Hey you all, how would you like to create your own brew?! Well, in this thread you can!! anything you want a poison, a love potion, or maybe a simple one that coexists with an already created one. follow instructions below, and tell every step in creating it.

Okay I have it
Axis-
Ingrediants-
3 doxy eggs, 1 unicorn hair, 1 ft. long strip of oak, Mane of Kelpie, Centaur hoof, Dried leeches, Runespoor Fang, Gurdy root
Slice the oak into 2in. by 2in strips, Cut the dried leeches in half. Spilt the Runespoor fang in half, Shave of 1gram of centaur hoof, cut the gurdy root into 2mm pieces., leave rest as is.
First add the unicorn hair and Mane of Kelpie, let simmer for 2 min. Then carfully add only on half of the Runespoor fang. also let simmer for two minutes. Next add the Centaur hoof shavings and doxy eggs. Let sit for 2 minutes with no fire. Then add the leeches and gurdy root. Stir mixture 22 times clockwise, let simmer for 3 min. 5 times counterclockwise, let simmer for 2min. then repeat until the potion is a light aqua blue color. From here on let simmer for two days.
You will know you have made the potion right is it is a dark mettalic blue at the end of the two days. If it smells a bit like wax of some sorts. Also is must have the consistoncy of wax if it has been proparly made.
The finished potion gives you Axis. Axis, when made proparly, will give the ability to of Clairvoyance (The power to see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the normal five senses.) This ability will not last for more than a day, but can be useful.

sorry for the double post, i accidentally clicked on add reply, and i didnt want to loose my last post, so i just double posted, i hope the mods will overlook this as a mistake. Well, apearently i lost it anyway, stupid thing, oh well you shall see my potion later on in the week then, sorry for this inconvienence you all!! okay, i have come up with a potion.
Name: Volitoserum-Flying Potion

Ingredients: 4 sprigs of Thyme, 6 leaves of Speriment, 2 drops of veritaserum, 2 quarts of chinese green tea, 12 leaves of a ginkoba plant, 1 ginseng root/leaf, one sheaf of Blue Spruce Bark.
Ingredient Preparation:crush the spruce bark, cut up the thyme, speriment, ginkoba and the ginseng, mix these all into one mixture evenly. Then, mix the veritaserum and the greentea and stir till it is light green in color.
Brewing Instructions: put the couldron on high heat, and put in the tea mixture, then let simmer for 3 mins. Next, take the leaf, bark and thyme mixture and add in half of it. Now, let simmer for 5 more minutes. stir 1 clockwise, 2 counter, pause, repeat till the mixture turns emerald in color. Then, put in other half of the bark, thyme and leaf mixture. let simmer for 10 mins. stir like you did above, and then take off heat, let stand for 20 mins.

Main Effects: Will give you unlimited wisdom and unlimited intelligence. Lasts for 6 hours.
Side Effects: May make peers think you are too smart for them, may cause overexersion of the brain if used on a daily basis.
Color/Smell/Viscosity of Finished Potion: Color: Metallic Emerald; Smell: Speriment, Pine, Thyme, and Sweetened Tea; Viscosity: Medium thickness, and no disruption if disturbed< No ripples>
NOTE: This potion is completely illegal to use while completing exams!!! If done so, then the purpetrator shall be expelled from their school of magic immediately!!!

Brewing Instructions:Put your culdron(sp?) on a high heat fire and put your whole garlics and cups of water in.Stir clockwise twice then add in the cinnamin sticks and add in the rest of the garlic half by half. In between each garlic half stir anti-clockwise once. After the garlic is added stir 5 times clockwise then 5 5 times anti-clockwise.Then add the Bloomsslang Skin wile stirring in an anti-clockwise direction.Leave potion for half an hour then add your Firewhisky. Bottle after an another half an hour on the fire.

