I hope this thread hasn't been created yet, I though I was quite imaginative for thinking of it .

Anway, we all know about Hogwarts, Beuxbaton and Durmstrang, but what about the schools in your country? I was thinking to myself, what would the Wizarding school in Australia be, and I was wondering what other people thought a school in their country would be called.

So, basically all you have to do is state what country you're from and what you think the school in that country would be called (and maybe a small decription of what you think it may look like if you want ).

I'll go first. I'm from Australia and I think the Wizarding school here should be called Snumbleroo's School For the Magically Able! I have no idea why, but I like it . This school will be big, HUGE infact! The walls will be snadstone and the it'll have many fields, a forest and Quidditch Pitch!

I am from the U.S.A, and the magical school i think i would have here, would be called, The Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, located in Salem, Massachussetts. The student body would not be split into houses or anything, all we would have is age groups like, age10-13 age 14-17 and so on till we get to age 27.

The only proble with this is that there is already an american institute with the name salem, it is mentioned in book 4 when they are at the Quiddich world cup. I am also from the US and I woul dlove to create a different one, perhaps, STARS and STRIPES intstitute for magical learning. With seven years of course, to keep the consistency. Year 1 would study all the same classes with the addition of Ancient Runes. Year 2 would include all the subjects in year 1 plus Arithmancy. Year 3 and 4, would include all your subjects from year two plus any other you desire. Year five would include all your subjects from year 4. Year 6 would include any classes that help you toward your career choice (with the right OWLs of course). Year 7 would be the same as year six.

The premises would be located in the Smokey Mountains of Townsend, Tennessee. School would start on the first Monday after labor day (not always the same date). It would appear like a castle, but with no peaks, all square edged, and most of the castle would be embedded in the moutains themselves (all windows within the rockface would be bewitched like the windows in the Ministry). SEE this picture for a better idea. All the mountains invloved wouldl have pieces of the castle protruding form them as well as many tunnels and classrooms inside. The bottom of the center mountain would be enclosed by a vast lake. The four surrounding mountains would be surrounded by forestry

Structually, there would be Five houses, One house for each Life Element (Water, Fire, Air, Earth and Heart). Water would take the most Nimble/Agile and Hard working, Fire would take the most Flamboyant/Outgoing and Entertaining, Air would take the most Free-spirited/Independent and Daring, Earth would take the most Cool, Calm and Collective and finally Heart would take the most Energetic/Ambitious and Dedicated.

House symbols: Water - Dolphin, Fire - Dragon, Air - Falcon, Earth - Lemur, Heart -Labrador.
House colors: Water (Teal and Turquoise), Fire (Red and Orange), Air (Silver and White), Earth (Green and Amber), Heart (Blue and Red).

Examples of characters that would go in each house: Water - Hermione, Fire - the Weasley twins, Air - Luna and Harry, Earth - Lupin, Heart - Oliver Wood. I would personally be in Water.

Since there are five mountains and Five houses - there would be one mountain to each house.

-The center mountain would be the main location and dedicated to the heart house - where the great hall was and where the Quiddich field and stadium would be (located on the top of the mountain). Classes held in this mountain would be Charms (head of the Heart House) Muggle Studies, Literature, Journalism and Philosophy. The halls would be decorated with Blue and red and cherry oak doors and walls (the ones that aren't rockface of course). The dormatories would be located in the center and the base of the mountain. There would also be an area, only accessible through the dormitory for lounging with large floor pillows and couches and a padded floor - absolute comfort for all heart students - the kick is that it is not a common room - individuals go in there to relax and each one has there own area to do what they will.

-The mountain to the West would be for Earth where there would be a marsh located at the top that was dedicated for herbology (with a greenhouse next to it of course). Off the east mountain would also be te meadow and parts of the forest - all for herbology studying. The halls would of course be decorated in amber and green and would have a bamboo/tiki style setting. Classes dedicated to the West mountain would be for Herbology (Head of the Earth House)and Marine and Environmental studies The dormatories would be located directly under the marsh with glass ceilings with a view of the marsh bottom. There is a spot located only through the dormitories that takes students to a lakeside park for down time - like a common grounds but only available for the Earth students.

