Hey? I was just wondering if some of you people think hemione will have more of an action role in movie 5, because she didn't have much fighting or anything like that in GoF.
Personally I think the director and screenplay should have hermione have more wizard fighting scenes than in the previous movies.
It would be really cool if she did.
Please give opinions.

I personally thought that Hermione had a rreally good action part in the third, but I haven't seen any of that yet in any of the other movies. I think it would be neat to see that too.

I think that hermione should have a bigger part in the 5th movie...she knows alot of spell and stuff and it would be really cool to see more fighting on her part...but i guess we will have to watch the movie to find out.

if they make the movie how jk wrote the book than she will have deffintly more action. cause in ootp at the end they split up, hermionie and nevelle go with harry and of course harry will get more screen time so herm and nevelle will too

I hope Hermione gets more action, though i think Ron needs more than Hemrione (Though thats off-topic, moderators, don't kill me!) i think Hermione will get more screen time, plus i think there was a confirmed scene somewhere that was of Hermione and Ron practising spells together, so i think she'll get more time on-screen.

Nov 11 2006, 03:04 PM
Yeah. I too hope she will get more time on. She is such a good actress, and i love her scenes

But ron didnt get much time in the forth movie either, most of the film was about harry in the tasks. In the fifth they are together much more time, and i think that they will have much more both Hermione and Ron.

i think she will because in the books i beleive that form the 4th on hermione and harry's friendship get stronger and stronger as the years pass by so i hope that they will incorporat that in the 5th. like dumbledor said in gof

I was watching OOTP behind the scenes from sunrise TV show. They say: Her character (hermione) is still Fighting with Ron. She says: "I blast him, and slam him at the back wall with a spell". So I hope we see a more aggressive Hermione in OOTP (a little bit more like POA)

Hermione had so much action in POA but not much in GOF. So i'm hopeing she'll have lot's of action scenes in this. I mean with her organizing the DA. And of course her fighting the Death Eaters. Hermione is a girl who needs action. Because it was great to watch in the thrid film.
I'd like to see her punch somebody again.

I think that Hermione will have more action roles in the 5th movie with the DA and the ministry and stuff, if she dosn't that will really suck, but i guess we will see in July...so long away !

H. should defenatly get more screen time i mean all the 4th movie was was the tasks. They just have to have more sceens with her and ron. they both were ignored as much as possible in the 4th movie. which is just not fair. Also the 5th book is a lot of talking and who does harry always talk to? h. and R. should have a lot more time in this next film. fingers crossed!

Hermione rocks and she deserves a bigger action part in the movie. In the Department of Mysteries, Dumbledores Army, and against the IS she should get a big action role, i hope so anyway.

Harry's scenes are interesting but Hermione's fight scenes are always the really cool ones because she knows the more interesting spells.

Im pretty sure that Hermine has a bigger role in this movie then in past ones.
It seems that as the movies went on, Hermine was there less and less.
So she will probley be in this more, Isn't she in this book alot more too?
Hermine always makes the scenes funner to watch anyway.
If the director is gonna stay true to the book then Hermine will be in it wayyy
more then the last one.

What Hermione lacked in the fourth film, I hope she makes up in the fifth installment. She is a key character and considering the fact that the DA is an important part in the book, as well as in the movie, then I'm guessing that Hermione will have some great scenes, especially action seqeunces. Afterall, in the book she always helps out Harry and Ron and so she should really have some great scenes in OotP.

I really hope so, she deserves it. Though both her AND Ron should get the parts they deserve in this film. I doubt they will get much chance in the next one seeing as the parts they do have are centered around making each other jealous...
I can't wait to see Hermione in a fight scene, the only thing that could go wrong here is if they cut down the duelling at the ministry scene and have Dolohov curse her early in it as to make the audience think

Hermione's dead...no way!
I'm still hoping Hermione does something seriously awesome in DH

Emma is such an awesome actress. She has grown by leaps and bounds since the sorcerer's stone. I would love to see more of her. She is going to be UK's Drew Barrymore (hopefully without the drugs). I think having her play more active roles in the films would only help them.

I have always believed that Hermione is an intelligent and powerful witch, not that we saw any of this in HBP

I think Hermione will deffinately have more action in this film as it's the first one where all of them fight against the death eaters together. She's a talented witch, and if the directors, script writers etc follow the book truely, then they will HAVE to give her a fighting role!! Hopefully she'll show everyone what us girls can do ... If only i had a wand and some death eaters to fight against! *sigh*

From the trailers, it looks like the director is sticking pretty close to the book, and that Hermione has more screen time, so it seems that she will get more screen time in this movie. I totally agree, she needs more screen time and more action time.

Of course Hermione will have more of an action role in the fifth movie. She goes with harry to the Department of Mysteries and is in the heat of the battle so she will be more in the forefront this time. Both her and Ron. If the producers are following the books as closely as they say, then those two will definately have fighting roles.

She defiently has a bigger role i am assuming. She does a fair bits of fighting. I am assuming.
And from this line in the trailer - " It's rather exciting isn't it? Breaking the rules!"
I think she shold have a fair few good scenes. I think Emma plays Hermione very well.

