Moon(I luv you Luna)
I honestly hope they will put the kiss in, but knowing the directors and such'a'such, they'll probably cut it. Grrr ... dry.gif

But oh my gosh, i got such a suptrise yesterday, because my two best friends don't like Harry Potter, and i was prancing around chanting "Ran and Hermione forever!" when one of them turns around and goes "But they're already together!"

I was just like whaaaaaaaaat?

They said it was the whole "Close-at-the-funeral" thing, and i was just huh-i wonder why i didn't see it that way? happy.gif
Amyrat151
I've been saying that since the sixth book! That they're already together, they just haven't kissed, told anyone about it, or had anything resembling a date. I think the wedding will change all that. Because, as I said if it (by "it" I mean a kiss and/or a convestation or the like with Harry saying "we're together") happens anywhere else it runs the risk of distracting from the main story line, Voldermort VS Harry.
I agree with Becky about Emma, if I was her I'd want to act out the R/Hr stuff in HBP, we all know by her words what a huge fan of R/Hr she is.
Mistress of Magic, that sounds lovely. I think that there will be a bigger group of crazy fans at Mugglenet than here though.
gamma
heh heh party thread. That would be totaly awesome laugh.gif lets just hope they stay together wub.gif

MOD EDIT: please have a look at your PM box shortly
muggleview
Eh, someone said " Party" ? Count me in biggrin.gif

The movie may show R/Hr more intense than the books. Jo is subtle with romantic gestures (like censoring Harry's kiss with Cho), but the moviemaker shows the best of how many takes of the kiss. The kiss has to be shown. Even Hermione's kiss to Harry was shown, in friendly environment, in GOF. So I am hoping for the kiss before Quidditch. That's a big R/Hr!
HPfan#1
I really, really think that Ron and Hermione would be the sort of couple who get married, have babies and grow old together!! But then occasionly have the odd argument because really a perfect couple who never argue are just boring!!! But I don't think they would have any serious arguements like splitting up or divorce or something like that!! I think one of the reasons I am soooo looking forward to the final book is because I want to see what happens between Ron and Hermione!!
Madmoiselle Lilly
I think that Ron and Hermione would be a cute couple. I can see them growing old to be kind of like Arthur and Molly Weasley. Maybe there is meant to be a connection there? Wow, I just thought of that. What if Ron and Hermione are meant to mirror Arthur and Molly? In the same way that some people think that Harry and Ginny and meant to mirror James and Lilly - that's something to think about.

I really hope that Hermoine and Ron have a happy ending in DH. It would break my heart if one of them dies! sad.gif
Yellowhat
Yes I think that they will married. They just are ment for that. I can imagine how they live together with maybe two childrens. sometimes argueing, but love each other very much. rolleyes.gif My little dream... smile.gif
muggleview
Ron and Hermione will always have arguments. Just like Arthur and Molly. That won't diminish their relationship. On the contrary, it will strengthen the relationship. Argument is a way to be honest, if it can be ended nicely. Through the years, Ron and Hermione have been able to end the bickerings nicely. Their splits came because they didn't bicker (or one decided not to reply), like in PoA, Hermione ran out crying, in HBP Ron was too busy fighting the birds to argue. Once they bicker, they will be fine again. Just like the quote in Yellowhat's signature: back to normal.
~Miss_Granger~
I don't know why, but I think Ron and Hermione won't have a happy ending. Don't get me wrong - there's nothing in the world I'd rather see (or in this case read smile.gif ) than the two of them ending up together, but somehow that "happily ever after" doesn't seem J.K.'s style. She'll twist it up and make it a romance for a lifetime, if of course one of them doesn't die, wich I also think is very likely to happen.

Oh, and I wanted to pint out that I think something definetly happened between Ron and Hermione in HBP that we don't know about. That end, on Dumbledore's funeral when Ron was hugging her and playing with her hair is very suspicious to me. I think J.K. wanted us to think that, but why I'm not sure...
Moon(I luv you Luna)
I agree Miss Granger, JKR has a different way of showing everything. Plus the end part at DD's funeral in HBP was a bit suspisous ... but wouldn't it be funny if Harry was just like "Ahhh! Get together already!" then they're like "But we already are!"

