I heard online that Emma Watson my not continue with her role as Miss Granger. She said she wasnt sure how she would feel about playing Hermione until shes 20. But, some places have been saying shes attached, but what would happen if she didnt return? Who could play her?

I think it would be awful if Emma coulnt play the part anymore. She's perfect for the character. Of course she must have her reasons, but i still hope she can be in the movie. If she cant im wondering what will they do? Maybe a look-a-like casting?

I don't think emma would just stop. I mean she has stuck with it this long, and look at all the fame she has gotten! which she seems to be enjoying... and anyways I cant see anyone else playing hermione. she kinda made that character her own. it would be soo horrible if she stopped. i mean i guess i would feel silly landing a part when i was nine and continuing to play her until i was 20 but she knows that character soo well now. To have some one else play her would be well just ridiculous. Even if this new actress was BRILLANT the movies would not be the same and the chemistry would be like blahhh. Get rid of emma, you get rid of dan and rupert too.

She didn't really say she wouldn't want to do it. Just said she wasn't as certain as Dan and Rupert. That was a recent interview with her. Just a few months ago however, she stated that she wouldn't like someone else playing Hermoine. Considering how much time she will have put into the character, indeed all the main actors, I find it highly unlikely that any of them would willingly not continue to the end. Unless there is an issue with salary disputes or something of that nature I think that Dan, Rupert and Emma will most certainly be there to the end.

There are chances for Emma to leave since she may think that she isn't fit for the character.She seem to older for the character mind you,Iam even saying about Dan and Rupert.It wouldn't be nice of them to remove her but still I wonder that they have chosen the wrong person for the character.

Emma may want to leave to go to university and do as well as she can- look at her GSCE grades! i highly doubt it though.She has been quoted as saying that she is attached to Hermione and would like to continue playing her. I just think that she will wait until nearer the time before she decides if she will play Hermione again.I don't think she wants to be rushed.

I don't hink she'll leave. if dan and rupert are still going to do it then i think she will aswell. besides i read one of her interviews and she said she'd hate it if someone else was to play hermione, becasue she feels that in a sence she's co-created her, which is deffinetly true...there wouldn't be a hermione without her.

I think that some of the tabloids and website rumors about Emma not completing the movies are false. I think this because in an interview Emma said that she would love to complete all the movies, if here age wasnt a problem for the directors. And I beleive the Trio have some sort of contract for the sixth movie, that they will film it. I am not sure about the Seventh but I dont see why she wouldnt want to finish out the movies. They have been a huge step in her career. And whos to say she wont make movies on the side. Both Daniel and Rupert have. She may take their lead, but still continue with the movies..

Imagine if a major caracter would change of actress. It would be horrible. Just wish that if this trully happen, they will take a better choice than for the new Dumbledore. However, I don't know her motive, but I remember once, I saw on internet she didn't like to much to be famous (even if in disk 2 of PoA, she seems to be big-headed)

i dont think emma should stop replacing her just wouldnt be right. i mean its not as if she's really done any other acting things other than harry potter unlike daniel and rupert so if she stopped its not certain she'd get another job. i mean its likely. but not 100% certain. if she has nothing else to do really. then why shouldnt she finish the movies? it just wouldnt right if she stopped. too weird.

no! Emma HAS to stay! She said she wouldn't go and couldn't stand to have another actress play Hermione,I think she'll stay. the only reason she may leave would be because she is getting too old to play hermione, but that would mean the others would have to leave too.

No Emma Watson! That would stink.I think she is an excellent Hermione Granger. I like her in the HP films.I think that she is a good actor. So if she didn't do HBP i think it would be kind of a let down for most people. I am just so used to her being in the HP films. I would feel the same if any of the main characters left.

Stephanie McIntosh (Sky from Neighbours) in my view looks a lot like Emma so she is a great Hermione Granger. I don't want Emma to leave if she did I would be devastated because she is one of my fave trio.

Emma can't leave!!!!!! She's exactly how i imagined Hermione to be!!!!! I think she's great and she shouldn't leave. But i guess i can see it from her point of view, if she stay's with harry potter (the movies) then that means that the whole of her childhood would have been about/devoted to harry potter...
But i hope she stays.

Emma has done this before, especially before she finally agreed to do OOTP. She should just decide what she wants and do it, instead of crying about how undecided she is all the time. They wouldn't have any trouble replacing her, and her role in HBP is much smaller than the previous books anyway.

I think that Emma'a role in HBP is far from small. I also think that as actors from the age of 12 in the movie, this is there whole teenage years they are spending doing this movie. They have no time for other things that most teenagers get to do, and yes they knew this signing up for the movies, but I think we need to take that into consideration. They would have a tremendous act to follow replacing Emma. We've grown with the characters, as well as actors, watching them go from small 12 year olds to 16 year olds. That is an experience you dont see in movies alot. She is a great actress and I think that replacing her with someone will make the movies much less enjoyable. I stand by that if they were to change anyone. Dumbledore was a huge difference but not so much to the point where it will ruin the movie. I think that if Emma does not come back, less people will see the movie out of disappointmen, and if they do go and see it, it will be out of curiousity for the new actor.