1. Potions name: Must be Latin, French, Greek, or some other language, but the users native toungue, also, must mean what it is intended to mean, which includes what the potion is supposed to do. <3 points>
2. Ingredients needed: Must be either from the HP books, or a real ingredient. <4 points>
3. How to prepare each ingredient for brewing< ex. cut the gurdy root into 1 millimeter pieces> Must do this, to earn <3 of the points>.
4. Tell what order to add ingredients< 2 points>
5. Tell how to stir mixture< ex. 7 clockwise, 2 counterclockwise, pause, then start again> <3 points>
6. Effects of finished potion: Must be specific<5 points>

On this note, there is no Thread members as of yet, not till i get the approval owl. thanks for the warning triad!! seriously i had no idea that this needed approval. i must say something else though. maybe you should send your post to the thread starter of the create a spell thread, because, he/she, also is having this rating system not the hiearchy, but they do have the post rating system, so im just telling you, sorry if this is concidered "Tattling".
prince_halfblood- I don't understand why you didn't PM this to Triad or one of the other mods if you felt it was concern rather than making it a public 'tattling'. However given that posted it in here, I've looked through that thread and I don't see what you are talking about by a 'rating'. Members- including the starter of that thread- are able to make comments on that thread ('wow, how useful, I'd like to use that to..., that's a great spell' etc) however there is no 'rating' that I can see.
And certainly no type of club, which I believe is why Triad has asked you to hold off until Mod approval. Personally I do not see the point of having an 'executive' (CEO, president etc) for this type of thread, as I thought it was meant to be 'fun'.

I read the Create-a-spell thread and saw nothing like what you were trying to do. Pix, I've said they can have the heirachy, although I too don't understand the necessity of it. There doesn't really seem to be a need for it since the application has been denied. But as long as they don't disobey the rules or in any other way cause any disruption to the thread I can't see the harm in it.

okay okay. In this thread, there shall not be any heiarchy of any kind, as there is really not a reason to have it, and the PRs, disreguard my attempts to apoint you as one. They are not legal in the forums, and i now understand why, getting an owl from triad, it is considered as spamming the owl systems, so it shall not be done, if i hear that anyone has followed through with it, I shall not be taking any blame for it, and I shall report you to a Mod, or an Admin very promptly! I shall not take the wrap for something that i was trying to pass but was shot down, by a mod, this is a general response. one other thing, i think that the rating system is still a go, we may not have to have approval to this, only to the PRs, but as I said, above, it is not legal to have PRs as this is Spaming. Here I am at last. Mad October! thousands of things to be done. Anyway!
1. Potion name: Invictabilis (protection potion)
2. Ingredients needed: 1 part vervain petals, 1 part lavender, 10 cactus thorns, 10 grams dried dragon's skin, 2 cat claws (the ones that cats leave around when they change them are OK), 500 ml agave's fresh juice, 1 piece of beryl, 2 grams of red agate chips.
3. How to prepare each ingredient for brewing: Soak the dragon's skin in rainwater and rehydrate for about 12 hours. Use a heavy brass mortar to reduce all herbal ingredients to a fine powder. Put aside and ready for use all the crystals and the cat claws, plus the agave juice.
4. Tell what order to add ingredients: Leave all the organic ingredients in infusion with agave juice for 2 days without any fire. Then, let it simmer for about six hours, add the crystals and let simmer for 6 hours more. Once cold, let it bathe in sunlight and moonlight for about 10 days. Then, filter and bottle.
5. Tell how to stir mixture: This mixture doesn't have to be stirred,
6. Effects of finished potion: This protective potion helps in averting physical assaults, creating an invisible shield around our body that repulses external aggressive intentions. A single draught gives a good protection against aggressions for 12 hours. Great for night rounds.
7. What color and smell and consistency should the potion be when finished: Light green colour; absolutely watery; strong and pungent scent of wet underwood.
8. Recommendations: this potion must be brewed the first day of waning moon. This means that all the preparing operations must be done the last days of full moon. It's dangerous even to move the cauldron while the potion is simmering, because it would lose its properties. Keep children away and door well locked. If you live in a earthquake area you should consider choosing another potion with similar effects.