Because when you think about it, maybe they're always fighting as a cover up? Lol, probably not, but if it were the case, i'm guessing they got together in ... OotP, or possibly end of GoF, and the fight between them in HBP was real.

Most defiently not, but still, just imagine harry's face when they say it! happy.gif
~Miss_Granger~
Somehow I think Harry wouldn't be so suprised. I mean, in HBP he mentioned their possible relationship, didn't he? What it would be like if the two of them ended up together and then brake up. Nasty, I say laugh.gif
But he would be suprised if they kiss in front of him (not intentionaly) without him knowing they are together... Oh, who cares if Harry will be suprised or not, the important thing is that Ron and Hermione end up together. rolleyes.gif

I think Harry will be happy when they are finally together. I mean I know that they are already together. But He will be happy when they tell him. He will probably say something like "It's about time." or "Finally!" smile.gif I don't think they would have a kiss in front of Harry. I hope at least one chapter of the book has a different point of view and not just Harry's like Hermiones or Rons. wink.gif
Amyrat151
I agree, I think Harry will be not all surprised and happy, and in a particle way too. Think about it, in HBP things between Ron and Hermione had reached their breaking point. The dance was tired, it didn't work with them apart, the trio. But it does work with Ron and Hermione together.
muggleview
About the unhappy ending, I have tried to prepare myself for it. I don't think (and hope) it will be about Ron and Hermione. I am more worried about Harry and Ginny.
As Book 1 described (and portrayed nicely in Movie 1), Harry has to face Voldemort alone, while Hermione tends Ron who was knocked unconscious during the chess game. Ron and Hermione will overcome the shadow of death while cheering Harry in his one-on-one battle with Voldemort.
Just the Droobles
Hey, good news!! I think I have given myself a little more hope that Ron will make it through the last book...also making this ship a little more possible. It already is possible...but we can't have a lasting ship if someone croaks. mellow.gif

My brother pointed out that, from the Trio, Ron cannot die because he is the antagonist of the protagonists. If Ron was not around, Hermione and Harry would have no one to but heads with, because Hermione and Harry pretty much get along. I don't know about you guys, but that would make for some really boring group dynamics. So, from a literary stand point, I don't think Ron's allowed to die until the last sentence of the book. Or else it will be boring. He also serves as the comic relief. It will be VERY important with all the death that's going to be going around like the flu in this next book.

So I'm campaigning for Ron. And since I love Ron so much, he must be happy. So Ron must end up with Hermione. And as long as both of them are alive, they will be together. hug.gif

That was all pretty random. I'll comment on the current topic...
It'll definitely be a weight off of Harry's chest, in my opinion. He is getting a bit sick of their bickering, and he's probably just thinking they should just get on with it. I think all of us want them to hurry up and admit that they like each other. So...yay.
Mistress of Magic
Antagonist of the protagonists? What? I'm sorry, but in my opinion that just sounds mean, JTD. It's not so much that he's the bad guy of them, it's just that he neds to get to the level of maturity that the other two have. But I honestly think that Ron is the closest he has ever been to getting there, since now with the war going on he realizes the miportance of staying focused on the mission.

As for Ron staying alive? I hope so. But if one of the two of them does die, I would rather they both die, so they could be together in heaven or something. No, wait, I wouldn't, because they would both be dead. Yes...No...Oh, I don't know. I just hope none of them die. sad.gif
Just the Droobles
I wasn't trying to be mean. Ron's my favorite character. smile.gif But he is usually the one that causes the most turmoil within the Trio.

antagonist

noun
1. someone who offers opposition

And there we have it. That's just what Ron does. Mainly with Hermione...but it is within the Trio and then Hermione gets mad, which results with her lashing at Harry and then Harry gets frustrated and then Ron's frustrated and so on and so forth. And if none of that happened, then the Trio--or ratherduo--would be very boring. What I was saying is that without Ron, the Trio would be boring and there wouldn't be anything that was in opposition there. Sure, there are plenty of antagonists to go around, but within the Trio, he is the opposition.