-The East mountain would be for Water, with a common ground located on top (like a court yard I guess - with benches and shade trees and etc...). whose only entrance was a spiraling staircase through the dormitory - only available to the Water students of course. Classes in this mountain would be dedicated to Potions (Head of the Water House), Care for Magical Creatures (an inside jugle/Rainforest/Forest exists for many creatures), Alchemy and Magical Healing. The halls would be decorated with Turquoise and teal and would have a Mahagony style hall setting. Dormitories would be located in a castle part protruding from the side of the mountain (around the center) facing away from the center mountain.

-The North Mountain would be for Air and be dedicated to Astronomy (located in a tower some100 feet off the top of the mountain), Transfiguration (head of the Air House) Arithmancy, Geography and History of Magic. This mountain has individual classrooms for all clubs such as Gobbstone, Chess etc... The halls would be decorated with silver and white and have with a white pine theme. Dormitories would be located in a tower at the top of the mountain (located opposite the Astronomy tower - but only 50 feet off the mountain top). Also located inbetween the two towers would be the owlery. Also, Only accessible trhough the dormitory is a cloud paradise for downtime (picture the care bears but with less hearts).

-The South Mountain would be for Fire and dedicated to Defense Against the Dark Arts (Head of the Fire House), Ancient Ruins and Business Ethics. The Fire mountain would be the only location for Dueling clubs. The halls would be decorated with Orange and Red and would have a log cabin theme to it. The dormitories would be located on the tope of the mountain (the only mountain wiht just the dormintory on it). It would take up the entire top of the mountain with outside gounds only accessible for those in the fire house.

There would be many ways to get form mountain to mountains. Such as Undergrond passagesways (the most deserted way to get around) and Teleportation areas pre-designated to go from one mountain to another. There are also hover discs (like hte ones Magneto travels on when he is leaving the prison in X-men II). OR Boats for the slow way.

Attending class would be the same, each house would attend class together (the same year of course), with one other house (not always the same house).

I put a lot of detail into this, so if there is anything I missed, please let me know.

padfoot i like yours, but there is one problem, you dont have a coat of arms. may i suggest, a big heart with fire surrounding it, earth underit, air circling it, the water is a water fall behind it all. you draw a picture of that, and tell me what you think of it. maybe even try to scant it and post it on here if your able to, dont know if that is against the rules or not, so youll have to ask. i didnt think that i seen it in the rules but i could be wrong. just check to make sure, i would really like to see it. i think you can by scanning it then uploading it into photobucket then copy pasting to the post one you select the image icon in the tool bar of this posting box. the water would be better as something else, maybe a lake around the heart but not ccompletely because you need to show the earth. also, i would place myself in the Fire house. because i am flamboyant.

Whoa, I see you guys have put a bit more thought into it than I have, so maybe I should expand on my theory more.

For Snumbleroo's School for the Magically Able it will go from 1st year to 7th, there would be five houses, as follows:

-Wumblereed
This house is for those pure of heart, brave at soul. They strive to help others and reach their goals.

-Hippocore
This house is for those who strive to do well. They will work very hard just so that they may do good in their goal.

-Swiftwing
This house is for those who are cunning and thoughtful. They have very good minds and use their good minds to creating cunning plans.

-Hidehool
This house is for those who mean well. Though they may not always be best at exams, they are loyal friends.

-Steelhoof
This house is for the pure of blood. They will do almost anything to achieve their goals, and that may not always be the right thing.

The way the students will be selected into their houses is by the Oak Tree. This tree stands tall in the middle of the fields. When first years start they will line up, when their names are called they must stand under the tree and a leaf will fall with the name of their house on it.

The school shall be located in the Snowy Mountains, perched on top of a mountain. The Quidditch Pitch shall be placed on a neighboring mountain, not too far away, only a five minute walk from the castle.