I think they should portray her and Ron´s role the series a little more. As of now, the movies have them at the same level as Grabbe and Goyle. Just two goons following around their popular friend, when thats not the case at all in the books. Ron has a stronger personality and a closer tie to Harry than Hermione, but in the movies, Ron is a weak half witted boy that just follows his friends around and does nothing productive except get jealous and cries at the slightest bit of danger.
Hermione has such a bigger part than Ron in the movies... I mean, the whole dance is basically revolved around her in GoF, and her character wanting to show how she is no longer just one of the ¨guys¨ but instead a girl thats begining to mature emotionally and physically. Not to mention the third movie, where she has important roles as well.
IMO, What is meant to make this trio so strong is that, Hermione is the Book smart person, Ron the ¨Street smart¨ person and Harry the naturally talented one. Placing these three together is what makes these characters strong enough to defeat a dark lord.. but as it stands now in the movies, Harry will have to base of Hermione´s smarts and Harry´s ¨sheer dumb luck!¨ ( in the words of Prof. McGonagall).

Since all we've seen is the trailers I will say that I hope she will have a bigger role in this movie than in GoF. She is one of the trio and a big asset to the films and I love her parts. I will be very pleased to see her involved in the film. She will be fighting alongside Harry and is involved in and starts the DA, so we know she'll have those parts.

The problem with Goblet was that there was so much physical action needed as part of the Tri-Wizard tournament that it limited what they could do with the characters. Order of the Phoenix offers more character based plot than event based plot. As such, we should see more of many characters, Hermione included.

I think Ron and Hermione have played more important roles than Grabbe and Goyle, but you are right that their characters have not developed nearly enough in the movies.
About Ron, he does much of the same stuff in the book. The problem is that the scenes that show who Ron really is are not 'important' enough to make the movies. That is why we never see how important he is.

Yes! I agree!
But before I go on a Rupert rant, I'll turn my attention to Emma. I don't like her as Hermione. I thought her line on breaking the rules in the OotP trailer was completely off target. Emma has done all she can to make Hermione a laid back Mary Sue, so trying to pretend that she's not used to breaking the rules is rather pointless, I think. And Rupert's delivery of his reply... *shudders* The lines themselves aren't that bad, but given the characters' past portrayals, it just doesn't go down.
I increasingly turn to the first film. I thought the balance in the trio was perfect there. Ron was in charge of his life and his friendship with Harry (or at least pretending to be) and Hermione was a nerdy know-it-all who was completely unaware of how she affected the people around her. They were so good! They helped Harry in their different ways and you got the feeling they were a team.
I love Hermione in the books. She's reserved and mysterious, and she only loses her temper in extreme circumstances. She's also much more innocent - she blushed when she smells Amortentia. Would Emma's Hermione
blush about that? Definitely not after the smug smile she gave Harry when she said that Victor was a 'much more physical being'. Gah!
Book-Hermione never exaggerates unless she talks about her studies and she's much more of a loner. She has political ambitions too. I could never imagine Emma's Hermione talking to Lupin about werewolf legislation, for example. Hermione, in the books, is a serious girl and very naive about herself and others. Emma plays her like some hideously street-wise fandom version of Lily Evans.
Yeah, give her enough screen time in the film, I guess there's no other way, but I'm not jumping up and down about it.

Hermione is a key character, and one of my favorites, but she didn't have a huge "action" role in the fourth book/movie because it was mainly Harry fighting himself and dealing with the Triwizard Tournament. She didn't really "fight" in the book, so it wasn't required in the movie.
But you would think that since the D.A. is involved in OotP, she will get more. Especially when they head into the Department of Mysteries. I don't think we have anything to worry about

I agree. While OOtP is my favorite of the books (thus far) the only film that really did the books justice was SS. I'm hoping to love this film, but I'm almost afraid I won't. At least it will be tempered by the release of DH, right?

I, personally, think that Emma is a great portrayer of Hermionie. I'm not trying to stick my nose up at people or anything, just saying my opinion.
But anyway, Hermionie DEFINETELY needs more action in the fifth movie. I mean, she is a great character, and has kind of been pushed aside in the last movie.

I guess Hermione does have a lot of action in this movie. Cos at the Press junket in London, Emma did talk about that with the ACED Magazine:
QUOTE
Emma:YES! Oh my God! Seriously! There's only a certain amount of looking concerned at the edge of a scene that I can do. It was really nice, it brought me back to the first film, I was like "YES!". We've just started the final sequence, and I've got dirt on my face and blood, I'm running around. Yes. This is definitely the place I want Hermione to be. It's really really nice to get back to the action, it's great.
So naturally, if she's so excited, there's bound to be some great footage in the movie.

I've seen the OotP trailers and they seem to show that Hermione is in a lot of scenes. I hope so, because in the book she was out there, front and center. Her character sees more action in the 5th book, and should see as much action, if not more, in the 5th movie than she had in PoA (e.g. in the timeturner scene where she and Harry go back and rescue Sirius).
I'm thinking that a good number of
action scenes will include Hermione. I'm looking forward to the DoM scene where she gets
zapped by a DeathEater and Harry believes her to be dead. (That is, until Neville checks her pulse and realizes that she is only unconscious.) I like this scene primarily because of the
angst that Harry goes through.

I've seen the movie and she is definatly at the battle at the Ministry!!! She also went into the forest when they led Umbridge in there, it's pretty funny when Grawp picks up Hermione and she's like "Put...me...down! NOW!!", it's really funny! I whited that, if you want to read it, highlight it, put I don't recall it in the book, I didn't want to spoil it for anyone, and I mean it!!