Ron is important in a literary stand point, as the opposition that the protagonist will acknowledge and the comic relief. Without that, the novel will be quite lacking. And Ron can't die because then none of my favorite characters will be left. The other two died...

megan elise smith
wow. this topic has become kind of morbid since i last got on here.but i know what [you] guys are saying. i'm preparing my self for it too. it would really sad if either of them died. It would umm...unsettel me very much. but i don't know, something tells me their gonna live. i don't thing you can shred the golden trio. actually i think its very likly that harry will die, at least more so then ron or hermione dying. i don't know why i just have a feeling that their just not quite disposable as characters. so their you go. a true testement to my optimistic upbrining smile.gif

Ok I have been reading one of JK's biographies and it has one of quotes about the books... here it is...
"There is something going on between Ron and Hermione... Ron just doesn't know it yet. Typical boy."
So we have our proof!! Not that we haven't known since the very first book though... that just got me really excited, and I just had to post that quote.

Where did you find that quote? Are you sure it's something we could belive in?
I mean, I just don't want to get my hopes up too soon.
Oh, and I don't think all three of them will live - at least one will die. unsure.gif
Nawal
The fact that one of the trio will die in the next book makes me so mad,and especially when it comes to Ron,when people say he might die in the last book,it really is hard to believe it(atleast for me).I imagine Ron dying while saving Hermione from the Avada Kedavra curse when it hit him and Hermione bursting out in tears,it just makes me so sad.As for the quote ,I really hope that it is true and I can get my hopes up.I am really crazy about it,when me and my friend were talking about the next book, she said that it might be Ron and I started shouting at her,and said things like 'if J K Rowling kills Ron,I am never going to read the whole book' , and then she said that it's better that Ron dies instead of Harry and I said I didn't care if Harry died or something like that and then she says "you're so evil,Nawal..I never thought you'd like Harry being killed"... laugh.gif ...I don't really want any of them to die... tongue.gif sad.gif
~Miss_Granger~
I imagined something similar as you Nawal if Ron dies. That would be the best way to go in this book, even though I'd rather see Harry die unsure.gif . Atleast more than Ron or Hermione. I can already imagine the scene in my head - the trio is fighting the Death Eaters, Harry went for Voldemort, Hermione is fighting Bellatrix and Ron possibly with Lucius if he gets out of Azkaban. The suddenly Hermione trips and Bellatrix yells Avada Kedavra, Ron jumps to save Hermione and the curse hits him. Hermione starts crying and kissing Ron, than she stands up, says Ron this is for you and yells Avada Kedavra and kills Bellatrix...
It's sad but at the same time romantic... And if something like that happens, I think I'll cry for atleast half an hour...
Yellowhat
It's same with me... Ron is my favorite character. And I swear if JKR will kill him I will cry, throw book to the wall and I will fall in depression. eeek.gif But I know taht one of the trio will die, I mean that I think that it will happen, I just have that feal... But Oh my God! I hope so much It wuldn't be Ron... It would be cruelly for Hermione and all Weasleys and for everybody and for me.... eeek.gif I'm sorry but if someone from trio need to die than I want Harry to die.... sad.gif But maybe noone will die...( from trio)... I would be sorry abaut Harry too... I mean, he is trying for all his life to make peace in wizards wrold, and I think that he need to see how happy everybody live in peacefull wrold....OMG I will start to cry...eeek.gif I'm crying...
megan elise smith
really people, remember their title? the golden trio. i think it kinda says they'll be the ones who make it through. i don't know, but don't they have this indestructible quality to them? i think jkr gave that to them for a reason. and about that little ending, cliche but never the less, melt in ur heart romantic. i can see hermione getting really mad. heh
Hermione's imaginary friend
I agree with Megan elise smith. They are the golden trio so just maybe, if say Ron or Hermione do happen to die, the other might be able to bring them back by revealing their true feelings. Same with Harry and Ginny... I think that would be utterly tearjerking but wonderful. But, since Hermione has really grown up and truly has shown she cares for Ron, I think I can see it more fitting for her to jump infront of Ron to make things more interesting. Ron would be in shock, and go on with Harry. Then, after Voldemort is vanquished, he can reveal his true feelings to her while she lie in St. Mungo's or the hospital Wing, or where-ever she is lying and wake up. Ron can ask her why she did it and she can say some beautiful love confession and then well... then we will truly see a Weasley Ever After. Sorry if anyone here is emotionally scarred, but that's been my ending for... well almost a year now. Thanks guys! happy.gif
Just the Droobles
Maybe this is cold hearted, but I prefer it if neither of them die at the hands of a heroic deed. So, I'm weird. Oh well. I actually picture someone like Neville doing something more like that. Someone who really does have a beef with Voldemort and Bella and those sort of people. Ron and Hermione are just there because Harry is their friend. And I actually see the two of them more as bait. It would not surprise me if they were captured at some point. One of them at least.

