I am a big fan of harry potter
I owe my love of Potter to the movies because i tried reading the first book before the movies came out and i just couldn't get through the first five chapters. Then i decided to just see the movie and it was so good. I went onto the second harry potter book after seeing Sorceror's (or Philosopher's) Stone. I got so caught up in harry potter that i was halfway through Goblet of Fire before i realized I NEVER FINISHED READING #1!!
So i stopped reading Goblet and pocked up Sorceror's Stone. After that i continued on the series untill the end of Goblet. It was still atleast another year before they realeased Pheonix so what did i do? Read them again! I know this seems a little weird but i remember how many times i read each book
1: 5 times
2: 4.23 times (Stopped on Florish and Blotts to read Hallows again)
3: 4 times
4: 4 times
5: 3 times
6: 3 times
7. 2.101 times (almost done with chapter 4)
(my decimals are just esimations)

Now about myself:
I am an 18 year old MtF TG (basicaly that means i am a guy who wants to be a girl)
I live in NY of the USA
I aspire to be a writer but i also want to be a teacher or therapyst to back up and support my writing ambition
and Futurama is my favorite show (much better than family guy cause at least it's going somewhere in an overall storyline)

Hey! I'm Mallory. I'm 15 years old, from a tiny place in Canada. It's really, really pretty here, but being a teenager in such a small place kind of makes you want to shoot yourself in the eye. You have to make your own kind of fun. Mine would be running around the whole city with my 3 best friends with unlimited amounts of energy drinks. We play on escalators and in elevators (we're like a security guard's nightmare.), and will seriously walk from one end of town to another just for fun. (It's only an hour walk, so it's not that bad).
I'm actually a lot more mature than that made me sound.
I write a lot. I read a lot. I basically just like literature in general.
I really started reading Harry Potter in 7th grade, so about 3 years ago? or something ...
Before that, I was convinced I hated Harry Potter because I was in a phase.

hey people! my name is michaela, i won't bother telling anyone my surname coz it's kinda difficult to pronounce! i live in cape town which is in south africa. it's very beautiful here and theres normally always sunny weather. i'm 15 years old at the moment but i turn 16 in may. the bad thing about living in SA is that i can only get my drivers when i'm 18 which really sucks! my gender is obviously female and i'm chinese. i don't speak chinese which i know is really weird but it doesn't bother me so much. i speak fluent english and afrikaans though! (afrikaans is a south african language. its a combination of english and dutch.) i attend a school called brackenfell high and i'm in grade 10. my hobbies are ballet, art, shopping( if i can call it one) and other sports. i'm not new to veritaserum. i just don't have enough time to post a lot of stuff. i love animals, food(i'm not fat though!), shopping again, teddy bears, hanging with my friends, watching movies and reading HP books which in my opinion are lke the best books in the world! i hate people who are fake, they're just so annoying, and i hate accounting. its such an irratating subject. i don't even know why i take it! okay, i think i have to go coz i've said way too much already!

Well, I figured that it was about time I wrote in this thread! My name is Bree, an I'm 16, and will be 17 this June. I have been a HP fan since the age of 12. I own the entire book series in hardcover, and every movie on special edition. I also have FB&WTFT and QTTA. :] I'm a bit obsessed. Besides HP related things, I am an avid artist of all different forms of mixed media, and write poetry and stories. Mostly I make movies (I go to a special high school for Video Production classes half of the day). I also like to read and learn new things. hmm, I love music and other people's artwork, and can spend hours in a library. I also love to hang out with people and going to cafe's. And I love to go around places and shop. I love to have deep conversations with people to further my knowledge on different aspects of life. I came across Veritaserum by reading about this place on a writer's site from FanFiction.net (she's a great writer too!).

I'm a CANON fan, so that means I'm a very strong supporter of Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks, etc. The only couple who isn't canon that I love is Neville/Luna...gosh, they're so awesome!

I loved DH and although alot of people think that epilouge was absolutely corny (and I agree), I liked it. It was just what the books needed and I loved that as an ending.

