The Marauders fanclub was originally started by our very own Kipsy and the original thread can be found here. At present the discussion is on Peter Pettigrew and his parents. Please feel free to put in your thoughts, however read through to find other discussion ideas.

Please note that you do NOT need to put in posts saying 'I want to join!'- just join in the conversation and express your love for the marauders by adding a link to this club in your signature.

I think that they may have been over protective. He kind of seems like a momma's boy. Not so much spoiled, just... i don't know.
I bet James' parents were really nice though. They seem like they would have been very giving and care free.
Sirius' parents as we know were well.... ya. lol Not the type you want to have over for tea. Lets just say that, shall we?
And Remus... I bet his parents were a bit like James' too. Maybe a little bit more family oriented. Not that James didn't have that, just more careful due to Moony's 'furry little problem'

I know that this is and I can't remember if we have discussed this already, but was Lily ever an honerary marauderette?

My eyes popped out of their sockets when I saw the former thread was closed. Whew, I feel better now. I have a question about the Marauders that has probably been discussed before. We were just discussing Peter's parents. What about Lupin's? We know his father offended Fenrir Greyback. What else do we know about them?

Ok, so, since this is a new thread, I guess I will explain some things.

1) we are having our international (sort of) marauders day June 21st. We have two contests so far: fan fic and prank idea. We have three judgess :me, HP_RULES, and hpgoldsnitch.

2)Apparantly, we voted on the last thread, and since the topics moved much to fast, I control where topics go. Not entirely sure how that one poped up.

3) Around here, we have a running gag going on called "internet galleons", which are like house points in the books. We give you galleons for good deeeds. Pix got 30 for doing the 1000th post on the old thread. I think I have the most, not sure. I hand them out, HP_RULES writes them down. She's on holiday, will be back later. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you think she's gonna freak out? I'm going for a 9.5.

Ok, so yes, the topic was Peters parents. In honor of a new thread, I will give the topic idea to who can PM me first. We will go for the first one I recieve. On your marks, get set, go!

Ok, in honor of a brand spanking new marauder htread, how about a brand spanking new topic? No one PMd me, so to late, I thought it myself! Ok, the topic is:

If you could save one marauder, who would it be? Now, save here is an interesting concept. By "save" you could mean for Peter being evil, or Lupins Lycanthropy, or Sirius and James's deaths. My choice:

James. The most devilishly triky of the marauders, and father to Harry. If he got "saved", Harry has a dad, and Lupin's got a best friend back. Also, James might shed some light on to how Lily saved Harry. Input?

OMG Lupin! that is soo funny! it is very wierd seeing that (and all the others who are going to be playing someone in the memory sense). but i'm pretty happy with the slection my self.

Remus looks way hotter than Sirius That's not possible! My opinion on the cast members: Lupin should be played by the actor playing Sirius, Sirius should be played by the actor playing James, James should be played by the actor playing Harry Potter since they're suppose to look alike anyways... though thus far I like the others.

As for saving someone... I'd have to go with Sirius Black. If you think about it, we wouldn't even be reading the story at all if Peter didn't betray them or if James and Lily hadn't died, Voldemort wouldn't have been defeated and no one would've had any peace at all... But Sirius' death was rather pointless in my opinion.

Siriusly (there baaaacccckkkkkkk. ) I am happy wuth 3/5 of the actors. If Pettigrew looks terrible, I swear, I don't know what I'll do. Any suggestions?

er...hi...i guess :unsure:the marauders look SOOO different than the way i pictured them, and it is just wierd. i agree that james should be played by the person playing harry, that would make more sense, i mean, honestly it's weird for me everytime i see the movies, because i have a HUGE imagination, and i see the book and all the details in my mind a certain way, so then when i see the movies, and everybody looks so, so different, i kinda get a little upset..(okay, actually, i get a LOT upset...)

okay, so i came on to read the posts (not planning on posting anything ) and then i read the first part of Pixymajik's post and i nearly had a heart attack- like honestly, i was REALLY close to fainting... good thing i read the rest before i fainted... and now i decided to post... not only to put the stuff in the above paragraph but to say that was a really awesome joke, Pixymajik, but, jeez, you nearly killed us! i could see the newspaper article "HP fan in hospital due to having a heart attack after reading a post on VTM.com"

I would save them all if I could but since i can not..I would save James. This way if Lily still died Harry would have a real father in his life. I would want to save Lily but i do not think that she counts in this catagory...Harry needs a father and his life probably would have been easier in some ways.