It will be locatated on another mountian, and shall be reached, with a tunnel connecting the mountain to the school volcano. All rooms within the castle will have enchanted windows to show replica of what is outside the volcano. All students will take place year round. They will get holidays that are to be spent inside the castle, and then these holidays are as follows:

All right I am making a addition to my above post for the Stars and Stripes School of Magical learning.

prince_halfblood_22 I took your idea into consideration and I chose to create it in another way. Since each house has an animal, I would like for them to be portayed on the Coat of Arms as well as the element for that house. So here goes:

The dolphin projecting out of the center of a square to the right with a stream of water (the colors of the house intertwined in the water) emitting from the back. the Dragon directly underneath with a stream of fire. Now, above the Dolphin, but going the other way from the center (the left) would be the falcon with a gust of wind. Under that, with the stream between the dragon and the Dolphin would be the labrador with a gust of Blue with red hearts (within the blue stream) emmitting from the back. And finally below the Labrador and the dragon going toward the left, would be the lemur with a jet of amber and green leaves (within the amber stream) emitting from behind it. The end result would look like a spider template with the streams meeting in the middle and flowing down to the last symbol on each side and surrounding the outside and meeting back in the middle at the top - giving a butterfly effect in the end.

As for the sorting: Each child will walk up to a neutral yellow beam from the top of the hall, to the floor. When the child walks into the beam, the beam will change to the colors of the house it was sorted into and the animal symbol will loop around the child. Once the child exits the stream of light, it returns to yellow and awaits the next child.

I will try and draw my coat of arms and put it on photobucket, but I can't guarentee it will work.

I have decided to list all subjects in the school: Charms, History of Magic, Herbology, Astronomy, Potions, DADA, Transfiguration, Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes, Geography, Care for Magical Creatures, Marine and Environmental Studies, Arithmancy, Alchemy and Philosophy, Literature, Journalism, Business Ethics, Magical Healing and fortunately there would be no Divination.

In the the future though, please, try and come up with fresh new ideas, because, well i think that this thread is intended to see how creative one can get with the school they create, and all details, should be your own creation, not any of the other members within VTM.


I have to add a bit to my school creation.

Sorting: All students, shall stand at the foot of the volcano, and in turn, fly to the summit. Then, the volcano spurts out, the colors in which that student's new house has become. <EX. Ruby and Gold for Pyromius>

Founding Date: 1 BC

It does have a dueling club too. It is done in a room just off the Great Hall. This room is, 1000yards X 1000yards.

It seems that my Houses of elements has caught on to just about everyone. I guess I can try and give them names like everyone else, but I have to be sure to be original, so it may take me a while. I will come back and list them later.

OK, For each of the houses that I included - where I have recently added more detail to the personality type for each house, and layout (see page one)- I am going to give them each a name. Now they are not named after any founders or such, these names are strictly connected to the element it represents with an influence of the founders specialties.

Earth - Mesalily

Heart - Cardiocrinum


Well there you go. I hope you can see the one link between the houses.

OK, NOW for the School Founders. There are two - a married couple with extrodinary magical powers and ideals. Mr. Phlox Primrose and Mrs. Dahlia Delphinium.
There obvious specialty is plants - hence the marsh dedicated to herbology.

They met long ago - approximately 378 B.C. When they met in the mountains of Tennesse studying the rare flowers/plants growing there (Muggles were getting curious as to why they had never seen such a species before). It was love at first sight. Combining their knowledge with one another - they became the only ones with such a strong and vast knowledge for herboloy nad horticulture etc... They decided to spread there knowledge of plants and wildlife to anyone willing to listen. When they started the school, The marsh, the lake and the forest and meadows surrounding the Mountains where the main area of study. Then they decided to broaded their education and brought in various teachers with various specialties and divided their students into 5 houses. There was never any prejudice about blood entering the school, so student selection was strictly based on those who wanted to learn. Although Herbology is still their top subect and most persued, they have enlisted other subjects to expand their school. As more and more students came to the school, the Castle was expanded to the surrounding mountains - decided that they would put their spirits and souls in the school forever - as the neutral yellow beam that sorts the currents students into the houses.

These are great. I love reading everyone's reasons why they named their school as they did. Some of them are positively superb. I think we need one in Antarctica. The coat of arms can have a penguin on it.