1. Luna Munimen (Moon Defence)
2. Asphodel root, Griffin claw (powdered), Moonstone, Peppermint, Wolfsbane
3. Chop the asphodel root into 5cm pieces.
The powdered griffin claw must be added to 500ml of water and left until the water boils, take the water of the source of heat and leave to one side.
The moonstone must be cut into several chunks.
Making the potion
- add the water with the powdered griffin claw to a base of 1 litre cold water in the cauldron
- stir clockwise until a cloud of silver appears and vanishes above the cauldron
- add around half of the chopped asphodel root

The powdered griffin claw must be added to 500ml of water and left until the water boils, take the water of the source of heat and leave to one side.

Omitted Guildlines- Latin, Greek, or other foreign translation of potion, <EXP. Veritaserum- Truth Potion> the italic word is the foreign translation of the potion. Also, you have not included the viscocity of potion by the end of the creation process< EXP. Very thick, not peturbed when shaken or stirred.> Another omition in your creation process, includes, the smel of your potion. Finally, I stated that if you create a poison, then one must include an antidote, and both must follow the creation process rules. In your case, you need to state the poison, from which this potion is an antidote for, and include how to create that poison.
A sumation of point loss: 1 for your Viscocity, 1 for the smell, 1 for no foreign translation for potion name, and finally, 2 for the abscence of your poison. Over all, you still have a nice potion, very good creativity skills, but remember to include what i have taken points off for, in future potions that you create.

I know that in the Wizarding world a love potion already exists called Amortenia ('the most powerful Love Potion in the world, it causes a powerful infatuation or obsession in the drinker. It has a distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from it in characteristic spirals. It has a different aroma to everyone who smells it, reminding each person of the things that they find attractive.') but I really wanted to make my own love potion so here is. . .
Create-a-potion
Name:
--Aphrodite's Philtrum (Aphrodite Greek Goddess of Love, Philtrum meaning a love potion in Latin so the internet told me)
Ingredients are as Follows:
--Moonstone (Six by six centimetres)
--Peppermint (Fourteen grams)
--Pomegranate Juice (Fourteen millilitres)
--Unicorn Horn (One whole horn)
--Unicorn Tail Hairs (Fourteen hairs)
--Valerian Root (One root)
--Water (Half a pint)
Preparation:
--Bathe the Moon stone in the pomegranate juice overnight under the light of a full moon
--Wrap the Valerian root around the Unicorn horn and leave at room temperature overnight
--Chop the peppermint into fine small pieces and put into a bowl with the water and leave it overnight at room temperature
Method:
--Pre heat your caldron for twenty minutes on a full heat and as the caldron is heating collect all of your ingredients including the ones you have left overnight
--When the caldron has preheated pour in the water and peppermint from your bowl and leave to simmer for two minutes
--After two minutes remove the moonstone from the pomegranate juice and put to one side then add the pomegranate juice to the caldron. Leave until mixture is boiling
--As soon as the mixture has started to boil mix the potion anticlockwise until the potion turns a pale peach colour along with a distinct smell of peppermint
--Now add the unicorn horn with the Valerian root still wrapped around it. The horn should dissolve into the potion within five to seven minutes
--Once the horn has dissolved add the fourteen unicorn tail hairs and continuously stir the potion clockwise for exactly fourteen minutes
--Now add the Moonstone to the potion and as soon as the Moonstone touches the mixture it should turn from pale peach to a bright rose like red
--Next leave the potion for half an hour in the caldron with no heat and stir once clockwise at the start of the half an hour and again at the end of the half an hour
--Finally ladle the potion into as many potion vials as required and store away at room temperature
Effects:
The drinker of the potion will experience 'funny turns', the drinker will feel dizzy and is drawn to a sleep within minutes of drinking the potion. When the drinker wakes up all they can think about and see in the mind is the person who gave them the potion.
Finished Product:

