Why do you love Dumbledore? I love him for everything. He's really great. I hope he doesn't die, but I think he will anyway.

My! That's a hard one to choose from...I love him for all of the reason!! So, can I say 'all of the above' reason?

Anyway, he's surely something at MoM...it's like another side of him we don't know cause he used to be like so calm and sure and jovial kind of man...

I like him the moment I read how he replied to mcgonagall when they send Harry off to the dursley.Let see if I can find the quote...here it is:

Aw...you know...I'm probably going to get things hurled at me for this, but I'm not that fond of him at all really. To be honest, I think that JKR has made him a bit too Superman-ish, as I've said before...and I think he takes far too much responsibility onto himself and doesn't appear to allow his trust to extend further than his immediate circle (like Mcgonagall). That refusal resulted in someone's death and I think that even DD realised that in the end, which is part of the reason why he was so upset at the end of OotP.

I don't know....I mean, I do like the guy really....but there's just a few things about him that irritate me and the things I've mentioned are just two of them....

Hmm, it's not like I hate the guy, but he's not one of my favorite characters.

He knows a lot of things (which sounds like an understatement to me, lol). But the fact that he's just so subtle and not willing to share that makes me so frustrated whenever it gets to the end of the book (you know, when Harry and Dumbledore have their annual meeting after dealing with Voldemort). I know he has his reasons for not sharing certain things, but everything he says is just soooooo vague sometimes.

I know that everyone can trust Dumbledore, but the fact that he seems passive (but it's not like he really is) most of the time about school problems that makes it seem like he doesn't really care. Okay, he does, but it's like he can pull anything out of his pointy hat and it's the solution to the whole problem (which can be incorporated into Dana's comment about being a 'superhero') He makes it seem just so easy, so I don't know, it just seems like he doesn't really care.

He seems to pick favorites too. You know, Harry out of all the students. Just because he's their savior doesn't really...okay I sound like Malfoy now. But you get what I mean, heh.

Other than that, I still Dumbledore's a great guy. He's funny, and really intelligent. He puts his good priorities first, and knows what matters. Although I think that he's going to die at the end of the series, I'll still be extremely upset.

I voted for the eyes because of Richard Harris'. I firmly believe Michael Gambon is not as good an Dumbledore, but I don't know anyone who could be.

The main reason that I like Dumbledore is humorous little quotes like the earmuff one & his style like in OOTP where he disappears with Fawkes.

I don't appreciate his omnipresence & I think JKR is toning that down over the last few books.

Of course there is something powerful with him. There always has been. He's just as strong as Voldy or even more, it's just that he won't sink to Voldy's level and use certain spells.

i like him for everything!! more specifically because he is soo cool towards harry!!

Dumbledore jus simply can't get any better!

to tell you the truth i dont know why i like dumbledore. maybe because i find him funny, or he is just a character that u cant help but like or get attached to. either way dumbledore is cool.

i like him, because:

*he has got style
*he really cares for Harry and Co
*he is the only one Voldemort ever feared
*he is really wise
*is is sometimes really funny

Well I really like him because he's the nicest, wisest, most caring person you'll ever meet. But if you cross him he'll make you pay.


For me Richard Harris will always be Dumbledore to me, because of the fact that I saw the movies before I read the books and so when I read the books he was the person I imagened as Dumbledore.

I like Dumbledore but he is not my fave character.

I like him because he is so calm but can also be very scary when he is angry. He is as wise as an owl and seems to know of everything going on in the world. I also like him because he can be very funny sometimes and he has got style!

I don't like him because he is very secretive and does not tell others what he is up to. And also as Doomed_Renascene said. he seems to be too amazing and carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He has a solution to everything. Also he seems to pick favourites which is not fair.

I really admire him on how he handles the situation on Hogwarts and on how he knows everything. It's also amazing how he treats the faculty as if they are really family.

I like him because he's the only wizard Lord Voldemort has ever feard, and of coures because he's so smart, always a resolution to everything and the scene's including him gives you a really good impression of him, and he's funny, from time to time

I love him because he is the only wizerd that Voldy fears. That fact alone makes him so much more intoresting and mysterius.

I love Dd because of his wisdom, his elegance, his style. I like that he is not a broken-down old man leaning on his cane, but a quick and bright one. He gave Harry good basics in the fight against Voldemort, taught him in a strange, but hopefully useful way. His character was really needed, and I'm really curious what Harry will do now that he is gone.

the reason why I love Dumbldroe is Because he loves harry Potter so much he tried his hardest to help harry find the Locket AKA the Horcrux he helped harry in so many ways showed him memories that will help him. let him see his parents in the pensieve. he did so much for harry and that is why i like him so much

I love DD because he knows everything.. Mostly everything, hes the most powerful wizard and feared by Voldemort, He loves Harry alot and teaches him good things.

That's a very hard decision. I was torn between Dumbledore is so smart, knows like evrything and he is the only one Voldie fears. I think I like him so much because he's so incredible intelligent but doesn't show off with that and fight's against Voldie. But he's still on the good side. I think if he was evil, there wouldn't be much left for Voldie and the rest of the human race (magical or not)...

Dumbledore is the smartest wizard out there, which also includes he knowing everything.
He's very passionate about his school and students. He's hardworking, and humble. I love that about him. If there is anyone who has the right to show off, it's him, but he doesn't!
He's also very caring...you could see that by how he's always putting his life on the line inorder to make sure that Harry is safe.

i love dumbledore for all of the above reasons, and more. he is nobel, open minded and so accepting of other people and other people's beliefs. he is so passionate, and although he could have easily become the minister for magic, he didnt want to due to his love for the school.