I think your right. I think after I have completed the finishing touches on the one I have already created, I think I will create another one in a place no one has used yet.

OK - I am adding school attire:

I will be keeping with the Robes Idea - but each robe would be a neutral sun yellow (like the sorting beam). - with the individuals house coat of arms on the upper left corner above the heart (I am still creating them too). The robes would all be made out of velvet and have buttons on the inside lining of the robes (so no buttons or zipper show when they are buttoned up).

The uniform would be wool yellow vests and Kahki pants. Girls would have pants as well - but would have a knee length skirt option too. All shoes would be black - for both girls and boys. The ties would all be striped vertically (not diagonally) with the school colors and have the coat of arms in the center near the bottom of the tie.


I guess I will explain the coat of arms for each house too:

HMMM

Hydrangea - A circle with water on the bottom and a dolphin flipping in the air.

Lavatera - A Dragon breathing fire and creating a circle around him.

Zephyrose - A Tornado with a Falcon emerging from the Funnel top ( a circle outline of course)

Mesalily - A circle of leaves (like a wreath crown) - with a lemur hanging from it's tail from teh top of the circle

Cardiocrinum - A large heart outline - with a labrador begging in the center - tongue out and everything.

Hmm, i like your idea of school uniforms, Bree, so i shall make my own school uniforms.

ok, lets make the uniforms, like robes, and they are made of acrormantula silk. all will be white, with the house coat of arms on the very middle of chest area, and the school coat of arms on the middle of the back. also, no ties for girls only the boys and they will be pure red, because Pyro was the first headmaster at my school. also, make, the girls and boys wear gold sandles. the boys will wear white slacks under the robes, also made of acro silk. girls will wear white dresses made of acro silk. now for the finishishing touch. the head boy will wear a gold crown with the school coat of arms in a cross onthe very top. head girl will wear a crown that has the same thing but looks much like a tiara. all prefects will wear gold halos, that which coexists with the house they come from.

Wow, this has gotten bigger than I thought. I love all of your ideas, they're really amazing, the amount of effort put into them is superb.

Now, out of curiosity, who would be the Headmaster at your school? Would it be you or would you assign another wizard to do the job? What kinds of things does this wizard have to be good at, what kind of responsibilities would they have to hold to be a headmaster at your school?

hm well, I would appoint my ex girlfriend as the Headmistress. She is a real witch by the way, and she is a good with. very superb with her abilities, which include, potions, hexes, curses, charms, and of course transfiguration. She is by far the best witch ive ever met and ive met quite a few, of the Wiccan nature.

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA

Campus: All the standard protections apply; A series of four high-rises in the center of downtown Seattle.

Grades/Ages: Designed for those students, of any age, who have graduated from their primary school of magic and are interested in more in-depth studies concerning specific areas.

Houses: None

Mascot: Sasquatch/Big Foot

Colors: Orange and Brown

Degrees: Bachelor of Magic (B.M.)
Docter of Magic (M.D.)

Areas of Study: There are a number of entry level course for first years including some of those offered at primary magical schools. Upon completion of the first year students are allowed to declare a Major area of study.They are then placed into a certain School. Those wishing to be Mediwizards would be placed into the School of Healing, those interested in entrepreneurship would be placed in the School of Business. This is just a sampling of the options available for study.

(acedemy of life and mind)

location: changes twice a year(exclusively to the UK), due to the attention it brings to the surrounding magical community. currently thought to be in the lake district.

teaches: complete control of the mind in order to protect, extend and create life. magical classes are taught, but they are based on the idea of control and reservation, not luck and chance encounters with wild magic. the school also teaches of acceptance of the world, and how to use every situation to your advantage. it focusses on legliemecy and occlumecy as a basic sector of the curriclium.

years:there are four basic years, but students are not taken below the age of sixteen, unless the have outstanding magical ability. they are not set by age, but by the ability that they possess. some students spend up to five calender years in one school year/grade, whereas some may skip years.

houses:students are not set into houses, but into the years they are in. although it means that it is quite common to have 16 year olds sharing with twenty+ year olds, it is found that they often have similar mental ages and get on quite well. the years are as follows;