Personally.. I am pretty sure, that Emma will play in all HP movies (as well as Dan and Rupert). First because as she said, she is very attached with Hermione, plus... She took an angagement.. You can't just play in 5 moviest then, just for the sake of it get out of the bussiness... I mean, i'm pretty sure that, if Hermione would be played but any other girl, even if she's the most brilliant on this planet would still not be the same. I would just, don't wanna see the movie... Harry Potter is not Harry Potter without Emma (or Dan and Rupert).. And there have been a lot of rumors like this about all three of them.. And until now, nothing was true... The age isn't really a problem.. I mean, i just saw a movie, in whitch the character is 16 and the actor 24 so..this IS an age difference... But come on..With all the technology and make up this days everything is possible... So.. I really think that she will play in the next 2 movies and, if she won't... Well, let's just asume that she will...

I can't believe she said that . I know it's not something big and she is only thinking about it but it would totally mess things up. I can understand why she would want to stop because she wants a life etc but to give up the last 2 films, if she did she might have regrets because to everyone she is Hermione and the fact some one else would get the recognition for what she built would be bad. While I agree it would be horrible if Emma decided not to continue playing Hermione Granger, I wouldn't worry about that just now. Besides, Warner Bros. usually waits until close to the end of filming to discuss the next film with the actors, so I understand her statement. It's unwise to commit yourself to a movie/job without having read the script.

Replacing Emma or Dan or Rupert is not the same thing as replacing Richard Harris. Harris died (God rest him). Fans understand that a man cannot act in a movie after he dies. This lessened the backlash against replacing him. Without Emma, people would complain why Warner Bros. did not do everything they could to get her (the same as Sean William Scott for American Wedding). Losing one character because they don't want the role anymore would anger people much worse.

If Emma doesn't want to do 6 and 7, good luck to her. Money is not everything, everyone should just leave her alone to decide what she wants to do. People leave movie series to do other things all the time. They would replace her quite easily.

I truely hope that Emma stays. But I do know that she herself said she was debating it. In an interview in a magizine, I completely forget which one, she said that she doesn't know if she wants to keep playing Hermione, but instead go to school. Apperently, she got near-perfect marks in school. If she doesn't come back, I'm not so sure that the movies will do as well. It just wouldn't be right to replace one of the trio.

Emma Watson not continuing in my eyes, is possibly the worst thing that could happen to the movies. Emma IS Hermione, she's perfect for the role, even JK has agreed that she thought so from the first phone call. If she leaves, they may aswell just cancel the whole thing. Warner Bros profits would suffer badly, I think they would do anything to get her to stay...

A new actress playing Hermione...no offence to the lucky girl but the thought of it makes me kind of sick! Whoever they replace her with would never be as good...in any way. It would completely ruin the movies and I for one would be so torn at whether to keep watching, Don't get me wrong I love Harry Potter and couldn't imagine not watching movies six and seven. But it's unbearable to think of watching someone else play Hermione. I just have to hope, for the sake of my life that she continues. (Ok just kidding...or am I? )

However, if Emma chose to leave and wanted to do something else with her life, obviously there would be alot of people who would hate her for it... which is just stupid because she has a right to do anything she wants. No 'biggie', perhaps to you, but can you say that you have worked hard on the same project for 9 years of your life? She really lost her chance to be a teenager, and if she doesn't want to continue with it then I totally respect her decision. Although I do think she does a marvelous job as Hermione Granger, and would love to see her finish out the series.

Actaully she was 10, so it would be 10 years...if the last movies is going to be relaesed in 2010. But I think that she will keep playing Hermione. I mean, it's not like she was the first movie and decided to stop, she's done 5 out of 7. I couldn't image any one else playing her, and she seems to really enjoy playing Hermione. She loves the R/Hr part of it. She'll stick around is my guess. I'm not worried.

Are you sure you read that? Because I've only read Rupert and Tom have signed...but not even properly yet. If you could find it for us that would be great, but I don't think she has signed anything. Surely it would have been on vtm?

Having one of the trio leave would be absolutely devastating! Weather it be Dan, Emma, or Rubert. Although I would respect their choice because I understand where they are coming from, I would still be sad! Having no Emma would just ruin the last two movies! It would be just like what happened with Richard Harris and Micheal Gambon. No one really gave him a fair chance. Each character is different to each person. He was just potraying Dumbledore as he percieved Dumbledore to be! But if we were to loose the girl who had built up Hermionie, that would be horrid!

Can't say I'd blame her if she did bow out of the remaining HP films. Look what she has to look forward to in HBP, and who knows what in the final book! OMG! Emma Watson can't quit! It would be to big of a change if they got a new actor/ actoress for Harry, Ron, or Hermione this far into the films. It would be to weird to have to get used to a new face! I thought the change in actors for DD was bad too, but the first one died.

The only bad thing is that if she does not play Emma it will not feel the same way, those three actors have made like a bond and it would be weird to watch the movie and not see Emma playing the character. It was hard enough to conform to the Dumbledore change but that is a different story.

If Emma Watson left the role of Hermoine, the chemistry between Hermoine, Harry, and Ron will just not be there. Emma Watson has really developed the character and made it her own. If someone else played Hermoine for the last two films, it would be strange and not right at all. I doubt she will leave the part but if she does I will understand but will be much saddened. A new actress, even a brilliant one, cannot replace Emma Watson as Hermoine.
