I already introduced myself in the other thread, but I hope it's okay to do it again since more people will be reading this?

My name's Marieke, I live in Holland, I'm 17 years old and I'll be graduating from high school this year. I hope my exams will be alright; I certainly don't look forward to them! I usually don't have much time after school for other things than homework and a bit relaxing, which is a shame, because I'd like to hang out more with my friends. On Fridays I have ballroom and latin lessons (I've been doing this for one year), on Saturdays ballet (I've been doing this the longest: thirteen years already). I like dancing a lot. I like doing sports; I've done tennis, ice skating, ice dancing, gymnastics, jazz ballet, tap dance, swimming, judo... but, again, I don't have time for that at the moment...
Perhaps I have time for some drawing, writing or reading in Christmas Holiday. I hope so.

I'm not really new to fora. I've been on a Dutch killer whale forum (called "Blackfish") for about two years now, and on the Orca Adventure Forum for a couple of months. Ah, yes, another interest of mine: dolphins and whales. I'd like to do research when I'm done with university, but maybe by that time I've found something else I'd like to do by then.

I'm planning to study biology when I've graduated from high school, in Groningen University ("Rijks Universiteit Groningen"). I think I'll choose to do marine biology as my major, then ecology as a minor and something else as well, then do my masters in marine biology. Maybe I like ecology better, I don't know; I'll see when I'm studying.

About Harry Potter... I have both the Dutch and English versions hard cover. I really like them, but who doesn't, on this forum?

Hey! My name is Megan, I'm 14 (turning 15 in 2 months) and I started reading Harry Potter back when....hmmm I think I was in third grade. I love the books, I have all of them and I read them constantly. The movies are pretty good too, I love how they do the special effects for the magic but I hate how they cut things out. Personally I would have no problem sitting in a movie theater for a six-hour movie; in fact, I would enjoy it as long as there was like a halftime or something so I could go to the bathroom

I am pretty athletic and I like to participate in sports. I did soccer for four years, and this year I tried out field hockey for the first time and it was really fun! I also run a lot, and I love to read and write!

I already posted another introduction, but I will post one here too! My name is Kathryn, 22, and I live in Lawrence, KS where I go to the University of Kansas. I've already graduated (May 2006) and though I was going to finish another major, but I've decided to take some more classes in my previous major--anthropology (one of the ones I already graduated with, the other was religious studies). Then I'd like to go to grad school for cultural anthropology in about a year or so.

I started reading the HP books when one of my roommates brought them to our house quite a few years ago (I had seen 1 or 2 of the movies previously). My favorite characters are probably Dumbledore and Snape. My favorite ones are GOF and the Half Blood Prince. However, one of my favorite books ever is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, which I think EVERYONE should read! . I also am a dork and love shopping for and reading anthropology and religion books. I also like philosophy and love to have stupid and ridiculous conversations.

I love being with my friends and family. I love going out and having a good time with my friends...usually this involves one of my other favorite things...beer (I love trying new beers and going to breweries). I also love to bake and cook.

My favorite season of the year is....Basketball Season! I love KU Basketball and also enjoying watching football. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!!

I'm glad to see from some of the other posts that there are other moms out there who like HP. I have 2 kids in love with HP right along with me. I have to admit it took me awhile to get into HP, but now that I am, I am totally in love with it.
Harry, Dumbledore, and Sirius are my favorites.

I love this website. It's the only one I have found so far that does house sortings, animaguses, patronuses, wands, and lots of other stuff like that! I think that's cool!

i am also enjoying this website. I found it last night while trying to look up info on Book 7 and Ootp movie release. It is wonderful to find that you are in good company in the world. I too am a mom you started on the series a little late but am now totally addicted to it. My daughter loves the movies and now is starting to read the books (she is only 9 so they are quite a challenge for her).

My favorite characters are Hermione and Ginny. And I totally miss Richard Harris as Dumbledore (may he R.I.P). I was hoping that Sir Ian Mckellen would take over in the role but I am sure that was in another thread.

I think the interaction on this site is why I joined. I have been checking out mugglenet over the last year or so and love that site too. It is fun to see everyones thoughts on the upcoming movie and book. It is also nice to see that I am not the only one who thinks there is more than what you see in the stories. These books can really come to life.

I hope to talk more with you all while we await the newest and possible last book in the series.

I'm 16 (nearly 17 just thirty more days!!) and I live in the good old USA.

I started reading the HP books this summer after spending six weeks at a ballet intensive in the same suite as a HP fan. She got me hooked. Now I love all the books, and most... ... of the the movies. I can't wait for the seventh book to come out, and was nearly jumping up and down in my theater seat yesterday when i went to go see Happy Feet and low, and behold the OotP Trailer came on the screen (my brother was so embarrassed by my enthusiasm, he told me to "grow up" but he's only 11 how cute is that!)

Yes, so I dance, ballet, modern, jazz, and tap (My total time spent dancing per week is 24 hours, on a light week.), and i play the piano, like strictly classical (not by choice either)

I love the books because they have such abstract concepts in them, the idea of people's memories being opened up for all to see. the possibility of horcruxes, and my favorite, the mirror of Erised. (from my avatar) Showing us deep down, who we really are.

I have been reading the harry potter books since i was in about grade 5 and never really got into this whole online forums and theories n thing till recently. I absoulutly love the books more then anything. I also love the movies, the images that they help us create when we read the books is great and its good entertainment, OoTP is probably the biggest thing im looking foward to in the coming year, ( also the prospect of the 7th book being released soon)

I think they books carry with them great messages that people of all ages listen to. The idea of love and friendship is something that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I feel as if i am attached to each of the characters and i love it. There are just too many things to name when it comes to praising the books.