Anyway,
QUOTE
"There is something going on between Ron and Hermione... Ron just doesn't know it yet. Typical boy."
Well, I too have seen that quote before. Here. It is the third bullet down. Unfortunately, the link to the Yahooligans chat did not work for me. huh.gif Oh well. But it is a spoken quote from the author herself. happy.gif
miss_r_weasley
I'm not really sure how Ron and Hermione are going to reveal their true feelings about each other. They are undoubtably there but i think it will take alot for them to be put out in the open. I personally am torn between the idea of Ron defending Hermione or as Just the Droobles said they at least one will be used as bait. I think that if one were to defend the other then it would more likely be Ron to save Hermione because Hermione throughout the books has made her feelings more obvious. Ron however, has been fairly quiet about Hermione and so i think that he would 'announce' as it were his feelings for Hermione in a heroic event. Then again, saying that, i do think that Neville has more of a reason to be killed. Don't get me wrong i would be heart-broken and would probably cry my eyes out if Neville did die, but i think he might find out about the prophecy or something and take it upon himself to help Harry because his character is a very loyal friend. I think he may find out about how it could well have been him in Harry's shoes and wrongly blame himself for everything that has happened to Harry and get killed in the process. This would mean that in order to include Ron and Hermione in the storyline either one or both of them would probably be used as bait. Just had a thought: maybe to link the two ideas together Hermione is used as bait (this would make more sense because Voldemort has never hurt her or used her before - he hasn't neccessarily used Ron but he was hurt by LV using Ginny in CoS) and Ron goes to help Hermione.

Sorry all that is a little off topic but i think that Ron and Hermione definately have a special 'connection' and something big has to happen in order to reveal it because it is such a big thing and nearly half the world has been waiting for it for years. JKR has alot of pressure put on her to get it right because if she does get the moment wrong she would have major problems with leaving her house due to the thousands of people outside screaming at her. Me being at the front of this crowd laugh.gif.

I may have just confused many people and am very sorry about that.

muggleview
Ron and Hermione will survive. That's my prediction and wish. It won't be a good ending without them. As for the battles, I doubt Ron and Hermione will be baits. They are more useful as strategists and counselors. Both will help Harry finding the way for horcruxes or for weaknesses in Voldemort's organization, so Harry can take a short-cut and meet the Dark Lord himself bypassing all the Death-Eaters.
~Miss_Granger~
Since JK Rowling didn't mention if one of the two charachters that will die in the book will be one of the lead charachters or just a charachter mentioned a few times, I think it's very possible that Ron and Hermione will survive. I'm thinking JK wanted us to get all confused about who is going to die, and since Voldemort has to die (what kind of ending would it be if he didn't?) there is only one charachter left, wich means that not both Hermione and Ron can die... Atleast not for sure, bacause she did say that it's possible that there will be more than two deaths.
muggleview
The death people has been expected is Rubeus Hagrid. The other unexpected deaths can be Lupin (to clean up all the Marauders, assuming Peter Pettigrew will also die) or Tonks (to eliminate all Blacks, including Bellatrix, Narcissus and Draco). However, I don't think (or prefer not to think) Jo will kill Ron or Hermione. It will take away the fun of Harry Potter, because many would not reread the book anymore with that kind of sad ending. Ron and Hermione will live to enjoy the peace after the war.
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Yeah, i don't think either Ron or Hermione will die. They've just been a part of everything, and a big part too. It just wouldn't be the same without them. Exspecialy Ron. He's the comic releif.

But i believe they'll get together because they balance each other. Like Ron needs to take more things seriously, and Hermione needs to loosen up. It's like a sea-saw, they need to be balance, our you won't go up and down!

