Dean is really tall. Ginny is really short. That should make for some discussion when HBP is turned into a movie. Now, who are the two boys on the left and the young boy on the right? I cannot identify who they are supposed to be.

i think the blond boy on the left is zacharias smith or mabey it is the boy with black hair
the little one on right was in the fourth movie but i am not sure who he is.

The small kid from GoF was named Nigel, I think he was a stand in for Colin Crevey. I think Smith was supposed to be the kid labled 'doubting boy' or something like that. Fred and George and Dean all do look really tall. Luna doesn't look bad but I miss the butter beer cap necklace and the funny earrings.
Ron could use a haircut but not as short as Harry.
I hope Marietta is in it! I wanted to see her and Hermione's curse!
Hope Bellatrix is evil enough!

Interesting picture. Strange floating columns holding up that ceiling... if this is supposed to be the Room of Requirement. where are the cushions and the walls lined with books about jinxes and curses?

The group seems a bit small... about ten people short. Weren't there 25 members? The films have never been accurate about numbers of students and freely grouped people from all Houses together in a class, but I'd have thought it wouldn't be so difficult to get extras in the required age group.

On the other hand, JKR herself confessed that there is an inconsistency in the numbers she has invented -- if all classes were the same size as Harry's, the school would have a quarter of the number of students she said there were in the school. And the timetables of classes would be impossible without extra teachers...

Man you beat me to saying the thing about Nigel. He's the one who brought Ron the package containing his "dress robes" *snickers* for the yule ball. I agree I think he was suppose to be acting as some kind of colin/dennis creevey stand-in. the whole thing about who is Smith and Corner, that's kind of hard to say. If i had to guess i would say the black-haired one. Don't forget everyone Ernie Macmillian is suppose to be in the D.A too so one of them could be him too. My mouth fell open when i saw how tall Dean had gotten. GOD poor Ginny (Bonnie) lol. I agree, fred and george look a bit too old. I liked how they're hair looked in GoF though, really cute, now...they look too old! Oh and about Luna...she IS wearing the earrings, the necklace i'm not sure. here's the link.

harry's hair is TOO short, PoA hair was PERFECT for him. Ron's hair was actually pretty good in GoF i liked it very much, made him look like he was maturing the short hair makes him look boyish again. Bellatrix IS in the movie, but I don't know how evil she's going to be portrayed, and Marietta, I haven't heard a single thing about that girl. I hope she's in it. I want to applaud Hermione's handy-work lol.

If you guys watched the ABC 25 days of X-MAS special about harry potter if you watched yesterday the Sorcerer's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets then you would of seen the sneak peeks at OotP they showed behind the scenes of the DA! O.O there's actually more kids than there is in the picture! I think this just shows the more important characters you know? But they had at least 20 kids all lined up and listening to harry (dan doing his lines) while filming! so yeah there's more than just these guys in the DA ^.^ WOOT!!! just wanted to let you guys know that whoo hoo!!!!!

well. Ginny doesn't look too good does she? i think she usually looks nicer than that. oh and poor Neville! he looks like a mini Hitler, ready to collapse! Fred and George look way much older than 17, more like 21 as said before. i love that lonely guy at the left! i think he's Corner, because of his uniform, it's got blue detail. Nigels(bad spelling i think) cute! is that Dean? wow he's huge! he looks really good though. Luna looks good, but like so many of you i miss her butter beer corks. Cho looks pretty, and i like that they put her next to Harry. Harry looks a bit weird in the cardigan, i thought they had jumpers before(sweaters) Ron and Hermione look good to me. maybe it's just a bit of a bad picture but the the Patil twin infront of Ginny looks totally stoned! and her sister looks a bit doped too.

oh and on the trailer there are more people in the meetings, these are just the main people.

i agree with pettigrew, the only one who can properly name everyone in the picture.. but isnt michael corner supposed to be 'the dark one' (Hermione, OoTP) maybe they jut didnt want to put ginny with two dark boys in two books. aka dean in HBP.

but thankyou Slytherin head girl05..haha.. no i didnt see that special but im glad we know now that there are more members. Marietta for instance. hannah abott, ernie macmillian, denis creevy etc etc.

who saw the scene in the trailer with the DA..it looked so spooky nd dark. isnt the room supposed to be open with comfy pillows and book shelves.

Dean got 100 ft. taller. Hermione got hotter, Harrys hair got shorter, Fred and George grew up, Neville looks like a big slab of gel was slapped on his head, Cho looks, odd... Ron looks cool and Ginny looks depressed and so do the two random kids on the right.

