recently people got to go to EA and see how ootp is going. they found out you play as Harry. and you cant play as Ron and Hermionie anymore. But you get to play as Dumeldore, Siruis, Fred, and George. There is also a explore hogwarts. where you just explore. along with other things. so here just talk about what you think will be included and everything else

wow, a buddy of mine and i have discussed what may be in ootp game. we have suggested playing as dd, sirius, ron, hermione, and the others that were in the ministry during that fray. Also, i think they should include the forbidden forrest scene, when harry and hermione and umgridge go to the centaurs. and, i think near the begining, harry should have to fight off the dementors. also, i would like to see harry doing the da meetings!! oh, and another thing, i would like the spells to be set up like the first 3 games were, you do a challenge, then you get the spell book. spells that should be aquired in this way, should include, summoning spell, full body bind, reducto, impedimenta, stupify, silencio, protego, jelly legs jinx, for ginny, have the bat-bogey hex, and of course, it should include all of the original spells that are in the first 3 games. and, with the summoning charm, i would like to be able to summon all retrievable items!! when we play as dd, it would be nice to have the option to summon fawkes at any time, during the dd/lv duel. also, we should be able to explore the headquarters of the order of the pheonix!! that would be cool in the extreme!!

I love it! Playing as Dumbledore... that's so awesome! Fantastic that they're including the free roam feature again. Being able to explore the headquarters of OOTP, the Ministry of Magic and the Forbidden Forest aswell as Hogwarts would be excellent. How cool would that be

It sounds great at the moment, I'm not sure about playing as Sirius though because he's going to die. I really hope it won't be set up like the Goblet of Fire game because that was really hard to control and confusing. Do you think it will be like PoA where the computer chooses who you'll be, or GoF where you cn choose yourself?

I'm glad you get to play as Sirius but no Ron and Hermione! There can't not let us play as Ron and Hermione because there so involed in the plot. If you can't play as Ron and Hermione, then i don't think that's as good but we'll see.
I hope it will be like POA because i like free roming games. Do you really get to play DD? I mean we'd be able to fight Voldermort.

The main reason I'm looking forward to play the OOTP game is that it will be on the fantastic Nintendo Wii, so I reckon it will be a very nice game indeed, since the Wii controling system depends on waving we might get to wave the wand in a specific way to cast a specific spell and another way to cast another spell.
So it will definetly be a marvellous game.

if ur playing on like 360 you say spells into the headset and the spell is cast. I allways thought this would be cool. I also would like it to really good graphic and one game be online where people from other xbox's walk around hogwarts.

The release date is supposed to be June 26th. I know as soon as I get it in my clutches I'll be too busy to post here. There was an awesome news segment on MTV recently showing the gameplay. I just might spring for a PS3 just for the graphics.

It's been rumored that one of the spells you can use is the Avada K.! Wicked~ Harry the wand whipping killing machine!

Bought it yesterday for PS2 and my right thumb is killing me! You will be casting a variety of spells twirling the right-hand knob. I think it was designed more for Wii users. Didn’t see the A.K. on the list, but it doesn’t mean it’s not there! The focus is definitely on Hogwarts and large amounts of mini-quests. No Bertie Botts!! Instead you get merits for ‘magical encounters’ – Moaning Myrtle will explain that one. The Reward Room has so far delivered an interview clip with Rupert Grint ~ can’t wait to see the rest.

I've got the game for the PSP in German. I like it, but i am stuck somehow.
I've got nearly everything done at Hogwarts. Just Hermine is still saying we need to find all of the members. And I still have three tasks to do which my map is showing me.
One is at the Griffindor Comonroom - I can not talk to anybody there and I don't know what I have to do there.
The other one is at the Library - there is nobody in the library at all. So I don't know what to do there. I've got the one book that you had to follow through the whole library. has it something to do with the book?
And the third task that it's showing on the map is there, were you get the task with the gargoyles. (I didn't find them yet so I think that's the open task there)

And thent there is still the guy in front of the great hall which likes to tread the last 5 cards. I think there is just one missing but I don't know who's gonna trade it with me.

I thought maybe someone here can help me.

What do you find most enticing part about the video game (spell casting, graphics, gameplay, etc.), if anything at all?

My personal favorite is the stunning graphics and detail with whihc Hogwarts was created. EA really did a good job detailing and visually creating the school. The lighting, texture, and attention to minute aspects make the visual side of the gameply more enjoyable. Plus the zero load time throughout the castle is really nice!

Just my thoughts, what are yours?

yea definitey i love the way you can go virtually anywhere in the castle... it gives you a real sense of what it's like... even though its not real realy, I'm sure you know what I mean!

Also I love the way you use your mouse to cast the spells... although sometimes im trying and i really don't know why it's sill not casting right. I'm on a laptop so I've got a mousepad and a proper mouse so I alternate if I can't get it to work on one or the other!!

