the plot, because they've been cutting back on it gradually over the last couple of films. Now they've got to the point where we'll probably get a mention of it and that's it. It's a natural progression as I see it. The world cup was a perfect example of saving time by cutting something you could do without. I'll grant you, it was a bit choppy, but Jo still said she loved the film, so it obviously didn't bother her. Why shoudl it bother me all that much? I want to concentrate on the things that matter to the story.

I have read on the internet that they are not going to cut Quidditch. But if they do the movie will not flow correctly.

In my opinion, they can mention Quidditch but not show it and that will solve all of the problems with the amount of time it takes and how much it costs to film.

i think they should at least show the game where george, harry, and fred get banned. i mean, it is an important match. since harry is banend now, ginny takes his place and i geuss that is a big deal, along with ron joining the team. and in the 6th book, harry becomes captain which is a big deal, and they will have to show that ron and ginny were on the team, so it will confuse people who don't read the books. i don't know if i am making much sense, but i do think that they should at least show that one game of quidditch and mention ron making the team.

I think that they should at the LEAST show two games. THe one where Malfoy's butt gets kicked, and when ginny plays. Harry, fred andGeorge getting banned is an important part of the book. It would be confusing for some things that happe nafter the match. Like fred and george leaving.

i don't know why the quidditch was cut of the fith film, but i think the producers has a lot of scenes to put on it.....
but i've got a question, when we will see the quidditch cup?, because on the third book gryffindor won the cup and cuaron didn't put that part on the film, i don't know when we could see gryffindor wining the cup.
on the fith book, ron was so important to won the cup and harry on the sixth bookl is the captain of gryffindor. in my opinion quidditch is so important as the classes at hogwarts.

I don't see why Quidditch is so important to the plot. Leaving it out won't hurt anything that I can remember. You can get all of the other points across in other ways, like they did with Krum in GoF. You didn't have to see that whole stupid match to see what that character was about. And Quidditch means zilch ot the MAIN Plot, since Jo already said she's written her last Quidditch game. If it isn't going to be in 7, it doesn't need to be stressed at all. A couple of sentences in 5 and 6 can get the message across jast as well as a bunch of special effects can.
Just my honest opinion.

I too am a tad bit disappointed that Quidditch had to be cut out, but I understand the reasoning behind it. I mean, OotP is the longest book so far and there are a number of important points that the director needed to be sure to include. Not to mention the fact that in movies they prolong some of the faster scenes, such as the scene in the DoM. Although it is only a few chapters in the book, it might take up a good 45 minutes when you play the scene out in a movie. I would rather the director include some of the more important aspects of the book into the movie then try and add Quidditch if he feels that it doesn't belong there. I do agree that I thought that Harry, Fred, and George getting suspended from Quidditch and Ron joining the team rather important, but if they don't put Quidditch in the 6th movie then I don't believe it will make much of an impact because then Ron joining the team wont be an issue, and the three were only suspended until Umbridge left so I am not sure it is an essential, that is just my opinion of course.

Oh, they cannot cut such a wonderous visual experience that is Quidditch! *weeps* It cannot be! *stamps foot* It kinda cuts the flow of the film...everything runs in a nice smooth sequencial order, but NO! they had to go screw that up! Just like they did with the World Cup! *grr* blast those infernal...quidditch haters!

Quidditch is Harry's second favorite thing at Hogwarts, right under his friends. I can imagine him playing Quidditch just to ease his life as much as possible. Quidditch makes him feel...uhh...alive? I suppose. And feeling alive is quite important, knowing that you could be Kedavra'd rounding any corner. Being Harry, I mean.

Sadly i have to admit that it will be cut. It is a small plot that is very popular but is a problem because of the time. As someone stated above somewhere, they will most likely just stick it into some converstion about what happened when Harry/Hermione were in the forest. They will most likely just completely skip Harry getting banned because that would cause some BIG problems. I just hope that the main plot wont get screwed up by them trying to get around the Quidditch.

I hope the plot doesn't get screwed up, either, but I think they can manage just fine. It's done, it's over, it's out and we have to live with it. The decision has been made. I'm thrilled. I know some people like it more than I do, and they have my sympathy, but what's done is done, and there is not going to be any Quidditch, unless they change their minds in post-production, which would surprise me...A LOT.

I really want to see the Quidditch games in the fifth movie. The main reason being I wanted to see Ron's time to shine. He's been Harry's sidekick for so long, and I just wanted to see him brake away from that. Become his own person. Another reason is that I wanted to see Malfoy get beat up.