Hmmmm.....Dan should not have cut his hair. I have been partial to long-haired men since the 80's, when it was still cool. He looked so handsome and adult with longer hair. As for Hermione and Luna, thay both look good. Dean looks like he could recarve a bit of that stonework while he's up there. Ginny looks like she may have just been dumped! The Weasly Twins look frightening. The Patils and Cho look cute, as ever. Ron and Neville just plain look as if someone had stomped on their toes! Actually they all look a bit down-in-the-dumps...must be that evil Umbridge!

maybe it could be a mistype on JK's side of writing and maybe just maybe the 'dark one' meant the dark haired one? just a thought *shrugs*

well that room IS the RoR cuz behind the scenes that's the room they're all in and for the life of me as they moved the cameras around and talked to the actors there were NO bookshelves. a fireplace though if i'm not mistaken O.o!!! oh and the kids were sitting on the floor during a filming of one scene. but i have to make comment about what you said about the room being spooky looking. if you didn't see the HBO ON demand behind the scenes look then you didn't see the scene of the RoR's door being blasted off. harry's locking it and i think it's neville or someone else who grabs harry and they run away from the door and the door explodes off! all this dust and smoke is all over the place and its dark so MAYBE...i'm only GUESSING guys so don't flame me plz but maybe that's why the room is that way in the preview. because whenever they showed the kids practicing(filming those scenes) it was VERY BRIGHT O.O lol. just wanted to comment! oh yeah has anyone seen what mugglecast people are talking about...there's a scene from GoF in there o.O in the OotP trailer! *blinks* i have not seen it for the life of me O.O just thought i'd ask *shrugs* i'll stop going off topic now @.@ lol


oh speaking of ernie and hannah. did you guys know that they've been in the movies at least since CoS? i can't recall seeing them in SS/PS but they ARE in CoS hehe. and just so you know they're the SAME ACTORS that played them in CoS when they were in GoF. guess where they appeared? anyone remember the two blondes that blocked harry's way to Cedric? that's hannah and ernie! same actors from CoS woot! just thought i'd say that too i'm shutting up now...really i am

i have a quick question. can ANYONE, ANYONE see what Cho's wand looks like?!!? I don't look like Katie but in description i look like cho, so for the opening showing of OotP i'm going to go AS her. but i want to match everything as close as possible can ANYONE get a clear pick of her wand or can anyone tell for themselves what it looks like? *sighs* thank you!

Maybe they're a cannibalistic colony, seeing as their other members have "disappeared"

I think Dan and Emma are so perfect for the roles of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, maybe it's because they've been in the roles since the beginning or whatever, but they are exactly as I picture them in the books. Dan's hair is a bit too short as stated previously by a few people, but it should affect the film too much lol. Looks great! Thanks again.

there are actually 24 members of the DA, i checked. the mysterious boy next to zacharias smith could be any number of people! there are so many people missing...like angelina. i like her.

wow! it's a relief to see familiar characters, but ron and harry both look too young with their haircuts, and I liked frd and georges long hair too...cannot believe dean's growth spurt!

Okay this is my big question:
Where is Lavender Brown???
She hasn't been in any of the movies yet! Also weren't the Creevy brothers in DA? Becaue I didn't see them in the picture.
Also I heard some where that they had cut Mariette, how will the DA get caught now?! I was looking forward to seeing her with SNEAK across her face... oh well... also Dobby has been cut so know they might not have warning that Umbridge is coming... and this is a little but now Dobby can't put up the mistletoe, but Harry and Cho still kiss... they are either going to kiss under non-existing mistletoe or they will kiss under mistletoe that a non-existing houself put up.
It might just me thinking this but after seeing this picture I think this movie will be a big disappoitment

That is a good picture, but the room is not at all what I pictured the DA's meeting place like. Dean is way too tall, Fred and George look old, there are missing peole, and they cut the "sneak". How will Umbridge find out about the DA. I'm so confused!

^^^ Can't you just look at the good side of it all. Im not supporting them in anyway but i just have to say that you cant always make everything perfect. And who cares about harry's hair. OMG. you guys are making such a huge fuss about how short it is. Why cant it be short, its not a magical law that you cant get a haircut ( or did i misread the book). They all look fine and we should be happy we actually are seeing some photos of the movie.

I agree that a few people are missing but I don't think that there are enough to make a big difference or anything.

I doubt that there'll be another picture of them out soon because, correct me if I'm wrong, but the filming is done. Is it not? If it is, I doubt that they're going to call everyone back just for that single shot. It's not going to change the movie if a few people are missing.