The onyl thing annoying me at the moment is that my run button won't work. You're apparently supposed to press the UP key whilst walking to make harry run, but mine won't work and pressing UP makes him get his wand out. He did run once, but i'm not sure how, and since then he has only walked. It's heartbreaking lol! Fir instance, having told Ron of the dream about his dad and then I couldn't make Harry run to Dumbledore's office and Ron was going "HURRY UP!" and "I thought you said this was urgent"... I was like... sorry! sorry! sorry! haha... it is annoying though, if you have any ideas of how to make him run aain please let me know!!

hey I just got the game the other day... and I've been playing it pretty much non stop!! I've got it for the PC though, and you're supposed to press UP to make Harry run, but he won't run for me and pressing UP just makes him get his wand out! It's really annoying because I have to walk everywhere and it feels like forever, ad in some places you really need to run, i.e. going with Ron to Dumbledore's office after the dream, and the place I just got to now, running to the castle from Hagrid's Hut after Umbridge has been carted off by the centaurs!

I stopped because I cae online to se if anyone had any suggestions about making him run again, maybe i've just got my mouse settings set up wrong or something because he's supposed ot get his wand out when you click your mouse.

Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

The game is amazing! I finished it this morning. if you need to find people you look for them on the marauders map and when youre looking for them you follow footprints on the floor which lead to the person you are looking for. the portable swamps are awesome! you also get the map in the box when you buy the game. have fun playing it all who get it! =]

Just to let you guys know that I've merged a few different threads that were here discussing the OotP game. We don't need separate ones for each format because essentially all the games are the same anyway.

I quite enjoyed this game, I have to say. The only things that bugged me were the controls which were really sluggish, the Hogwarts students who kept getting in my way when I was wandering around, and Hermione and Ron, who just follow you around like a pair of lemmings...and they keep getting in your way too. Aside from that, the graphics were brilliant and it really allowed you to wander around Hogwarts as none of the previous games have done, and there are different difficulty levels to keep you on your toes. Not bad all in all. Just a shame about the controls.

And I was disappointed with the rewards, actually...I was hoping for clips from the film rather than interviews from the stars telling us how brilliant the game was Cut the sales pitch already...we've already bought the game...sheesh...

Hi gamers. I got the game for my birthday. The PS2 version.

Well i must admit i was frustrated at first because hogwarts was so big i was finding it hard to find places. But then i noticed the footprints that lead me thier. I am at the moment on the bit where Hagrid has just left due to the Ministry and i have helped Luna put up the swamp. And now i'm on the clocktower destroying it or wrecking it.. I must admit the spells are quite hard to use. But the graphics are amazing.

I have a suggestion for you yellowbelly821 - try the shift key to get the character to run. You can always check the control configurations from the pause menu while in the game.

The students getting in the way is a problem (namely Ron & Hermione, as you said Louise) - especially with the fixed camera. I always have trouble trying to weave in and out of students and can't tell depth very well with the camera angle...but I guess that's a pretty small factor to complain about...and yeah Louise the reqards are pretty disappointing.

The controls are somewhat hard to remember and cast...I always get the counter-clockwise and clockwise rotation spells confused (and probably confused you saying that) when I'm trying to reparo of whatever the other ones are, but I kind of like that EA created a casting system like that. It makes the game more fun to play, but also makes me angry when trying to cast spells back to back quickly.

But overall, I enjoy the game and think EA did a good job laying the grounds for their spell casting system, which they will probably improve upon for the next HP game. It can only get better from here!

This is from the ps2 game i don't know how similair all the games are but i need to find Luna's possesions. And i have only found 3. And it's bugging me to find the other two because i honestly have been looking non stop for them. I have found one by the Viaduct entrance, Libary and Great hall. But i really need to find the others...

And i have to say the dules are really good and i love the speel effects.

the game is soo awesome on the wii. i love how u get to cast spell on the wii remote. i also love how huge the castle is. mean i get lost all the time it is soo much. i also like the order headquaters its a fun game.

Luna's possessions can be found in these locations:
1. Great Hall - To the left on a table
2. Entrance Courtyard - There are some leaves you need to sweep with the broom in the courtyard to reveal the object - the leaves you need to sweep away are opposite the side the broom is on and located near the wheelbarrow.
3. Clock Courtyard - Near the fountain I believe
4. Library - On the main table when you walk in
5. Viaduct Entrance - Near the bookcase to the right

I hope this will lead you on the right way!

Well this is more of me thinking to myself but once you've done Luna possesions there is not much else to do excpet find potrait passwords and all that but i've done most of that and it's still in the 74% area. Which is strange so maybe you have done all thosse little things from the room of rewards you may have to do something else. Unlock a character maybe. Because it would ahve been nice to play as Ron or Hermione.

I wondered if anybody could offer me some advice about the game? (PC/computer)

I'm considering buying it but don't know whether it will be worth it. I had the first two games (didn't purchase the 3rd but i can't remember why) and i loved the way you could move around the castle all the time and do fun things and try to find little things. It was also CLEAR what you had to do and was bright.
Then I got the 4th and was really disappointed You could hardly move around the castle at all... well im guessing this as i hardly got anywhere before i got bored. It kept returning to a main menu and i no longer had the feeling i WAS the character or was at Hogwarts.