Ingredients:

camphor
half pint of water
teaspoon of rum (for strictly medicinial uses)
Preperation:
powdered moonstone: buy serbian pre powdered moonstone or powder 2inches by 2inches of moonstone in a non-metalic pestle and mortar and put on a small glasss dish.
Syrup of hellbore: Warning, take care when handling buy as a syrup, store in a blackened glass bottle for two hours prior to use.
asphodel : Take two flowers of the plant (about the size of a knut) and crush into a smoth paste, try to contain the silvery moisture of the flower.
Camphor: should be a white transparent waxy crystalline solid, not the plant form. crumble the solid into small breadcrumb sized pieces.
Method: Pour the water into a size 3 pewter couldron DO NOT HEAT. Add the powdered moonstone and the camphor DO NOT STIR. leave for fourty-two seconds before heating, light the fire with your wand. mix the two pastes of the syrup of hellbore and asphodel and pour into the couldron. wait for five minutes. LET THE POTION BOIL, DO NOT STIR. add the teaspoon of rum and wait for a further five minutes. the potion should be black in colour. when this time is up take the couldron immediately off the flame. use a rapidly cooling charm to cool the mixture DO NOT FREEZE. when the mixture is cooled it will turn a metallic black. A Thick layer of paste wil have formed on the surface of potion, carefully take this off and put into a firm dragonhide bottle. this is a concerntrated form of the potion. The rest of the liquid can be safely disposed of. WARNING: THE CONCERNTRATED FORM OF THIS POTION IS HIGHLY COROSSIVE
Dilution: a drop of paste, rougly half a centimeter in diameter diluted to a small goblet of solution will be enough for an average thirty year old man. adgust to fit requirements.

10 pound dragon steak, 1 doxy egg, veela hair, liquid of the person you desire, escence of silver thistle, ale, crushed moonstone and essence of Aphrodite's eyelash.
3. How to prepare each ingredient for brewing< ex. cut the gurdy root into 1 millimetre pieces:
10 pound dragon steak: Chop into fine pieces
Doxy egg: Crack open and filter out liquid. Scrape out the inner "fleshy" skin that is on the shell.
Veela hair: Finely chop.
Liquid of person you desire: Boil and leave to stew for a month.

Put the broken wand into a caouldron full of boiling water. The wood should fly back out of the water but your magical item(phoenix feather, veela hair, etc.) will dissolveand the water should turn blue.
Next you should mix the blood of the unicorn and the veela hair together. the veela hair will shrivel until it dissinegrates and then the magic will be released. Pour the mixture into the cauldron. It should turn to a very gray color.
After that you need to take a ground doxy egg and have your best friend in the entire world point their wand at it and say the spell Obliviate. the doxy egg should let out a gas that will turn into a greenish liquid after about 10 seconds so make sure you cover up the bowl that the doxy eggs were in. Filter out the liquid from the eggs and pour it in. the concoction should stay the same.
Then take your blood and pour it in there. it should turn a dark red.
Next you should swim to the bottom of a lake that is next to your magical school an leave it there for ten days.

Sorry, but, you both have not used very sufficiant grammar, for your genius. You should have used much better grammar than you did. Sorry, but I just realized the potential risks of rating Lily Evans, and Trumpets potions as I did. Trumpet, you recieve a rating score of 23/25. Lily Evans, you got a 24.75 still. I am sorry for lowering your score, Trumpet, but, I see, now, that just saying that you both used insufficiant grammar, was very vague<SP?> of me to do this. Now for your Omission Reports.
Trumpet: Your Potion looked like it was pretty good. But then, I seen what you put for one of your ingredients. 10oz of your own blood, is not plausible. You see a human being can only lose about 12oz of blood with out becoming comatose. If you were to make it plausible, then you would have to extend the potion's brewing time, by 2 months. This gives the blood sufficient enough time to replenish the red blood cell count with in it. So here is what you should do. Split the 10oz in half, and allow the first part to be taken from body, and added to potion. Then, wait 3 weeks, and allow the lost blood within your body to replenish. After this time, you can then take the other 5oz and add it to potion, then continue brewing as you did. Also, you should have listed the 2nd party spell< have someone else you reducto on your wand>, in the ingredients list. I know that this isnt an ingredient but, it is part of the potion, so therefore, should be listed as an ingredient, because, the destroyed wand is added to the potion while brewing it. One last thing you have ommited, was when you told us to add something "Put the and wand in front of you". Well what else besides the wand should we put in front of us?