Hello, I'm quite new here and still learning how to do things. I'm Michelle, and even though I don't disclose my age, I'll tell you yesterday was my birthday (November 24). I live in the southern part of the United States, and I'm on Newspaper staff at my school. I'm really a shy person, but I'll open up to people I like. I enjoy writing, reading, doodling, listening to music, and graphic design.

I am a huge HP fan, and I read the first book when I was nine years of age. My favorite book would have to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because it has so much emotion and depth. My favorite movie was Prisoner of Azkaban. I do not have one specific favorite character, but I like Harry, Hermione, Lupin, and Dumbledore. I am very eager to see the next movie, and I've watched the trailer probably over 50 times. I really do like the series because the friendship, courage, and loyalty is just wonderful.

I am also writing a fan fiction, and if anyone could tell me if and where we can post them on Veritaserum for constructive criticism and such, I'd really appreciate it!

My real name is Sandra and I'm from Australia and I'll stop there with the details on my location because for the majority Australia is enough of a description as it's not well known for it's obvious cities and places such as America is.
Anyhoo I love HP surprise, surprise, my favourite book is OOTP which means I'm over the moon and constantly checking the net for updates on the movie. I love everyone in the books for various reasons its just like with my other obsessions, the lord of the rings, once you watch or read t so many times you can't pick favourites but the standouts are Hermione in her similarities to me, Hagrid for his innocence, Dumbledore for his wisdom and likeness to Gandalf, Luna for her relief she provides in such a hectic world and Tonks just because she's a little different and out there.
Um what else I love to dance sing and act, I recorded my first cd the other day! I love music theatre anyone in America who saw wicked did you love it because we won't see it for years, I hsve no pets though I wish I did, I love the beach, and lord of the rings as previously mentioned but the other obsessions include narnia, pirates and gilmore girls, my close friend is equally obsessed in all these areas so it's good to have an equal. You only joined two days ago Please be patient with the staff who run the sorting threads. They commit to do them at the same time as trying to have a life too - they all work, go to school, have families and other things going on that means they can't be here 24/7 to sort people. They'll get back to you within a few days and personally, I think that's just fine. Really now, it's not exactly a life and death situation for you to get sorted, now is it?

Dislikes: When parents wake you up at 8:30am when you went to bed at 2:00, emotionally sensitive people, people who make everything a big deal, big loads of homework, my public speaking teacher, constant e-mails that say 'You received a message/comment/whiteboard drawing from _______", people who annoy me for no reason, my brother's old attitude, public toilets, movie cinema seats that are covered with disgusting mysterious substances and you have to sit next to the substance for the whole 2 and a half hour movie, people who over-use make-up, people who are 13, and try to look 16, abusive people, people who offend my friends, people who hurt my friends, petty year 7 fights (had plenty of those, though they were never between me and a friend), people who hurt me, people who don't think before they say things, people who have no sympathy, people without empathy, people who insult my precious friend Emma when she did nothing wrong, YOU RULE EMMA!, people who annoy Gracie, she is just the bomb, awesome friend there, you never want to insult her.... EVER!, people who try to understand my mind; give up, it's never gonna work, my dad's temper, bees and wasps - they hurt, people who try to protect me from things I want to take on myself, people who wash their hair everyday, people who try to conform too often, people who break rules for no reasons, people who make fun of someone because they're a 'nerd' when the person is actually so much better than the one teasing, people that change around different people, people who care for nothing or no one but themselves, people who hate dogs, people who hug excessively, people who criticise you on your beliefs, people who say 'Don't say 'Oh My God', that's swearing on your God.' and then go and say the exact thing, hypocrites, cheaters, people who boast without caring for anyone else's feelings, and many more...

It feels like such a long time since I was here, posting things on forums and fanfics. Ahh, I love it. Haha, it's summer at the moment, not winter, haha . But bloody hell, it's HOT. We've had days that have reached 38 degrees celsius IN SPRING. Nice theory though, . I find it odd when I go to America (been there once) and there is snow at Christmas... it's just... not normal... haha .



Hey, nice to meet you too, . Haha, Australia is AWESOME. I love it here, it has everything I need, and I love the climate. Most people, when they come to Australia, say how much they loved it, for some RANDOM reason... it's not THAT good... haha, . It's awesome to live here, I suggest it as a holiday location in summer. Our beaches rule, and I'm sure everyone would love the beautiful climate. Watch out for the mosquitoes, though, they annoy you so much! Well, me really, see, they seem to like my blood, and they annoy me. I hate them. You also probably didn't need to know that... oh well, !

There is a question I've seen on the more recent posts that maybe I can help with.

A couple of people have said that their old membership disappeared. Yep, they had a clean sweep a few months back and deleted memberships that hadn't been used for awhile. We like to keep things neat and tidy if we can. But it's not such a bad thing to sign up again, except you have to start your post counts again. The best way to prevent it is to post regularly.

One thing I did want to mention is that, even though signatures are a lot of fun, and can be a great way to let people know more about you, VTM does have a rule regarding them--they should be no longer than five lines. That can be one row of pictures and four lines of text, anything you like, but if your siggie is longer than that, you might want to consider moving some of your signature information to your personal profile. If you don't change it, a moderator most likely will at some time, and it just feels better to do it yourself, I think.