I would not save lupin because I believe that this "problem" made his closer with the marauders. Peter would have turned out terribly no matter what I believe. Sirius was Harry's father figure but with his real dad there he doesnt really need Sirius (Im not being mean I do love Sirius!!!) So I make sence when I say that?So this is why I would not choose Lupin,Peter, or Sirius even though I do love Lupin and Sirius and would love to save them too

I agree, after Dumbledores death, what Harry really needs is a father figure. So James would be the best option. Peter, well, even if we did "fix" him, it woudn't undo all that damage, would it? And Lupins lycanthropy made him stronger. I'm being a but mean with Sirius (I agree, LovelyLily, I don't think he should come back, but since he's my favorite charcter, I'm confused! ), but since will see Padfoot again in book seven, I don't see the need to bring him back. Poor Padfoot!

Exactly my thoughts! He would turn out all messed up, being a follower or not sadly I also feel the same with you madmarauder about Sirius, I love him but he would not really be needed because Harry has his dad. If only if James was alive..Yes, poor padfoot

I would save James because as we decided earlier (or at least I did) Sirius is NOT dead (and don't even tell me he is) he is just simply stuck behind the veil until someone lets him out...
That way, all the marauders would be alive again! Remus has been able to live with his lycanthorpy (sp?) so far, and the others know how to handle it. That way Moony, Padfoot, and Prongs could all curse Wormtail and then drop him off a cliff. Yep.

Er, I agree with you about Sirius, he's cool, but as I'm a guy, you won't catch me saying that!

Lupin if we fixed him. He would probably take life for granted, maybe have a wife, less scars, etc. etc. Probably have a stable job to. Should we really deny him that? It's probably what he would see in the mirror of Erised. Poor wolf man. At least Tonks and the rest of his die hard fans love him.

I would bring back Sirius. I don't care what everyone else decided, I still think he died. Harry needs an advisor, not a protector. I think Sirius could accept that. Lupin already does. I do not think James could ever stand aside and let Harry face destiny. He would always be the protecting father. Sirius could accept that Harry needs to act alone, even though he would not like it.

Wait a second here. What's all of this talk about seeing Padfoot in Book 7? Can someone fill me in on all of this because I haven't heard a thing about Book 7 yet...

Sorry, but I haven't really heard or read anything about Book 7 myself... But I'd like to know what you mean by Sirius reappearing as well, that is if you don't mind to fill us in...
And speaking of how James would act if he was somehow spared dying in the past, I found THIS very funny fanfic not too long ago that deals with this exact subject.

*sigh* okay, well i don't think it is like, a fact that sirius is coming back, but i think that everyone likes to think that he is, because we don't really know anything about the veil, and so we don't really know if it ACTUALLY killed him, or if perhaps he is still alive, and just stuck behind the veil and has to find a way to get out, so that is what certain people (like myself, for instance) believe, and plus, jk rowling herself said something about harry and sirius' two-way mirrors being important, didn't she? okay, so that is for anyone who wants to know...

Although could the "apperance" mean portrait, ghost, dream, spirit? like Harry's parents in the fourth book because of the spell (I have no clue how to spell it ) I doubt he will return but that we get a glimpse of him. I'm guessing in a way Sirius helps Harry defeat Voldemort. I dunno Im confused

well, basically, i have to say james. cause if james is back and the veil didn't really kill sirius we would have all our marauders back! but if the veil did kill sirius... i would pick sirius well because like the protector of harry, not to mention i LOVE his animagus, and then maybe he could help harry find a way to avenge his best freind's death (and his best freind's girl's death, too )

Yes, Lovely, we can see him in any from, although if it's just in a dream, that's a rip off. No, I'm inclined to think the mirror. Although this has been done probably countless times, let's have it: a mirror/viel/sirius discussion, anything related to his dissapearance. Not death, disaperance, I'm adamint on that.

i think that we will see Sirius's two way mirror again. and i also think that Jo will tell us more about the veil and Sirius's death, i really hope so anyway.