THE DRAMATIC POTION
(It is recommended you read the instructions thoroughly before attempting the potion) Ingredients:
- 3 nail clippings from a house elf, preferrably from their right big toe, and all of the same elf if possible
- 3 cups of three day old Amortentia
- a 13 cm earthworm that died on a Friday
- a picture of your favourite actor or actress. If you cannot find a picture, then you can draw one ONLY if you have exceptional artistic abilities. The actor's real name must be written on the picture. (for a more interesting result, write the name of a character that they played that you enjoyed in particular)
- leprachaun droppings that have been underneath a willow tree for a week. 6-10 droppings will suffice
- a paper blue napkin or silken blue hankerchief dripping with unicorn boogers. if any colour is used other than blue, your potion will make the drinker think he or she is a rabid starving giraffe that barks
- 2 lacewing flies picked at high noon that have been allowed to dry
- six salamander tails
- two drops of water
- 2 half drops of Veritaserum
- a gold 2L cauldron (although you can use a standard pewter cauldron. Gold cauldrons yeild the most incredible results, so they are preferrable)
- a seperate mixing bowl
- sunglasses
Preparation:
1. In a golden cauldron (although any other cauldron available is good also), pour in the three cups of three day old Amortentia. Light a high heat flame, and stir fifteen times counter-clockwise.
2. Add one toe nail at a time in ten second intervals. Stir three times clockwise after each nail is put inside the cauldron.
3. In your other bowl, combine the lacewing flies salamander tails, droppings and the first half drop Veritaserum. Whisk until mixed well.
4. Pour contents into cauldron and stir twelve times clockwise slowly. Each stir should be twenty seconds long. It should smell like pine.
5. Let the mixture boil for ten minutes. It will be a midnight blue and have blindinlgly bright pink and yellow stars. It is recommended you wear your glasses at this point.
6. Cut the earthworm in 4 equal parts. Add the head's section first. Stir once clockwise. Add the tail, and middle parts in, stirring once in between each earthworm section. Your mixture will be extremely runny, and will be a sky blue with yellow stars.
7. Add water. Do not stir. Turn fire on medium heat.
8. Allow to boil overnight. (at most, 10 hours)
9. By now your mixture will have achienved the consistancy of maple syrup, and will have turned a translucent blue. The stars will have gone from yellow to white. It should smell like peppermint.
10. Drop the soaking napkin or hankerchief in the cauldron. At this point, the mixture will turn a dark red, and you will finally see some smoke issuing from the mixture. Smoke will be in the shape of arrows. Mixture will thicken slightly, but will expand to fill up the rest of the cauldron.
11. Stir mixture thirty times counter-clockwies, BUT after every third counter-clockwise turn, stir once CLOCKWISE. Arrows will turn a pale pink and smell like roses.
12. Holding the photograph or drawing in your RIGHT HAND ONLY, add the last half drop of Veritaserum on top of the picture WITH YOUR LEFT HAND ONLY, saying the actor's or character's name five times. Drop it in the cauldron. Let it fall to the bottom of the cauldron. Stir seven and a half times clockwise.
13. Turn fire on low heat and allow to simmer for three hours.
14. Your mixture will be a scarlet red, and will have blue hearts, bright wihte stars and brown arrows. After the three hours are up, turn off the fire. Let stand for an hour. Mixture will once again be runny.
Effects:
Drinking this potion will make the drinker behave exactly like the name written on the picture of the actor/character for exactly 4 hours, 15 minutes and 22 seconds. There is no antidote to this potion yet, seeing as it's not a poison. This potion is an excellent choice to serve to an unsuspecting guest at a party that you are either attending or hosting.
Unfortunate side effects:
For the bewitched person - you may talk only in limericks for the next half hour.
For the brewer - after the potion wears off, you may get punched on the nose or severely hexed by the now normal person.