1-Bambino
2-Debuttante
3-Competente
4-Sicuro

(the names are in a form of italian as they have progressed from latin with minor differences)no students or teachers are ever refered to as masters, as there is always something more to learn.

colours/clothing: all students wear grey robes. these change only in shade, the first years wear dark grey and this gets progressively lighter, the teachers wear white. the styles differ from student to student, to give them some freedom. this is also to show that the only thing that matters is the shade of your robe, the idea is that the only way to disinguish from 'Bambino' and 'Sicuro' is to study them carefully, and to not make assumptions of a group as a whole.
the robes change on their own, in size and shade. students need only to buy one set.

classes:Occlumecy and legliemecy, charms, potions, transfiguration, natura(form of herbology), Vederus(form of divintation), Mondos (a mixture of muggle studies, current affairs, phycology and modern laguages), defence and use of the dark arts, Vitas(creation and alteration of life, contains some forms of alchemy)
you can also take extra clases, private as a small group on basically whatever you want, depending on your magical ability.

Equiptment: wand from any good wand shop, to be recorded by the school, numerous magical books plus "studies of magically altered life" by Jesias Morgus and "advanced alchemy" by Nicholas Flammel. couldrons, ingrediants and etra books supplied by the accademy, robes to be directly bought from the accademy.

no pets alowed until final year, due to the high number of accidents caused by younger students prctising homework on them.

Obviously Salem would be the best location for a wizarding school in the US, but since there has been multiple posts including that city i'll go in a different direction. I'm from the midwest so we'll leave Salem in the East and make the Windy City Witches and Wizards Institution. The four houses would be called: Jordan (equals Ravenclaw and symbol is a Bull) - Payton (equals Slytherin and symbol is a Bear) - Marist (equals Gryffindor and symbol is Redhawk) - Rush (equals Hufflepuff and symbol is a Rhino). The houses if people can't figure it out are made up of sports analogies about Chicago and one High school. I made the Bears the Slytherin house because they hit really hard.

7134407, i just did a huge project on salem, including a section on Arthur Millers 'The Crucible', studying historical records and a big history bit. having a school in salem would be really cool, because of the history there, but do you think that it might have a bit of bad karma? i like your house names (even though im english and have no idea what half your post meant, i liked the idea).

Honestly, I would not expect anyone outside the US to understand my post because f the sports references. Also, I have also read the crucible and understand your argument, but it has been known as the witch capital of North America and would be the cliche place to have a school for witchcraft and wizardry. Although, the place is known for killing many witches. By the way, the Crucible was a pretty good read.

I live in USA, and I think the school would be called The Most Ancient Academy of Goaferrickeroozley. And then as soon as you walked through the doors, you would see a big sign that said "Bringing magic to underage wizards and witches since 1273." It would be under water, and you would have to jump in a special PODERGA (Perfectly Outstanding Deep-sea-diving Engineering-marvel of a Revolutionarily Great Aqua-liner) to get there. When you arrived, all you would see would be the wreck of the Edmund Fitsgerald. You would go to the cockpit and you would see a clump of seaweed. Then, you would feed the seaweed to a fish that had just swum in. The fish would turn into a golden griffin, attached to a chariot. You would get into the chariot and it would go sweeping upwards, bursting out of the water into the clouds. Once in the clouds, you would see a HUGE tower, at least 500 feet around and more than 700 feet high. Once you got inside you would be introduced to the headmistress, a slightly batty lady who lived at the very top of the tower. She was an animagus, and could turn into a griffin (hint hint). You would then be put into an empty room.
A hungariun horntail would come racing at you, to test your courage, then you would see someone being tortured, to test your kindness, etc. At the end, they would sort you into 7 houses. They were fluffergup, Gudderhan, shinnyhoobok, kreekaboller, roesoneeeeeag, hooqoowooroosoodooaoooooooo, and weesellen. At the end of 8 years, you would graduate, and become an official Goaferrickeroozleyer.

yeah 7134407 i do agree with the witch capital thing, it would almost be like a 'holy' place, consecrated ground, though not in a totally religious way. yeah the crucible was a good read, but oi think that three months of pure study kind of saturates it of fun, i hate it when schools do that.,.. puts generations off shakespeare for life...