I've read each book a considerable amount of times and i'm currently re-reading te 6th one. My favourite out of the seven as to be 7th because you find out all the missing links to everything and its very deep and of course because it as a happy ending. hehe. My favourite film would have to be the 5th i just think each one gets better as the series goes on. I know they changed a lot of things in the stories but i enjoyed them anyway even though they annoyed me a first, the films amazing qualities shone through.

I love the franchise movies that are/were going on in the early 2000's. The only bad thing about it was that they have to end.

My Favorite book/movie Franchise is Lord Of The Rings. Sorry, there it is. Amazing books, difficult read, & with so many addtional books with storylines & etc. that was omitted from the trilogy & The Hobbit. Hoepfully, the Hobbit will be made.

I finally gave in & Bought all the books this past summer & read 1 -7. They were pretty quick reads for me & I did enjoy the books. But, I do see where fans have problems with the movies.

Well...My name is Dawn and I'm 24! I can't believe I just said that. I'm a newbie. I've been reading HP for years and keep re-reading the books. I was a little surprised at how many adults love Harry Potter (even my mom likes it). I think I drive my Hubby a little nuts sometimes. A bunch of my friends and I talk about HP all the time. We can't wait for the new movie to come out...hopefully it's better then OOTP. We were disappointed. But the book still rocks!
I have 2 dogs, 5 cats, and 4 fish. I have a habit of rescuing animals...can't help it. I guess if house elves were real then I'd consider changing my name to Hermione LOL! Well... I guess that's all for now.

I kind of understand what you mean in regards to reading books. I finally bought all 7 books this summer( august) & read all of them( backwards). I am no re-reading HBP. But, me & my husband & Kids are Ringers. We re read & watch the EE versions of Rings at least twice a years.

This isn't an area that I tend to frequent very often, but I'm glad that I popped in today. It's great to see so many 'older' readers here.

Panther2000, I have 3 kids and a husband too, so you're not alone in that area.And Dawn/Hermione 17, I thought I'd die the first time I admitted my age on here, now I don't care! I think the age ranges from kids as young as 10 or 11 to us oldies and beyond, I think we have one member in her 50's! Still, the whole point of this forum is to discuss the one thing we have in common. Harry Potter and the world around it.

Panther2000...yes I do think I have ENOUGH animals. But unlike you and etphonehome (love the name by the way) I don't have any kids yet...so my pets are like my kids. I think of them as my babies LOL. What's funny is that a pregnant black cat showed up at my door step a few days ago. I haven't let her in though. My husband got the bright idea of feeding her...now she won't leave! So the impending pregnancy is inevitable...I'll have no choice but to try and help. I'm [deleted] Dr. Doolittle I tell ya. Never feed an expecting Mother, she will never leave. & if she is walking on 4 feet forgetaboutit. My father was a vet. So I grewup with dogs, chicks( for easter) rabbits & such. I just have 1 cat for now. But, a lady I work with has the same problem. Every stray within a few blocks just knows to go to her house. Because, she will always take them in. & her daughter & grandchildren are the same way. They have to sneak new animals into the house so their Husband/father won't flip out.

Animals are alot smarther than people give them credit for. they pertty much know where to go for help( most of the time)

Okay since I'm still a newbie...and your suppose to talk about yourself in here...I thought I would share something funny. Ummmm....not to sure that VTM is safe! And by this I mean I've been on here for like 5 days or so (I think) and for the past 2 or 3 nights I've been having HP dreams (never had them before) LOL!!! Most of them was about me getting sorted...getting my wand...finding out which maurder I am..and so on. All the questions that newbies usually do when they first sign up here. So these dreams are okay...all in good fun. I started getting a worried though when I was dreaming about my persian cat (Skyler) getting sorted..getting his wand and so on. I sleep smooshed in the middle of my hubby and skyler (the magic cat) so when I woke up he kinda startled me. Wasn't sure if I should disarm him or what! Anyway...I think I should spend a little less time on here...So just some funny thoughts...hopefully it will get some of you laughing a little. And just to let everyone know...no spells where used...And my cat is still waiting for his letter! LOL

My name's Giulia, as you can see from the nickname, and I live in Venice, Italy. I'm 19 and I'm attending an art university (the translation could be something like "visual and theatrical arts"...?).