- 3 pounds darke chocolate in 1/2 inch chunks
- 2 gallons sea water
- 1 hair of desired colour from a lovely woman
- 1 harp string
Directions
- Under the light of a full moon bring sea water to boil in silver cauldron
- Add faerie wings, hippogriff feathers, sphinx hairs, stirring 3 times clockwise after each
- Allow to stew below a boil for one hour
- Drip essence of salamander into the cauldron, stirring counterclockwise constantly
- Switch stirring to clockwise and immediately begin adding selkie hairs one at a time, if potion becomes markedly colder, increase the rate of stirring
- Lower the potion to a slight simmer
- Pour in the dragon's blood, 1 cup at a time, potion will resume boiling with these additions. If the potion begins to flame, drop in small handfuls of the chocolate until flame is extinguished.
- Add the remaining chocolate and stir 9 times counterclockwise
- Drop in the human hair
- Lid the cauldron tightly.
- The potion must be simmered on alternate days. On opposing days, the cauldron shall be floated in a pool of fresh water. This alternation must continue until the next full moon to ensure the stability of the fire and water elements.
- Under the light of the following full moon, the cauldron may be reopened. The potion will be the colour of moonlight and iridescent like a pearl. It will taste bitter to any woman, but males will taste it as a honeyed wine.
- Bring the potion to a boil and sprinkle the thorns into the cauldron without stirring.
- Sprinkle in the petals as the thorns.
- The potion should now be black with tinges of red with the consistency of tar. The potion should not be drunk at this point. It will smell like a campfire of driftwood.
The potion may be painted onto the shell of the egg. Once the potion dries, tie the harp string about the girth of the egg. Leave the egg in a cool dry place for another 28 days. A faerie-like creature (minus the wings) will hatch out growing to human size within a day and begin to sing that night. Any man who hears the song of the siren will be bewitched to do her bidding.

Cut the rosemary into 5cm pieces
Seperate the belladona and hellebore into 10 gram piles
and cut the lilac sprigs into 7cm pieces
Method:
1. Poor all of your water into the cauldron and turn up the heat to 125 degrees
2. Add a pile of heelebore in the water and stir 13 times clockwise
3. Add a pile of belladona in the water and stir 13 times anti-clockwise
4.Add all of your lilac sprigs and leave your potion for 10 minutes
5.After the 10 minute break add in the rest of the hellbore and stir 7
clockwise
6.Turn the heat down to 110 degrees before adding the belladona
7.After adding the rest of the belladona stir 7 anti clock wise then 7 clockwise
8.Leave the cauldron to cook on 65 degrees and leave for half an hour
9.After half an hour add the rosemary and shimmer on 25 degrees for 5 minutes
10.After 5 minutes turn the heat off and pour the potion into the vials you have
ready
Effects:
To tap into the effect of this potion you must pour the potion on your
opponents wand or weapon of choice and wait for the attack. The moment they
say a spell the wand will turn into rubber. If the use a sword or dagger it will go
right through you. If a gun is used the bullet crumbles when it hits your body.
Finished Potion:
Colour: Teal
Vicosity: This potion should appear thin and should ripple
Smell: Apple Grass

One-and-a-half cups of crushed dragon scales
5 grams of batwing tails
Water (500 millilitres)
1 pound of mixed cashews
Belladona(1 1/2 kilograms)
Hellebore (2 kilograms)
& several dried lilac sprigs

Cauldron (any colour and must be a size 3)
Stirring Rod
Vials
& Mixing bowl