Location : Scotland, Glasgow, East Kilbride(or E.K. is what people normally call it).

Founder : Mr Willliam Tiddlius.

Houses : Glasgow, London, Cardiff and Belfast(named after some city's in the UK).

Headmaster : Professor William Tiddlius the 3rd.

Deputy Headmistress : Professor Martha Klington.

Teaches : Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, DADA, Charms, Potions, Ozticulary(learning to have your mind clear of any unwanted thoughts and nightmares).

Years : 8 years of school though. In your seventh, eighth year and a at the end of sixth year you will start to learn more challenging spells like to defend yourself against Death Eaters, Giants, Dementors, etc.

Exams : S.K.R.E.W.T.(Serious Kind of Revision for the Elder Witch+Wizard Students) which is for 8th year only which they have to remember everything they've learnt at Ozticularalts. All the other years do a basic exam of what they have learned that year.

School Colours : Blue And Pink(Blue for the boys and Pink for the girls).

I live in New Zealand ... so here's mine:

Name: Diggins Acadmey of Magic.

Location: Deserted part up north, near the bay of islands. Big castle.

Founder/s: Mandy Diggins. She and her husband Harvey Diggins built the castle after they heard about how popular wizardry was getting.

Houses: Walter, Cecilia, Beatrice and Preston. Named after the first four students who were actually aloud to go to Diggins.

Uniform/Colours: Colours are pale blue and violet. Uniform is a viloet blouse, a pale blue pull-over jersey, and a pleated skirt for girls and shorts for boys (Pale blue) and if you want, girls can wear shorts and both can wear pants.

Years: school is in 2 parts: The junior school, which is made up of 5-10 year olds.
The senior school: which is made up of 11-17 year olds.

Exams: PEWYR (pass exceptionaly well, yeah right.) kinda hard exams for students at 13 and 15. They take PIUWAJ (Pass if you want a job) at 17.

Most Popular sporting event: Quidditch of course!

I'm from Washington USA (and proud of it) And I think that If we would have a school it would be called Washinton's School For Witches and Wizards.

Houses= None. It would be like a private school with dorms and things. No co-ed dorms though. That one of the things I thought was a little bad about the set up of Hogwarts. Putting students in houses caused conflicts between the students.

Classes= The same as Hogwarts I'm sure.

Outfits/School colors= Blue and white Robes. The quidditch players would have silver based outfits with blue stripes.

The Flag= It would be a white base with a blue X through it. It would also contain the Coat of arms or crest or the school.

The Crest= Is an Eagle with two crossed wands in the background. It would be embroided with blue ribbions.d

Activites= I think there woul be more Dances and things like the yuel ball. There would be a dueling club and students could run for class president.

My school would be in the Pacific ocean. The students would have seven years, and the classes would be the same as Hogwarts.

The school would be 6 islands, the main island would be the biggest, and hold all the classes. The main island would be connected to each separate island by underwater tunnel. One of the smaller islands would be the quidditch pitch next to a forest. Each other small island would be a house (Fire, Earth, Air, and Water).

The fire students would passionate, dymanic, and tempermental. They tend to be hotheaded, and trouble-makers.The fire sign would be a Phoenix, rising from flames(colors are red, yellow, and orange). The Earth students would be grounded, they would hardly every loose focuse on what they were doing. They are loyal and stable. Their signs would be a tree(Colors are green, and brown). Air students would be the group focused on action, ideas and motion, they would constantly be reminded of the rules. They love adventure. There sign would be a hummingbird inthe sky(Colors are navy, and white). Water signs are intuitive, emotional, and ultrasensitive. Most of they keep to themselves, and are quite in class. MAny water signs are good at Divination, and Astrology. There sign would be a fish jumping out of the water(colors are blue-green, and pale yellow).