I agree hp. I think that there will definetly be a reappearence of the mirror. That would be way cool. Why did Jo kill Sirius in the first place? I didn't see that coming, and I think that it was kinda pointless... oh well.

Since I believe Sirius still had his mirror with him when he fell through the veil, he may try to contact Harry with it. But the question is, would Harry have kept it? For all we know he could've locked it up or put it in the bottom of his trunk since he thinks Sirius is dead... As for ghost Sirius, can someone say Peeves Jr?

Peeves Jr. lol I could definetly see that happening. I hope that Sirius had his mirror with him when he fell through the veil. And I hope that Harry tries to use his. But hopefully it can be fixed. I bet we will see the mirrors again in the last book.

In context to finn chows post, harry shattered the mirror. it says he hurtled it into his trunk where it shattered. And we all agreed that all he had to do was say "Padfoot". Come on! And I'm sure that unless it's extremely magical like time turners, which I doubt, than a simple reparo would fix it.

But Sirius cant come back as a ghost can he? Because I recall Harry talking to Nearly headless Nick about the same thing and Nick said something like only if they choose to or something like that..Am I wacko? Anyways...I think that he could come back through the mirror only because they have never used it, and it must have a purpose you know? J.K. wouldn't put that object in the story if she wasn't going to use it would she?

Sirius is NOT coming back in any way. JKR said herself as an official bulletin that NO dead characters are coming back in ANY way guys...

Sirius is my favorite character and I wish he would come back somehow but he can't.

Hello Jarn and welcome! Well if I am not mistaken we believe that J.K.Rowling said that Sirius will make an apperance in the 7th book. This could mean anything and right now we are discussing what those options are. It could be a dream,the mirror,penisive,ghost, we dont know...

Wasn't aware of that Lily, however I am certain he won't come back physically.

He isn't a ghost we know, the mirror is a possibility but I don't believe it. I think the mirror may be used by somebody else.

Portraits are only limited in their ability to relay NEW events and happenings...

Didn't Harry break his mirror in OotP? He tried to contact Sirius with it, but he did not answer. I thought Harry threw the mirror and it broke. I don't recall it being fixed. I don't see how Harry would fix a magical object like that. It could probably been done anyway.

Ok, to me, the veil is like an infinite road in an otherwise empty white room. You go on for ever, and each step you take brings you flashes of your life, even things you yourself forgot. Judging on how bad you feel on the terrible things, and how joyous you felt on the really good ones, the road will end, and you will be given a choice. You can move on and either suffer the gates of...well, you know, or go to heaven. But, if you have proven no evil, or it was justified, you can stay in contact with one mortal being. That's my theroy. Enjoy!

Do you think Sirius would have wanted a portrait of himseld in Grimmauld Place? As much as he loathed it, I think he would not want to be connected to it in any way. I don't think he would have put a portrait of himself in the Headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix (since he was there all the time). I doubt he would want one in the home he hated so much.

Well I don't know about Sirius... he has to have a portrait somewhere, because if he is going to make an appearance in 7 then it will very most likely be in a portrait and whilst I am sure SOMEBODY has the skill to repair the mirror I doubt it will be used for Harry to talk to Sirius.

Maybe they'll stick up a portrait of Sirius Black in Hogwarts somewhere... Or the whole thing with Sirius Black returning could be linked up to the Mirror of Erised.

that would be sooo cool, if they put up a picture of Sirius. But wouldn't jo have done that in the 6th book, if she wanted to make Sirius a portait. and with the whole Mirror of Erised thing, where do you think that is now?

I have read a lot of the Sirius is not really dead theories (discussed mostly in the Department of Mysteries). The Mirror of Erised seems unlikely. Portraits seem like they are too similar to Dumbledore. I would guess that either Sirius is not dead or the two-way mirror will work (JK did say that it would be seen again).

Correct me if I'm wrong. I may have just been messed up but I remember the mirror of Erised being in the Department of Mysteries in OOTP? Was I just hallucinating?

If so, still it is a probable place for it.

It was not there. That is something that would have been discussed all over the forum. I have not heard it anywhere else. If it was moved to the Department of Mysteries, Harry did not see it.

I mean I have a memory of the mirror being in the DoM, so maybe it's a future reference lol.