I'm in love with Harry Potter since I was 12 - from the moment I read the first chapter of the Philospher's stone I got lost forever My favourite books are the 6th and the 7th and well, I love almost all the characters... The Weasley twins are probably two of my favourites (I can't remember how long I cried when Fred died...!) but it's incredibly difficult to say who's number one in the chart. I have to say I have many things in common with Hermione, for I'm quite ambitious (uh, hope it's the right spell) at school and sometimes I can be annoying... eheh

I found Veritaserum when I was looking for a simple site about HP, with informations in sinthetic form (ugh... I guess I've made a mess in this sentence). And I was looking for different opinions about the books, so I thought it would have been nice to enter the forum.
I'm not a computer-lover, so maybe I'll make some mistakes when I'll post... Sorry!

I'm really looking forward to learn how to use this forum properly, 'cause it looks like there are a lot of intresting things to read (wow, there is a sorting hat!)

The sorting threads are run by volunteers, the sorting hat thread by our very own Head Aurors. Most sorting threads ahould be updated within a week maximum, most will be done more frequently. The sorting hat is normally done every couple of days, but sometimes it can be longer as well as shorter.

I hope that you can appreciate that all members of staff do have to fit their real life responsiblities in with their responsibilities here at VTM but rest assured you won't be forgotten. Just keep checking back to the sorting thread where you results will be posted.

Hi, I'm Ali, and I am infact a newbie to this site. Shocking, I know. I have been in love with Harry Potter for as long as I can remember, ever since I first read Philosphers Stone. The idea of being able to escape to the world that the always incredible JK Rowling has created has slowly but surely become one of my biggest comforts. I cannot wait until HBP finally comes out in the cinemas.... I can't wait for the whole "WON WON!" side of things.
Anyway, I live in South Australia, I adore writing, and I have a slightly weird talent of being able to connect anything my English teacher says to the class, back to something I read in Harry Potter. My favourite Harry Potter characters would have to be Ginny Weasley, Sirius Black, and the Weasley Twins. Not quite sure what else to sat here......so I think I'll leave it at that. As supposedly the rest of you, I am also quite new here, what a shock! I think it is a really great place so far, cannot wait to explore more of it.
Well, a little bit about myself:
I come from Denmark, a little country in Europe (in case you are wondering, yes, we were the ones with the dreadful drawings of Muhammed, but we are 1992 European Champions of football/soccer). I am 18 years old, and attend the gymnasium/highschool, currently ending 2. year (exams are coming up ) I am pretty good in school. try to be the best, but sadly, I'm not.
My hobbies are golf, friends, music and of cause reading! I have recently been introduced to Twilight <3.
Harry Potter has been my great love since my mother gave me book #1 in 1997, I was only seven years old, but I just loved it, and have ever since. Think the books are incredible.
Me and one of my mates Vicki (who introduced me to this site) have a talent of making Harry Potter an object of debate in our English and Danish classes. I suppose some of my classmates must be sick of it, so it is great that I've found this place to talk about it.

I'm, obviously new, but i don't get on the forums that much i just come here every now and then. Still, that never stops me from liking the stories that brought everyone here together. I actually just got done from binging on reading them all again. Despite the fact that the movies brought the books serious injustice, i still can't wait for Half-Blood Prince and even more for both Deathly Hallows movies. Then there will be nothing really else to wait for.. sucks. I'm also live in south-eastern u.s.a.

Hi there.

Well, let me start off with the basics. My name is Matt, and I am 15 years old (16 in August). I come from a small town in southern Illinois, about a half hour away from St. Louis. I will be a sophmore in high school this year. I've been a fan since the 02-03 school year when I was in fourth grade. My teacher introduced me to Harry Potter, and after reading the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, I fell in love with the series.

The first book I bought was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I waited in line at Wal-Mart for it to come out with my dad. Ever since then, I waited in line for the rest of the books at Wal-Mart as well. It is by far my favorite book/movie series ever.

I found this forum while doing a random Google search tonight, and it seems like a really neat place. Since it's summer and all my friends are either grounded or on vacation, I'll likely be here alot during the day.

I think that's pretty much it! Hope to see many of you around posting.
