Benny and Joon, I forgot about that movie. It was incredible, and really touching. I liked the part where Sam slid down the hallway of the hospital, and then asked the nurses if they were his "Mommy". laugh.gif

That part was hillarous. Sam might not can read but he sure was smart knowing how to get the security to 'let' Benny in.

There have been only a couple movies that I didn't like that he was in (one was a Tim Burton film).
WHICH ONE?!!??!? If you say Edward Scissorhands, I think I'll cry.

I looooooove Benny and Joon. happy.gif Especially when he makes that little musical tune by letting the air out of the balloon. That movie is just sweet. Except I don't like the girl who plays June. Maybe it's just the character. But she bugs me. A lot.

I can't wait to watch Sweeny Todd now, but I'm not so sure. Is it a good movie for someone who can't stand the sight of blood, even in movies? I just want to listen to it for the music. smile.gif
Oh, see, only listening to the music is not allowed. You have to see the movie. Like Snapefan21 said, it's very fake looking. The blood that is. The gore isn't really serious, at least not in my eyes. I actually laughed at a point in the movie where they showed like...a montage of bodies falling down the chute for the meat pies. blink.gif Maybe I'm weird. But they were just singing and doing whatever and I got tickled. No, I think you should see it. I think it's worth it. Plus it's got Helena Bonham Carter, and Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman...you really can't go wrong.

OH MY GOSH YOU MENTIONED DR. PARNASSUS AND I AM SO EXCITED FOR THAT MOVIE AND IT BETTER COME TO THE US CAUSE IF IT DOESN'T I'M GOING TO BE VERY UPSET CAUSE I WANNA SEE IT SOOOOO BAD.

Yeah I just did that.

Well then! happy.gif It must be good! Just a second, let me watch the trailer...

Wow. It does look like a good movie. Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, and Jude Law all in the same film, as the same character?! woot.gif
The release date is supposedly October 16, but who knows if that'll change or not. As for it being released in the US, about 99% of all movies in the English language are released there, I don't think you have to worry. happy.gif

Has anyone seen Public Enemies? I'm not sure whether I should watch it or not. I'm not into gangster movies, so I'm willing to watch one only if it is really original..

Public Enemies was much different than it was perceived to be. It wasn't like most gangster movie where everyone has sex and curses every five minutes. It was more like a documentary style of movie than just an action gangster movie. I thought it was pretty good, definitey not one of Depp's best movies (Benny & Joon, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and Finding Neverland being IMO his best), but good all the same. Although, I do recommend subtitles if you watch it on DVD. It was very hard to hear even in the theatres!

I am really looking forward to seeing the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnanuss. This is the movie that Heath Ledger was making when he died last year. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law took on the role that was being played by Heath and you can see the trailer here!

Thank you SO much for posting this! For months, I've been trying to find the trailer for this movie! Now I'm even more excited happy.gif Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrel, AND Jude Law, ALL in one movie playing the SAME PERSON. I'm going to definately try and see this opening day!

I also can't wait for Alice in Wonderland to come out. This movie has a GREAT cast, with a great director. If I don't see this movie opening day, I'll be sure to see it opening week (:

LOL. No, I'm a huge fan of Edward Scissorhands. Actually, it's just Ed Wood that I'm not too fond of. But, then again, I'm not a fan of Ed Wood the person at all, so it's not really suprising, is it? xD

OMG!!! I watched the trailer for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnanuss and I fell in love. I love Terry Gilliam (seeing as he's a member of the Monty Python troupe), Heath Ledger, Colin Ferrel, and Jude Law. It'll be great. Oh, did I mention that I loved Johnny?! xD Anyway, this movie is sure to please.

Was it just me or does it look like when Johnny takes over Tony for that part of the film, the romance starts? xD Maybe its just my jealousy of every woman who has every played his love interest in any movie ever, but that's how it seems. xD Please set me straight!

I'm not into gangster movies either, but I thought Public Enemies was really good. Yeah, it has a couple bank robberies and lots of shoot-em-ups, but I definitely didn't mind. I thought the movie was very well-done, and I loved the story of John Dillinger. I think you should give it a shot. smile.gif

snaperules...*phew* I'm glad you're an Edward Scissorhands fan. I love that movie. He's so sweet. happy.gif But Ed Wood...yeah that movie is a bit odd. However, I think he portrayed the real Ed Wood quite well, as Ed Wood was an exceptionally strange fellow. blink.gif I just think it's weird seeing Johnny Depp with that crazy smile.

Evil me, but I hope that Colin Farrell gets the least amount of screen time in Dr. Parnassus. I don't care for him. And I think it's a shame that they have three fantastically awesome guys...and then there's Colin Farrell. Oh well.

Oh, I'd rather Jude Law was out, as I love Colin Farrell. offtopic.gif

And how can you think it's weird seeing him with a crazy smile? I think that's the times when he's the best tongue.gif Well, overall I love when he's being crazy.

I just saw Edward Scissorhands yesterday. Fantastic and I can't help but love him because he's so vulnerable and sweet. So innocent.

In fact, the last few days, I've seen a lot of Johnny Depp movies I was afraid to see because I feared it was such a bad movie I'd hate him for it. Finding Neverland, Secret Window and Edward Scissorhands. But thanks god, I love them all. I just can't help finding all these special rolls played perfectly by him. Even though how strange the parts are, he pull through so easily the characters seem so real and alive.

Oh, and that trailer of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was just amazing. It wasn't like I had expectexd at all, and I was actually thinking it'd be kind of boring... I don't know why. But now I can't wait. Just as with Alice in Wonderland (Burton and Depp makes the best movies).