If I buy the OOP game will I get back some of the magic and exploration of the first games i loved... or will i be disappointed again?

i don't think you'll be disappointed, the game's awesome, it's the best game so far, a lot better than GoF one. I'm not a videogame addict, but i've been playing this game as if i was . You should buy it, it's really worth it.

I must say that I had never purchased an HP game before and that I bought Order of the Phoenix just for fun but I must say that so far I have enjoyed it very much. In fact I am thinking in collecting the whole series because I want to have like everything HP related that comes out because when I look back I would like to remember all the good times I had with HP.

I am glad to hear that so many of you like the game. I have asked my husband and my kids for the game for my PC for Christmas/birthday. I have asked for a wireless controller too so it will be easier to play. I was worried that it was not liked much. I had read that a lot of people did not like the GOF game, so I was not real sure if I wanted this game. My two year old is a Harry Potter fan, so he may want to play it too, he he. He doesn't understand video games yet, so I will just let him watch. Sounds great to get to play all these characters in the game.

potterwatch07 I suggest you let him push a pointless button that won't hurt anything if he really wants to play. That's what I do with my younger siblings. It works quite well, except when they push the wrong button.

I asked for the game for Christmas too. My mom read a lot of bad reviews, like the camera and movement but it still sounds neat. But I'll ask you who've played it, are those things a big deal?

Yea, I bought the game for XBOX360 and I really liked it alot. I didn't notice any of the things about camera angles, I mean a little, but nothing that affected the game. The gameplay is really awesome, and, though a few of the tasks are quite tedious it is still alot of fun. I do have one suggestion though...

I would rent this game, NOT buy it, if you have an XBOX or playstation(I don't think you can rent CPU games). I only say this because the game is really, really short. It literally took me and a friend two days, playing about four hours a day, to beat this game. It is just not worth buying, I promise, rent it, beat it, than return it.

Now, after you beat the game you can still play and collect random things, do tasks, etc.. until you reach 100% completion, but even this only took about a week for me, and you can rent a game for a week.

Once again, I highly reccomend that everyone plays this game!! However, unless money is not a big deal, which it may not be for some, especially if your parents buy it for you, RENT THIS GAME, DON'T BUY IT!!

Alright, this game is officially the best yet. I do have a Wii now, which does sorta make it better, but I think it is just because this game is better. My favorite thing of all of the rest of the games was being able to explore Hogwarts a bit, and now, that's all we do! I would actually wait a while before I went to my classes on the previous HP games so I could explore the castle. So now I can roam around all I want without being late for anything. It is awesome!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that is really hard to find. I'm pretty sure its in the back left of the restricted section. Hermione will tell you when you find it. The restricted section is when you go into the library, go through one of the two doorways, then go through the gates. Good Luck!

Anyway, the game's amazing... I really loved it. I like it when there're duels!

I asked for it for Christmas and got it....yay! (the PC one)

I haven't had much time to play it so I'm only at the bit where Harry has to help Neville clear the greenhouse. I was roaming around the forest and the owlery for ages and that was so much fun! Teehee.

Moaning Myrtle keeps annoying me though....argh.



Yeah, my little brother likes watching me play it, he gets his "wand" and shouts Incendio! when Harry does it. i let him press pointless buttons too, sometimes, but he prefers watching.

I think it's quite good so far, but I would like to be able to play as Ron and Hermione.

I found the movement pretty annoying, and the fact they didn't port the 360 version instead was also disappointing .. I like the sandbox style though, but feel it could be bigger and have more detail in places.

I'm really excited to get the game. I know there are faults, like there are in all of them, but I'm asking for it for my birthday. I hope I can get it! It sounds exciting and I'm looking forward to everything, including exploring the castle, which is something I really liked in CS and PoA, especially PoA.

I bought the game for my PC and it's quite fun, however the constant running back and forth drove me insane! I wanted to get on with the game. It constantly froze, which shouldn't have happened because I was on a Windows XP computer, which was recommended on the back of the box. The graphics were good, and I really liked the use of some of the actual actors.

6.5/10 Slightly above average.

i got harry potter and the order of the phoenix for my playstation 2 and it works fine but there are a few glitchs. i completed it to 100% after 3 months and then i got bored and did it again.

I have the game and so far I have played it once. Hogwarts is so huge this time that I got lost the first time around looking for Fred and George. I repeatedly checked the Marauder's Map because of hugeness.

I didn't get to play again all the way because my computer is not showing all the writing. So It is hard for me to save a game, find a location, exit, or start one. Then I get repeatedly stuck with Harry, Ron, and Hermione standing in the Gryffindor Common Room waiting for my move. This is the part when the plan to visit the library to find a potion that will help Harry's hand after Harry's detention with Dolores.