As for revealing feelings, i see something like this: Them like, fighting, then one of them is just like "Stuff this!" and spontaniously kisses the other. Or randomly yells "I love you!". I just see something spontanious, when you're least expecting it. Not a whole heart-wrenching performence, in which they confess their un-dying love for each other.

That's just too-un-Harry potter-like. happy.gif
Amyrat151
I agree, plus that would distract to much from the main story line, lighten up the war, them saying "I love you" in the middle of a battle, just DOES NOT work. This is why I think, the wedding, the wedding, the wedding! Because it wraps the subplot of R/Hr up nicely with out being too distracting on the other parts of the story.
I don't want any of the Trio to die! I think it would be a sucky ending to kill off Harry, because he's never been able to enjoy his life, and after Voldermort he be able to bulid his life with Ginny and his family(Ron and Hermione). But if even if Harry dies, it makes little sense to kill of Hermione and Ron, they will be the side story that brings a little light to what promises to be a very dark book, there gentel teases and sweetness will be a nice reliefe.
I think that Neville will die too, isn't that interesting. I dunno, I got a strong feeling about that.
muggleview
Ron and Hermione are closer to common people. They are dragged to the war because of Harry and their commitment to good cause. They should enjoy the result of Voldemort's elimination.
Basically Ron and Hermione symbolise the regular life, which Harry would love to enjoy more if not for the battle, as stated at the end of HBP: golden days with Ron and Hermione.
Amyrat151
Yeah, if it wasn't for Harry Ron and Hermione would definetly have much simpler lives. Sure they'd be a war, but I suspect both would either be at their homes or Hogwarts, and they wouldn't of almost died a bunch of times. It's sad and wonderful that they're Harry's friends, something tells me they wouldn't be together if it wasn't for him.
HPfan#1
Well I think ever since book 4 and film 3(because I don't think the Ron/Hermione holding hands thing was written in the book) their has been a spark between Ron and Hermione.

Film 3 - They hold hands in Care of Magical Creatures class!!
Film 4 - They have a row because Viktor asked Hermione to the ball before Ron did!!
Book 5 - They become Prefects and are together quite a lot!!
Book 6 - Hermione gets jealous when Ron snogs Lavender Brown!!
Book 7 - Hopefully they don't die and become a couple biggrin.gif !!
i love HP
i want them to get together at the wedding reception it would be sooooooo greatid be like they were just having a fight and hermione just plunges at ron and starts snogging him like crazy and harrys standing next to them and was trying to sort out the row and then hes like ok then ill be going and he gose to find ginny.that would be sooooooooo aswome
muggleview
The snog at wedding reception will be most welcome, I_love_HP! That will be a culmination of what HPfan #1 has listed from book/movie 3 to 7.
For book 7, I think there will be some warplan and puzzles for Ron and Hermione to solve. Ron may help directing the battles, Hermione will use her intelligence to break the codes, so Harry can come face to face with Voldemort. Ron and Hermione will still wait outside, just like in Book 1/Movie 1.
~Miss_Granger~
I think that's about right, muggleview... Harry has to confront Voldemort himself, so Hermione and Ron will stay outside and fight the Death Etars, I think. And about the kiss, I mean, it has to happen. HAS TO. And I mean that. Whenever, wherever... It doesn't matter. But I think it would be best if it happend spontaneously. Best in a middle of a fight. I really think, since J.K. herself said there's something going on between the two of them repeatedly, something big is going to happen. What will that be? Well, we'll just have to wait until 21st July to find that out... dry.gif
Amyrat151
A middle of a fight between them, not an all out battle, I asume. Because like I keep saying, to distracting from the seriesness of the situation.
I don't think Harry will be alone when he faces Voldermort, or maybe I just think it will be a better ending. Because yes, Harry is alone all the other times, but he's also never won before.

Ooooh had an idea!!!!!

It may sound a little bit too over the top and romantic or otherwise crazy but i've heard a rumour (not sure if it's true) that Viktor Krum is making an appearance in book 7 so my new theory is: Hermione and Ron have an argument (nothing out of character there then) and when Krum comes back Hermione goes to him for comfort or something. Ron gets angry and has a fight with him over Hermione.