Now I'm just off to find some new movie with him tongue.gif
Linux felicis
I've been in love with him ever since I saw him on that ridiculous TV series 21 Jump Street. If only he were taller wub.gif He was delicious in Chocolat but if you haven't seen in Don Juan de Marco you haven't seen anything! He plays the patient of psychiatrist Marlon Brando. He is committed in an asylum because he thinks he is Don Juan and he gets all the nurses on valiums because they're all in love with him. Get a box of napkins and watch the DVD.
Did all of you know that Johny acts only for the money but his true love is music? He's a musician at heart not an actor and that's why he chose to live away from Hollywood. Well, the drugs and the death of his dear friend River Phoenix outside his own club in LA played a role in his decision to get away from it all and move to Europe too...
Oh my God, wouldn't he be perfect as Sirious Black?
Triad
I'm a Johnny Depp fan. He's just so versatile! Although sometimes I think I'm seeing Jack Sparrow in some movies, particularly Sweeney Todd. But then who doesn't love Jack Sparrow?

I think I'll wait for Public enemies to come out on DVD. I'm not that interested in seeing it at the cinema.

Ditto. He's too much of a......ugly person to be in the movie. Same with Jude Law. They could have used better people. Mmmmm....Heath Ledger and Johnny Depp. *drool* Ahem. I think I've only seen one Colin Farrell movie and that was SWAT (I think...was he in that one?) Don't like him. I've seen a few Jude Law movies, my favs are Music From Another Room and Gattaca.

But back onto Johnny! I can't wait for Alice in Wonderland. I'm getting tired of him always being in Tim Burton movies though, same with Helena Bonham Carter, it's like he doesn't want to bother trying to cast other people, he just chooses those two again and again. Sure he's sleeping with Helena but I doubt he's sleeping with Johnny. Tim Burton movies rock but come on, there's only so many roles he's created, he needs fresh blood! And Johnny needs a movie where he gets his kit off. wink.gif
Just the Droobles
happy-potter, it's not that I don't like seeing him smile, it's just in movies like Ed Wood and Charlie in the Chocolate Factory, I feel like it's not his real smile. Trust me, I'm all about smiles when it comes to guys. wink.gif

My least favorite movie that I've seen him in what The Libertine. Don't know if anyone has seen that...but I just...I couldn't get into it. And he looked horrible.

I think that the thing that made him move away was the paparazzi. I don't think he likes being in all the glamour and garbage or Hollywood, and he found France much more relaxing and realistic. Also, I think he may have thought it was a better place for his two children. Quite frankly, I think it was a good decision cause I wouldn't want my kids growing up in Hollywood either. Don't know about France though...

Speaking of seeing Jack Sparrow in other movies...There was a certain scene in Finding Neverland where he was pretending to be a pirate, and I was like OMG Jack Sparrow with less makeup!!

And I'll definitely second that *drool* for Johnny and Heath....mmmm...it's a shame that Heath passed right when they ended up in a movie together. I've been waiting. sad.gif I've only seen one movie with Colin Farrell. It was Phone Booth. It was entertaining, but a movie that I'd only watch once. As for Jude Law, I've only seen The Holiday. I fell asleep during that one.

You get to see his bum in private resort. I've actually never seen that movie.

I totally agree with you Just the Droobles. I only got about half way through the movie, I decided that I didn't want to waste my time with it. The Libertine is the only Johnny Depp movie that I don't like at all. Some of his movies - like Public Enemies and Blow - are not movies I would watch over and over again, but at least I can sit through it and watch it.

Haha, I thought the same thing! I got my step-mom and step-nana to watch that movie a couple of weekends ago, and when I saw that part, all I could think of was Jack Sparrow laugh.gif

I totally agree, especially in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think that's how its supposed to be, but I love his smile too much to let it go for a full movie. laugh.gif

Umm... Yeah. I highly doubt that he's sleeping with Johnny. I mean, seriously. I think even he has his limits. laugh.gif

I have officially decided to watch Sweeny Todd (as soon as I can get a copy), but I have a question for everyone. I was talking with my mom about it (I showed her Pretty Women from Sweeny Todd, and she agrees with me that he has great talent in the singing area), and I think that he should try Broadway. Maybe not do it forever, but at least try it, you know? What does everyone else think?

Ugh!! I keep wishing that the stupid poll thing would let me vote "I LOVE him" more than jut once. There would be over 200 votes up there, just from me if I could. Maybe there should be one that says "I OBSESS over him!"
The Happy Dementor
oooooh, no no no no no! I OBSESS OVER HIM! Seriously it is soooo not healthy. REALLY really unhealthy. I love him so much, in all his films, on my grave stone it'll probably have some sort of mention... OH! I saw Finding Neverland the other day on the tele and I LOVED the pirate bit! XD, he sounded exactly like Jack Sparrow without the wig and makeup XDXD. Omg he rocks so much! He is like plastered ALL over my happy place...my happy place is the best place on the planet by the way.

You haven't seen Sweeney?!! I think it is like his second best film next to all of the POTC films...and that is only cause I love all the blood and the story line is absolutely amaaaazing. LOVE it, must be my favourite film in the world EVER!

QUOTE

Totally, his voice is absolutly amazing and I am sure people would love to hear more of it. Broadway...bet you he would totally enjoy that with all the singing, lol XD. Oh! He held a gig or something with his high school band he got together and had 2,500 fans turn up....back when he was still pretty undescovered he only had 50, XD. I would definitly watch Broadway and I expect a load of other people would too. wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

I heart.gif him ^^, go this thread!