It's amazing how much he knows, considering he hasn't lived for a huge amount of time (think Nicholas Flamel). He just seems to understand everything about anything (apart from Horcruxes, he didn't really know much about those) and could tell anyone anything they wanted to know because he knows it all himself. Apart from that, I think it's really interesting how Voldemort only fears Dumbledore from when he was at school, you would have thought he'd get over it eventually... I hate to think what's going to happen now Dumbledore's gone.

Dumbledore is just pretty darn awesome. I said because he can be scary when he wants to be- I've never really achieved doing that myself

The book Dumbledore is cool even in the gravest turmoil, yet can shake the bones of an enemy at a glance. He thinks before acting & knows just what to say to make a troubled character feel better. He is thoughtful, extremely intelligent (without ego) has heart, yet is not a fool. If I reach Dumbledore's age & posses half of his character, that will be saying something.

The great thing about Albus is his love of history; perhaps he can write a nice biography on Tommy M Riddle.

I love dumbledore's character because of the fact that he is so knowledgable about so many things. He knows that he is just as powerful as Voldemort, but he does not abuse his powers. He could probably kill Voldemort in an instant, but doesn't because that is not him.

I like Dumbledore so much becuase he is the only person you know who fears and he is sooo smart , he knows like practically everything !!

it was really hard to choose one quality about dumbledore that i like the best. i love his humor, how he cares sooo much for harry, how he knows EVERYTHING, how he scares voldemort, and how he knows all the right things to do.

I think dumbledore's love of Harry is why everyone including me loves him so much, the way he is very imposing but most of the time seems to be a little comic relief when things are getting really strained and intense he'll say something that none of the characters laugh at but the reading will giggle about

I like him mainly for being funny and smart. He picks the oddest of passwords, likes sherbet lemons and comes up with some really good lines, even when staring at his own death. hes always calm and hes like a father to hp. who couldnt like him!

I really like Dumbledore because he knows everything. He is so wise and comes up with theories for everything and can solve riddles really easily. He is unique like Harry thinks in HBP when he opens the cave just using his hands. That is why I love DD.

I love Dumbledore because he's just such a lovable character. He's funny and wise yet formidable and intimidating at the same time. He's like everyone's favorite grandfather, the guy who you could sit with for hours and just listen to his awesome stories. He's the guiding light in Harry's life, and the bane of Voldemort's existence. I cried so hard when he died in HBP. The loss of Dumbledore is huge, and I'll miss him terribly in the last book (though I still hold out hope that he'll return somehow).

'ter Dumblydorr... I donts know, likin's everting about 'ter guy. Sorry, to much Hagrid there... any whoo, about Dumbledore, I like his character, always calm, always willing and wont go down without a fight, amazing dude.

Dumbledore rocks! I love him for everything, but especially because he always knows and understands everything. Like, he's the only one who understood that it was possible that Sirius was innocent. That's why he's the only one who believed Harry and Hermione at first. Then it's also great that he stand by Harry so much. 'Cause Harry is an orphan, after all, so he doesn't have parents to care for him.

I can't wait to see the death scene in movie 6. I know that's sad and all, but it's just interesting to see how the actors will handle it. The actor playing Dumbledore better nail it!

The one thing that I really like him for wasn't up there. I like him because he brings such funny humor to the books! His little thing about the muggle knitting patterns, his funny little quotes about how he set the curtains on fire,...I like it that even though he is something that seems should be an awesome and strong kinda guy, he is totally the opposite of that ideal. He has these little quirks about him that lighten up the books.

I love Dumbledore. I love his intelligence and wisdom. He is witty and quick-minded. He is always in control of his actions and calm and collected. He knows not to let things get to him. He's the kind of person whom you could go to for advice and be able to get a thoughtful response.
He's honest and caring, truly a great guy and an amzing wizard.

I like him because of his intellegence, his power, his love for all things, his understanding of the way things are and should be and his lack of fear. I also like that fact that nothing rocks his boat no matter what happens. Even in his last breath did he keep his politness and his cool. He holds all the right aspects in the way a good person should. Did he make mistakes, yes but again we are all human. I also like the fact he ran to his own tune and not with the crowd.

I would have voted for something like him saying random things. For example: He lieks socks, his favorite flavor is rasberry, he likes wizard candies liek acid pops and chocolate frogs, etc. But sicne there wasn't that option I voted for the fact that he knows everything! He really does! It's kidn of freaky, but in an amazingly cool sort of way. It's liek if you need to know what color shirt to wear, you ask DD. You need to know what time it is, you ask DD with his special watch to tell when somebody's late or not. You need to know what a horcrux is, you ask DD. You need to know what LV's biggest fear is, you ask DD. You need to know the meaning of life you ask DD. He knows almost everything. He is so good at being wise and all that stuff.

i think Dumbledore was the best because it was like he had a Weasley clock stuc in his head and he was very smart he knew what to say and how to say not to mention when to say it and he risked his life to give Potter a better chance at saving the world and deafeating Lord Voldemort

dumbledore's amazing no one can say he's not well you could i guess but thats not the point. he really has a lot of knowledge and is able to accomplish and rely information to the other characters but i think that he relies upon himself too much. he may be incredible but no one person can do everything. sure he gives harry stuff to do like find horcruxes but he attempted to find them himself to beigin with dont get me wrong dumbledore is amazing and i was sooo incredibly sad when he died but i think he may have done to much stuff

where is the all of the above button?! dumbledore was all of those things.. but i chose he's the only wiz that you-know-who is scarred of.. cause that's pretty kick ACE!!!

i said because he knows like everything.....i mean, come on....he knows everything from morals to every type of candy imaginable....the man is a genius!