The Fire and Air houses get along really well together. The water and Earth get well along really well. The Earth signs get along with most groups though. Water doesn't get along well with the Fire or air houses because the water signs take is slow, and the fire and air signs like action.

The school is competitive, and each house has a Quidditch team. There robes would be the houses colors.

There would also be more dances.

My school would be called Quadrivium Witchcraft and Wizardry. Quadrivium means crossroads in Latin.


HOUSES:
The four houses would be conpetitive but draw together in dificult times. That is why the school name is Quadrivium. Crossroads are things that are dufferent, but meet in the middle. Get it?
The houses would be called:

Opera (not the music), which means labour. They would be hard workers and never give in. The symbol would be a pair of crippled hands. Eerie I know...

Praeficio Preficio, which means to put in charge. They would crave for power. They would be the Percy Weasley type. Their symbol would be a lightning bolt.

Rubor, which means modesty. They would be wise but not cockey abou it. There symbol would be a large Peacock.

Socius, which means sharing. They would be very considerate of others, and share all there abilities. Their symbol would be a candle.

THE CASTLE:

The great hall wouldn't have four tables for four houses, but one huge circular table. The teachers would sit amongst the students to create a form of community and equal.

Most main features would be formed around a circle. Teh entrance hall would be a large circular room, branching off to the four house common rooms.

Each common room would be a kind of room of requirment.

Well I'm from Canada! So here I go!

Name: Ice Cap Consolidated For The Magically gifted.

Location: Deep in the Boreal Forests of canada. ( More than likely located in Manitoba)

Moto: Altiora Peto (Reach for the heights)

Years: 8

Coat of arms: A winged wolf, it's wings wrapped around the three coat of arm colors, Dark red, silver, and blue. Ice Cap is printed in fancy letters in the center of the design.

Because Canada is ... well... huge =P Two buildings are built in order to accomidate the number of students. and so grades from 1 to 4 is in one part of the school, and grades 5 to 8 is housed in another.

There are two teachers for each subject due to the splitting of the school. There are Junior teachers for grade 1 to 4 and Senior teachers for grades 5 to 8.

Students travel Via two secret Trains which travels along the trans Canada highway heading towards the province of Manitoba. Students from Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island need to travel to the mainland in order to take this train. One resides in Halifax Nova Scotia while the other is in Victoria British Columbia.

The school was established soon after Manitoba joined Confederation in July 1870

I am in U.S.A. I think the school here would be called The Great School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! It would be located in the Rocky mountains and be hidden on a mountain. Like it would be inside a mountain but in certain areas have torrets coming out of the side of the mountain. There would be only three houses but I really dont no what to call them.

My school you could only get there by flying bus or train. I think I would call it the Heavenly School of Different Arts! Because I feel that magic is an art....it is an art of the soul. It would be very well hidden being located way up in the heavens. There would not be seperate houses because I would be very particular about who came to my school (aka no people that would belong in Slytherin at Hogwarts). Before they came they would have to send an application along with a video and if I was seriously considering them I would go to their house for a one on one interview. My school would be a school of peace and harmony because there is so little of that in the world. It would have the same sort of classes as Hogwarts! I probably would have house elves to cook and clean and all that stuff, however ALL my house elves would be free! I would not OWN any of them, but there would be a special wing just for them. The girls would sleep down one wing at least 4 to a room and the boys would sleep down a completely different wing again at least 4 to a room. The reason why I would not have any houses is because I do not like segregation, so therefore they would all be intergrated together. One of the classes I would teach that other probably wouldn't or don't is How to survive in real life! And probably also meditation! If there was a fight between two or more people...first I would break up the fight and split everyone up for a while so they could cool down.....then my form of punishment would be to have them go through an obstacle course where the only way for them to get through correctly is for all of them to get along and help each other out by communication.

Well since I'm from Scotland, we already have Hogwarts which suits me fine^^
But on the other hand, since I'm half German I reckon it would be a school somewhere deep in a vast forest like the Black Forest and maybe looking something like Neuschwanstein. It would certainly be elaborate and beautiful like a typical German fairytale castle. Probably white stone with gold turrets. There is such a palace somewhere along the Rhein I believe.