You haven't heard a rumor, it's the truth. Krum will make an appearance in book 7, and that has been comfirmed by J.K. herself in an interview. I think Krum will come for the wedding, maybe Hermione will invite him to make Ron jelous, or maybe Krum will come uninvited... That would be even better.. Then Ron goes mad and maybe even punches Krum... Could you imagine that? biggrin.gif
zonkos_employee
I say that would be good. There is nothing better than a fist fight. As for anyone coming in with Harry to fight Voldemort, I think both of them will. (plus Ginny if she comes)[fingers crossed]. If Harry is going to finish LV off, he will need all of the help he needs. I bet that Harry will also see visions of his parents, Sirius, and Dumbledore while he is fighting Lord Voldemort.
Miss Minerva Mcgonagall
Fist fight between Ron and Krum? It's not impossible but I doubt this would happen. I agree that Krum will most probably just make a small appearance at the wedding but this time maybe Ron will actually be mature about it and get in there before Krum...as Hermione told him to in GoF, not as a last resort. If it's true that something was going on between Ron and Hermione in HBP then Ron would have no need to be jealous and having Krum there could be a way of showing that Ron and Hermione are together.
Or it could be a way of getting the two together if they aren't yet, having competition for Hermione at the wedding could push Ron into action.
beekyk2001
I don't think Krum would be at the wedding.... I mean why would he be he isn't friends with any of the Weasleys. Bill and Fleurs wedding will probably be close friends and family so I don't see Krum showing up at the wedding. I think that he would take part in the final war. I think that Ron is mature enough not to be jealous of Krum. He deffinetly showed some maturity in HBP. I can't wait for DH!
~Miss_Granger~
Oh, for sure, but I thought that maybe he will be looking for Hermione at her home, and then her parents would tell him she's at the Waesley's. And, well, I already mentioned what might happen.
Ron has definetly matured a little bit, but I think he would still be very jelous. Maturity has nothing to do with jelousy. And I think he'd go totaly nuts if, say, Krum kisses Hermione and she slapped him for it. Yeah, he'd fist fight in a minute biggrin.gif
muggleview
Hi y'all, I prefer a peaceful solution. Viktor will reappear but to work together with the Order against Death Eaters. Hermione will officially introduce Ron as her boyfriend. Ron and Viktor will still be friends. biggrin.gif
Ellen, Harry won once against Voldemort, and that with Ginny at stake, in the Chamber of Secrets. The pattern is obvious. Ginny will once more be a defining factor in Harry's battle. No, she won't interfere with the fight, but she is the reason for Harry to win.
Ron and Hermione's kiss in the middle of the fight is a great idea. From then on, that's how they end the bickerings. wub.gif
~Miss_Granger~
Thank you muggleview! Finnaly someone appretiates my ideas! rolleyes.gif
But Krum in the OotP? I don't know... What would he do there? I mean, he is a great Quidditch player, but... I dunno... unsure.gif
Nawal
The theory of Krum arriving at Bill and Fluer's wedding would be great, and for why he would be there,I think it's going to be something like Fleur invited her friends from the triwizard's tournament, and Viktor would obviliously want to come because of Hermione. And then I guess I like the idea, ~Miss_Granger~ ,it would be good to see Ron jealoused and have a *ahem* little fight with Krum, lol, and then they work out everything and like everyone wants,we will have an 'Happily Ever After' ending. rolleyes.gif
Amyrat151
Oh Gods, no fist fight between Krum and Ron, that's so over the top! I would simply goan at my book and roll my eyes if I read that unfolding. I think that Krum will be at the wedding, but not trying to get Hermione back, because I'm sure he has someone else in his life by now, and Ron can know there's no reason to be jealous anymore.
Muggs, I don't know about the end still, but I'm sure it will be better than I can image.
muggleview
Krum is not just a good Quidditch player. He was also a champion wizard from Dumstrang. He may lead some students and teachers to avenge Karkaroff's death and joining the Order of the Phoenix to fight Voldemort and Death Eaters. That's why it's beneficial when he and Ron can be friends. Besides, at the end of GoF, Viktor and Ron already made peace. Both knew with whom Hermione would spend her summer that year (the answer in OOP: Ron, of course).
